grandmother

's house in Puerto Rico instead of

her. The progressive Democrat tweeted that her

grandmother

recently fell ill and that she visited her for the first time in more than a year because of covid. Ocasio-Cortez then blamed former President Trump for her condition, the New York congresswoman whose salary is $174,000 a year. year paid for by taxpayers now she's getting hit online here's a sample of aoc my grandma can't fix her roof without a bailout from washington also she's letting her grandma live in squalor in

puerto

rico

and my favorite love you drive a Tesla and you have two apartments, if your grandmother lives poor it's because you don't help her.

I'm surprised that a socialist doesn't redistribute that wealth. to her grandmother, sad to her, sean duffy. I'll start with you on this part of what was so shocking was the pictures of her apartment right, that's why the public reacted so strongly, especially compared to a tesla and two luxury apartments, yeah, listen, she's not uh. without money she has no children she has no spouse 174,000 for a single person is a lot of money and that is why the socialists will make the government do what they can for themselves so that she can give her money she is going to help her grandmother, but the networks Social workers say no, no, that's not my responsibility, let the government do it, let the government take care of grandma, I want my Tesla and I want my next apartments, I'm not going to help her, it's actually embarrassing, Jenna is This criticism of her is valid, well I want to be clear that the criticism is only coming from a handful of people and then we are creating space for it in this particular conversation.

Sean, how do you know her grandmother is not well? I am pretty sure. She responded by saying don't worry, my grandmother is totally taken care of and just because she makes $174k a year she can't point out inequality and injustice, particularly in our response to the largest natural disaster in American history that claimed one life. of three thousand. so anyone who makes more than a hundred and seventy thousand dollars a year can't talk about social inequalities, how are you going to hold corporations that don't pay taxes accountable for that if you can't, if you can't talk? the talk, I mean she's probably walking here I don't know, I don't know why this is a conversation when her grandmother is doing well and she's not

helping

anyone but herself, she's lighting up on Twitter, I knew what they would be those photos. come on we know 170. she would have helped other people but instead she didn't wait, she waits for tigre, she raised her hand to be a congressman, how are you?, how could you say that? she's not like sitting happily on a beach somewhere I taught you how to choose her next version of her Tesla so she doesn't know and accepts a green car.

You're right, but you also don't know that her grandmother doesn't take full care of her. We have some data here like. She has an apartment in a luxury building in Washington DC, I know the area where she pays 2500, she pays 2500 a month, in reality, many Americans can't even afford that and the problem you talk about you can't point out in equity. Of course not AOC, why can't you point out the inequity if she makes 170k? Yes, now it's my turn. AOC only points out inequity when it's convenient for her political talking point and that's a fact because you remember those photos of her at the border. uh, complaining about how bad the conditions were, the squalor, where is she now when there are 13 year old girls urinating in bags under Biden's watch and the facilities he has set up?

Where is AOC on the border? Now he's at his grandmother's house because he thinks that's convenient, right, Jenna, and I'll let you take this as well as part of the question that I heard what you're saying about pointing at actions absolutely, but it seems like it falls disproportionately on the shoulders of the previous administration, so my question To you, do you see that there is a lack of acceptance on the part of the progressive left of the burden that they share, especially in perpetuating the cycle of dependency that our taxes pay for and that, frankly, it only perpetuates poverty and disconnection, especially from achievement within these classes emily I really appreciate that question, it's the smartest one yet and I don't know, it's hard for me not to see social programs as a foundation for the stability of this country, whether public schools or emergencies. rooms, whether it's water filtration systems, whether it's how we're creating more moments for people to be more civically engaged and I feel more left on that and I think dedicating more resources to people's basic human rights is wiser than creating tax cuts for the rich, but I think that's the most existential and intelligent question to date and one we should spend more time talking about and just a quick answer to you, Jenna, just a quick and respectful circle, can you respond if you feel that the progressive left disproportionately blames the previous administration for these inequalities and that there is no accountability whatsoever for the impact their actions have had, especially coming from the salvationist mentality of many people in power .
I think the previous administration eliminated a lot of the social programming and I mean going back to their conservative financial policies versus more liberal financial policies and that's how the pendulum swings that I make again sit me on the side that I think more social programming is smarter for our people, then I would say probably not to that specific question, Emily, I hope to answer it. It's important to address facts, not platitudes, and let's review some facts about Trump's surveillance. Lowest unemployment for black Americans. and Hispanic Americans in history the biggest income games doubling what they got under Obama for black Americans for Hispanic Americans the results are their opportunity zones that were the workers were more empowered they had more access to this economy not to its social programs but to the ability to get a job in your community the facts bear it out so the key part um and Sean I want to talk to you very quickly about this and let you take it home.
The key part in all of this is not these social programs that they do not lead. to employment because that's what I mean, once you have people, that's what's hurting us right now, we have to figure out how to help people, but also get them back to work, the economy needs the boost that people move, so here we have sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Puerto Rico. I am someone who defends Puerto Rico. I don't have Puerto Ricans in my old district, but I care about Puerto Rico and we gave the money now. that the money is distributed on the island is something completely different and we see a lot of fraud, waste and abuse in Puerto Rico number one but number two aoc was talking about her grandmother, not the island as a whole and if your grandmother's roof, jenna is falling down Well go fix it, don't buy the Tesla, go help grandma and you can still tweet as island dish but don't use your mom or grandma as an example when you have cash to help her. that's why everyone is so outraged by aoc sean's tweet, that's a great point and believe me as a former federal prosecutor, the more you spend the more opportunity there is for the rampant fraud, waste and abuse that we unfortunately see everywhere. right guys we have to move on unfortunately
