Comparing a tractor to track loader

Mar 07, 2024
Alright, then check it out. I was looking at Facebook Marketplace last night and now I have this. So this is my new

tractor

. It's a 2005 75 horsepower four-wheel drive. Therefore, it needs a little work. Let's take it inside and do that. And let's try to do some projects with it. I want to try a log hook. I need energy to do it. I'm noticing these plugs. They look like taillights. But then we have this here, which is hopefully switched power. There is a mysterious switch. Did you press that switch? Dave: Right now there is nothing. What's with that black switch?

The one that spins? I mean, there's power right here. It would be nice to be able to turn it off. Well. So those are the turn signals. Is that always on? Okay, so this bucket control lever is broken right here. You can see that wire moving. It looks like it's supposed to have a pin holding it there. See, that just doesn't work because it's moving Bolt into that hole. And he's still curious to know how far that goes. So for whatever reason these things are, that hole is too small. Many of these are skid steer couplers, but I think that's the right one.

There. Yes, that seems correct. Awesome. So the way they work is they just pull out. When you need to remove them Okay, this is a motorcycle stop switch. I don't have the other end of that plug. This is the lever that controls that claw. So I'll put that button there, it should be fine. This plug here is for the tail lights. And this one here seems to have power all the time. So I got the masculine side of that. It should be securely tied with velcro how it works. That's just grab it right now, you can grab it.

Then when you press this button I feel like the

tractor

is completely wrong for this type of work. I'm much more used to that. But I think even if I spent a lot of time on the tractor, it would be better for several reasons. It's just the tractor. Everything is delicate deep down, you couldn't really do this job. Also, that gear transmission is very uncomfortable to use. I mean, you can get better at it, but not like this. This is very easy to execute. Alright? One thing I have to give credit to that tractor for. The tractor came here.

What do you think Cody? The tractor could have dragged something here. Definitely good mobility in situations like that. And damage these

s. Alright. So my trucks are a little beat up lately, and I have credit for most of it. But this particular dent here was not my fault. I was driving. I was turning left in a parking lot and a guy parked on the side of the road decided to put his minivan in reverse and that looks like this now. But that's the beauty of having a truck that's already dented because it doesn't matter. But that matters a little.
So let's try to make it look a little better. I have an idea. Check it out. I can't even tell that anything happened. This has to sit right there, although I'll fix that bracket. Look at those body lines. Good. How do you think that is? Perfect. That's still a long way from the ground. Come on Dave: Not going. You have a flat tire. Dave: Yeah, I know. Pull harder Pull until it disappears. You're getting it. Pull harder. Do you have a wire brush? Does this fit? That will probably work. Very good. Yes, it has the clutch.
A bolt. Oh, this doesn't fit. Look how bent it is. We're deciding not to run that. Yes, we are trying to find another one. This will work without a clutch, but it should fit there. Go ahead, right there. Go ahead there. That's how it went. It's got this bar here, yeah, it's still there now. Dave: Back up. Turn your side, I can't turn it. Wait. There you go. That's good. Too far, go back. Alright. That's it. This just had one chain. Yeah, that's it. That was loose anyway. Yes, make it shorter and shorter now. Yes. Otherwise Look at that.
Adjust it. It should be fine, right? Does that look better? Better? This is a lot. It was working fine, but the first little branch I ran over hit one of those hoses. This is what made it here. But that's what broke right there. It is moving? I think so. It's a leveler too, Dave, raise it up a bit, it's definitely working. Now it's lower. I think corrosion was a factor and why it broke so easily. Look how thin that is. You could probably give this a push. Yeah, well, that's the point where the case is wrong.
You have to get the different side case. Mine was a plug. I took it apart and then bought all the parts for the Yamaha. Okay, but with this you would be buying a complete side case. I don't know why they didn't make 150 a kickoff. I don't know. Try to start from there, Dave, you have to do it right here. Go into third gear. He is now in fourth place. He's too determined for this. You need a real hill. That's why I was going down the hill. You got it. Dave: Was the choke on? small collision of trees here.
But that's all. I've seen this thing lose like half the accessories and still fly still. I don't know if that's the proper use for it. Cleared a nice little area there. This works fine. This

track

is bad though. Look, there have been a lot of studs falling, but here we are missing four in a row. So that's it. I was going to bring up an extra clue that I should have. But let me see if I can get this in tow. The slipper clutch burned out. See it all smoking. It just stops working. And once you hit the grass or something, I guess we ran them both until they broke.
So did they cut you enough? Yes. I'd rather slip than break a universal joint. Okay, well, I'm the one who has to finish this video on this new tractor, so it's clean. I don't think I totally need it for the type of work I usually do, so I might put it up for sale. I don't know. I'll try to do some more work with it, but I think this would be nice. A brush grab if he was actually cutting brush and not covering trees. If it had a hydrostatic transmission, I think it would be more desirable.
You know, the gear drive is okay, but it's okay. That? Let's take the skid steer home and fix it. And Dave is going to fix this. And here we are going to do a little more. But now you need a wheel and a clutch. Alright. Here we cut a nice piece. I mean, you could spend a lot more time mowing the grass, but, you know, it's a lot better to have some trails mowed and some places cleared instead of letting it all turn back into forest, because they were mowing this, a several years ago. These trees don't take long to grow.
That's the fiber And then you don't have anything here. I wonder if he's supposed to have it there too. This also falls apart. That's nothing. I feel like there should be two of those. Yes, it's pretty choppy. Yes. clean it. Yes. I just try to stay calm with two of them. Well let's see if it's behind. Yes Yes Yes. He went away. It may have gone up in smoke. This is simple. Yes. I can rebuild in 5 minutes. Yes. Yes. That's the goal. So do you want to try to get maybe change both? That one doesn't look very good.
Yes. I have to see what I can find.
