Cummins Swapping a Mustang. How Hard CAN IT BE?

and a little problem it was a little bit shredded it came from louisiana probably had an alligator who knows what happened to it and we needed some parts for that car we will buy a replacement car and oh yeah we will take all the parts from the parts car put it in the new

we bought but we won't finish the must yet yeah that's a story from a different time and we'll talk about that later it sparked an idea an idea my mind sort of took and ran with it we should take and put a

from a big truck in this little car now let me start by saying i may not be able to do it the engine is going to be too heavy for the car and its a lot of work to figure out if its going to work or not where you have to take apart the car completely to see if the engine is going to fit and if it doesn't it's a lot of wasted work so when you put it like that it sounds like a silly idea doesn't it?

We are the king of dumb ideas so I guess let's just hit that subscribe button and keep going, yeah this has been one of my smartest ideas ever. alright guys this is the mustang in question uh it needs some work this car was some kind of dukes of hazard and they jumped it so we need to take this to the garage and fix that part and then get the engine out done guys ok huh how are we going to get it down i have an idea i'll be right back i've got a big cat this right here is a lot like trying to find a hole in the dark i really can't see where i'm going and i could really make a fool of myself we need to chain it up wait i'm going to put it up in neutral okay come on put it in neutral weightlifting cant you put it in neutral westin why not no button geez dammit step right there holy that doesnt make me feel fat look at this im back on the ground again im back on the ground again felt like flying through the air whoever's alright guys we've got the red mustang in the garage thanks to our 95 horsepower jack now i think the first thing we should do is take this wheel off here and see how much damage we take Heading into this you may not have understood what I meant when I said this card has been Dukes of Hazard this car has jumped like I think that's what happened to it because ed has jumped all over this strut and everything in this. the corner is bent so let's go ahead and remove the wheel we'll take the strut out to see if there's anything else that's messed up in the suspension why we're bringing it up here I've got a new strut to put on it if that's all it's well we'll go ahead and put a new strut on it that way we can still roll the car and move it wherever we are we're going to go ahead and take this thing apart and see exactly what's wrong with we take the strut out of the car and if you can feel a little bit here they put it here on the workbench yeah it's a little better can you give an idea obviously there's the new one without the sprinkler and there's the old one straight bent straight okay I need to figure out how we're going to Getting that spring out of that one to that one oh my gosh that almost makes me feel bad for taking this little motor out because it works we got the strut.

The solution has the new spring there. I guess it's time we start getting the engine out of this car. Yes I know. all good guys it's the next day uh we're back here at the shop and let me show you what we did at the cumin swap mustang last night it was actually surprisingly much it didn't take that long to take it apart come here let me show you, oh yeah, there it is and all its pride and glory, yeah we took it apart, the only thing holding that engine is a little bit of gravity and, yeah, that's it, it's all gravity. so this is the first step to the next swap process is getting this little motor out and realistically it comes apart very easily actually it comes together very easily to take apart which I guess is good for us. it's going to fit still but we're going to get this motor out and then we're going to give it a go so I guess there's nothing to do just to do it let's go ahead and grab some change take the motor lift and uh see if we can get this out of here ok i'll be right back ok maybe we better not do it that way i'll come back with a better method of removal i can't believe i thought it worked now i got it yeah that didn't work okay come on get in there get in there anyway this thing is just inviting us to get its engine out that's right it just wants to be such a badly chained smoke sting real quick and wrap this engine up and uh start pulling cross the fingers hope luck and all goes well i think there's a chain in there we got the engine ready to start there's a chain all the way around now what we're going to have to do is grab the peck here forward here and slide it slide it go in go in there go in there help to your brother brother and oh we need this thing out of here a stack or not ASAP that's awful come on push it in there oh yeah yeah it all looks good now that we've got the cherry picker here we'll go ahead and hook up our chain now we're going to have to grab and pull this motor out a bit and then i'm going to have to unhook the wires going to the starter i can't really get to where it is right now so i guess without further ado whalen is getting accurate, already pulling it oh my gosh it's coming out wait wait keep going ok pull it back in there we'll put it on. just a hair ok ok you want to stop this right there perfect ok take another look at they actually made a cut in the cover to fit to get the motor out there are a lot of people change these stuff ok give it a few more times yeah give it a good oh no i know what we mean what did you unbolt that exhaust? pry bar and crowbar that can lift up oh there it's all good now finally this time it's ready to go oh you're stuck on something really stupid go back we're trying to figure out what was stopping us from coming look the chain got hung up on the crossbar push it back Back off a bit, okay, we're going good, wait, wait, wait, oh yeah, look at the bounce, we went up high enough, oh yeah, the reason this is still here is that we didn't want to evacuate the system A/C still because a friend of mine will come out and drain it for us that way we won't let the freon leak in there and smoke out of our own shop it's pretty clear I think it's ready at the moment of truth oh god mine it comes out vroom I'm a

it's actually a lot more snug your last time when the cold start comes in handy I'm just seeing how the cummins will feel when it's here you know realistically this is my thinking My idea is if the car can hold me it probably could hold the cummins up guys the small engine is off and there's room for a big engine or there's room for a big westin to sit there so there's probably room for a big one Engine, we're going to try to expertly catalog a 12 valve down there in that hole, we don't know if it's going to work, but we're going to try, if it works, it's going to be one of the most epic things.

I've ever done and probably the most amazing just imagine a 12 valve sitting here doing a big smoke stop going here it's going to be epic I mean I'm so excited for this it's going to fit and we don't know? but anything can be fixed with a big enough crowbar and a big enough hammer, so we can probably get in there now, there's a bunch of things we'll have to fix to make this work. to make a radiator to fit all the little things but we don't need none of that is who needs a radiator if only cummins don't need radiators sometimes they just come out air cooled regardless we're going to figure out how to put this car together and we're going to do something amazing with this thing or the smoke or the cup uh I don't know we're going to have to think of a name for it I like the smoke stain I think that's what we want.

I'll call him anyway, regardless of whether some of you are wondering where our other red Ford Mustang is, and I'll tell you that the old man who's helping me straighten the frame on that car doesn't like working in the cold.
