Death Stranding - Part 12 | THE ENDING

Feb 27, 2020
waiting on the beach I remember you know, you always know what I did and what I didn't. I had so many dreams of the future that I didn't know which ones to trust, that's why I decided to do it. share them with you and others strange sense of everything you need time time has no meaning to me I'm not a lion I'm a single point and that's why all I could do was show you the options and let you decide our nightmares I found the common thread you made, that that need to live life one day at a time, a gun won't help you here but it still has a role to play, it was the bonds between people that brought the world together, which I will stay on here.
death stranding part 12 the ending

I'm tired of waiting and I thought no one would blame me if I ended it all with sounds like but you and the others joined in and you may be living on borrowed time, but you still have hope.

Choose five rebel lives, they fought. Re-evolving to survive is an opportunity and if I have to pay the price for that to be the sacrifice, so be it, even if we are not together we will always be connected. Wow, foreigner, foreigner still has a role to play. I'm going to shoot myself. I will make a decision. Bring this and put an end to it. I was trying to shoot him because I didn't want to let the world die and let it die in a different way. foreign time oh the credits are playing what can I just go in the water and do something?
death stranding part 12 the ending
I want to equip the weapon but I can't. I don't want to make a shitty decision. I don't want to like walking into the water and having that end and then the whole world being destroyed. I wonder if something will happen. Wait, so Amelie is the beach because she is an Extinction entity. I'm not sure I understand I've always been able to do that so quickly oh he's going quiet and I'll tell you there's no time for questions when you were young you used to have bad dreams oh you cried about them all the time those were They're not your dreams, they were mine since I can remember.
death stranding part 12 the ending
I have dreamed of the beach not only while sleeping in my waking hours but also in my dreams. I see the end of the world so many times. I need countless past extinctions that decimated life. on this planet over and over and over again first I didn't understand what I was seeing or why that wasn't the worst there were other more terrible dreams dreams of

death

of a mass extinction to come it would always be the one bring the last

stranding

like I did today, okay, I'll move on, so we've seen you do Kojima's name three times now in the credits oh, his epic ankle, dude, oh there we go again, I'm back where I started. foreigner, it's okay, I'll keep running because I don't want to get into the water.
I feel like that's a bad choice, the gun still has a role to play and how long will I have to sit here and watch the foreign credits. I opened my eyes and found myself on the beach, but the moment I regained consciousness I was back in the hospital bed, bleeding in Two Worlds, Bridget, my ja and that, Amelie, my car, in this, okay , somehow, the two of us managed to coexist early at our ages. It began to diverge. Bridget's body aged while the beach kept Amelie's the same, so I came up with a story. I told people that Amelie was my daughter.
A daughter with a debilitating condition. Look Amelie, oh God, it's French for "so good," so that's a lie. There was no Amelie, just me and the beach. At first I thought it was a curse, but then I started thinking maybe I could use this. I tried to find out more about the beach because understanding the beach has had to be the key to interpreting my visions of the future, okay, I really am a lie. Bullshit, that makes more sense, so now, why do she and Bridget look exactly the same? At least they have an answer to that, so they're the same person.
I'm still trying to figure it out. Find out why she is an extinction entity, it's just something that happens and it's inevitable and the extinction entity has to make these things happen because it seemed like she didn't know what, oh, she didn't know what she was. I don't know what the extinction event was, she wanted it to happen but then she didn't want it to happen, so is it just a course of nature that she also has no control over but is being channeled through her? I don't know, it wasn't either. a little cooler when the beach was just an alternate dimension, I mean, it still is, but if she controls them all, what if I sit down?
I can't, I can't do that here now, so she would lose all of this. Whether I just went straight into the water or none of that really matters at this point. I have so many foreign questions. Did she cause the first

death

? We need some time to digest all this. We have more stories. I realized which beach was which. It meant that somewhere beyond were the memories of time itself, including those of every organism that had ever lived through 4.6 billion years of biological history, a history that might even stretch back to the creation of the chiral Web of the universe and everything.
What followed was that knowledge born. By passing data across the beach, we free ourselves from the constraints of time. Simulations that would have taken years or more were simple and effortless. Everything the Earth had lost and forgotten could be rebuilt and recovered, but shortly after we began our investigation, the United States saw its first emptying. I thought time was running out, that my nightmares were coming true, so I ran to complete the Chiral Network as quickly as possible. The past had all the answers, only I could find a way to put them together. A network that linked our world and the beach that could do it I believed, so I began to investigate Bridge babies children tied to the world of the Dead causes an Extinction entity to emerge what was the reason for the previous five mass extinctions the answers to those questions they tell me how to stop the sixth I found Bridges more determined than ever to build a chiral network that covered all of America he had cancer the punishment of the beach maybe for not playing along like a good little e and then, just like that, my hoe was was, I couldn't I didn't finish what I had started, so I asked you to do it for me and you did it, you helped us complete the web, you helped us recover everything the universe experienced from its beginning until each mystery came to light. the light, like this, once there was an explosion.
The big bang that gave rise to time and space is more like a big fluke, all that matter and antimatter should have canceled out, leaving nothing more than somehow a small speck of matter surviving long enough to make this world and everything. that there is a world in it that should not be a world out of balance order inevitably gives way to chaos everything that lives must inevitably die the universe is trying to return perhaps the big five or its best attempts to finish us off somehow way life always managed to survive long enough and after thumb its gnomes at the will of the cosmos the distinction could be the key to overcoming total annihilation forces life to fight to survive to endure existing that is why the big five finally revived life Instead of extinguishing her the ashes of the dead resurrect the living strongest and wisest heirs to the legacy of existence itself, they defy the universe and refuse to give up, they say we're just getting started, it's okay, so she was just born and Even she wanted to try to put an end to it and that's why she made the Chiral Web to bridge a connection to see if that was a way to end up stopping it, but it seems like creating that web is the reason she ended up causing it to happen in first place or like it actually made her work again so she existed long before the first void, I imagine she heard the death begin because there's no way to know it's something that's happening until a void occurs and then more occur voids and then suddenly the world is an apocalypse, so she existed before everyone. that and it was a long time before the first void happened, interesting yes, and I kept wondering in all the trailers when things like a void happened or something that showed standing figures like the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
I guess those previous Extinction entities manifested, but some of them are like ammonites? Are you saying that an Extinction entity was just born, so Extinction entities exist only to keep the world going? If they did, if Extinction didn't happen, then the world would just crumble to nothing and not hold on and adapt and survive and carry on is what they're trying to say a little confused oh it's happening again alien here we go again I pressed the trigger twice that day I knew immediately that I had made a mistake I found your beach and looked everywhere for you Sam there you are thank you mom hello do you want to go home let's go I want it I wanted to free you from Death once and for all I know the foreign way the fundamental balance between life and death I just wanted to save you I am an entity of Extinction it is my destiny to lead our species to Extinction you became a repatriot and Dooms began to spread my nightmares to others around the world I was the one who put you in and everyone with Dooms in this not long after the death

stranding

occurred the dead clung to our world and BTS used my beach to cross over and devour them which caused more voids okay a catalyst that would put the world On the road to extinction, it was my duty to serve as a sacrifice. wait and watch it unfold from this beach or accelerate the last stranding and end this slow death given these my only options I chose to end it quickly but to trigger the last stranding I needed you a

part

of me here I could also witness the consummated Extinction with you at my side side but now that you're here there's another option you can cut me and ee doesn't have that option on his own but in my nightmares I saw another future you chose one where Extinction Hope is against total annihilation so she found Sam when he was a baby , he said he pulled the trigger twice that day, oh okay, he pulled the trigger twice that day, which made it sound like he killed my parents, but I don't know who they are.
I showed her putting a cross on my belly, that's why she has that scar on her stomach and then her doing that brought me back to life or at least let me survive again, but why did Sam say that you found him and you just wanted to save him? and everything, but I don't understand Hawaii. I'm still dissecting a lot of that. Maybe something else will happen at the end of this. Don't know. Sam still has the drum all he wants, though Trump with the song. Sam, there you are. see, okay, look, now I'm blocking the crown, now I ruined it, so she is an Extinction entity created for the sole purpose of leading Humanity towards their death towards their Extinction, other creatures in the past have too made.
She was born to lead her world to extinction, but the thing about this is that you're not just driving humans to extinction, you're driving everything to extinction and then because she was born, the beach was created. , the beach was created because it is the beach. she's all of this she's death stranding she's the beach she's the extinction entity it's the same thing creating her Playa then built a bridge but found out she found Sam when he was a baby for some reason maybe that was explained and I ran through it high but she had the baby, it looked like it was dead and then she brought him back to life and sent him back which created a repatriot and created Dooms that connected him to her and then that started spreading to other people, for what other people were Dooms. seeing something crazy based on her dreams and then doing that opened the beach or other beaches for everyone and the people who died were able to return.
Anyone who had died before was able to return to the world of the living and, of course, the dead. -Particles of matter interacting with real humans, real life

part

icles collide and annihilate each other because a dead person and a living person can exist in the same place and that creates a vacuum that explodes everything around it, creating more dead people trying to come back by creating more. overriding it, so it seems like it's an escalation thing and then creating the chiral network was her way of trying to stop it, but she connected all the beaches together, she connected each person's beach and hers on top, basically, this is very strong basically like a node structure where yours is the top node and then all these branches come out and join all these beaches that were different points and then when you connect the chiral network you would have to draw it this is my understanding oh what what was going on so you have her name it's so stupid by the way i don't like that at all soul it's a lie um i don't know how to spell it so you have her at the top that's her beach that's the main point so you have all these others, you can deliver, you can deliver drugs until you're. blue in the face although ASAP is not fun you love delivering drugs have a pleasant trip it's on my hip there's something on my right hip well not completely on my hip but on my right side what is that you can see it under me elbow that wasn't there was always there or was it and I'm a lunatic Might as well be a lunatic could be an extra bag for something good that's good for death stranding I guess Sam is a bridge baby not the bridge baby he is no BB 28 bb28 is just another random BB, but he has a super strong connection to BB because being one in the first place has given him a super strong connection to those entities in this world, but Cliff and Bray's father or Lisa Bridges.
It's his mom and that's why they're called Bridge babies because they're the bridge babies, basically I think he was the first one in these new experiments after Manhattan and they were testing the BB stuff and all that was and the gaps happened and then they started experimenting with Bridget and Die Hardman and uh Cliff and Lisa and their baby would become a bridge baby um and maybe that's why they're called because it's a Bridges baby Cliff and Lisa, all those Lisa Bridges and Cliff Unger instead of simply Cliff Bridges. Whatever the name or names are, they don't need to take each other's names, but basically it's also a bridge to different worlds and Sam himself is the bridge to the future and is the one who unites everyone, so his name has thousands of different meanings.
I just don't know why he was called Sam all the time Cliff called him Bibi. Does that mean Bridget randomly started calling him Sam because she found him in the B? His name was Bibi all the time. One time he was in the pod and then he was shot and then Emily found him on the beach and she called him Sam immediately, so whoever calls him Sam is just a name you gave him immediately, maybe Sam has another meaning, it could have a very strong religious meaning. I mean also that I don't understand maybe that parrot crossed me you'll have to forgive me if some parts flew over my head there's a lot of dialogue in this game there's a lot of exposition there's a lot of dialogue there's a lot of characters who say a lot of things but don't say anything at the same time let's talk of the game in general the game in general I really liked it overall I really liked the game it was as good as people expect it to be no, I don't think it could ever have been because people's expectations are too high and Kojima is a master at mystery and then delivers all this mystery in super cool cinematography and then the Game ends up being exactly what it is and never lived up to it. the hype, no one could have made the game that everyone thought it was going to be because that game just doesn't exist because people had such crazy interpretations of what the game was going to be.
Loop I thought I would hate. As soon as I found out it was a walking simulator, I was very, very cynical, I was even talking to Troy about it, like years ago, he didn't tell me anything about it, really because he can't, um, and as much as I. I would have loved to know what the game was many, many years ago. The way he talked about it and the way he explained how the game was going to be again, he didn't say much, but just little things here. and there umy I was worried that the game was basically saying that what was in the trailers is what the game is and that was it so I was worried that the game was just walking it turns out the game is just walking there's a little bit combat here and there but the overall gameplay 80 of the game I was just walking from A to B delivering packages now on paper that sounds like torture that sounds horrible that sounds like something I don't want to do that sounds like fetching the game and technically that's exactly what it is, but for some reason I still really liked it, so there's something about the game loop that maybe it's just because that kind of thing is addictive, maybe it's just because the scenery kept changing.
I am a fan of landscapes. Absolutely beautiful to see some of the best scenery I've ever seen in a video game and some parts of this game are some of the most photorealistic I've seen in a video game. Look at some sections, it was the most attractive video game. I've ever seen it be a bit inconsistent, although the ruined buildings on the way to the Nintendo Wii building seem so square and normal and the lighting and everything just adapts to the environment, uh outside of that, like nature, even more so when you take it to real recognizable buildings the fact that nothing is really recognizable in this is very good it actually sells a lot more as soon as it started snowing it still looks great as a video game but it stops looking like a real photograph because I don't know, maybe Maybe your brain just acclimates better to it or maybe it's just harder to do, I don't know, but some scenes, like walking to the weather station with that big giant satellite, were the prettiest thing in this. the whole game and I'm just a sucker for it.
I'm a sucker for the scenery every time we go out and just walk around when I was on tour. I loved looking at places and how things looked and Just looking at Views and all that kind of stuff, I'm a fan of that, so for me the world of this game was incredibly beautiful, the sound design is top quality, it will be It's hard to find a better sound design. Video games are higher level stuff and very few games delve into that level of sound. Some games have good sound, but they are all manufactured sounds. This sounds like they really went out and just captured millions of sounds to make it look like it was. real, every buckle, every closure, every zipper, every step, every everything, had a tiny little sound and it's something that goes through your head because you just don't think about it because it sounds real, but as someone like me who absolutely adores design of sound and I was studying it for a while, this is really hard to do and they pulled it off with some of the strangest creature designs and it's all so good in that scene where they have at the beginning of the game with the corpse disposal unit with the guy, he gets wrapped up and then his face turns golden and he starts shaking.
That first scene that was the trailer they released is one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a video game, the way the cinematography was that handheld camera, the way everything is just. one shot, which is something video games really allow you to do. God of War is another great example, the entire game is one shot, but you don't have to hide it in the edits because it's a video game, but that scene is like that. a good combination of great acting, phenomenal cinematography and world class sound design, that moment when that giant BT is there and you hear that kind of sound when they pick up the guys and he stabs himself and then a song plays of sparkling cradle.
It doesn't get any better than that, it's top notch, movie quality stuff in a video game and this game really feels like a movie if you remove a lot of the walking and everything that still serves the plot and story. and the gameplay and all that kind of stuff, but my goodness, there's so much cinema-quality stuff in this game that, as a technical achievement and a technical product, it's outstanding. I can't sing their praises enough for the visuals, the motion capture is one of the best I've ever seen is the skin, the little nuances of the characters, some characters looked better than others, I think Mass's character Mickelson and Die Hardman character Tommy Earl Jenkins, there's something about their character models that was head and shoulders above everyone else, um, because Norman Reedus' character had a little stubble and everything, but Max Mickelson's character he had spots of follicles and little clumps of hair, like his beard grew super fast and he hadn't shaved in a day.
That kind of beard and that kind of detail was crazy. It was great now story-wise. I think the concept of the story and I think its premise is much better than its execution. I think he's stumbled in a couple of places. I think he got too bogged down in his own exposition at times. It was just throwing phrases and sentences and the world and the plot and all that at you in such big chunks that it was really hard to digest. The pace of the game was all over the place. It also could have been done much better.
There were some sections where the first two hours of the game were like 30 minutes of gameplay and then between 5 and 15 it was all gameplay and there were very few cutscenes so it was a little wonky from time to time when the dialogue and the exposition, all that stuff comes up, it's just a lot of terms you have to deal with and it was only near the end of the game that I started and only because I dug into all the documents and actually wrote. Like my own exam notes, I actually started to understand what the hell people were talking about because there are a lot of things that are mislabeled but say something simplistic like the beach is technically limbo, but by calling it a beach, I know it fits the tradition. and the plot and the story and everything is very consistent with itself, but I felt like these strange terms to call something when it was actually kind of simplistic to understand, so I think calling it something else, like calling it beach instead of limbo or maybe it's not technically a limbo, but you understand what I'm trying to say by calling it a beach instead of limbo every time you hear Beach, so you're just imagining a real beach and it takes you a long time to try to figure it out. what beach really is and then they talk about transferring data through it and everything gets so stuck and I'm like, okay, it took me a minute to try to figure out what they're saying and then I'm like, oh, this is this and that's Oh yeah, that makes sense now and some would say yes, it's complicated and that's Kojima's genius, but I'd say it's too complicated to sound smarter than it is and that's it.
Not to downplay what the concepts and stuff really are, it's amazing, the vision he had for this game. I'll get to that in a second, but he seems to like the sound of certain things and then he just throws. those words on things and that ends up making it sound much more complicated than it really needs to be. I think some of the things I'm all for ambiguity. I'm all for vagueness and mystery and revealing plot when the moment is necessary. Absolutely Eat That, that's my forte, that's exactly what I love in storytelling, that's my kind of storytelling, but I think trying to make it sound more complex than it is by labeling things in this different way and Strange doesn't serve the plot in any way. and calling people weird names like dead man and hard man and Hartman, they all had an explanation and it was all logical, but it's all, it's nothing, it's all these weird banana things that some people love because it's Kojima and they love that kind of weirdness, more power to you.
I'm glad you like that stuff. Personally I think the story has a lot of potential and a lot of it was so serious most of the time that little things like that got on my nerves. I'm all for funny, comedic moments, but just when the time was right and this felt like it wasn't the right time from time to time, I was super into it and then, as a good example, it's all the weird stuff in the private room. with Norman, all that stuff is delicious, go ahead, it's all weird, it's all weird and I guess it's perpendicular to the game and it clashes with some of the themes because it's so ridiculous and like the otter hat and all that. but those have their moments and they work, but then they're serious scenes and then a crypto biography comes up and you try to grab it and then Dead Man says haha, Finders Keepers and then burps in your face, that all felt a little childish. and a little out of place, I think it has a place, it's just that in certain scenes they fit together strangely.
What else can we talk about? I've talked about the story and what it all really means and I hope a lot of it actually makes sense. I still don't know a lot of it, but I think I understood it well and I think I explained a lot of things pretty well as they were happening and then at the end of the game things started to develop and everything started to make more sense as we did it, so which I still don't know why Cliff has the scar, maybe Emily brought him back, um just to summarize, Emily Bridget, exactly the same person that one is in this world and the other is in the next. world one is on the beach one is here Bridget is the physical manifestation of her that's why she ages um but they are the same entity basically like lochner and mom are the same now because mom is on the beach forever but she merged with Lochner um like the same character, so it has the same concept.
The only difference with Amelie is that she is an Extinction entity, so she is extremely powerful and she has all this supernatural ability to be able to pass it on to other people and share it with them. Basically, she has The Shining, so she could do it. She was an Extinction entity that just came into existence because humanity and the world needs an Extinction event to keep it under control and keep everything moving and keep everything balanced, so she was just born. and she was living and then she didn't know what was going on and she was Bridget and she was Amelie and then when she was 20 she was when she started acting whenI was 20 years old was when people started to realize what she was or maybe she started to realize what she is, but until then she was just an extension Entity of extinction waiting for the moment for things to start, then Manhattan happened, they were giving birth to a baby by emergency C-section, I don't know if the baby and those people and those things actually have a lot of meaning, who they really are, um, but at the end of the day, they really don't.
It doesn't matter, then they were giving birth to that baby. Well, this is where things get a little weird, so okay, this happened. a year before the Sam stuff the year before Emily put the cross on the bridge baby on the beach before that bridge maybe we filmed before Sam was shot as a bridge baby and brought to the beach Emily fixed it and sent it back because there was a strong connection with it, whatever, again, that part isn't important, but the important part is s

ending

it back. She opened that bridge before it was just our world.
The beach after death was disconnected, but she was doing that and she was in our world and there was already a connection. I guess so. that makes sense, so she was a bridge between Both Worlds, kind of a little connection and then bringing Sam and s

ending

him back opened up that connection more and suddenly there's a character that's in our world that shouldn't be in our world that the dead. He came back because the dead want him back, they're floating in our world and trying to get him back and suddenly the doors open and they realize that and they can get through before that, although in the Manhattan one I guess.
The bridge is already open a little bit thanks to Emily and Bridget, so they came after the baby was brain dead and then the baby was born by C-section and then I guess that opens the bridge a little more. Something came through a BT. uh she interacted with particles in our world boom she nullified all the dead Manhattan exploded a year later they're doing the BB experiments she has the Hardman mask because the Hardman mask blocks your identity apparently I think that's what he said he did um or at least the dead man said about her oh no she took it off she said it hides more than just my face so it hides your identity in your existence because she had no records so she had that on so Bridget the President of the United States, could I continue.
BB's experiments probably because she knew what was going to happen, she knew that BBS needed to exist to close gaps, open chiral networks and all that kind of stuff to promote the extinction event or prevent it, but at the time I don't think so. she even knows he just is and is working on instinct, then bringing him back opens him up more and suddenly that break, the gateway opens bigger than ever before and suddenly emptiness started happening everywhere , also known as death stranding, so that's when death stranding started happening, the Manhattan thing was the first void that happened, but death stranding itself was the EXT, that was the mass that killed a bunch of people , so a lot of voids occurred at the same time, particles that interacted with each other, annihilating each other.
Each other boom cancels out, um, so that's it and then things start to progress, they start using Bridge babies to sacrifice themselves to open chiral relays and then Cupid interacts with that to promote the software to open the chiral Network. , the Chiral Network then uses the beaches to send information, basically opening that bridge bigger than it's ever been, and Amelie is an oft-broadcast extinction event. I talked about my image here that everything is a beach. controlled by it is basically like a magnifying glass and a prism to create the ultimate stranding. There's a lot more nuance to that.
There's a lot more to talk about regarding that, but I think I understand pretty well what the story is. now it's um, but I'd be happy to hear more theories in the comments. I'm going to go out and watch a bunch of videos about what it all really means to see if my theory lines up with everything else, this is just my interpretation of what I've accumulated throughout it, but I've really enjoyed reading in this game and all that, so I think I understand it, but I would gladly be wrong and argue and debate it because I love this.
Going back to the characters and stuff and the game itself, the gameplay works when it delivers things. I liked it when he delivered things. I liked it when I could go to different places and deliver things and climb mountains and everything, it's tedious but it works. it's what the game is designed to do in the first place, to get that part working when combat starts. I hate the combat with a burning passion because it just wasn't fun, I think when you start doing the shooting mechanics and all that is when the third one. The in-person shooter comes into play and everything about delivering things that are fun is subjective because the idea of the game is to fight and struggle to get to where you need to be and when you finally get there and take a shower and all that really makes you feel relieved . but I think the combat is the most video game-like aspect and it just didn't feel right, yeah that's a better way to say it, it's not that it didn't feel fun, it didn't feel right, it felt like I was constantly fighting.
Against the mechanics of the game, when shooting I also had to deal with loading and I also had to deal with balance. Loading and balance are the key fundamentals of the game, but then when you start shooting. him and all these other characters are barely affected by him and I have to do all this combat while also doing all this other stuff, it just fell apart, it was super annoying, super frustrating. Sometimes I got really angry with the game because it lags, this game suffers. What a lot of modern Uncharted 4 games do is the same thing and I complained about that in that series too.
It has too many animations. It's very realistic. It looks very good. But when it comes to fundamentally playing the game, it lags. Doesn't respond. It is annoying for normal users. delivery is fine, it's perfect, it does what it has to do because you have your time, you have your rhythm, you can go at the pace you want, but when the fight starts, when BTS comes into action, everything completely falls apart because suddenly you have to do it. these fast and reactionary things with a game that is not based on fast and reactionary movements and you saw it in some cases, it is very difficult to show all those times where I feel like I am falling everywhere and the characters move further than they should.
They should, that's all. because I'm not doing anything sometimes the characters just fall down sometimes they walk in One Direction the momentum of the entire character on their back carries them forward Troy's fight was a good example Higgs's fight on the beach because I kept trying to hide behind it off the rocks but he kept walking a little further than he should, he wanted a little movement, it was like a couple of steps and that drives me crazy, I hate those things, um and then trying to get away from the mules and trying to hit them and Sometimes the animation was longer, Troy's fight is also a good example, sometimes it's a punch, sometimes it's a rope punch where he goes like this and backhands them and I literally have no control over any of it. that and that becomes very frustrating when I'm trying to do when I know what I have to do.
I'm trying to do it and then I'm fighting the game controls to do it, so the things I didn't like, delivering exploration, all of those things are exactly what they should be. and I really enjoyed it but the combat and boss fights and stuff not great, the boss fights were okay they were just too easy and the only times I really died was from that stuff again when I got stuck in the tower . and Inky Blackness and I was trying to escape and suddenly everything is super slow and just falls apart, um, but whatever it was, it didn't ruin the whole game for me, I still liked it, that's what I need to reiterate too .
I still really like the game, the story, the concepts, the premise, the world, the amazing sound design and it's just little things here and there that turned into big things that pissed me off a little and in such a long game and so tedious to do it. it just shines a light on them a little bit more um the characters in the game that I didn't really care about, I just didn't have a connection with any of them. I like Sam, I like Bibi um, I like Mass Mickelson's character because he had depth Mass Mickelson's character has the most depth in the game, even Beyond character Norman Reedus, everyone else says I don't care, that They were saying things and you were supposed to be attached to them and everything that I just wasn't feeling. invested in them and then it makes some of the ideas go unnoticed because sometimes I get distracted when they talk because they just don't say anything um and the whole premise of him going west to do all this stuff just didn't seem like the key motivation was there. there, he was very stubborn, he was a very amazing defender of him, like no, I'm not going to do this, I'm not going to touch anyone, I'm not doing anything to everyone and me.
I was like, okay, what are they going to do to convince him to do this? And it's like if Emily wasn't out west and you had to go save her, it just didn't feel like that to me, that would be the spark to get that character to do that especially. going all over US 90 on foot and almost dying constantly, it doesn't feel like that character did that and then when it got to the end and it's like you need to go back, it just felt like all these things were happening. just for the sake of it happening and the pins to really like to pin that weren't there um again the things that were happening were okay, it's just the way of getting to them that felt all over the place so sometimes my enjoyment of the game it was like oh yeah, uh, oh yeah, uh, like there's a lot of ups and downs all the time, but I'd love to hear your opinion.
I'm trying not to be too hard on the game but I feel like you're here watching me play this game for like 30 hours at this point, it's the longest story based game let's play I've ever done on the God of War channel was the longest at the time and it was 20 hours and this is about 30. um, but I feel like if you're here and you're watching it and everything, you're here to hear my thoughts and my opinions; Otherwise, you can go watch someone play without feedback if you really don't want to hear anyone's opinions or watch someone who loves the game if you don't want to hear any kind of complaints about it.
Still I liked it a lot. I think it could have been a lot better, but I still think what Kojima achieved was really good. Having that kind of vision to have that kind of story and world building really feels like a world built and it has a lot of story, so having all that dialogue and all those things resolved and all these characters and all those visual images , the visual imagery in the game was amazing, having a ball as a connection to the other world like that baby is very relatable, everything had such amazing visuals that as soon as you see it you think of this game as the threads coming together and they look like dim, ghostly Inky stuff incredibly well done, um, crying after a chiral allergy, whatever, complicated terms and all very flashy, like seeing a character just cry after something like that, it sticks in your head. the head, the BTS themselves, the umbilical cords.
It all looked really cool, but I don't know how he managed to pull it off so consistently. The mechanics, the buildings, the structures, the bikes, the vehicles, the clothing, everything felt like it belonged in that world. It was so incredibly consistent. with himself, again, I don't know how you think that, it's an incredible artistic and creative mind to be able to think of this and bring it to execution maybe it's not the perfect execution, but what is this game and how did they achieve it and what Kojima did from your brain to the video game is nothing less than Wizardry and for that you have my utmost respect and as a creative person who wants to create worlds and wants to create characters, stories and all these types of things I am, I am already trying to do it and discovering how difficult which is doing it, hats off to him for that kind of stuff and this game was made in three years and I have no idea how that's done either, um, but Overall, it's a good game and I'm glad I played it.
I'm glad you saw it. I'm glad we're here. I'm glad we're at the end and I'm glad we had an experience because this. It's one of those series that 10 years from now, 20 years from now, I'll still remember playing this game for YouTube, all these long plays that have such a striking feel and atmosphere and vibe. and we have been here every day together living in this and having fun. I will never forget it and I hope you had a lot of fun watching it. Share the series with other people if you haven't seen it. They are undecided about that stranding.
I'd like to think I did a decent job on the game and the series as a whole. Leave a like on this video and the series in general if you enjoyed everything. If you found me. via Death Stranding, why not consider subscribing? There will be many other long games in the future and I really enjoyed this type ofcontent. It's like this kind of thing. That's why I started on YouTube in the first place and I'm glad. We're still here in 2019, seven years later, still doing this kind of stuff, but I could talk all day about this game, maybe I'll do a livestream at some point talking more about it after I've learned more, but this video is.
As long as it is and I could talk all day, so thank you all so much for watching me. I had an incredible experience and until the next series I will see you, so let's say one more goodbye. Sam, give it to us overseas. Who knows Sam? We will never know.
