I'm sorry I can't invite you here today. We will try to respond as best we can, as if you were all here with us. Finally, we are back with our fourth full album. I will try to answer your questions as best I can. We were planning to invite members of the press here in this great place, but we will reach you live through the Youtube live stream.
I was wondering if J-Hope would say "I'm the journalist's hope," since none of them are here today, but you are. Of course I have to since they're watching, right? I'm sure we have a lot of people tuning in today. For today's global press conference, we will talk about the album by answering questions from the global press. The words you see here on the screen are key words from questions asked by the world's press. You can see many keywords on the screen. We asked the press to submit their questions before the event and based on their questions, and we compiled the keywords on this screen.
RM, is there anything special you would like to say to those who submitted their questions? Once again, thank you for being here today. We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you. There are many keywords on both walls. If you choose the keyword that stands out for you, we will reveal the question about that keyword. Don't hesitate to answer them. Let's choose the first keyword. Can I ask Jin to choose the first one? I'll start, then we have 7 members, so I'll choose "7". Let's look at the question. MOS: 7 remembers the seven years since we met as a team.
We sang about the joys of the world and our images on our previous album, Persona. We wanted to show something different this time. We wanted to talk about the paths we traveled. and our emotions We show our deepest interior, as our confession of recognizing what is inside us. I see that the number 7 means a lot. There is one more thing. Some of you may wonder why we have combined the concepts of Shadow and Ego into one album. Last year, we went on an extended vacation, after discussions with the company. The return was slightly delayed. Having returned in ten months. , we wanted to tell more and better stories.
So we discussed how to put Shadow and Ego's ideas together. That's why the album contains our shadows, the difficulties we face, and the ego, our acceptance of them as part of us. So 7 became a very aptly titled book. It's our first comeback in 10 months, combining the ideas of Shadow and Ego. Giving it a somewhat heavy title of "7", I think it contains our

soul

, strength and effort that was put into it. Thank you RM, for your response. We will continue with our next keyword. Let's choose our second keyword. Who would like to be next? I will choose this time.
I'll choose our title song, "ON." You asked about the lyrics. I think I need to talk about our theme song. ON ON contains the powerful energy and sincerity of BTS. Sometimes we stumbled over the last seven years and sometimes we wandered a little. The shadows would grow larger, and so would our fears. After seven years, I think we've grounded ourselves. We learned how to connect to ourselves, and the lyrics show our determination to face and fight our fears. The film Kinetic Manifesto for “ON” was also released. last Friday with the album It's a massive performance with us, dancers and a marching band.
We have our individual, unit and group choreography. There is our powerful performance. We worked hard to prepare, so we hope you like it. I saw the movie too and I was amazed. It was really huge. We'll also talk about the choreography later, but the performance made me think, "This is BTS." I'll try to dance it somewhere so if you see me, please say something nice. I think it highlighted BTS' presence as global artists once again. Now, why don't we ask V to choose the third keyword? There are many of them. I'll choose "concept photos." Conceptual photo.
We had four versions of concept photos revealed before the album. From depictions of black and white swans to recreated artwork and photographs showing their real selves without costume, all of BTS's charms could be seen. Now let's look at the question. So the question is, what is the process of making the album? As perfectionists, how do you make your album? The solo tracks contain each member's personal story and their own unique genre. The duets, we had our "Deja Vu" with Jung Kook, Jimin and j-hope. This time we have "Friend" by Jimin and I, and "Respect" by RM and Suga.
The group's tracks contain a variety of genres and styles. V, it's "Jamais Vu", not "Deja Vu". I am deeply hurt. We have shown you albums from series like HYYH and LOVE YOURSELF. So we took the narrative of the album seriously. That's why MOS7: it is part of the MOS series. The tracklist organically connects songs spanning Persona-Shadow-Ego. Black Swan”, for example, is a confession of the fears that an artist experiences. “Louder than Bombs” featuring world-renowned pop singer Troy Sivan is also a revelation of the shadow within us. We also have songs that show our “Ego”. , like “We are Bulletproof: Eternal” expresses our willingness to move forward even in the face of these tests.
Thanks, j-hope. MOS:7 has 20 tracks, including the title track “ON”, so I think it really shows all the effort and thought that was put into it. Can RM choose the following keyword please? I would like to select our recent project, CONNECT, BTS. It was a global art project with modern art artists from around the world as they found they could relate to BTS's values such as positivity over diversity, connectivity and communication. Let's look at the question. I think a lot of people wanted to know more about this. We're back after 10 months and we're thinking a lot about what kind of projects we should do because we're getting more and more love as time goes by.
This is something we think about before every return. How we should promote our album and what kind of projects we should do in relation to our album, that's why we decided to start CONNECT, BTS. In fact, the reason we started this project was this. When we come back, we 7. We can't be separated, we all have to be in one place. And when we return we will not be able to have concerts at the same time in places like Buenos Aires, London and New York, where the exhibitions now take place. They are harnessing the power of contemporary art so that we come back and we can all enjoy it physically.
This is how this project started. I have come to really like contemporary art and I am studying more about it. The languages and modes are different, but truly contemporary art and music convey the same story. Both convey the spirit of the time. They transmit values such as connection and communication. They are both art forms. That's why we collaborated to create a public art project. Because you talked about visual projects. I can't leave out the art film, "Black Swan," because it was also a completely new experience for me. We worked with a Slovenian contemporary dance team and they reinterpreted our song with creative choreography.
I think some fans were surprised, but Since "Black Swan" is a kind of self-confession of artists, the focus was on expressing artistic emotions. That's why it's so different. We tried to make the choreography of "Black Swan" reflect the art film, so I hope you like it. Thank you. Thanks, Jimin. He showed how modern music and art artists could inspire each other. Who would like to choose the fifth keyword? I will choose the next Jung Kook. I'll go with 2020 2020. It's this year. Let's look at the question. There are two questions here and I think I can answer both in one go.
My answer is ARMY. The precious moments we experienced so far and how we were able to be where we are today was all thanks to ARMY. Plus, we kicked off 2020 at the Grammy Awards with so many amazing artists. It was truly an honor to be there again and again, that was also possible thanks to ARMY, so I would like to thank each and every one of them. Next April we will have a concert that I can. I can't wait to show ARMY what we've been working on live with our own voices. I'm sure ARMY is looking forward to seeing us.
We also. I really hope that the day of the concert arrives with everyone healthy and happy. Jung Kook said that ARMY is what makes you focus and be happy in 2020. You also opened 2020 at the Grammys and BTS became the first Korean artist to perform. Can you tell us what that was like? Someone? We went to the Grammys two years in a row. It's a great honor. Last year we went on stage to present an award. So I really wanted to come back and perform, and we did it right after a year, so it feels like a dream. come true It reminded me of when we first went to the Billboard Music Awards, we received our awards and I just couldn't believe it.
Performing at the Grammys this year was really fun and exciting and reminded me of the Billboard Music Awards. award and then I acted. Continuing to get the award and then performing was like we were moving step by step towards the Grammys. So it was great and I'm looking forward to next year. Of course you have to go. But we can't go just because we want to. I am sure that if you want it, you will achieve it. We will do our best to go next year and I hope so too. Yes, we will do our best.
Thanks SUGA. We will look forward to it. Thanks for sharing that with us. Who will take the next keyword? I will choose next, I choose BTS BTS. Let's look at the question. This is the first time I've been asked about our legacy. I think our legacy would be our songs and albums and I hope that's the case. We express our stories through our letters. We put a lot of effort into making quality albums like Map of the Soul or Love. Yourself So the albums are very valuable to us and fortunately, despite the language barrier, the fans understand us, listen and empathize with us, and we are grateful for that.
Just as artists' songs from decades ago still speak to people now, I hope our songs can also speak to fans. That would be our most precious legacy. It is a legacy, indeed. You are building a legacy as you speak and I am sure this legacy will continue for decades to come as your songs will continue to resonate. Now we canmake j-hope select the last keyword? Since I'm last, I choose goal. Let's look at the question. I think I should talk about the goals of the new album. MOS: 7 contains our individual stories, but I must say that it is the story of all of us.
It contains our emotions from the last 7 years, as well as those of our fans. So I hope our fans. I can also share these emotions through the album. I hope it will also be a meaningful album for our fans. I think that's our first goal. If it's meaningful to you, I'm sure it will be the same for the fans. V? Our tour, which Jung Kook mentioned, I hope goes well. I hope we can stay healthy, not get hurt, and be happy. Their goal is to keep us happy and healthy while on tour. I hope all that comes true.
Thank you for your sincere answers. I hope everyone watching has had a chance to get answers to at least some of the questions you have about the new album. But this is not the end. No way. Although members of the press are not here, they submitted their questions for the Q&A session. They have sent their questions yesterday and today. English interpretation answers will also be provided. I would like to thank the press for submitting their questions. Let's look at the first question. First, I'm a fan of Director Bong. I've seen all of his movies. Yes, I'm a fan.
I understand he was answering a question about Korean culture. I think that's high praise, I'm actually embarrassed. I'm not sure if we have that kind of influence. I think there is still a long way to go. He said Korea is an emotionally dynamic country with many fantastic artists. We are very grateful that he mentioned us in that regard. I think he meant that he hoped more Korean artists would find fame on the international stage. I'm very grateful and Parasite was amazing. Big fan. That was his message to Director Bong. He said "3000 times" and you may not know it, but BTS is the bridge that connects the world to Korea with K-pop and director Bong Joon-ho is doing that with his movies.
Can we see the next question?
