Chevrolet Silverado 250 | NASCAR Truck Series Full Race Replay

Mar 31, 2024
There are plenty of big opportunities for these playoff guys long before the final round, but can you survive? I didn't see in your career analysis that they will survive until last night, it should be the Top Line Prince, they are all lined up. 36 on the field and we're getting ready to run, it's green at Talladega when they get to work, they've already done it down and that's what I think we'll see early, Phil, these leaders are trying to manage this

race

just by running. Right at the end of the

race

track and then in the outside lane you'll see what kind of racing they can do to progress that bottom line.

Okay, that initial start could also have been predetermined with teammates. I'll let you in and then. We're just going to log some laps. John Hunter Nemechek dominated the standings. I mean, he was a lot faster than everyone else, but more than a couple of stores. How does that play out in a career like this where you're in the draft so often? everyone take note Vince, that's a fast

truck

, we're going to have to push it and work with it, but Phil out. I forgot how my blood pressure rises when Talladega starts. These

truck

s are already jumping and weaving all over the place.

More Interesting Facts About,

chevrolet silverado 250 nascar truck series full race replay...

Everything is going to be intense. all day and these guys are going to fight all over this track, look at that move there, but John Hunter saw a good pop streak from Zane, he boxed him in, now he's going to pull out at the end and take care of his teammate, he's just trying. to handle both lines right now if the outside line has a little bit of momentum he will jump in there and try to stall it a little bit and then he will jump down in front of his teammate and that is a dangerous game when you are the leader because you just have to have time to perfectly block the top lane and then they turn you around and with the aerodynamics of these trucks with those big cabs, they run much faster than the Xfinity cars or the cup cars would have a pylon on the left side of the screen the eight championship contenders, well, seven of the eight highlighted in yellow and Jeske's time, the only driver who has secured a spot in the championship four has that green background and him just up there running hard like he needs to win that's the attitude of these truckers, they're not going to relax listened to Stewart Friesen wants to be smart but knows what's at stake knows what he needs to do Stuart is currently riding in position 14 On the outside this is going to be a good push, Zane he's already there, Majeski is on him and they're going to pass by John Hunter and we're on lap number three and we're already pushing each other and With three wide, Jordan Anderson can tiptoe under that double yellow line.
chevrolet silverado 250 nascar truck series full race replay
Look what Nascar believes is that you can't advance your position by going below that double yellow line. I just asked Johnny Sautter they took a win away from him because he did that and he gave Spencer Boyd a A few years ago, this is his aggressive as early as I've seen at Talladega, usually they work out that inside line, but that's not it the case today. You know Derek Krause, who's on that outside line, the third line all the way. at the top he had been the third truck on the outside line and he came out, bailed out, said I'm going to come back and played a little safer here, things get chaotic, much like the initial start here, apart from the three wides like you. mentioned, led by Derek Krause, a lot of movement in a lot of trucks rocking and weaving as we look down, you see the push, just a little push there on Zane put him on his side and now they are crashing and hitting too. back there was that Jordan Anderson who got pushed sideways a little bit, Zane Smith and that yellow 38 John Hunter Nemechek, the pole winner, right behind him in that four-wheeler leading the outside line.
chevrolet silverado 250 nascar truck series full race replay
Majeske won the most recent race at Bristol. Remember Zane won at Daytona earlier this year, some would say he won it twice, but he certainly had to prove that his flag was counted. Look at the three in the back. Jordan Anderson, the fourth truck in line, on the inside, is the big moving man and that was a save. much more eager in that truck than out of it Jordan Anderson, a very good Super Speedway racer, he's been runner-up a couple of times at Daytona Super Speedway and how cool is it to see Jordan Anderson here racing or talking about it. he was a winner when he first showed up, he had to drive his own truck to the track pulling his race truck, he did it all and made a good team here and had a great day so far at Talladega, yeah we've seen it and spoken.
A little more about him now in his role as owner versus driver, as some of his priorities have changed, but it's good to see him back behind the wheel in that three-wheeler. Fourth in line on the inside, right behind him, is Tanner Gray at 15. Much of the organization and that outside for a moment majeske is now going to jump outside. I think they pushed him up. Phil Chandler was able to get him out of shape a little bit and went to the back and took that spot. look at Majeski Retreat now has nothing to gain at this point the 38 Zane Smith leading the way so far in that uh inside Lane what's going on with that team?
Jamie well, I spoke to Zane Smith yesterday and he told me that he is not a fan of racing on Super Speedway style tracks, both times here he crashed, he said that it is just stressful and also he said: I want to practice in a place like this, I want to remove that rust, well, these teams didn't get any practice here. They did their qualifying laps yesterday and that was it, but they feel a little better right now as he runs second, yes, he won the first race of the season at Daytona, so he's had some good success at Super Speedway, that is, every time you get a victory.
You can't argue with that, but his two starts here at Talladega Zane finished 33rd with DNFs in the first two laps at Talladega John Hunter Nemechek leading the foreign truck

series

, the Camping World Truck Series is sponsored by the blue emu . Name verification of him continues. to lead with Zane Smith running second as they lead that long line at the bottom, that's the guy we talked about in the first few events, we thought we'd see the bottom Lane Prevail be dominant but it was certainly a battle to get to this one position. where they have stretched it a little, we will see if the outside line can rebound, we talk about Drafting and how important drafting is.
These guys are lapping every lap more than two seconds faster than our pole position, they're averaging 190 miles per hour. hour over here and let me tell you another little stat here, Phil, our leader, ran 51-44, the fastest truck on the drag strip, last time it was bayley Curry, he got back to the 2017 position and ran almost a second faster faster than the leader, that's because he had all these trucks in front of him, he was gaining some momentum from the draft that just tells you how crazy Talladega is right after the halfway point here in stage one and remember those 10 Stage points available in the top ten at the end. of each stage and those stage points are critical for the drivers who are in the playoff mix, unless your name is Ty Majeske, he already secured a spot in the championship four, but those other seven drivers desperately need points In the rankings we also talk about playoff points throughout the year, but they don't matter on this track, in this race we are only looking for stage points to try to mark our way to the final race in Phoenix to compete for a championship right now. four playoff drivers are in the top ten look outside lane phil had a little momentum making his way it's going to be like this all day just back and forth there's a good look at majeski who has slipped to 25th and that's 18th It's going to destroy people because it's pushing to the left.
I'm pretty sure that's why he quit there. He almost took us there. He came out tri-ovil. So he was worse than the one who will probably be quite wild at the end of this stage. all those guys are fighting for points so at this point 66 of the time Mageski already shot to the championship four so they're just being smart here no point in wrecking a truck if you don't have to and they know things are going well . to go crazy up front and you heard it on the radio they feel like the 18th something could happen up there so they're being smart backing up and calculating knowing the big picture guys what I thought was interesting he talked about pushing towards the towards the left, yes, and let me explain the pros and cons, how and where you push, you just need to be slightly offset to the right and it seems to be more stable in the draft, the truck will certainly go to the left and if you push to the left it can hang up and you see that's exactly what they're talking about there, the push in the back left corner took Majeski out of control.
Spotter Brandon Lyons was saying that he's going to go crazy at the end of the stage, what's going on? about what he's been looking at since the first lap, what he's seeing up there, you know, Mike, back in the day, we both started in the mid '80s racing these types of tracks and it was a little tamer back then and , all of a sudden, people I just discovered Side Drafting and Drafting and stuff like that and we have to go too fast, we're running 210 miles an hour here and they slowed us down and that brought this group together and that's why we have the situation in which Now, with these guys running so close together from the drop of the green flag to the checkered flag, Richard Childress joked one day that Dale Earnhardt could see air back in the day when we didn't know what air was, no we knew What he did and Dale seemed to realize it a little bit before everyone else and look what we're doing now, it's just an intense race and it's all because of the draft.
There are seven laps to go here in the first stage, the battle for stage points. coming soon, John Hunter Nemechek at the front will be back for the end of stage one in a moment thank you, thank you foreigner, thank you back at Talladega Camping World Chuck Series races nearing the end of stage one, John Hunter Nemechek continues to lead , it's the first of three races this weekend and a doubleheader today Xfinity race also this afternoon and then the Stars Racing Cup tomorrow tickets purchased for this weekend in all 50 states in 23 countries that's amazing to talk about an element of wish list this is one of the big ones there is a Boulevard There too, somewhere that people like to visit.
Great concert by Vince. Bailey Zimmerman and Chris Rice will perform very well tonight. There has been a finger buried a bit in the group, reaching the end of the stage. Guys, there are only three laps left in this scenario we are talking about. How desperately these guys need stage points. A little movement inside. You see Matt Crafton rescued in truck 88, but it doesn't look like on the figure right now he's in a position to get stage points, but you never know how. one finger needs the stagecoin craftsman right?, he has already been eliminated from the playoffs. on the finger, he needs those in which he entered.
He entered this race 15 under the cut line as you looked at Crafton's 88 and that neon yellow bail. Wow, he just was. great spot and just rolled up, they pushed it again, but the same kind of situation from Chandler Smith that we saw before and the costume was out. Jordan Anderson, we talked about Jordan being on the field and there's a lot of things. Fire, that's a big hit, oh my god, wow, that was him, he didn't know where he was, yes he was and he knew he had to get out, so lucky he was able to climb over the wall and get out through that door, sacred cow.
It was dramatic, he's on the ground, I'm sure he's struggling to catch his breath. I'm our security team right there. Well, that thing sure burst into flames quickly, didn't it? I was running in the top five having a great race and Jordan Anderson's truck came to a stop there on the inside wall and it was a pretty hard contact just as he was trying to get out of the truck, he was so athletic right there to make that move to get out. that window and climbing the wall, well, and very lucky too. very unfortunate, the timing of that could have been disastrous and like you said, I couldn't see, I didn't know where I was, all I knew was time to get out of trouble, that's all I knew.
The EMR security team is still assisting him. They are making sure firefighters are available to make sure the fire goes out on that truck. We know that he was physically able to get out of the truck and down the wall before lying on the ground, which gives me great hope that he is. Just struggling to catch his breath, it's the three of Jordan Anderson and you see the truck resting there on the inside wall and the security team around Jordan, who is lying on the ground, came out like Mike said, out of the truck by his own means. and then he went to the ground and the security team was there immediately to treat him.
The stretcher is outside, but let's see if they put Jordan on it or if he ends up walking to the ambulance under his own power, but it was obviously a terrifying incident. They'll err on the side of caution for Jordan, you know, before the truck hit the wall, you could tell the fire had already burned off the pain on the right side, you could see how much damage there was on the outside of the truck. It was already evident long before reaching the wall, so the first stage will be completed under yellow flag with John Hunter Nemechek taking John Hunter's seventh win of the season and some very important stage points for him as he entered . to this race nine points below the cut line, you know, and he talked before about the fact that he didn't feel like this was a decisive race, he just thought he needed to survive to get those 10 stage points, it was very important, But also confident in what he will have when he gets to Miami, he believes he can go there and win that race, but erasing that deficit today is huge.
Five playoff drivers accumulated stage points in that first stage led by Nema Check who took 10th. Stuart Friesen Grant Infinger also missed out in 11th position, so the first stage was completed with John Hunter Nemechek being the winner and Zayn Smith finishing second under caution with Carson Hosovar Chandler Smith and Colby Howard in the top five Colby Howard look at that guy we talked about. every week, being very fast and a potential winner had a good starting position, started seventh, was able to maintain and I think in this first stage, Vince has a lot to do with where you qualified, you know you qualify at the front, you control the race, you get those stage points.
John Hunter said on pole and wins stage one Tanner Gray Ben Rhodes Corey Heim christianeckis Tyler anchor completing the top ten but stage one belongs to this man John Hunter Nemechek thanks foreigner foreigner back at Talladega preparing for pit stops in the Conclusion here of the first stage John Hunter Nemechek won the first stage he won Under yellow after Jordan Anderson's accident brought out the yellow flag with a couple of laps left in the first stage and Jordan Anderson was loaded into the ambulance and taken to the Care Center we will receive an update on that momentarily which was terrifying.
We hope for good news about Jordan. We saw how close everyone had been running since the green flag trip and we know that was the situation where something went wrong more than likely. An engine caused an oil fire. I guess you know, a vehicle accident. I mean, there was no one else involved, but he's still terrifying. A terrifying image. Let's take a look here with the three of them. Jordan Anderson, okay, there's Jordan in that three yellow and black truck, so he's surrounded by a circle, yeah, doing a great job, obviously there's an engine and it immediately catches fire, you can see there are flames that look like flames inside of the cab with a truck that is not so much on the driver's side. but you know he has, he feels like inside he has the net down and he's breaking free, but look at this, he's just outside the truck and it's a bad situation, it sure is terrifying.
Jordan Anderson came out and lay down on the ground with the security team. Finally we put him in the ambulance we took him to the care center. Jamie there is little there and we will have a report on Jordan here shortly as soon as it is available. Check out our stage one results and we tell you about the playoff drivers, John below. Zane Smith Chandler Smith Ben Rhodes Christian Atkins obviously stood out there in yellow and the biggest points of the stage and for John under Nemechek came into the race nine points out, gets 10 here on stage one and all of a sudden that hits him . above in the playoff picture, yes, I have it right now above the projected cut line and remember this is the second of three races in this round of eight.
The cutting race will be at Homestead on October 22 on Pit Road. Jamie Little is there and uh. waiting shot Hunter Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek told me that the goal here was to run to the front and get those stage points, that's exactly what he's done. He has led more laps today than in his career at Talladega. All he wanted is that little adjustment and a tear from Josh. Let's talk about Chandler Smith's 18, his biggest concern has been writing, asking how his writing team is working. It's also a big concern to make sure he comes out of Pit Road clean, which they then seem to have executed perfectly.
The guys absolutely get three spots, some real Movers. On Pit Road and when you have those who go up, you also have those who go down. We will have a new leader as we prepare for stage two. It will be Chandler Smith's second stint from Talladega, which will bring some fun to the Talladega field. that's living there foreign foreigner with only six races left in the Cup playoffs it's another big weekend for NASCAR's premier

series

Sunday Adam Alexander Larry McReynolds Jamie McMurray gets you ready for the big race here at Talladega Joe Gibbs driver Denny Hamlin on the Regan Smith Visits show with Ross Chastain, tomorrow is NASCAR race day at 11:30 a.m. m.
ET on FS1, followed by a big day of NHRA from St Louis. Can't wait for tomorrow Vince, I love some racing, today we have a doubleheader, the trucks start and then the Talladega playoff races. Tomorrow man, great weekend in Alabama, let's go down to the Care Center. Jamie Little is down there with an update on Jordan Anderson. What do you know? Jamie Vance and Jordan Anderson's team are here and they're waiting, they don't know much, but. One of the team members just left the infield care center told me that Jordan is there right now and he can't see him, but they told him that there are burns, that he's in a lot of pain, and that they're going to fly him to Birmingham at 11:00.
Right now, okay, thank you for that when you see the helicopter on and uh ready, what a scary incident, for sure, and uh, I'm just grateful that Jordan was able to get out of that, yeah, thoughts and prayers are what gives so much. afraid to see Jordan's family. Any runner has a problem like that, but when it comes to a member of your family, I know how hard it is and I want everyone to know that we are praying for them, thinking about them, one to get here before we go green again . I saw Chandler Smith. and John Hunter Nemechek swapping positions there as Chandler came up top and that's where he'll start and then probably drop down to bot lane as soon as possible with the switch.
Yes, the friendly demeanor of his teammate John Hunter Nemechek reminds that there is no choice rule here at Talladega or At Daytona, in fact, the front row can choose, yes, and that's it, yes, the leader can choose and that's the only one who sees Ben Rhodes' orange truck starting in row two on the outside and that's Steward freezing on the inside. That second row, what about the pit work done by Stewie's team? He jumped it from 11th to third with the same strategy. From what we could see, Carson Hosovar was the only one using two tires, everyone else without tires and many of our lines. up right now ninth you saw these trucks moving when the tires were new right Phil yeah that's not going to get better no it's not like that they don't need time to get better we just have to make sure.
We keep our eyeball on this front pipe. This is Darting and Weaving and everything so blue but it's only going to intensify it's only going to get more and more aggressive as we run and there are some guys that are better at pushing than others, I mean it's a fact we've heard them already complain about how Chandler Smith was pushing and you can see some great examples that we'll point out among the guys who are doing it correctly, just shifted to the right six and eight inches. one foot when you're half shifted to the left like that, that's not good and there are times when when you do it right, it still ends in a catastrophe, yes, because you push them to the right, but the movement into the lane abroad. and if the outside Lane is trying to drift, there are a lot of factors that go into making this work and they do it because his speed and all those factors, great job by the way, by Tyler Rankrum, he started 20th today and finished in the top ten.
In the first stage, the deepest starter of the top 10 finishers in the first stage will be Chandler Smith on the outside and John Hunter Nemechek on the inside. When we get the green flag for the second stage at Talladega, there will be the Chandler jump. whip all the way down looks like Ben Rhodes I thought he was going to be able to jump in front of John Hunter Nemechek for a moment almost maybe decided he didn't want roads on the outside trying to pass and a lot of smoke Speedy Drive, yeah just Speedy drive Jordan Anderson The Anderson incident, but what has to make it difficult for some of them to see is that they are making it difficult for me to see the fans.
I guess I can't imagine what it was like in those trucks. about a pair of teammates locked up both outside and inside, the sport outside with Equus pushing the roads, who warns of the rise of the racetrack, it's Colby Howard's 91, well, it's a It's a shame Howard had an excellent early career. It looks like the right fronts, towards the left, the left rear is down, of course, be careful, this helps my heart rate for a few moments to relax a little, there is a tire casing, it will tell the reason The time Colby will have to get to Pit Road would restart him in the top ten.
He had a good run in that first stage and really looked brilliant. I mean, he's been one of the bright spots of the series. I think this season I really saw something good. He hasn't always gotten the end result he deserves but we have become big fans of Colby because of the aggressive nature of him, the speed he shows looks like me, just a tire issue, Phil no. I see a lot of damage, we could be fine, it could be fine, put some tires on that truck and it could be fine, front up, yeah, I think definitely, left rear side down, it's run all season, best ninth of his career on a couple of occasions. 20 years old from Simpsonville.
South Carolina look at him all the way back see if we can catch him from deep in the pack, he looks like a mess, yeah, oh someone, that's Colby, everyone does a great job of avoiding him, oh wow, you can see casing or tire. came out Crafton slides yeah look at us let's look at this last truck okay he managed at the last second on the inside and it's not easy to really turn those trucks that run so hard at 180 miles an hour early caution in the second stage Ben Rhodes out front here at Talladega foreign, back at Talladega, playoff race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, second of three races in the round of eight Ty Majeski, the only driver to clinch a spot in the championship four, someone else hopes to do it today, there is a look. in the helicopter transporting Jordan Anderson to a local hospital.
Jordan was involved in a one vehicle accident. The engine came loose. A large fire on board ended up making contact with the interior wall and Jordan was taken to the center of the field. Jamie Little. reporting that he had burns and was very uncomfortable, as you can imagine, they are transporting him to a local hospital and certainly wish Jordan the best. We certainly all did with Jordan and his family under caution here on stage two to Tiro. issue involving Colby Howard's 91 Phil, would you have guessed at this point in the race that the top seven running backs would all be playoff players at Talladega?
What to look for in this Remember that last year we had a playoff driver who finished in the top ten out of eight. Well that could be the case today, we had a long way to go but maybe in the second stage we could have one off the top. ten Ben Rhodes started at position 15. I want to encourage you to join Fox Corporation in donating to support those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Ian. I ask you to visit www.redcross.org or you can text Ian to 90999 to donate 10 overseas, it's a classic NFC East rivalry on Fox Carson Wentz leading Washington against Zeke and the Cowboys or maybe you have some other regional action, it all starts at one o'clock ET on Fox and the Fox Sports app is back in green. here in the second leg at Talladega Ben Rhodes leading the outside lane and Chandler Smith leading the inside line teammates lined up inside and outside kbm on the inside Thor sport on the outside giving Chandler Smith a push Christian Equus second on the line on the outside helping his teammate Ben Rhodes Smith and Stuart Friesen in the third row realize how close they are racing, look at that look, look at that precision boat designed by John Hunter, you can crash but you can't block that bumper butt and that's a talent for power to pop, get off of it and hit it again repeatedly, which pushes you forward, that's wherehe lives

speed and John Hunter is doing it perfectly well, he's a textbook 190 miles at 190 miles an hour, yes, and by the way, he can do it.
Not the only thing he can see is the truck in front of him. You can't see through the cab what's in front of the truck in front of you, so there's also a lot of guesswork to make sure he knows he's safe because he knows there's no one blocking Chandler, but if you're back here where Zane is, he has two trucks he has to worry about, it gets more and more as you go, well that's where you really lean on the extra set of spotters. eyes as you watch every play there again about Nemechek and Chandler Smith, yeah one time Chandler Smith got a little loose again, even if you do it perfectly it doesn't always work, another warning and this is Carson Hosovar and Lawless Allen, teammates at Nice Motorsports.
Bye, Allen has certainly taken the brunt, but you saw that Hosovar had slowed down as well. Yeah, I don't think they were related. I think our Mighty's host just got hit and broke loose, but something certainly happened, it seems. like maybe mate, that's part of jack or excuse me Truck Lawless Lawson is having a great race inside the top 20. Most of the race, wow, that ended his day, unfortunately, big damage to the team security Lawless Allen AMR right there, oh another one. Truck Brian caused significant damage to that truck and also made only a second start of the season after starting at Daytona, so there was some serious damage to a couple of these vehicles and then Carson Hosovar suffered a little bit of damage as well, certainly the His is not seen.
Obviously, it's going to be almost as significant, but hey, Lawless Allen is getting hooked. I don't know if Dosa will be able to do it. He Continue there and watch Lawless walk away, see if we can pick up what happened. See Carson just had a problem getting out of the way and then maybe it was a right front tire failure, it seemed like he certainly wasn't. corrupt, right? Oh yeah, you can see it, it blows the fender off the truck. Wow, strong contact, like you mentioned before, you thought it was a coincidence that Carson was having a problem that could have been debris from a Lawless Allen truck that got stuck in the front of Carson's truck Yeah, Carson just bailed out and then wow, what a shock for that 45 Allen, well, it's higher and you heard him say it hurts, yeah, 190 miles per hour, you know, some people mistakenly call those safer barriers soft walls.
You are not soft, maybe softer than concrete, but not soft. I've hit some of those walls and I'll agree with you Vince, it hurts under caution again here on stage two at Talladega Point. Sorry, you're here after our post-race show. here on FS1, keep it here on the channel, it's a battle in the Big Ten of college football, Michigan State takes on Maryland, everyone will appear on FS1 again, that's next after our post-race show here at Talladega. Hey, by the way, I want to uh. Congratulations to our producer Mark Smith who is doing double duty today, not only producing the race broadcast but also producing in the pits because our regular pit producer Caleb Combs is getting married tonight so congratulations, obviously bad programming , Caleb's decision to get married on the run. day, but congratulations to Caleb and Kara, who are getting married.
Ted. I don't know why I couldn't have worked on the degree and then, you know, and then we got married, there are a lot of hours where I don't ask those kinds of questions and it's probably better. It's probably best that we don't and speaking of pit producers and pit reporters let's get Josh down, yeah let's start with an update on Stuart Freeze's 52nd and we know he started this race in 18th place as he called it in The Hornets. Nest, but a quick accelerator and start at the end of the first stage gave him the points he so badly needed to get back into the field and now he is in fifth place.
He's happy with that truck, he says he's absorbing it well and he's happy with where they are, just. I need to get through the rest of this race. Jamie and Ben Rhodes' 99 brought a new race truck here that was actually built for Johnny Sautter to race, but the team made the decision to change up and give Ben the best truck possible to maximize. His chances of getting the win here today Ben so far, even though he was running in the middle of the pack, he started 15th, he raced there for the first stage, but they also gave him fuel and gave him track position.
He will restart second here, very happy with that. 99. Well, speaking of Ben Rhodes' 99, let's get a little team radio. You asked 52 not to really push, but to at least close the gap to get to his bumper, like, let's organize a little more. he's not more than half behind, he's a

Carling, you know what I mean exactly, preferably if he could stay within a quarter the whole track, that would be fine, you know, that's what you hope and hope is a strategy, but often that means winning quickly when someone else thinks it will benefit them to be right Ben Rhodes, of course, the defending Series champion had a tough time and Bristol finished in 18th place and dropped four places. the playoff standings and he came into this race today eighth out of eight needing to be in the top four with this race today here at Talladega, we're on October 22nd at Homestead if he wants a chance to defend the Series championship, you know .
What I love about Ben Rhodes is that he came to Talladega and said we had to win here, he didn't say we had to survive here, he said: I don't know how we're going to race in Miami. I'm not sure about that. but I'm confident that I can win at Talladega today and I need to do well and the last thing you want to do is go to Homestead, a cutoff race is happening, you know, knowing that you have to win, I mean being that far behind. at points where you realistically don't have a chance to point your way, if you have a good chance to point your way, you can be below the cut line by a few points or so, but if you know you have winning in Miami is a tough position and you wouldn't think Miami would be as volatile a place as this, you're not going to have a playoff driver finish in the top ten like we had there last year, but still there will only be one. winner, but there will only be one winner, and Phil, we know that not everyone can win in Miami, we never won there, that compares to uh, so it's going to be very difficult, it's going to be very difficult, take us back to your Talladega.
What makes winning at Talladega so special when I was a kid was it was simply the most impressive and intimidating race track. I saw my brother running with Hunter. I was scared to death of him and just conquering him really felt great and we see strategy here. At Talladega, Phil, a lot of these trucks here really aren't worried about bonus points for the stage, so they'll get track position when the rest of these playoff trucks see a little damage in the pits at the end of The phase. 42 of I wanted to remove that piece of material from the Wallace house, what will they have to do there?
Just tape it down or they will come off. I think they'll try to take it out and then put it in and then tape it up. Yes, there is an indication of how deeply embedded it is because they had to get out the saw to cut it out. Oh, I mean, that's how much power that piece of debris went into the front of that Carson Hosova truck and lodged there, obviously. and obviously they're going to be very tactical about how to get that out, not just sawing them for the fun of it, they're going to make sure they don't take any further damage.
It always amazes me how much I mean they build these trucks. In these finely tuned race cars, I mean, they just cover every detail, it's thought out and planned and then when the race starts, you hit it with hammers and you saw parts of them analyzed and it doesn't look like. Well no, eventually you go into the wind tunnel and if a piece of tape comes loose you have to abort that run and start over because it ruins the aerodynamics, just one piece of tape comes loose and like you mentioned now they'll put 100 square feet . of tape on that truck, oh what a heartbreaking season it's been in some ways for Carson, our host, he's been runner-up three times this year and the field had the chance we thought we would to win in Kansas, yeah, he ran out of gas in the last lap with a great strategy called by Phil Gould but they couldn't make it Phil takes a photo of those top seven I'll be in the playoff drivers I have to see what that looks like at the end of the day, do you think that? the yellow is going to be a little mixed it's going to be all over the place last year in this race a driver a playoff driver finished in the top ten majeski's in 11th place knocking on the door the top ten right now getting ready for this restart and It's going to be a race to the end of stage two, with Chandler Smith at the end and Ben Rhodes leading down Top Lane, putting those two outside trucks green at the gate.
Sports guys, you've been really powerful together, see what you can do with Chandler. and Nemechek, who basically controlled this race all day. Strong pick from Ben Rhodes. I'm Chandler Smith and for the roads, stage points are very important as he came into this race, as we mentioned, eight out of eight in the playoff standings he just needs to survive. two laps up front and he'll call this stage a success see Zane Smith back there running third in line on the outside Stewart third in line on the inside Stewart is another guy this is a huge lap just take me back to the start finish line and let me work on the deficit I've dug up so far on the last lap here on stage two driving with Zane Smith eckus in front of him and then Ben Rhodes two trucks up leading that outside Lane Chandler Smith has moved up a little bit When reach the final stretch, if Chandler Smith wins this stage, it will be thanks to John Hunter Nemechek's four and the push he is making.
Nemechek pushes Chandler Smith into the right rear corner of that four-wheeler and that's going to push him back, forward, Chandler. Smith now working on the draft trying to get there and cut the roads lane to win the second stage Chandler Smith made it to the second stage oh well we're pretty close, we had six of those playoff guys in the top six, What if there is a reason to finish third? At this stage, he is having a good weekend. Last night he was with Red Farmer, one of the legends of dirt racing. Stewart is a big fan, but you see, Chandler Smith nails it.
Chandler Smith won stages one and two at Bristol, but finished ninth. in the race, win the second stage today here at Talladega, we'll see where it ends up in the end, thank you before you are foreigners and welcome back to the Talladega Super Speedway, the end of the second stage and the drivers in Pit Road, the 99 of Ben Rhodes. we saw his fuel only the four of John Hunter Nemechek happy with his truck and quick stops for them Josh talking about happy with his truck Stuart Friesen happy with his four tires and fuel without adjustments as he returns and we also saw the 38 of Zane Smith, come on to Pit Road, evidently had a problem getting to the checkers at the end of stage two, let's head back down and get the latest on the situation with Jamie and Vince.
Yeah, right on the front stretch, you saw a yellow truck right at the top. of our shot went sideways that's why right there the 38 Zane Smith had cut a tire on the right rear a lot of damage she had to roll that whole lap he brought it in they were able to fix some of the damage but she certainly got hurt, that's a big deal for one of our playoff drivers, yeah, it's enough damage to affect the performance, obviously, of that truck. I see damage like this frequently, although Phil and a guy can run seconds like this, you put yourself in the right spot. getting caught between a couple of fast trucks so they don't end up, but he's definitely in trouble. two stages, complete the third and final stage at Talladega when we return in the morning, thank you foreigner, foreigner, thank you Caitlin and while you watch Zane Smith there and Todd and address the issues with Zane, the playoff guys that included Zane Smith , they will restart deeper into the field here in this third stage because of those pit stops that many others made before the end of stage two.
Here's 18 on Pit Road Josh. On the 18th at Pit Road for the second time they returned because there are some things with the truck that they want to evaluate. You especially see the rear bumper where, of course, it was. Bump drafting with John Hunter Nemechek. They want to evaluate it to make sure it's good. They also said we're good at points, we're comfortable at least where we are now, so they didn't mind taking their time on Pit Road to make sure everything was right with that truck. Good update there and the information that you see the damage there on the back of that 18 truck from all that banging and banging, let's hear from Zane Smith here, um, yeahwhether we can hear this tire or not, oh yeah, you can hear it, you can hear it clapping.
I can't believe he was able to hold the gas for so long with that tire going down and there he lost the tread and then finally completely, but even with that he kept the truck straight, I mean it's amazing he made it to the straight line and then, and then, and Jamie. he kept it straight even after he exploded, he really didn't. He only told the guys on the team. I don't think it was a single incident. Something was wrong throughout the race. I knew something was wrong with the right rear that he tried to take.
Deal with it and he said right now, we're going to look at this as a blessing in disguise and ride the third and final stage in green at Talladega, which Purdy followed in that fluid red '61 truck. Phil, you got the idea from all those playoffs. the drivers in the top seven didn't make it because they left now they're not in the main race Chase Purdy we talk about Will and the driver who never won be the guy who wins today could be Chase Purdy how about Brett Holmes' home game for Former ARCA Champion Menards got the lead right now, yeah the first playoff driver had to come back all the way to 11th and Christian Bailey Deegan is up there in the top five in that number one black Monster Energy truck, eh?
How about that yellow number 13? Right now, sitting in fourth place, Johnny Solder, knows how to do it at these Speedways, he's one here and he's won three times at Daytona. Haley is losing a little ground and here comes help in the form of that 42 piece of carcinosovar. He's back in the game with the damage he had before, he's now running in the top ten and that was right behind hosovar and picker is going to pull inside Haley Deegan, that will be seventh, he's right behind his teammate Jack Wood team. The 24 are having a good run now as they are spreading out three at the back trying to make something happen.
Haley hasn't been able to gain ground on the leaders, even with a big push from Brett Holmes leading the way in that inside lane start. the season for Holmes Holmes is eight, Las Vegas has a part-time schedule and we know that Talladega provides opportunities for drivers and Brett Holmes thinks maybe this could be his day even though we are early here in stage three and we will have boxes. At the stops on this stage, we talk about Stuart Grayson crossing the street to the Talladega short track to race the red farmer. Brad Holmes spent a lot of time racing on Talladega's short track and how good it must feel for that young man to have the lead. at his home track leading the truck race in his backyard, that's Benedetto right behind him, lots of experience here at Talladega and a cup car, nothing at all in a truck until today, great guy that was behind of you, he knows what he's doing in that Rackley 25 truck, Tony thought about fourth position, there's the big Pushed by the Rockley truck, he talked about Chase Purdy hanging there with him tight, asekas starts to lead the drivers of the playoffs back to the front, yes, that's Equis in the outside lane, the first of the playoff group to start to return to the front.
Of the group, side by side, Eckus and his Thor Sports teammate Johnny Sautter talk about drivers who have a part-time schedule; You can't find one more qualified than the former series champion, as Phil noted a winner here and a trio wins at Daytona. The Super Speedway only ran a few races this season, but he's a threat to win every time Chase Purdy jumped out saw a little bit of momentum coming from Atkins jumping out now trying to lead that outside line forward. John Hunter Nemechek and Chandler Smith, your stage one and stage two winners, but they're out of sequence on the pit stops and they're back in 26th and 27th and maybe hanging around a little bit.
Yeah, you saw that too with Zane Smith and Stuart Friesen back. There with them we saw what a disaster the leading group was with all the maneuvers that were happening right in front of them, another pit stop, so it's interesting for me. I think this is just a strategy play that they are going to present. of the dough no there's another stop coming what a mess what a mess Michael what a mess are you talking about I don't want to be a part of this and I like where they are now but you have to rely a lot on your observer you can't see what's happening you just you want to hear if something goes wrong and react that way, but yeah, strategy influences what's going on right now, but Christian Ecker said, "I don't think I like that plan, getting that strategy right." There you have it, it's hard to have an exit strategy when you're in that inside lane, although yeah, there's not exactly much to do.
I thought Kobe hired in '91 spinning now that he's leading that lead group. Haley Deegan in 7th place right now. only Christian Atka says he jumped to the front and Top Lane heard him say Grand Adventure jumped to the top of the race track and started that third line. Look at that mess, he got Parker Kligerman, that blue truck. I don't think 22 is going to shoot. pedal I like to stay at the bottom in case you get caught. I don't think I'm going to clean, what do you think? Phil. I appreciate the optimism of observers, but I don't see it clearly on the outside with Grant and the finger. couple of nice trucks up there, yeah that's Austin Wayne on the 22.
Shoot the Gap in the middle, oh Grant seemed to try to close the door and Austin Wayne said he didn't have it, yeah they just split up, Parker and Grant, and they lost some. boost Chase Purdy and christianeck have been trading the lead up front with Brett Holmes right there too now Kate and Honeycutt is that white truck on the outside number 30. He'll line up again if I'm Kate and Honeycutt I don't have much experience I like to do that, go places, see what he'll do, you'll learn, you gotta try, that's right, get back in line and start over, that's Brett Holmes leading the inside lane Chase Purdy leading the outside lane meanwhile, John Hunter's four .
Nemechek is ranked 26. What are they thinking? Jamie Vince. It's interesting to hear the drivers who were leading the race and were now running behind. John Hunter Nemechek is getting really impatient right now and said, I don't know, guys, I don't feel good about this. I think we have to go, we have to get back up there Eric Phillips, his crew chief said we have plenty of time, just stay calm, if we need to group up and make a move to the front we can do it, just hold on Tony Hirschmann the Observer John Hunter's is also Kyle Bush's place in the cup side.
I know that fight between the crew chief, the spotter and the driver, everyone wants to do something different, it feels like John Hurt. So we have to go in and if I'm the observer and the crew chief watching this mess, that 32 truck has been out of control many times, just like Chase Purdy, there's a lot going on here. I like to lie down right now, but I'm old and isn't it against dryness? I mean, it's against your soul that you will feel comfortable getting instead of 26. You may not like it, but sometimes you have to do it.
Take a look at your points as they run now and that's going to change as they run right now. Yeah, and you see Nemechek and freezing six and seven points below the projected cut line well, they're 25th and 26th right now, we know when the time comes they'll be able to improve their positions oh, Chase Purdy was put in the middle and they will fall to At the back or at least further back you don't have any help in that Middle Lane. I think 32 truckloads of houses have been more sideways than straight. Now you have a little space so we can all breathe a little.
Yes, Alabama. native Brett Holmes out front at Talladega trying to get his first Camping World Truck Series side-by-side win this foreign break thank you, thank you perfect day at Talladega on a cloud in the sky 76 degrees, but you look at the track and it's pretty scary that's that way of putting it Vince Carson hosovar up front but he's got a lot of help uh maybe more than he needs that's Matt De Benedetto right behind him christianeckis up Brett Holmes was put in the middle but he did a great job put in the middle and is now moving towards the back of this leading group, we are in the third and final stage, 37 to go, remember we still have to make a pit stop in this final stage and I think we are in our window.
Now, Vince, if the caution flag came out, these guys and girls could come to Pit Road one last time, barring a lot of extra laps. Well, I've talked a little bit about how dangerous it looked with Brett Holmes in front, this truck was moving. A lot, I think it could have been someone else, he made the decision to push someone new who got on Carcinosovar's back, they took the lead, but there wasn't enough speed there, you see, Eckers turns to the front, Eckers down and That leaves Ryan free, he says. That leading truck overseas hasn't talked much about Ryan today, but he does have a couple of Truck Series wins on his resume.
I hadn't talked about him much, but you knew we would correct Vince, we did, in fact he always comes up front. What he does to Benedetto, we knew he would get him back that way on the outside behind the priests and then he points to one of our playoff drivers who is closing in on the top ten to join Actus, the rest of the guys look relaxed, yes, and that neon yellow truck. fourth in line at the bottom, it looks like Matt Crafton's truck, but it's Johnny Solder's 13th. Here's a good look at Johnny. The former series champion earned a win here at Talladega years ago and is looking to add another.
He was already runner-up once. The season also has another top five, he's only made a few starts, but he did have Junior Joyner, our good friend crew chief, in that number 13 truck. I think Jamie reported earlier that Ben Rhodes had a new truck for this race , which the truck was actually built for. Johnny Sauter looks so good in the wind tunnel that he said, well, let's give it to Ben, so Johnny has one of the older trucks and obviously Johnny is doing a great job, yes, he has been and Chris, the Garbage truck, been strong all day, yeah. the teams made good decisions is the point Ben has been strong all day also about some 66 radios in Jeske the problem with this one if you want to fade back there it's up to you it's close he's probably the best Play with Ed another way, because speaking of strategy regarding coming to Pit Road, come together as a big group of manufacturers, go find all your Toyota friends and come with them, and I'll tell you, don't take this for granted. that these guys in that front group can make a green flag stop without having a problem, we always have it, we see it a lot when they come out of turn four, someone won't get the message and get in touch, you have to be like that. sure when you come to Pit Road in a group and you, uh, if I'm running behind and there's a pit stop, I like to just stay where I am until the pit stops are open and remember that they're racing. 180 85 miles per hour and they come out of turn four and have to go down to 55 miles per hour, so the penalties are sometimes also abundant and explain again the meaning and importance of stopping together with teammates who are teammates. manufacturer team, well, we talk.
Before, when you're out of the draft, it's a couple of seconds back, so your race is over if you finish alone and the way you finish alone is that mistake that Phil just talked about, you get a speeding penalty. uh at this point in the race it's a real problem, also just look at how aggressively they turn into turn four towards the apron trying to get out of traffic, which makes for some exciting moments. I like to go very inward. you're trying to get away from anyone running behind, but not a lot of guys will do that, although I think it's an indicator that they're getting close to those pit stops because everyone's in single file, everyone wants to do it. be at the bottom you don't want to be left out it's John Hunter Nemechek the first to take off and head to Pit Road about 32 to go Little Jamie was there running for a while this was part of the plan to come To get that cut for Clear Vision until the end of the race, they are going to make four tires, actually on the right sides, it seems that only for the foreign audible call, you know, I like this strategy and I will tell you why.
I used to do this when I run, at one point we were talking about Pitt as a group, that was a strategy, but I like to go in alone because then I know I can max out. I don't have to wait for other trucks to stop. I can get. to that line faster if they come on the next lap then it's a good strategy in my opinion and here comes another big group but look if you're behind the 6th and 7th place in line you'll get up to Pit Road speed much sooner . you get there when you get there alone, you can max out, we'll see how that plays out with John Hunter, but I like that watch.
The tire bounces on Pit Road. James absolutely. I think we call that a group of trucks and Chaos, as you saw. Hemember of the team that escapes from the tire goes to look for the right sides only for Ben Rhodes, that's a member. Jessica enters the pits with the rest of the team when she sees that team member is going to get that tire. Uh, she's going to help her team, of course, she retires. Jeske the 52. a storm freezer and get tires and fuel as well as the same deal for Christian Eckers' 98s that you saw were running ahead of the guys, so with the warning coming out, it really plays into the hands of the four microphones or not I don't know how it's all going to mix up, but I think you saw there why I like to pit alone, it's chaos and he was able to prevent them from pitting on the next lap and having those problems and then we saw that tire of Haley Diggin outside. in the middle of the test there and that was because she hit her Tire Care or someone could have hit her Tire carry and knocked a tire out of her hand.
What a disaster, you are exactly here, she comes in a little. Yeah she caught him and he crossed the line and crashed into their tire hauler and that's why now these guys have to dodge this bouncing tire on Pit Road and what a great job they did and I imagine that's what caused the warning . when that crew member ran so close to the race track, which is a No-No to get that tire and that's why the yellow flag was thrown, so it was real chaos just like you guys predicted, so That is our situation where I am in the pits.
On that first hole, I'm going to go in, almost next to the inside wall, so I know I can't stop her from turning, yeah, she, uh, was really good coming into Pit Road, she couldn't get all the way to the lower field, look at her down the middle, passing trucks late towards the entrance area and then she has to dive over it, she's very lucky she doesn't get run over, yeah when you have that pit stall you're right, go as low as you can do it so you don't have traffic to work with, but I think she overestimated her braking power getting too fast and put her in a bad position.
How about Nema checking on Jamie? I know you guys said you'd like that. idea to pit alone, but that wasn't the plan, crew chief Eric Phillips just came out of the pit and was upset. I asked him what was going on and he said that we as an organization, Toyota, had a plan, we went over it several times in the pits. Lap 62 be on Pit Road, no one else listens, we're the only ones who arrived safely, it worked, there was no drama, he'll have a good position on the track. I like this place, there will be more than enough drama, it's coming, stay tuned. foreigner a place where things can change in an instant foreigner enjoy the ride this is Talladega actually the old Alabama International Motor Speedway for those of you who remember and we're around check out our recap of the blue emu race I don't see Chaos on that board anywhere, but trust me, there's been a lot, including the last round we just watched, hasn't there?
More are sure to come John Hunter Nemechek and Chandler Smith, winners of stage one and stage two. I think the surprising thing is that Vince is us. literally, almost the entire field reached Pit Road in the same lap under green. I'll stick with my story, yes, John Hunter Nemechek arrived alone, no drama and the strong one was actually only about four trucks that remained on the track led by Derek Krause who inherited the lead when everyone reached Pit Road. I just stopped. now when Pit Road opened and he lost all track position because everyone who stopped on green, even in that chaos, will restart in front of them and look where John Hunter Nemechek is going to emerge in the top ten and he was running what 26 or something in the backpack yes, there's the Ford truck one of our playoff drivers talking about playoff drivers Stuart Friesen accelerating on Pent Road during that pit stop it's time to do it we didn't need those 25 from Benedetto and the 13 from Jamie Sotter or Johnny Sauter also speeds up talking about Jamie let's go with Jamie oh thanks Vince well I'm just updating what happened with Haley Deegan and her pit crew on Pit Road the tire carrier who ran down the track to grab the tire and help your team.
NASCAR went down. They took his hard card and you'll see he's being escorted out after this incident. Here is a contact. He knocks the tire out of the tire carrier's hand and I think it's probably just instinct to go out and get it, but you can. "No, yeah, yeah, he's got to appreciate his spirit, his effort, man, it's a tough situation, but you can't go out with a big broken rule, yeah, and it's the same thing, you can't be running so close to the In the racetrack, you never know what's going to happen after turn four, so NASCAR did what they had to do and then obviously they're trying to discourage that and, uh, so it doesn't happen again and, speaking safety, if you're just joining us, the incident early in the race involving Jordan Anderson, a burning truck, uh, Jordan was taken to the field care center and then by helicopter to a local hospital, awake and. alert, that's Nascar's word, that's the only report we have regarding his condition, but, uh, awake and alert and It's certainly very good to hear that about Jordan again We want to send our prayers to Jordan and his family now that. we're closing in on the remaining 25.
Mark here at Talladega in the second race of the round of 16. Ty Majeski won the opening race of this one. at Bristol a couple of weeks ago and has secured his place in the championship four. If one of the other seven playoff drivers manages to win today, he will join majeski in that championship four, but we have a long way to go and this is a race that is very often won by drivers who are not in the playoffs. In fact, since the playoff format began here in NASCAR, a playoff driver has never won this race.
Carson Hosovar on the inside Christian Equus on the outside and we'll let the spotters guide you as we go back to green half three quarters half thank you that sounds like what my head feels like going down the interstate all those voices we have a lot going on unfortunately just the We understand you normally listen to an observer, that's right, although all these drivers like different information, that's great for Mark Smith, our producer, heh heh, it gives us an idea of what each driver likes and what they want. 25 to go eckus and hosovar to the front. that other old moment was a note to me looking sure no Grant and the finger got a little push and turned sideways look at Kobe higher than that white truck barely gets into that hole in front of John Hunter the door truck on the outside Great job, where does he go now Middle Lane is going to suck him off and that's exactly what happened every second you have to be on your toes.
Watch the second in line at the bottom get pushed down a liner there by Colby Howard's 91, but What a saving grace that was your own moment Phil, yeah, well, no, that was one of them. The first moment was when Ben Rhodes got on Christian Nakis' back and turned him to the side, but that push led to them leading now the inside line is starting to fight. Carson Hostovar returns in that blue truck and when you get a little out of line, everyone tends to want to check and then you have to be very careful, three four trucks behind, suddenly, everyone starts to lose the accelerator. a little bit and they could be piling up, they have to be paying attention and they have to be ready and like Michael said, they can't really see through that truck, turn the truck in front of it, so it's really challenging and I was noticing when Christian Atkins took a hit from Ben Rhodes and turned them to the side, not only did he have to recover from that but 100 yards later he took out Carson our host to stop him from getting away, there was no room for air too open all the way.
Back on the field, what a group this is. Side to each one from the first 16 places. Abar outside. Echoes outside. Hosavar in the background. Eckus in the playoffs. Hosovar is not Equis with one victory in his career. Hosovar without any. Ben Rhodes. behind his teammate Christian Equus and now they are up one, two in front, our hosts slide at the bottom those two Toyotas have been strong all day along with John Hunter, how about they run the last and second to last Zane Smith and Chandler Smith? Obviously there are a couple of two different schools of thought: we have Atkinson Highways running at the front of the field and these guys think something is going to happen and they want to try to be in position to prevent it, but we know that Chandler and Zane both have damage They've had problems with their trucks, but in my opinion they're fast enough that when something happens, I'm not going to push forward if I go to Winfield, when something happens in this front group, give them a chance to restart I think they have to be a strategy play for those two drivers back there, there is no doubt that we have 22 years to advance, enough time to advance through the countryside, don't forget that black truck outside right now.
There's 17 of them there, it's Colby Howard and the yellow flag was a great job making it look like in a truck incident that the normal tire is down as well as the right front tire on Colby Howard's truck just for the sake of it. spinning top that is among the top ten. when that truck got away from him, probably a draft went wrong, either it wobbled or someone hit it, eh, in an inopportune place, it went, but you're right Phil, really lucky to be just a truck spin , it's not often you bring it up. yellow flag twice in the same race at Talladega and never hit anything or had any further damage.
Colby Howard twice had a tire problem today and uh yeah, that's John Hunter Nemechek, truck four right behind him, the black truck, let's see what's going on here. like he just missed it, he lowered the left side well below the yellow line, which is maybe a little flatter. I'll tell you, let's look at it below the yellow line like you said, then it shows up and he tries to correct it, that's what. That's a great example of how hard it is to keep a truck straight let alone with someone hitting you in the back or pushing you.
These trucks, they don't handle very well here in Talladega and you can see the result of one getting away. but a great save, he was able to keep it off the wall, got him going and he will have a chance to fight in the top ten again. A couple of top tens for Colby Howard this season, at only 20 years old, competing hard for a top. 10 on IRP a couple of races ago when he turned around so he's the guy that keeps showing up to the front fun to see a great team bill mcanally, teammates with Derek Krause and the 19 Napa truck, Colby from South Carolina, without a doubt, all our thoughts and Prayers go out to those who haven't in Carolina and Florida and other places that have been in the line of Hurricane Ian.
What a difficult time it has been for so many in the South East, so much devastation, Zane Smith's 38 on Pit Road. Jamie and Zane Smith. He was back there in 29th, he talked about the damage he has in the right back and decided to bring him in. He had some fuel. They did a chassis tune up there and the right side tires seem to leave the rest of that damage alone while they work. on the left side, Josh and saw Chandler Smith's 18 coming in only to be finished off. There's some damage to the back of that truck that they fixed at the last pit stop when the guys came in, 20 to go at Talladega, the drama.
It's just starting don't miss the Finnish foreigner welcome back to the Camping World Truck Series everyone is competing for this well at least they will be next month in the championship four who will win that trophy that has the security of Ben Rhodes A year ago, like Series champion, we're in the middle race of the round of 16 here today on a perfect day at Talladega and we're less than 20 away from Jeske securing a spot in that Championship four. and one of these other seven playoff drivers hoping to earn their spot to compete for the title the final race of this round a couple of weeks ago at Homestead, but business is shaky right now with Carson Hostovar down and Christiane up which It seemed to be Neiman.
Verification was really resting from Austin Wayne, I didn't do the OBS designs. I'm trying to get some momentum and jump to the high side, maybe around 22. Nothing yet has the Atkinson roads blocked in those Toyotas outside. that big push from Ben's playoff driver shaded in yellow on the left side of the screen on the majeski pylon, of course, in green because he's already healed and advancing to the next round racing that 17 truck crawling around the inside of Roads if you don't. see your driver in the top ten don't worry there are plenty of races left a lot can happen in 18 laps at Talladega in fact a lot can happen on the last lap at Talladega which is usually where we see the winner decide the last four races. the winners just left that laugh you spoke out against, it's an incredible statistic, it just tells you how crazy things are here.
The most endingclose in two thousandths of a second here in Talladega, you see José just told you how hard it is to hold on. to one of these trucks here at Talladega, especially in this tight draft, teammates on the roads and charge on the outside bar at the bottom with Ryan Priest behind him, someone is sweeping to the high side in the back of the group while the front continues side by side. Many rows deep they are next to each other, they look like at least about 10. Man, we haven't mentioned Corey High's name much today and he has worked his way up to the third truck in that inside lane, you know and you .
We're also getting to the point at the race fence where it's not that important if it's a Toyota, a Ford or a Chevy, you just need help, you know you have to use whatever truck is behind you or that you're with. progressing on how to be in a position to be able to win with your manufacturer teammates and sometimes you have to use others to get there. I'm interested in this combination of oh piling on the outside Johnny Sautter involved as well as Tanner Gray. and Grant fingered one of his playoff drivers in that 23 truck, yeah, he did maybe that Stuart Freeze and Chandler Smith strategy, Zane Smith, they're right behind it, it may have been nice.
Austin Wayne himself was that pink tractor on the finger, oh he was that Grant. We were hearing that yes, that was true. Jeff Hensley asked him if he slashed a tire. The right rear part disappeared, not only the tire but the bumper. A break too horrible for the finger opened the playoffs with the victory in the IRP's best average finish in that first round. and has yet to finish outside the top five in the playoffs, four playoff runs, four top-five finishes, including one win, won't be the case today. I think the team without some kind of miracle, the teams wonder a lot if there is a future here. of damage to that truck, Johnny Sautter involved, is Tanner Gray's 15 getting ready to be hanged.
He also showed good speed early in today's race and of course his teammate Ryan Priest is currently in the top five when At this point, for 23rd in the figure, I mean, you're just trying to salvage anything. so that truck can roll because your championship hopes are there, they're just trying to be able to beat the other trucks that are having trouble getting back on the track and reaching the minimum speed and Vince we're all very aware that there could be another big one and if there is another big one they could possibly finish in the top ten with this truck if they can. just get it rolling, get all the wheels pointing in the right direction, panels taped together, let's see what's going on here with Grant, you can see the truck start to move, it's that yellow truck in front of the pink truck, yeah, the fourth one in line outside, he notices that. something went wrong, but as you mentioned, they are so close together that you have no room to maneuver without someone, you let off the accelerator and you crash.
Yeah Austin Wayne had nowhere to go and the weld just got stuck and so did Tanner Graham, there's just a chain reaction, look at the work Parker Kligerman does on the tide truck, that slide spot right between the great Johnny Sautter and Brett Holmes, you know, and sometimes it's those near misses that you come back to at the end of the day. You've won the race and you say, thank God, look, come, look, come tiptoeing at the end of the turn. I don't know if we'll see it or not, but John Hunter Nemechek just came back after his pit stop trumps this too.
Let's see if we can catch John Hunter Larry, that's Haley Haley, dig in the bottom, there goes Parker doing that nice quiet wood inside that majestically maybe Here comes John Hunter. I told you if you waited long enough you would see him there, he is coming down. as he moves around Grant and back toward the double yellow line. He will now avoid Tanner Gray at the 15 and return to the track. This is a reset for some of those guys that were back and that's how it is. At Talladega, sometimes you can get caught up in that, it's not your fault, that was certainly the case and it wasn't even the finger's fault, I really mean a tire, you know?
It's nothing I did wrong, but Johnny Sautter He got caught up in it. Austin White got caught in that and Tanner Gray and there's the finger 23 at least they have it rolling. We have to make more ventilation cuts. Jack. Grinsley, the crew chief, remembers that there is also a damaged vehicle policy that you must comply with, they have six minutes to make all repairs and then he has to reach the minimum speed and that will reset the clock. You must stay on top of the weather. decreases in figure returns to Pit Road to repair more damage we will go to halftime returns for the last laps in Talladega here thank you tonight on Fox the fight for the National League This is on Pete Alonso and the Mets taking on Ronald Acuña Jr and the Braves o maybe you'll see the Rays and Astros the action starts at seven o'clock ET on Fox check out the game in your area time of year playoff action in NASCAR and Major League Baseball it's a great time of year To Vince he loves it.
NFL college football is in the air. How about this Chandler Smith group's radio plus 20? very good when you got our point about going home, but that's where my thinking is, if we could just move on, like I'm basically saying I don't have consent to come back here and make something big happen because if we build up that buffer, it will. go down to plus 10, maybe less, you have to look at the big picture here, right? I mean, if you're Chandler Smith and you look at the playoff standings there at the bottom left of the screen, he's plus 23.
It's not a bad strategy either, you know, 23 points above the projected cut line. I mean, that's more than half of what a winner usually averages. The guy leading in points will average about 40 points over the course of the year, so it's not a bad strategy. strategy and he just says if I stay here and don't wreck, I'll go to Miami with some protection and that's what I'm looking for, you said it Vince, the big picture is to be able to get to Phoenix and win. a championship and sometimes as we sit here as announcers knowing that, in my opinion, there's another accident ahead that's going to happen, so you decide to stay out of that mess while Grant Infinger goes on, you must be about to run out your shock watch, right? he's very close to the damaged vehicle policy Jamie yeah you've got six minutes on the damaged vehicle policy Jamie we just told him we're good that's all the time we have you guys trying to finish you're using a saw for concrete.
They have a saw, a baseball bat, they carry duct tape, they don't know if it's fully functional if they're going to be able to continue, but they gave it their all and guys, they just told me it was confirmed. Faith, the last stop they had. They only took left tires so they stayed out on the right side tires and you see the damage here on the right rear that loosened teammate Jack Wood showing ropes as well and he also took less at the last stop huh You know, I don't think the crew members get enough credit for the work they do on damage and some of these severely damaged trucks and cars at the Xfinity Cup level as well.
I mean, when you review, I mean just getting them in a condition where they can roll and continue the race, I mean, it's amazing and it's not always the same. They have to be able to adjust on the fly and cut loose bumper bars, like you could see the bumper bar hanging down, but it was hanging down even. Worse yet, they cut part of it. The work they did now is amazing. I'm sure they are discussing how close they were to the damaged vehicle policy and to reset that clock they have to reach the minimum speed once the green flag appears. is displayed and if the warning came out, if we were to crash immediately, they are still not authorized, they still cannot return to Pit Road if they are that close to the damaged vehicle.
Policy that he's going to hit the minimum speed if they can just run a couple of laps because he'll be in the back and I think the trucks are good enough to hold up late in the draft, especially if he has someone behind him giving him a truck. of thrust, it is out of hosovar at the bottom. eckus leads the top lane as they take the green, 10 to go, the top 10 isn't all filled with yellow, the only two playoff drivers in the top ten and they are the first two trucks on the outside lane we've seen. that 42 truck is loose, you see it already swinging, so keep your eyes on the leader Ryan Priest, really aggressive with the push Ken Carson, hold on to that truck.
Carson hosovar in that 42 leading here comes the Toyota Brigade at the outer gate, the sports team said before. very strong today we are on the home screen lying on the outside right behind this 99 of Brett Holmes oh what a great story that would be of Holmes and that blue and yellow 32 as Phil said third on the outside line Former ARCA champion native of Alabama won the Arca Championship a couple of years ago, but a career victory that an ARCA has never won here in the Camping World Truck Series and what a day to do it at their home track in Talladega, but they have a long way to go. , nine laps remaining. still leading their respective lines, I think Chandler Smith has made that decision with Heart, he's running behind, he's leading the pack behind this big group about two seconds back, look at all the movement, I think if you can see that right there, Vince I would be happy.
With this position he put himself in, I believe Grant Enfinger effectively wiped the clock off the damaged vehicle policy. Yes, he is still showing a turn down due to the time it took him to make those repairs. Oh look, they're a big bubble. the outside kept his leg in, although didn't he have eight turns left? It's like a ticking time bomb here, it looks like Ryan Priests is second 17th on the inside winner line earlier this season in Nashville running a halftime schedule, but he's always a threat to win Corey High, third in the inside row, got a couple of wins this season again on a part time schedule and there it is, just like we're used to seeing Corey, I'm always emerging to the front running. in that third position at the end of the track, he's a winner and ARCA at the super Speedways look at that accordion back and forth bouncing off each other seven laps remaining.
I think Nema checked it out and those guys in the back have made their decision now that we have. We're going to have to move to the front with only seven to go ooh, most of us sideways again and he's not getting a push, he's that loose. Here come Stuart Friesen and John Hunter Nemechek, left side of your screen, Chandler Smith in Also pictured were the three fastest trucks on the track on the final lap trying to catch their front end just outside the top 20. And if If they are, if they are upset or angry about their position, if they could see what they are looking at on the right of this television screen and they would say, "Okay, I get it, these guys can't help but tear each other apart.
Imagine that nerves of Brett Holmes haven't been in this situation before in the Camping World Truck Series, up there at the front. competing for a win let alone doing it in front of friends and family at his hometown track hearing that Talladega Alabama what story would that be right now he's on the back roads everyone is pushing and pushing right now it's amazing that I have been able to hold on to those trucks, look at that big push that the 32 receive from God, damn it, Benedetto. Thanks Vince, below the line and he has a problem, yes, no, he won't accelerate again for sure, right, we're tired. now it looks like Camping World Five will be going green as host of our out of the mix how about Fred Holmes now in the lead now he has to try to handle this mess Phil has to handle both lines oh Jose bar stopped at the race track that putting out the yellow flag hasn't made a big move in yet and now the yellow flag is out and hosovar has the 42 on and rolling again, well those guys that were laying down were right about there being a yellow flag flag , it just didn't happen like they thought it probably would, they didn't think it was going to look like that.
Does NASCAR do it? If you lose a right, you can see it. It looked like it had had a puncture for about 10 laps, it was finally loose enough and it finally went away. and somehow he is able to get out of the way, luckily he didn't pile up the whole field right there, he did a great job getting out of the way, yes, the right rear tire is flat, you could see it there, these teams can be. overestimated the length they could run on those right side tires, eventually it's going to spin, at least he'll make the half turn necessary to warn, he had it reshot after the yellow flag came out, NASCAR many times got youWe will disapprove, but they feel.
Do you practice that intentionally and how do you get it out like that? Yes, well, that's a penalty, no, no, yes, you're being penalized. Yeah, as we mentioned, they frown on that and you know they're going to consider it and how. Well, we'll bring enough to warn, too, they should be, as mentioned, turned around, but that sets up a gunfight for sure all the way here at Talladega. Remember the last four races, as Michael has mentioned a couple of times today in the last four races. Here at Talladega, the winner's LED, only the last lap gives you an indication of the drama.
We anticipate that some of the closest finishes in Series history have come at super Speedways, including right here at Talladega 2010, Kyle Busch winning by 2,000 of a second. Put that guy Russell on this, uh, who hadn't left a lap yet, that might be the favorite to take this baby because we're just priests, maybe Ryan Sacerdote, Benedetto, is up there, yeah, I think Brett Holmes He has left a lot to Corey Heim. Isn't Lane Perkins doing a great job holding down the sixth spot right now? Speaking of close finishes, the Truck Series has had them over the years.
It's going to be hard to tell, yeah, if it's that close, yeah, if it's two thousandths of a second, it's hard to call them after Ariana in a final photo now, if you're Chandler Smith, what do you do? You talked about running around 20th place and coming out of there with those points they are going to stock up for basically maybe a two lap penalty shootout I have to go I have to go I don't know I would have relaxed last time it will be overtime to finish , it looks like we have two left to get here with the lights still on in the safety truck and we are told that it will indeed be overtime Christian Equus at the front, no matter what happens, come back to start Upside down finish line on fire, be it whatever you need to cross crossing partner j-rod as crew chief bring him back just bring the wheel back that's easy to say something with that pit box, isn't it?
It's in a good place. A very fast truck did a great job today. And now that? Do you choose the line? I mean, it's okay to work together now if it goes out and then restarts, it's too late for that. Wouldn't Ben automatically let him in? Well, I think it's interesting, you know, you talked about Michael, you mentioned him before. I think you know the teammates and the manufacturer teammates and that all goes out the window at some point. I think we're at that point, right? I mean, if they were brothers, at some point it goes out the window, Vince.
Oh my gosh, we've talked about Equis being up front, how about that teammate right behind him in the bright orange? uh, Ben Rhodes, Jamie, yeah, I'm Ben Rhodes, who came on the radio and said, "Okay, it's that time, right." more fuel economy Duke Ben Rhodes stuff and I'm telling you guys there's a lot of energy in your box, this new sponsor on board, there's about a thousand people here to see this in person, so of course you're supporting 99 to take it home. a thousand people holding their breath at the same time and the three of us and the three of us, yeah, Phil and I have been there and done that, so we're a mess as soon as we're a mess before the race starts and they start wrecking to don.
Don't mention the word wreck, NASCAR overtime, it's a two lap shootout and they'll take the green flag and if they come back and get the white flag, then the next flag in the race, whether it's the yellow flag or the checkers flag, if we have a warning before the leader takes the target, then we'll put it back and do it again for unlimited tries. What a beautiful day, we'll have a great way to start the weekend here at the Talladega playoff races and the three. from the series we notice that Christian took the inside now that he wasn't going to go outside just to play knowing that his teammate was going to let him in, but he also gets Matt to go to Benedetto, yes, a good one Great, Pusher has a lot experience.
I thought he was going to do a great job saying his name, Mike, but you also want Matt to put Benedetto on your bumper in this situation. Now Matt will try to take it away as soon as he can, but that's on him. best chance to get a big push and that's from the 25 Equis truck and Rhodes in the front row Jamie yeah, a lot of communication in the 99 trying to decide, he said, it doesn't matter what you give up a couple of places, but keep going until there as fast as possible Christian Neck is that double yellow line is his best friend, he knows that if he has Matt De Benedetto behind him pushing, if he stays next to that double yellow line, he will have a great opportunity here, about of experimenting versus inexperience in this. stage of the race I just think it's all pretty straightforward here Ben will try to do everything he can on the outside and Christian in the back and they know what's at stake, what's hanging in front of them, very aggressive, you just have to stick with it open here and wait for the right pushes what better way to solve it, uh, NASCAR overtime on the roads of Talladega and Equis in the front row.
What's happening in the second row looks like the bottom is very well organized here. Benedetto gives a good push. into the palms of Hackus and off the rear bumper of Rhodes' 99 and that will have momentum. At first he didn't catch up, but now that he's there, look at him, we're on Holmes right now doing a great job pushing Ben. Rhodes is going to push him to the front. They both have clear paths and houses 1-2 now against Equis, that momentum was impressive and here they come on the outside, now they are heading outside to join Rhodes and the back line.
It's moving with a push from De Benedetto, it's Holmes in the lead, a couple of Chevrolets down at the bottom for Benedetto and Holmes, the Toyotas are doing a side draft trying to break that white flag is out, one to go, the next one ends, the next flag ends, it is doubled. as you mentioned, it's Holmes, the Alabama native, trying to win for the first time in his Camping World Truck Series career, the former ARCA champion, he's out front, he may be too far away now, Vince Here Comes Rhodes with a ekkus push. teammate on the outside and Rhodes Cuts in front of the houses look at Corey Heim now pushing on the outside Equus on the outside roads on the inside teammates on Thor sport here they enter the triunval Rex to the outside The rogues are still there trying to hold on and the yellow and the checkers fly and it's Brent Holmes Holmes on the outside line and I think Carnage did it everywhere but Brett Holmes snuck into The High Line and I think he got to the line first wow Matt a Benedetto was sideways at the bottom we were next to each other, it was too close to call you for my part, you talked about two thousandths of a second Phil, that's what the time and score show now, but they certainly are unofficial wrecked vehicles in everywhere we didn't really have a big one but we also set up on top of the show it doesn't end until the end of the last laugh and obviously a lot of trucks break down and it's not official yet to see this move crash on the outside Brett Holmes somehow gets to the end Nemechek did a great job avoiding that, I sure took some big hits back, at the back is the block towards the top along the roads and look off the racetrack, went to Benedetto and just to the outside like houses, I think it's, I think it's house, it's definitely crossed the line. certainly the benedetto and that's what the time and the score say right now that Holmes wins, as you mentioned, Michael by two thousandths of a second, what a great shot guys, it was the caution, the caution was canceled before reaching the finish line, yes, if the caution was then that will end the race and they will go back to whatever they need to videotape.
Whatever evidence you can use to support that, I think Holmes got Holmes to the finish line first, but the yellow flag came out before that point and that's what Nascar is looking at to see which vehicle was actually ahead at that point. and yes, depending on the timing of the warning, the flip of the switch when the warning becomes official for Benedetto was out of bounds and sideways, so they have to understand everything that they forced him down there, so there's a lot to consider and he was wrecking there, so Johnny Sautter walking to the ambulance, we mentioned Nemechek going through that, obviously he got caught later because he ends up crossing the line like finishing 24th from now on, but that could all change depending on when produced the moment of caution and what the race order was at that time.
Remember the end at Daytona, how we had to get around the caution flag and how that affected us. Exactly the result of the race, what a harrowing time this mess will be for Brett Holmes. I love how the team just said to get ahead of him a little bit. I don't think it matters now if you don't think about this video. matters a lot, certainly we get a picture of it at least properly, we'll give you the

replay

again from above and stay tuned for when the warning comes out when they start initially trashing with Corey Heim.
Well, Christian has lost his neck. a little bit of momentum and then Tyler Ankrum got behind Corey Heim right there, yeah that depends on if the caution flag comes out here, does Ben Rhodes win? I mean, it depends on how fast the caution flag came out and it's hard to tell by the angles which truck was ahead and when the caution flag went long, Ben Rhodes is ahead here, even though Vince likes that he's crashing, he They're crashing, there's a yellow exit and remember it's not the caution flag waving, it's when they flip the switch to turn. the lights on they see Nemechek and they both freeze sliding across the grass of the field the benedetto is ahead of the roads whether or not they considered that he had gone below the yellow line to get ahead of the roads he was definitely pushed down the yellow line how do they rule that Yeah, absolutely, I certainly appreciate what all of NASCAR is trying to figure out right now.
It will take a couple of minutes. It could be another truck that needs to drive over there and get into that mix, and that's Ben Road and they'll know they're there. They'll have a timestamp of when the caution light switch was pressed so they know, then they just have to go back and watch all the videos that correspond with that time step aboard the 99, look for the light on the wall. for a yellow light here right here is yellow, the light is on and the Benedetto is in front at that point, but if those roads had been off, I might have known that we could have caught that and the yellow light. been there already is not enough, it's official Matt's 25th for Benedetto, the winner at Talladega, the first victory of his career, guess how many laps two evidence to the end of the chain, Mike, can you believe how about that? ?
I'm so happy for Curtis Chad Kendrick. and all the guys on Team Rackley and Matt and Benedetto, well, what about the job he did hanging on to that thing that was crashing coming to the checkered flag? So much was expected of this team, right? because I think the fact that you know here's a guy who's been in the Cup series for seven years, now he's coming to the trucks and they're going to go out with a bang and it's been a struggle, I mean, they've had some struggles and They've gotten better and better and better and today they finally get what they were looking for The checkered flag their first victory and only led one lap We've talked about the unpredictability now you better stay until the end incredible fifth year in a row in How heartbreaking when you see the celebration of Benedetto and Company, how heartbreaking it must be for Brett Holmes, who I'm sure believed he was the winner of the race, but the chaos at the end you examine and go out with Matt.
About Benedetto, you know it's interesting. I talked before about Ben Rhodes saying we can win this race today, this is our race to win. He came so close to doing just that and making it safe in championship four, but it's still a big day for Ben Josh Sims is with the winner. This is a moment I'm sure you've thought about for years throughout your career. What does it mean now to be celebrating the first victory of your career? Oh man, that's taking so long to come. Praise God. glory to God and thank you so much man my fans are so grateful that you put up with so much with me and me being a reckless human being sometimes alone through life and so many life changes.
I am very grateful. Grateful for doing this I'm so grateful for everyone I love I love you all the ugly fans Rackley Roof war shocks uh this whole team I'm a break I think I was more nervous waiting to hear what happened yeah talking about it . I mean, not just analyze that last lap, but analyze the weight you were at the end and what was going through your mind during these last 10 minutes. Oh man, my spotter Doug Campbell is amazing, we worked together really well, I think in the cup series. We have turned on LEDs like the FlagBlanca twice here or something at Talladega, so I owe a lot to him and in the end we were really committed to staying on the back and pushing this, it pushed well, so I was just committed to Stay there and push whoever is in front from me and I'm so grateful I'm not even that grateful I'm so grateful thank you Lord, thank you for a beautiful day and all these racing fans, this is amazing, this team deserves it.
To have Curtis Sutton, my team owner, Rackley Roofing, support me 100 percent is absolutely incredible, and Willie Allen, our other team owner, and more shock absorbers, and my crew chief, Chad, all these guys, man, we've been through some growing pains and this like As much as her, I'm very proud of this team, congratulations Matt, well John Hunter Nemechek LED, 20 laps today and at the end of the last lap you're one of those trucks spinning around the field , take us through the last moments on this race track, what is it like? I've been on the good side and the bad side and overall I'm very proud of everyone at kbm for bringing three fast Toyota Tundra TRD Pros.
Here at Talladega we had speed, we ran the first two stages very intelligently and we won. uh Max stage points between Chandler and I and we tried to position ourselves in a good spot there for the finish and 51 turned around um or something happened and he was coming back down the racetrack and uh he just got hit from behind trying to stay out of I walked it um and then the car or the truck behind me ended up getting hit by the 51 there so it spun across the grass probably should have ended up I don't know 12 14 somewhere around where Chandler did it um but 24 so we gets behind the cut now, I'm looking forward to Homestead, one of my favorite places to go, so let's get it behind the cup, but only four points up right now, Vince, so, John Hunter Nemechek with some anguish but without anguish for Matt De Benedetto. the first LED lap of his career takes him to victory at Talladega, now the first victory of his career, he has been through a lot, it is the race and the step and he enjoys the celebration so meaningful for Matt De Benedetto, the first LED lap of his race and the win today for Maddie D and then there's the heartbreak of Alabama native Brett Holmes, he's with Jamie Little and Brett Holmes.
The agony of defeat and Brett. I just want to take advantage of the excitement of first leading here at your home race track in the truck series, thinking you won the race and then learning. Looking back, you actually finished second, it's hard, you know, to lose something so close, we lost our race here so close, um, I don't know, we probably lost it closer today, so um, I just want to win here so badly that I can't. Hang in there, you know, I have so many people here from my hometown, friends and family, and I just grew up racing on the dirt track across the road.
It means the world to me to win here and you know it seems like the last two years at Orca we've been there, the trucks, the truck racing, we've been there and um it's super hard. I hate that we couldn't make it for everyone. I feel like I wish the race had ended at the finish line because I feel like we already had it, but, you know, I just want to thank Golden Eagle Syrup and my team for the sport today and for giving us a fast truck, you know. , it seemed like we were ahead on every line.
We pushed really well and I don't know, we just fought to finish it there, even in the dark races, so I want to come back full time next year. I'm just trying to do it, trying to work things out. and, you know, I hope that we can get more support to do that and, yeah, you definitely know to show that we are here and we deserve to be here and that we can be competitive regardless of whether we are a full-time truck or not. Regardless of how much help we get or not, it's hard to lose, there's certainly a lot to be proud of today Vince, well only two playoff drivers finished in the top ten today and that leaves the playoff standings looking like this unofficial .
I should point out because there's still a lot to figure out in Carnage at the end, but it's pretty tight as we head to Homestead Miami in a couple of weeks. I think Grant and Finger know they have to win. Tom and Jeske know he has one sometime, everyone else is scratching their head a little Chandler Smith pretty sure, probably sure, yeah, but after that, it'll be a free for all, four guys within four points, awesome , the final race in this round of eight will be on Saturday, October 22, a couple of weeks away and will begin with race day at Homestead Miami Speedway at noon Eastern Time, and then we will drop the green flag a little later one o'clock Eastern time.
Wow, what a great day today, uh, Talladega, never. disappoints, it does for Jamie, little Josh Sims, Michael Waltrip, Phil Parsons, congratulations to Matt De Benedetto, Caitlin Vincy, on the next post-race show, stay tuned overseas.
