Confessions Of A Phineas And Ferb Fan

Jun 07, 2021
Summers are coming, we are just a month away from the beginning of summer and nothing in the world was more exciting for baby in the past. I hated school more than anything, so the beginning of summer vacation was always the highlight of my year. I go out to play, no I took fun vacations, no I sat inside all day and watched cartoons, hacky, yes I did. I loved summer vacation so much it was never long enough, but I've been out of school for six years, so unfortunately. These days, summer feels just like any other time of year, only hotter, so the magic of summer has been lost a little as I become a decrepit old man, but if there's one thing it still accomplishes generate that childlike excitement for summer.

It's a little show called Phineas and Ferb, there's a hundred and four days of summer vacation and school comes just to end, so I have no idea where these kids went to school because that's a lot more summer than I've ever had, but yeah, today we're talking about Phineas and Ferb, the 2007 Disney Channel classic that seems to be having a nostalgic resurgence these days and it makes sense. I mean, the show is almost 13 years old and it ended like five years ago, but honestly. When I first found out that people were going crazy over Phineas and Ferb again, I thought: why let me explain it to you first if you don't know?

Phineas and Ferb is a cartoon about two brothers who spend every day of their summer vacation doing crazy things like building roller coasters, turning their backyard into a beach, becoming one-hit wonders, and tons of other crazy things, but their sister oldest, Candace, always tries to get them in trouble by telling her mother, which I don't always like roller coasters, race cars, time machines. If that's dangerous, you could poke your eye out, but sometimes she tries to get the kids in trouble just for fun, but it doesn't matter anyway because whatever Phineas and Ferb do they always manage to conveniently disappear right before their mother. even do it. appears oh, they also have a pet platypus who, let's be honest, is probably breaking some kind of law and that platypus named Perry is also a secret agent fighting the evil scientist dr.

Doofenshmirtz, who is the best character on the show and that's it, almost every episode follows the exact same structure. Now I want to take things back to around 2007, when I was a preteen on the cusp of adolescence with the mind of an eight year old, you know Baby Pho fee was obsessed with cartoons, but in high school I was moving away from that a little bit. I still watched a lot of cartoons, but it was becoming more passive as I started. I became more involved in music and guitar and that took up most of my free time and I remember one summer where I spent every day sitting on the floor playing guitar with the TV on just for the background noise and when it went It was about baby fare channels. my parents let me watch tear lists disney channel was yeah kind of seats here i mean the disney channel of my childhood was hannah montana wizards of waverly place the rumor about maggie brandy sr. mustaches were just a bunch of things I was a little mad about, so I usually only put the TV on Disney Channel when there was absolutely nothing else on and most of the time that summer the main thing that happened when I went to Disney was relatively new cartoon called Phineas and Ferb, so my first experience watching this show was just during the day when I wasn't even paying attention.

I was never actively watching Phineas and Ferb and yet I still feel like I'm done Watching each episode at the time, I know this because even though I never paid attention to it, I still knew the show's format and the lines by heart. G Ferb, what do you want to do today Ferb? I know what we're doing today, hey, where's Perry? doing doofenshmirtz evil incorporated a platypus perry the platypus you guys are so messed up mom omg perry the platypus oh there you are perry boom there you go that's every episode of your damn show i remember thinking it was so weird that

had exactly The same structure for each episode because I was used to shows like Billy and Mandy Invader Zim and Chowder where you literally had no idea what each episode was going to be and one of the most unique things about that format was how each episode had at least one song original now these days I look at that and think how the hell did they make that, by the way, there are over 200 episodes of this show and some episodes have multiple songs, that's stupid, very stupid, that's impressive, don't get me wrong, but if anyone Se He approached me and said, Hey, I want you to make an original cartoon with exactly the same format for 222 episodes and you need to have an original musical number in each one.
You would look that person in the face and tell them that you are stupid. that's stupid and the songs work very well. I mean, let's take another show that had musical numbers in almost every episode. A class of 3,000 loved it. Andre 3000 loved it. Outkast loved this show, but got a little lazy with the songs several times while Phineas and Ferb was on. pulling out absolute hits every time, but back then, baby fo fee saw this incredible feat of creativity and said hey, that's weird anyway, yeah, for some reason back then I wasn't really impressed, I just thought it was weird , it turns out I was the one who was very stupid needless to say Phineas and Ferb just weren't hitting it off with the baby for a fee but fast forward to 2018 and a fake fee is seeing Phineas and Ferb almost every day investigating a lot about it for a video and For some reason, feeling choked up listening to Summer belongs to you because it's just the happiest song of all time and for some reason that kind of stuff makes me cry.
What changed here, well for me, the moment all Phineas and Ferb clicked was the episode, man. get the band back together, this episode is about the kids getting their parents' favorite 80's hair metal band back together, a love Handel, for their anniversary, that already made my head spin a little the days when I was a kid learning to play the guitar and I became obsessed with music, but then the first song came along. Phineas and Ferb walk into a guitar store. Okay, cool, you've got my attention and the lead singer of Love Handel sings a song about how the most popular music genres can be traced back to blues music and At the time, the only thing I loved more than '80s metal was music blues, so a cartoon that talked about both of them really made me stand up and apologize, it really impressed me.
This was the first time I had seen a cartoon appeal to the guitar and my music nerd side in such a real way and this was the episode that made me start taking Phineas and Ferb seriously back in the day or as seriously as You can take a show about aquatic mammal secret agents and kids singing meaningless songs, but Even then I didn't suddenly become a die-hard Phineas and Ferb fan or, as I call it now, form a sense of respect for the show. I still wasn't looking for it, but every time it was instead of Thinking It Was Okay, it was more like oh cool and that was the extent of my experience with Phineas and Ferb for the next decade.
A lot of things changed during that time, watching cartoons went from being the only thing that mattered to me to a kind of passive activity. to something I rarely did once I got on YouTube, but then somewhere between 2017 and 2018 I started getting back into cartoons thanks to shows like Steven Universe and Gravity Falls and it was like an immediate 180. I went from never watching cartoons to suddenly. I went back into baby FOFA mode and wanted to watch as many cartoons as I could all day and the best part was that now I could because it was my job so I was watching all kinds of new Gumball Stars vs. the Forces of Evil shows. duck tales, all that, but I'm a sucker for a bit of nostalgia, so I also decided to go back and revisit some shows from my childhood.
There were some obvious choices like SpongeBob SquarePants and Teen Titans and some less obvious choices like Sixteen and Total Drama, but then I started thinking about that Disney Channel show from high school, that Phineas and Ferb thing that I never cared for, but oh so. some reason stuck in my head for years. I had seen some people talking about the show on YouTube and Twitter came out of nowhere and took me a little by surprise, like I knew this was a show that people remembered. I knew it was pretty popular and, like I said, I quite enjoyed it as a kid and had a certain level of respect for it, but it was never something I really liked.
I wouldn't call myself a Phineas and Ferb fan back then, and to put it bluntly, I didn't remember it being that special in general, but as more people started remembering it online, it dawned on me. More curious I thought I must have missed something, so I took the initiative and started re-watching Phineas and Ferb, and OMG this show is freaking awesome. Yes, I thought it was okay in the past, but as an adult, Phineas and Ferb is a near-perfect cartoon. and I can't believe I didn't see that before the characters are nice and fun the settings are ridiculous the songs are painfully catchy the format never gets old and sometimes they really play with it and the whole show has this nostalgic vibe that just reminds me of when it was As a kid excited about summer and like I said, I'm a big fan of nostalgia, I was suddenly waking up every morning and turning on Disney XD to watch Phineas and Ferb reruns during breakfast and every time I got into something.
So I immediately want to start working on a video about it, so I fell down the rabbit hole learning everything I could about the history of Phineas and Ferb, who made the show, how it all came to be and I made my Phineas and Ferb. Brief history and it was only then, more than a decade after the show's premiere and after I had dedicated two weeks of work to a video retrospective to gain a whole new perspective and appreciation of the show and its legacy that I realized, huh , I think I really like it. the show is kinda okay, jokes aside, Phineas and Ferb is hands down one of the best things Disney Channel has ever produced.
The creators of the show clearly captured lightning in a bottle that has stayed with people for over a decade, as evidenced by all the videos. about the show still being made on YouTube, the memes being used to confuse PewDiePie, and all the OCD tics I've seen referencing the show and even rating the songs, I'm on that note and I'm just saying it. Busta is overrated, it's fun, it's catchy, but I don't have a beat is clearly better and hey, the show is coming back very soon with a Disney Plus original movie that I suggest we call D palms from now on, so I guess summers more throughout the world will continue, people really will.
Hate me for that blowout comment, don't you? Yes, we are.
