Dancing with Death "Reloaded"

Jun 03, 2021
Keeping venomous reptiles is a relentless hobby that requires proper training and a lot of experience. A simple mistake can be the difference between life and

death

. Remember that the most poisonous snake in the world is the one that just bit you. There are no venomous snakes with training wheels just for the sake of it. If you see Viper Keeper handle snakes in a certain way, it doesn't mean you should try it too. Hi, Viper Keeper here, normally my videos don't require any information for me. In fact, I like to stay off camera in those situations. being in front of the camera a lot more uh uh when I had something on my mind uh in this case I'm going to show a video that I captured with four different cameras from four different angles uh just to give everyone a perspective of what it's like when a black mamba six to 8 feet charges you and decides you need to be dead, it happened on October 28, 2015, many of you on the Face Viper Keeper Facebook page and those things saw the still image that I taken from the video of me backed up in the corner uh with this black mamba almost up to my waist with its face pointing up and I think what helped is that the floor is a little slippery because it's lacquered and I don't think the snake really got good traction uh initially I wasn't going to posting this video because of web trolls and armchair venomous snake keepers who of course can outdo me and you know, they know everything and that kind of stuff, um, you know.

Those people just need to have a life and just watch the videos and learn from them. I make mistakes? Yes, most likely. Should I have a bigger room? Maybe. My friend Jim Harrison said there's nothing like a black mamba or a big Bops. to make even the largest room look very small um uh you should have two hands uh another pair of hands on hand uh so to speak um uh you could have however uh what's worse than one person biting into a black mamba is two people taking a bite from a black mamba um, which could certainly happen with the speed at which this animal moves, its fluidity and its ability to bite you multiple times as it passes by you, anyone who has had black mambas for a long time, you know , this is a very common feature. and certainly people in Africa where this snake lives and people find it, they will tell you the same thing, there is nothing more dangerous than a cape buffalo than a black mamba at operating temperature, that's really pissed off, remember these snakes they can go 14 m thousand per hour uh these are the fastest snakes on the planet um now uh the way the video will play like first uh it will show me uh boxing a smaller black mamba that was wild caught the year before um and they were all going to My uh to another zoo's breeding program where we're breeding four or five species of black mothers, so I put it in a box and then I take this big polyp that gives me a hard time, this bad time.

More Interesting Facts About,

I said it was cut, captured by four cameras I had running because I had a feeling this was not going to be an easy task. The first camera you'll see video from is up there on the wall. one of the webcams and might take note that sometimes the webcams disconnect and reconnect in less than a couple of seconds so there are some points where the frames may seem to skip, you know, I didn't have nothing to do with that. that's how it is, so that's the first camera, the second camera will be from a GoPro camera that's sitting on a chair there in that corner, near the air conditioner pointing this way so you can see it more or less. hitting the deck and chasing me into the corner basically from knee level the third and fourth views will come from up on the wall a camera looking down over my shoulder so you get that view and then a camera up on the butts of popcorn and stuff for the last view and I'll run all four views and sequence uh uh from roughly the same start and end point so you can get an idea after the madness is over and That Mamba was sure.

I went and boxed the big Western Green Mamba that was going to participate again in our breeding program that I have going on. So that's pretty much going to end the video. It was a pretty intense experience. It was me or the Mamba, so unfortunately I got a little harsh using my snake hook as a sword, but you know the snake is fine, the snake is fine, like I said, this took place on October 28th and today in November. 8. So the snake has had time to acclimatize. He is in a cage with two other large mambas.

So they are one big happy family. So everything is fine, but I still prefer not to do anything that hurts the animal, but like you. I'll see in my case, uh, uh, the animal left me no choice until, you know, I hit it really good and it decided then that it was going to move away from me and not towards me, which is the way I prefer it. All said here's the video It's called

okay rock and roll there's a number oh you're alive okay I was worried there are several animals that are going on loan for breeding just to increase the number of animals in the breed group with I already have five five or six uh well not five or six 1 2 three like four black bomas and I'm increasing that number to six I have nails and females um Um, we have, we laid several eggs, but those eggs were...
Not all of them survived except one, and some that were working at the zoo actually killed the viable egg, so we're still trying to raise the polyp um actually in multiple locations uh it doesn't seem to be working for some reason. I think uh they're not cooling and cycling properly afterwards um so any R uh two polyps are shooting up uh the verius uh uh will be coming out just like several other animals uh we're going to deal with this very moody wild polius C and the reason why we're going to do that is because it's smaller than this C to raise one that you guys can see, but uh Here she's there and she's already flattening the neck, so what we're going to do is get things out of the way as much as possible. and see if we can convince the being to get into a bag.
The problem is that polyps are very, very elastic and. and press, they will come at you, uh, the bigger the polyp I have, it's not afraid of me at all and therefore it's much more dangerous, um, because of, just because of that, hello, I guess I don't work at often with you, right? another email eh another email come on come on behave I know you don't want to get out of there yes yes yes I see I see that you are very very unhappy we can see from that posture that uh that looks like a the boy is not terribly happy, oh great, Mr.
Camera off, well I'm not going to do it, yeah, we're up and running, aren't we? to regroup, go ahead and get in there, okay, I'm not surprised, the Mamba wants to run away as soon as he hits the ground, so we need to take a different path, yeah, you don't want to go out and, uh, play, right? I want you to be left alone, well believe me, if I could leave you alone, I would leave you alone, but you need to be transported, so that's the situation, okay, then, okay, let's have another try, yeah, Come on, you're good, did someone break? your ribs at some point, huh, did someone break your ribs?
Okay, these are called action hackers. They are my first choice for transporting very dangerous snakes. I can't get out of there easily. What if I have a car accident. When I was on the road, I basically had to get hit by a Mac truck for this to open and Mamba probably won't survive either, so, you know, people say, "Oh, Al, you make it look easy." Al had nothing to do. with that, the snake actually made everything run smoothly, really the snakes are in control, folks, uh, yeah, it takes a really good skill set to do this, but you know I've seen people who have handled dozens of thousands more. poisonous snakes that I have like Jim Harrison and you know I've seen snakes give it a hard time uh it all depends a lot on uh from an and not necessarily from the Handler um yeah, from time to time I have some very impressive moves and stuff, but sometimes well, that's just not going to get out of there, well, this will make this task even more difficult, and this is a much larger polyp than the last one.
Hello, yes, I know you don't want to come. This is a huge po, probably six to seven feet tall, who I know infinitely because I've had him for quite a while. Come on, don't make me use the tauns to get your ass out of here. Not really, really. I like to use the Gentle Giants to extract animals, but this is a very large and very dangerous snake that I would much prefer. No, holy shit, you little bastard, you're a mother, come on, don't make me use the T to throw. Your ass out of here I don't really use gentle Giants to extract animals, but this is a very big and very dangerous snake that I would much rather, you know, holy shit, you little bastard, you're a mother, come on, don't do it.
Make me use the tongs to get your ass out of there. I really don't like using gentle Giants to extract animals, but this is a very large and very dangerous snake. Then I would much rather not, no, holy, little one. You bastard, you're a mother, come on, don't make me use the tongs to get your ass out of there. I really don't like using gentle Giants to extract animals, but this is a very large and very dangerous snake. so I'd rather never know, oh little bastard, you're a mother, you know, do you remember uh uh from the movie Jaws, we need a bigger boat, well, definitely, with snakes like this I need a bigger room and that's one of the reasons why I'm uh, I'm sending these to a place that has space because being backed in the corner by a lepus cop that comes up to your waist when you're angry and excited, is not my idea, a fun, fun time, no, for you, yes, I know. you want to go back to your cage why do I want you to go back to your cage?
Come on, part of the problem is that I have to partially disassemble myself to be able to use Plex. I don't really have another pair of hands, this is what you called a mamba showdown, so you decided M, okay, I have no choice. A man drives just po beastly, okay, that's going to be really interesting when we open that box somehow. The action required when the opening just doesn't quite cover it now if you think It was fun, I have to do the Western Green next, but first I need to clean this poop off the floor.
Well, the good thing about that particular encounter was that I'm pretty sure the big monster I just faced off with is a woman, the other one is a smaller man, uh, so that's another nice boost of blood in the reading project, you just have to use the gentle Giants, but as I tell everyone, it is the weapon of last resort, um, it is also known as a self-preservation weapon as I said earlier, working with these snakes depends solely on cooperation of the tank and only raise the driving technique to the level of the gentle Giants when the situation is out of control or in danger.
In this case, the situation is almost out of control and it is much easier to deal with the situation by simply dealing with it as quickly and easily as possible now, although this Western Green is probably not a problem like the Poli Lepus with the I just dealt with these things are very nervous and Al the skish snakes my problem with the Western Green here is that this snake will probably have a tendency to want to climb up the roof of the tree and there are no trees here. except things that look like trees like me and the racks, so you know this guy or girl is pretty happy.
Where is the? Hello, you want to go on a trip. Do you think you can do this quietly, without much fanfare? I really appreciate it, so let's look at this now and I'll behave. The only time he's really been outside is cleaning the cage and he's already resisting and I think this might be a girl. Hey, let me put you there, come on, relax. The beautiful animal, come on, just cooperate, I know that's not in your dictionary, but let's try it, come easy, easy, I'm not trying to bother you, your head has to be right where I left it, eh, come on, let's difference. the Black Mamba, this guy will walk away from you normally, come on, there are no climbing hooks, well that's unfortunate, come on, relax here, go back to your cage, come on, let's try this again, oh come on, come on, yeah , now we are biting each other, huh.
Because we're getting so mad P no we're not going under ELD this is the cage stick your tail in there okay one important thing I learned from my friend Don is to never push a bad position sorry Pogo , okay, that's all for this. room i
