for a long time time where I have used the original. Galaxy Watch I use the Gear 2. I use the original Galaxy S watch and I use the Galaxy Sport for quite some time, so in today's video I'm using my first official Galaxy watch and I went all out. I wanted to see what LTE is and it was all about so today I'm going to show you how to set it up and show you the main features you need to know about the Galaxy watch active so inside the box you have some instructions on how to install the different bands here , the Galaxy watch looks like it's the first time they don't have the straps on when you unbox it, so there you get the basic watch and here the stainless steel version comes with these leather straps, so in here.

We have a quick start guide on how to use it and we'll cover all of those features and then here's the charger for the Galaxy watch. One thing I really like about the Galaxy watch is that they can be used with a wireless charger with a qi wireless charging pad so I have a Samsung dual wireless charging pad so it's nice to be able to charge my phone on one side and then I can leave my watch on the other one, so I'm really excited to be able to have that functionality. back that the tick watch I was using didn't have now let's install the band so make sure this paper is the right way the buttons should be on the left side here so let's take this one this is the part top and then the longest one is the bottom, so installing them is very simple: just take the quick release side, put it in the hole and then pull down the quick release and then secure it in place and now let's do that with the other side, but in the hole, pull down on the quick release, there you do it and it's solid.

One of the best things about the Galaxy Watch is that it has a standard watch size of 20 millimeters, which means you can go out and find any other one. style of watch you would like to add to this and it will fit seamlessly. Just a few of the main benefits of using Samsung bands is that they have a quick release so you can easily take them on and off now that the band is installed. We'll turn it on by holding down the power button on the bottom right and then make sure we have the Galaxy Wearable app and I also recommend downloading these Samsung health apps to make sure everything is there.

The way it was updated if you don't already have it, there are now some differences between this version and the aluminum version of the Galaxy Watch. Now it comes in a 44 millimeter size which is this or a 40 millimeter size and then it also comes in the aluminum version which is the non LTE version so once the watch starts up on my Galaxy Note 10.1, if that does not appear, simply enter the Galaxy Wearable app and then it will follow the steps where you need to confirm. on the watch and on the phone, that's the device you want to pair, so I've already done that, but now I'm going to go ahead and connect the Galaxy Watch Active to my phone, so now that Watch Active 2 is paired and we need to accept those terms and different conditions.

Okay, let's take a look at the navigation on the watch, so if we swipe left we'll go to our different widgets and then if we swipe right it'll go back home or go to our notifications here we have the back key up here and then here we have the HOME key or our apps key so there it went into all the apps and then if we swipe this way we can see more apps and then if we swipe down from the top we have our quick settings and then you can turn off the screen by placing your palm right on the screen to make it work and now we can use our watch so that the same The first thing I want to do is customize my watch face.

Now this is very easy to do, all you need to do is hold down the key and then this option will appear where you can search for a different watch face that I want to use. There are now thousands of different watch faces you can download through the Galaxy Wearable app, but this is one I've used in the past and really like. Now, down here, you have the option to customize so I can select Customize. and now there's a lot of different things I can do in this to customize so here it says swipe the screen to see the different styles so now I'm in the color options so if I want to change the color I can just swipe up . or down to change the color so it says there are 12 different color options so it's great to be able to go through and choose exactly the one I want so of course I like this blue here and then if I swipe it now, I can change the four different parts of this watch face that can be adjusted so here I can have battery life or there are 34 different options that I can choose whether I can choose sunrise or I can choose to see if there is a chance of rain, like this I'm going to keep this one on battery.

I swipe here. I have the date, so I like that on my watch face. Here I have the number of steps I've taken throughout the day, so I'm going to keep that one and Then the last box here is the weather, so I don't really want the weather, so let's go through and see if there's a better one than I'd like to use it so you can incorporate it directly into your music. ing biking all kinds of different settings that you have here so let's go ahead and choose music because I want to be able to quickly access my music and pause it and play it when it's on so now when I press OK now it snaps, you can see exactly how it works.

The first thing I notice about this watch is the size of the screen, so it's a 1.4-inch screen compared to the 40 millimeter version, which is now a 1.2-inch screen for anyone who uses it. The Gear Sport or the Gear S2 here you can see the different size, so even though the size of the watch is the same, you have a lot more screen because you don't have this big bezel. Now another difference is in the Gear Sport you had. This rotating bezel on the top has now changed on the two active ones, you have the bezel, but it's right here where you just go around the outside edge of the device.

Now let's talk about different ways in which you can wake up the screen on your device. So if you don't look at the device for a while, it will automatically turn off and go black. When you want to see the time, you can simply raise your wrist as if you were checking the time and it will wake up automatically. The other option you have is you can turn on always-on display, so if we scroll down to our quick settings and click on this option here, this is always-on display, so if we lock the screen now you can see that It's still showing the watch even though it's locked now, this will decrease battery life, but it's nice that the watch is always on, so if you look down without having to move your wrist, you can still see the watch now, always on. screen.

It will change depending on the watch you're using, but it's very similar to the actual watch face on this one. Now if I wake it up, I can double tap and there it will wake it up so you can see it light up the screen or You could just press any of the buttons on the side so now let's go over navigating through the watch so we already learned that if we swipe this way we have different widgets so you can see all the different widgets that we have and those are. it's already set by default now if you want to adjust them all you need to do is long press and here you have an option where you can turn off the weather or you can turn off calendar events or you can go and add more so I could add my alarms or add a shortcut page to the app or a full contextual musical calendar reminder.

Samsung helped and there are plenty of these again. You can review and see all of those options right here. You can set the sleep mode. You can see your steps. Add water. songs, there are tons of widget options available, so if we come back here to our main page, here is a daily activity. I don't want that there. I'll hold it down and I can move it to a different part of the widget since it's a long row you can adjust what would be the first widget you see and here I have favorite apps so I can click edit and then I can go through and choose all the applications I want here.

I just need to tap a plus sign and then here I can choose one of my favorites, so I'll choose calendar and then I'll search for my favorite, so I want music and let's do Samsung health, so now if I select return now, they've all been added, this is how you can edit the widgets now here under the notifications you'll see this little orange dot that says you have a notification so if we swipe we can see that and then swipe up to clear that notification so again I'm on my Homepage. I want to see my notifications.

Usually, you'll see the orange dot right there and now there's just a notification to start Samsung Pay. If we swipe again, you have an option. to clear all notifications and then if I wanted to swipe this way, I just swipe up and it will clear that notification. If we go into settings here, it's actually going to open up our phone and give me a few different options for notifications, so right now. There are only 13 apps that will actually show notifications here. If you go here, you can choose each app to show its notifications. Now I'm going to advise against it because you'll start getting all kinds of random notifications, as Google will tell you.

It tells you the weather 20 times a day and other apps will always appear, so I would just go through and choose the apps you really want to see. Notifications. I use this as a filter for what is being notified to my phone and what I actually want to be notified of, so I want to see when someone comes to my door, so I'm going to turn those notifications on. I like to see my text messages. I use Google Voice, so I'm going to turn it on and then I can. Go ahead and turn off or turn on any other app that you want to notify me about here so scroll down and maybe I want to be notified if someone pays me on PayPal so I can turn it on or I want to know when to get a Snapchat so you can go through and choose all of them. the notifications you want to have here and there is a way to block them here if you are tired of seeing a notification you will see a blocking setting but now that that is done we can go back so next we have an option to show only while I use it, so if I take it off and put it on the charger, I don't want this to keep getting notifications, so I'm going to keep that option on so that it doesn't keep notifying my phone and the watch.

Now we have the option to show while using the phone, so let's say I'm on my phone and I receive a text message. That text message will come to my phone and I normally don't want that so I'm going to make sure that this setting is turned off and then here we have some advanced notifications so the first option is Show details automatically so whenever I receive a text message will not be hidden. the content will actually show me the message on the screen then you have the notification indicator so this will show an indicator on the watch for unread notifications so I like that now the following turns on the screen when a notification is received , so I'm going to turn that on because as soon as I get a notification I want it to appear here so I can respond quickly without having to wait for the watch to wake up.

Now we have a smart relay, so if I get a notification on my watch and then immediately pick up my phone and unlock it, it will jump right to that app and I can respond, which helps prevent you from opening your phone, finding the app, then logging in. on it and you respond when I turn this on it allows us to respond quickly because it automatically opens that app so I'm going to keep it on so that's how you adjust all the different notifications that come to the watch so that when I get a notification it vibrates and it popped up with the actual message now when we tap on the notification we have the option to read more so we can see the full threadYou will likely receive an email or you will need to call your bank.

Ok, our card was added successfully so we'll select Done and now it says: Press and hold the Back key on any screen to open Samsung Pay on your watch and then I can rotate the bezel to select the card and then tap pay on the screen to pay so now if I want to pay I just hold the back button and there it asks me for my PIN and now I just need to hold it against the NFC terminal. Lastly, I want to show you the home button down here, so if I'm on any page I can select Home and it takes me back to my watch face.

If I press it again on the home page, it will take me to the app, so again I can scroll and find one of these or I can just tap on one of them and it will go into that app. Now there are enough different apps installed for you to have your messaging app on the Bigsby SL Samsung Pay phone. So we've already gone through them, if you keep scrolling you'll see the other apps, so I added those images, so I'll select the gallery and here we can see those images and there are already some preset images as well. so let's go back now, if you want to download other apps, you can do it directly from the watch, so here you have the Galaxy store, so we open it.

It's very limited here on the watch, you can't see as much, but it's nice to be able to quickly download an app if I want, so here I just need to accept the terms and conditions and now here we have some different categories, we have essentials, we have highlighted, we have watch face apps and then we could also just make it go directly to the phone so let's get down to the nitty gritty and here are some other things we could download the calculator. we have a Samsung Internet browser or a voice memo. I really like having that on the watch, so I'm going to go over it. download that one we Estrada goober smartthings oh definitely I'll install it right now so there's a bunch of different apps you have ooh camera.controller I didn't have any of these on the last sport I used I'm really excited about all these calorie counter equipment, endomondo VR controller, so there are many different options in the apps, next let's try Bigsby, so if you go into the apps and open Bigsby, it will ask you for permissions and some different things the first time you I set it up, but after doing that, I can now talk to Bigsby by voice only.

Hi Bigsby, turned off the office outlet so far, that's working great. my smart stuff and then here it's going to give me some recommendations on other things that I can say to be able to use Spotify to play music. You could have it turn on different settings right here. I can also just ask for other information, now one of the others. The apps I downloaded were the camera controller, so when you open this, it will automatically unlock your phone and open right up to the camera and then I can see the viewfinder right here, so if I change the position you'll see it move. there on the phone and then I can just press the photo button or I can switch to the timer here you see it's five seconds and then once I click the button it will start the countdown and I'll take the photo now when it's on video . mode and I tap on the option, you can see it starts recording now, this is very useful, especially if you have a non-note device because the s-pen can do this, but it's great that now you have all those functions directly from the Galaxy Watch. make sure you download the Samsung help app because all the information that the Galaxy watch records will be synced here so here you can see that five minutes ago it synced my five thousand steps and up here in the menu it is synced with the active one. two now in the app, this will track all your fitness, you have your active minutes, there, you sleep, you have weight and other information here, if you go to the "together" tab, this will link with your phone number and other people you you have in Your contacts will appear here, so here I can see that my wife has currently hidden a lot more steps than I have in the last seven days, but now that I'm back on the Galaxy watch we'll see how long it lasts so you can.

Do other challenges and other fun stuff right here in the app so I went ahead and activated my asset on my cell carrier so let me explain how that's going to work so if we go into the Galaxy Wearable app we'll be able to see a little bit . For more information, if I go down here to the account and do a backup here, we have an option called remote connection, so make sure that is activated, but what happens here is when I am connected remotely, that is, When I am away from my phone when my Bluetooth is off or not connected, I will receive my notifications, messages, emails, search for my watch and find my phone information forwarded to my watch or all that information will be sent to my watch, so that even if you don't have the LTE version you can still be connected remotely.

As long as you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and your phone is connected to another Wi-Fi, you can leave this at home, connect it to a Wi-Fi network, go somewhere, connect your watch to a Wi-Fi network and You will still be able to receive those types of notifications now, the best thing about LTE is that you will still receive those calls where you can practically receive other notifications and text messages, even if you don't have the LTE version, so now you can see on the mire, it shows that I'm connected via bluetooth, which means as soon as my phone receives a call, notifications will appear here as well and everything will appear here through a Bluetooth connection, but now let's say I turn off Bluetooth or leave my phone at home and then I'll go out and do things without my phone and I'll just use my watch, so here you'll see it says standalone and it just shows a Bluetooth icon above.

Now that means the Bluetooth signal is on on the watch, but it is not currently connected to a phone or cellular carrier. There is now a small delay once you disconnect the Bluetooth, it takes about 60 seconds before it turns off. from being connected to the phone to then being connected to your cellular network, so now if I slide this down, you can see that I'm connected remotely through Sprint, so now up here we have the LTE option, we have volts of voice over LTE so now I can use my watch just like it was connected to Wi-Fi or pretty close to being connected via bluetooth all without having that connection there as you can see it connected remotely which means that if I receive a text message or a different notification, the clock will appear and now for phone calls, if someone calls me, it will not only ring on my phone but it will ring at the same time on my watch.

Now this depends on the provider you have. Some may be a little different. it forwards the phone number to the watch, but I think now the main way this works is that you get a call and you have the same phone number synced between the phone and the watch, so it will ring both at the same time. Try it again so they are connected remotely and have received a call. I actually see the call first on my active Galaxy Watch and now I see it here on the note 10, so now you can talk through the watch and listen. through it I can also change the volume right here, I could connect to a Bluetooth so I can have my watch and a Bluetooth headset and then here I could mute the call now, if I select the menu here, I can go to the keyboard and type the numbers if maybe I'm calling and I need to do that but this is how I would make a phone call on the Galaxy watch by itself so now if I make a call call the Verizon line so I'll get the call and this is the same number that I have on my phone so everything is working great so now I will receive a text message on the phone number on the phone but it should also appear here on the watch like Okay there you can see the message appeared and now , if I send my preset message, it will be sent to that same phone number, so it's not like the watch has a different number than the phone, they work together simultaneously.

Now let's try that. once again sending a text message directly from the watch, send a text message to the Verizon line. I'll see you tomorrow morning so it appeared in the same thread showing that they are all the same phone numbers so I don't confuse other people who you are with. texting or anything this works simultaneously and is really nice to have so once I get back in Bluetooth range this will no longer connect LTE then it will connect directly to my phone and everything will work as before so definitely There are some benefits to having the LTE version of the two active now, if that's something you don't need, the Wi-Fi Bluetooth version is available, they can do pretty much everything except take phone calls and get those notifications anywhere you have data connection so if you were looking for a way to stay connected all the time without having your phone with you the active to LTE is definitely the way to go and this is how you set up the two active and sync everything with your phone and adjust All this. settings you need to customize to make this work the way you want.
