the most important piece of advice to pass on to them is that the project will be easier and more fulfilling for them if it is something they are passionate about there are many options when

an eagle project, but nothing does. more painful than something the child is not interested in doing completing an eagle project is not about checking the right boxes and finishing the program it is about using everything they have learned and channeling it into something to benefit the community as in life , the best results come from harnessing the enthusiasm for something you believe in when I meet with my Scouts to select a project I always start by leading them towards something they like if they are hikers I direct them towards a trail improvement project or something that benefits the community if education is your passion there are many different options for guiding and informing youth and adults by building informational kiosks or developing materials with local educational resources community gardens public spaces that present ways for people to come together and enjoy themselves nature or even learn about your community in all directions.

I have lent them to the Scouts. At the end of the day, it's your project and my advice only goes so far, but of the projects I've partnered with, the most successful are the ones that lead from passion. will only guide you as a leader, it is your responsibility to inform them of any pitfalls along the way, as a general rule of thumb, local community oriented projects are easier to complete, not because the project is itself, but because of the overhead related to school systems and municipalities in general. for any project, I tell the guys to meet with the representative of the organization and get a sense of how receptive they are if, whatever the organization, they are if it is difficult to reach them on the phone or get them to meet with you then have two options one to choose a different organization or two build that communication time into your plan as a general rule of thumb i tell

scouts

to plan for nine months from soup to nuts for the project you may need one or two months to formulate the project and resolve it into what you think you want to do, two to three months to approve your own unity committee and local unity, after that you need a month at least to handle fundraising and develop your project plan and then another month or two to organize and carry out your project, after which you have at least a month to collect all the information photo data and write it down to submit your project, can you go any faster?

I have been informed of projects that can be organized, submitted and completed. in less than two months, most Scouters will do everything they can to help you get to Eagle, but don't let Scout plan projects long before her 18th birthday under the best of circumstances. I've seen Scout slip paperwork under the door for tips to beat the deadline don't let them be that scout effort to do it way before 18 having Eagles as part of your active troop is a great way to show kids that they can do it too but this is what works for us take what you like leave the rest and as we say at the wood badge feedback is a gift leave yours below in the comments with all the hope that we can learn together I'm Scoutmaster Dave and this was choosing an eagle project
