She toured eight different cities, places like Zurich, Alfalfa and Basil, according to her she was very talented. to allison sherman a spokesperson for the martha graham school to make a living monica would start dancing in gobo bars in times square when sex shops and sex workers on the street were routine among the places where she danced was billy's topless located in the 24th street in new chelsea neighborhood of york city, a small place that looked more like a bar than a strip club.
Billy's only contained a small bar and a little over 20 chairs that would surround the stage. A modest establishment but enough for Monica to remain financially stable. She was very close. to her family and spent a lot of time talking about them her family and the art of dance were the two things that monica really couldn't live without she was focused and nothing could stand in her way in the summer of 1989 monica would find herself on the Lower East Side, a place he frequented often where he would meet up with friends and stop by to buy marijuana.
She was also living there at the time when she was living alone at 171 Avenue B after leaving her old apartment at 93 Orchard Street. where she met Daniel Rakowitz, a traveling hippie marijuana enthusiast and part-time drug dealer from Edna, Texas, also the son of a Texas deputy sheriff. Rakowitz was described as a troubled soul who had his first brush with grief at a young age when witnessing his mother suffer a fatal heart attack in a hotel room. His father would later marry Rakowitz's aunt, his late sister. wife but this would also come to an end as the years passed Daniel's loved ones would mention his darkest moments as a teenager becoming addicted to the drugs he would take on his way from Texas to Missouri and finally to the Lower East Side of the New York City, where he earned the nickname Chicken Man.
Locals remember that Rakowicz had a pet rooster and would sometimes walk through the park with a dead chicken wrapped around his neck. Rakowitz made the money from him. as a dishwasher and worked odd jobs while couch surfing over the years trying to find stability, he finally found his footing and began staying at 700 East 9th Street, just a few blocks from the park, at the apartment's front door was written "Welcome". to charlie gein's spawning ranch to the east a combination of the names ed gein and charles manson when the two met they shared a joint and talked about living in the city monica was looking for a bigger place when daniel suggested she move into the apartment with him and the Others who also resided there, she could afford it and it gave her the opportunity to have a better space.
She accepted and the two celebrated at some more venues. She also paid Daniel's back rent so he would be up to date and unable to. In order not to be expelled, Daniel was afraid of becoming

homeless

again and dreaded the idea that, when he had the opportunity to earn an income, he would visit a slaughterhouse and buy chickens, sometimes 20 at a time, slaughter them and cook them. in a soup and then I would have that soup. or whatever he cooked and handed out to the homeless men, women and children in Tophkat Square Park. If he couldn't earn the money, he would go to a nearby supermarket and ask for change and use it to buy ingredients for food.
He knew what it was. It was like being homeless and although it was not a place to rest, the inhabitants of Tent City would appreciate your kind gestures. Tent City was what they called Thompson Square Park. The first week of August 1989, Monica's belongings appeared in the apartment and the move was in. underway according to a friend who also lived at the residence. A woman named Sylvia Daniel prepared for Monica's arrival in a way she had not seen before. He had cleaned the house in optimal condition for her arrival. she was as comfortable as possible and on one occasion Sylvia came home and found herself knocking on the door to come in when Daniel took a while to answer when he did he was adjusting his zipper and pants and said he was busy and would come by to introduce him to Sylvia .
Monica and explained that she would be moving out and taking over the lease the next day. Sylvia and Monica had a conversation and Sylvia decided to ask Monica about the relationship between her and Daniel, since everything was moving very quickly and it was never known that Daniel had women at home. I asked her the next day because I thought Daniel was playing a trick. joke I said daniel told me it was with you monica's response he gave a short and serious answer the two had a brief sexual relationship that lasted only a few weeks during that time celia Tell Daniel that Monica's affection for him was as real as his desire to take the apartment from her now that the rent was in his name.
Daniel, denying that he was being used, responded defensively that she doesn't, but she cares about me and she wants to live. with me and she wants to be my roommate. Sylvia's response, Daniel, she wants the apartment and she's going to take it from under you. She will have the lease in her name and once it is in her name, she will kick you out and me. I won't be here anymore and there's nothing she can say when she moves out of the lease, so if she kicks you out, you're out of her and homeless again. Daniel responded that he loved Monica, nothing could change his mind as long as Daniel was there.
Falling in love Monica didn't feel the same way about Daniel She broke off the sexual part of their relationship almost immediately and began inviting other men to the apartment On one occasion she invited a Jamaican man to spend the night with her Daniel would later tell Sylvia she he had a black man there and he went on to say that he seemed hurt and seemed to be very upset by this, this was because daniel had a deep and sometimes well hidden dislike for anyone who was not white and also not white. He liked the gay community, so while he may be portrayed with people from all walks of life, he didn't see them exactly as equals.
His hatred was deep. Rakowicz would often start ranting and talking about how he was God. He even started what was believed. was his own religion, a slash cult that the church of 966 coined, talked about animal sacrifice and it was believed that some time before Rakowicz had decapitated a dog he had, he talked about having been committed to psychiatric wards at a young age and was forced to take Ritalin between the ages of 9 and 11. According to him, other children bullied him, hit him and spit on him, if he fought back, his father would beat him worse as the days went by and Rakowicz, whom Monica barely knew, became increasingly strange, her friends urged her to get him out of the house, since he always said something they just couldn't understand.
His constant rants about the government and being God didn't sit well with others and having the church of 966 written on the walls in chicken blood definitely didn't help. Daniel begged and pleaded in every way possible to get Monica to like him again. . He tried to change her mind but she already made up her mind. Daniel needed to leave and began to understand the severity of his living situation and her worst fears began to return to her mind: he would be homeless again and all of his good deeds would be forgotten. He watched television for hours on end at night, a habit he had acquired since he finally settled into a home. or close to reaching its end, I'm going to kill her, I don't love her, I'm not going to kill her.
Those were the alarming words that came out of Daniel's mouth when it became clear that he would find himself back on the street with the others who lived in the apartment at that time. moment she didn't take daniel's plan seriously, she says so many things in the past that this just seemed like another crazy thing, she said on august 12, 1989, sylvia flat out told monica what daniel had been saying when she found out about daniel's plan . fiddle plan for her, she would laugh, walk up to daniel in front of sylvia and simply tell him "i'll kill you first", about a week later, rakowitz had been walking sylvia to a nearby train and explained to her that he could no longer put up with monica he was going to kill her the next day and he wanted Sylvia to come back and help him dispose of her body.
Sylvia of course wanted to know parts of this and told him he was crazy for even thinking she would help him, he didn't pay without thinking and she went about her business and didn't return to town until that Saturday when she returned she looked out the window of the monica's apartment and saw that the lights were off this was unusual since there was usually someone home she could sense that something was terribly wrong despite her instincts she pushed them aside and went up the stairs anyway as she walked towards the stairs she could Hearing that Daniel's TV was on with the volume turned up at full volume, he opened the door and could see Daniel's TV on the kitchen counter, the area dimly lit. next to the television he checked the old room to make sure his old belongings were in good condition but he noticed that Monica's door was closed, he knocked but there was no response when he returned to the kitchen this time entering, not only seeing her from afar he noticed a large pot On the stove and inside the pot was Monica Beeru's head, the head was burned and the eyes were closed,Surprised by the discovery, Sylvia went to the bathroom, stood right outside and looked at what she saw turned upside down. her stomach and the reality finally set in rakowitz had really done it.
She saw Monica's ribcage lying in the bathtub with all the skin and flesh ripped off the bone surrounding her upper torso where Monica's guts were submerged in her own blood. Sylvia immediately left the apartment and ran to a nearby phone booth on Avenue A and called Daniel's page when he called back he asked Daniel did you do it his answer did you see it Sylvia I'm sorry you had to see it but I had to do it The two met in Thompkin Square Park, where he continued to apologize for what she had seen and explained to her in more detail what had happened.
Daniel went on to explain that he was not alone when he committed the murder, he was with a friend from a satanic church in the Brooklyn section of New York. Monica had told Rakowicz that he had to leave the apartment the next day if he refused to leave her. her friend with a hole. Bull would arrive to help her get it out, she returned to her room and Daniel's friend would ask her why you didn't kill her, but Monica came out again and started yelling at her friend since she didn't like Daniel or The company he kept as she walked away with her back to him to walk towards her room Daniel grabbed an extension cord and wrapped it around Monica's neck pulling her violently towards him and then grabbing her by the neck with his bare hands he began to strangle her. the 26-year-old girl. dancer until her body no longer moved, Monica did her best to fight Daniel, scratching him up and down his arms after choking Monica to death, stomped on her head about 10 times, and then stabbed her more than 30 times. times and then cut it.
His head severed her arms and legs, and she left her remains in the blood-soaked bathtub while he figured out what to do next. Rackowitz then used a solid steel pole to break her bones and then a 13-inch carving knife to cut into her body. into small pieces, he then began flushing her remains down the toilet and kept some in the refrigerator. He would then consume parts of her body over the next 10 days after Monica's remains began to severely decompose in the late summer heat, prompting Daniel to begin eliminating. He then began bleaching the rest of the skin and flesh on her body to eliminate lingering odors.
As if those details weren't gruesome enough, rumors began to circulate that Daniel had boiled Monica's head and turned her flesh into soup that he would then pass to the homeless in Tompkins Square Park. He had done this many times before, only this time anyone in Tompkins Square Park who had accepted Daniel's kind gesture could now consider themselves a cannibal. He told Sylvia, who at the time had not done so. She didn't say anything out of pure fear that he was cleaning up the scene so she could return to the house one day for a visit. She walked by and Monica's skull was still in the apartment, this time it looked like an anatomical skull used in classrooms every time she remembered Monica and got angry, she would spit on Monica's skull and say well hey , at least you will always have a house.
She looks more beautiful now than she ever did after cleaning the apartment for hours and leaving it free of any evidence. Raku was then grabbed a bucket containing Monica's skull bones and cat litter to absorb any lingering odors. The bucket was then transported to the baggage screening facility at the port authority bus terminal and placed in a storage locker where no one would be able to find it, it would be a month early. Authorities began looking for clues about Monica's disappearance. This was because she did not show up for class and did not return any calls from her home.
This was very unusual for Monica. Furthermore, Daniel had begun to talk about Monica's brutal murder and dismemberment with anyone who would listen as the information spread quickly and it became clear that this was no longer a Lower East Side urban legend, even confirming the claims that were made. They believed exaggerated, such as claims that Monica's remains were turned into soup and given to the homeless for dinner. They were confirmed when a man who lived in Topkin Square Park testified that while eating the soup he found a knuckle floating among the vegetables and potatoes. Rakowitz also claimed to have tested her brain and thinking that he tasted, quote, pretty good, he told numerous people that he had eaten.
Monica's remains more than once despite recanting his claims later, Rakowicz had told everyone and everyone about the murder before and after committing it, as shocking and sadistic as the bloody scene was, there was no doubt that rakowitz had officially gone crazy on monday in september. Detectives from the 18th District visited the house on 9th Street and found Sylvia there, they were told that they knew what happened from a neighbor and another family member, a man named Sean, this of course was a lie, the police officers did not know nothing and they used this tactic. as a way to get information from Sylvia, who told him everything they wanted to know after her arrest.
Daniel was taken into custody, where he confessed to the brutal execution and dismemberment of Monica Beale in February 1991. Daniel Rakowitz was found not guilty by reason of insanity. He was then transferred to a state hospital for the criminally insane, where he still resides to this day. That friend he had mentioned earlier, a man named Randy Charles Easterday, was captured in February 1992 for participating in the murder, but was released. shortly after, as the DA did not have enough evidence to hold him, rest in peace, Monica Beale, thank you all so much for stopping by and watching today's video.
This particular story is crazy to me because it's an area I'm very familiar with. I spent a lot of time there in my youth playing shows, went to a school in the area and was around older people. Sometimes I had heard about these types of stories, but you hear it in passing and it is not something that you take very seriously, you think that it is just People talk about these urban myths, but indeed I started making this type of content and with what I find myself in this case, flashbacks automatically appear thinking about all the things I had heard before.
What do you think? You could keep this kind of secret. Do you think you could be close to a friend who committed this type of crime and keep it to yourself? Would it be more because you feel you have loyalty to him? more because you are simply afraid. I'm going to say that for a lot of people it would be the latter. This is something I should start saying at the beginning of my videos, but if you're a new viewer, feel free to do so. The algorithm can be quite complicated, of course, if you're just passing through, that's fine too. I appreciate every view. I thank everyone who supports now, friends always. Remember to keep a closed circle, be careful with your surroundings and don't trust too quickly those you just met because you never know who around you could have bad intentions. I'm out
