BRIGHTBURN (2019) Ending Explained

Jun 27, 2024
Hello everyone, welcome back to found movies. I know it's been a while since I uploaded these because I was on vacation the last two weeks, but now I'm back and ready to rock with a ton of new videos on the way. Let's start with the new superhero horror movie Bright Bird or a boy from another world with powers similar to Superman. It turns out that he is not a hero at all, but something much more sinister. The idea of the movie is basically: What if Superman was evil? which is a pretty strange concept for a movie in itself, not something we've seen too much of in the superhero genre, an obvious subversion of the standard Superman origin story and that's all the movie has going for it , is much more.
brightburn 2019 ending explained
It's a more simplistic and mild film overall than I anticipated, it really only works on that basic level and not much else. It definitely has its fair share of problems, like incredibly dumb characters who make terrible decisions all the time and a basic plot that leaves many more behind. interesting unexplored concepts, it still works for me and what sets out to be an anti-hero horror film plays as if instead of Michael Myers or the like our slasher was a super being from another world, these aspects of the film are all well done. The horror set pieces are tense and exciting and also feature some surprisingly over the top gore which is always welcome in my book, however it still left me wanting more, particularly in regards to how simple the story is and there is many greater ideas that feel abandoned.

Without much consideration, there are a lot of questions left at the end that I will do my best to piece together because even the main point of why the boy is here in the first place doesn't get the attention he deserves, so let's investigate. in brilliant burns that explore the film in general and its concepts, what are some of the most important missing pieces of the story and explain the

ending

that opens up the possibilities for a sequel that we open on a farm in the middle of nowhere in the small rural town in bright Byrne Kansas where a couple Tori and Kyle are trying to conceive a child based on several books floating around the house related to pregnancy and fertility, it seems like they haven't had much luck so far in that regard and maybe can't have a child of their own, all that will change in a moment, however, when Torii hears a sound outside, drawn to a still-smoking glowing red object that crashed there, we don't see the immediate aftermath, but instead move forward through of the life of a Young Brandon, his adopted son, who was discovered in the accident, the object that brought him not a means of communication or, indeed, his spaceship, although it seems strange, anyone who finds a child in a crashed spaceship would have the first thought: sure, let's adopt him. like ours, but if the previous indicators that they are unable to have a child are true, this helps us understand their motivations and, in a sense, it might seem that their long-standing prayers for a child have been answered from the heavens even .

Although he is from space and tactically an alien, on the surface he appears to resemble any normal child and during his early years there do not appear to have been any strange incidents related to his origins; No, when talking about him, Kyle mentions that he has never bled or had a cut or bruise of any kind, something that would be impossible for the average child to avoid, we don't meet the family on the brink of Brandon's 12th birthday and Things are starting to turn sour quickly as the age of hormone-driven puberty approaches, huh? which is where he first shows signs of being something very different and powerful than a human being one night on the farm.
brightburn 2019 ending explained
Brandon wakes up to strange grunts and distorted voices that cause him to convulse violently in his bed and his eyes turn a bright, piercing red in a daze, he sleepwalks toward a nearby barn attracted by a closed trap door. More red and white shining from below. It's a spaceship that his parents have kept hidden from him there all these years and it seems to be awakening the alien side of his physical body. Pulling on the door chains and singing angrily, Tory finds him and manages to calm him down. The child returns to his usual state and asks the mother where he is without realizing what he has been doing, which shows that there is an internal division between the child and his true self.
For now, another incident allows us to see how powerful the boy is when his father asked him to cut the garden. Brandon, frustrated, throws the lawnmower into the air and it lands at least a hundred feet away, the blades still spinning, and he curiously reaches into them. which breaks them upon impact but leaving him without a scratch and his darker and more distant nature becomes more predominant without even responding to his father when he sits silently chewing a fork that has been smashed in his mouth although it has no effect on him. his teeth. Torian Kyle Attributing strange behavior to his changing body.
I remember eating Forks when I was 12 and decided to take him on a family camping trip and his dad awkwardly tries to explain to him that he's attracted to girls and then it's okay to play with him. The penis, like I said, is uncomfortable and Brandon doesn't fully understand the correct way to do it, he disappears into the night and shows up at the house of a classmate he has a crush on, at least creating a romantic atmosphere with good music in his computer, which even after. She turns it off, opens up and continues playing. Kaitlyn gets scared.
She freaks out when she sees Brandon between the window curtains, but as quickly as she appeared, she disappears into the woods. Tori and Kyle look for him and discover him nearby, brushing. his concerns about his whereabouts said he was just using the bathroom, good friend, although he won't be able to hide his changes much longer at school, scribbling a series of strange symbols in a notebook that looked like two bees like his initials, one facing each other. other. another, along with a rudimentary mask and a costume sketch, his mother glances over, congratulating him on his skill, but instead of responding, she closes the book angrily and rushes to reveal secrets.
Brandon, his path to a full-blown killer aligns almost perfectly with that of a series. The killer was later found in the barn by Kyle staring at his chickens, all of whom were going crazy in his presence, although he assured his father that he was fine. Later that night, we find out how bad that is when Kyle wakes up to noises and bright lights in the barn approaching. the chicken cage and finding them all brutally mutilated, the door and lock torn off. Kyle tries to confront Tori about it thinking it must have been Brandon responsible for her, but she refuses to believe her baby could do something so horrible and she blames a wolf despite a wolf. not being able to, you know, tear down the door showing us how much he really cares about him, turning a blind eye to the many indicators that there's definitely something off about him, his violence only gets worse from here the next day when the school resorts his first human victim doing a confidence drop exercise in gym class, the other pushes him back as instructed, except Caitlyn, who pulls away, disgusted, Branden falls to the floor, the teacher demands help, but she She refuses to call him a pervert and he orders her around. to help him up, but when she extends her hand, Brandon grabs it, her grip getting tighter, breaking all the bones in her hand in the principal's office.
Caitlin's mother, Erica, is angry that Brandon was imprisoned and accusing whoever her real father is. a psychopath, well she's certainly starting to seem that way, but Torie always denies that her son is anything but good and declares that it's an accident and things like this happen all the time, yeah, maybe like him breaking a finger or something like that, but don't crush it. the whole damn hand, but the reality about who Brandon is, which has been kept a secret from him all this time, surfaces that night, drawn back to the barn by the voices, he begins to decode what they say in English, what becomes Take the World is sinister enough for you to rip the chains off the trap door hiding your ship.
Tory finds him levitating in the air, the ship glowing beneath him again trying to approach calmly, he loses concentration plummeting down the shaft and on the way down cutting. his hand on the edge of the ship his first injury that they have seen him show in 12 years just like Superman the only thing that can hurt him is the kryptonite from his own planet the same with Brandon here his ship is also from his The planet is the only one that can hurt him and she was forced to reveal his origins explaining that he fell from the sky, but that doesn't mean to her that he isn't her son and that she and Kyle truly love him believing.
He considers it a miracle from God, but he's not having it, launching into a tirade about being lied to and feeling betrayed as he walks away in his anger, screaming and lasers shooting from his eyes, a twisted twist on vision itself. of Superman's heat and is at this point of revealing to Brandon where he comes from, the boy is no longer completely dominated by his evil alien side, losing the rest of his humanity in the process, something that was never really there in the first place. , although he is still consumed by his infatuation with Caitlyn making his visit home holding some flowers for her oh isn't that sweet he tries to encourage her not to be afraid by explaining to her that he now understands that he is special but that she is not interested saying that her mother told him to never talk to him again and Brandon says: Oh, in that case, I'll take care of that little problem before suddenly disappearing and showing up at the restaurant where Erika works in the middle of the store closing, suddenly the lights They flash when the lights come back on and I see the same BB.
The symbol Brandon was drawing earlier is scrawled on all the windows of the restaurant, they break along with the ceiling lights, the piece is cutting into Erica's face and one falls directly into her eye, which she is forced to remove with great pain. At one point, it was horrible in many ways. it just gets into people's eyes and movies without having to take the damn thing out, a figure quickly flies across her room s

her back to hide in the freezer, which doesn't do much good. Brandon makes quick work of it with his laser eyes cutting through the door.
Clean in half and descending on Erica, don't we assume that Idli kills her when the police investigate the scene the next morning? There is no sign of a body, however, the sheriff discovers traces of the Beebe logo on the window that appears to be Brandon's signature. It is also synonymous with serial killers leaving an indicator of their actions and after the hand-smashing incident, Brandon was ordered to attend counseling sessions at school with Marilee's sister Tori, who mostly approves of a inability at his job, she tries to get him to show some kind of remorse. or understanding about his actions, but Brandon is accommodating.
I'm not willing to give much of any kind of answer other than admitting that he's glad Tori and Kyle aren't his parents, since he's not the spawn of a remote couple but, in fact, of one being superior, I'd say. an answer like this would warrant some follow-up questions, but she doesn't seem to believe it, even if she thinks maybe this kid is crazy or whatever, that would be the kind of answer you'd want. to ask more about oh, you think you're a higher being, which makes you think that, oh, well, and after asking like three more questions and spending maybe five minutes with the kid, she gives up and explains that without him giving her anything to show her progress, Marilee will do it. has to inform the police about the results or lack thereof of his session, this of course is not what Brandon wants to hear threatening, he heard that it would be good if anyone told them about this and it is obvious that anyone who gets in his way way or show that they are against him, they will be killed.
That night, discussing things with his friends, including Marley's husband Noah, everything that happened made Kyle start to question the boy and begin to wonder if maybe he is really evil and offers to give Noah a Come Home while they've been drinking, which he rejects, is a bad idea since it turns out he also drinks and drives, but you also have to watch out for super people from outer space. Brendan happily surprises her at her house, but before he has the chance to kill her, Noah arrives. At home, he finds Brandon with his suit hidden in the closet, upset, and drags the boy outside to take him home.
Brandon begs him not to tell his parents, but Noah says he will only do it if he's lucky, condemning him to die on the next pitch. When he finds him against the garage, the boy disappears and Noah, for some reason, gets into his car and starts driving somewhere. This is a really strange choice, not only because he doesn't know where Brandon currently is, but because he leaves her wife defenseless and alone in her house fighting for her and not for him.It turns out that Brandon attacked the car breaking the windows and leaving it unable to run, he didn't lift the car into the air crashing it face first into the ground, the impact causing Noah's jaw. him to crash into the steering wheel, ripping it almost completely from his face.
Good score here, horribly disgusting, so good, still alive somehow. Brandon stands there watching for a moment to appreciate what he's done before approaching the dying Noah and taking a finger to collect some of his blood. drawing his BB symbol on the pavement before leaving and returning home shirtless after being missing for hours to worried Kyle and Tory, he gives them a lame excuse that he had been playing soccer and been bullied by some kids who ripped his shirt off. . Dumb Tory buys it, but Kyle doesn't. I'm not so sure, yeah, I don't think so, boy, you weren't playing soccer because you don't have any friends.
Nice try, buddy, and it's clear that Kyle is starting to doubt his son a lot and he has a great time that night. nightmare sequence retelling the first night they found Brandon the door to his room leading outside to a forest there he finds Tory in the fresh seal and his spaceship clutching the baby as a black liquid fills her mouth and eyes The baby's eyes turn white and glow red and then dart towards him, seeming to indicate that it was actually her desperation for a boy that led to this whole adopting her baby face thing in the first place, as if she find him and say, hey, we're going to adopt this baby and he says okay, I guess so.
Are you sure of this? Well, let's see how he goes. He didn't turn out well. They were welcomed to a phone call from Marilee at the hospital, who tells him what happened to Noah and mentions that Brandon had been at her house before her. Kyle is here again. finally starting to put the pieces together here thinking it must have been his son who killed him even though Tory still insists otherwise, Kyle remembers that strange shirtless incident and thinks Brandon must have been hiding it for some reason, finding it stuck behind of a comfortable and covered. in sinister blood stains and guess what is still blinded by her motherly love Tory rises from the blood stained shirt saying it could be any number of things, not specifically blood, I mean that's crazy right, it must be like chocolate or something, realizing that he will never understand it.
What is becoming a substantial problem, Kyle instead uses a different strategy with her wife, convincing her that she really loves him and that she will take the boy camping; Hopefully, she'll fix her relationship even though she'll obviously try and it'll be useless. After they go on their trip, the sheriff shows up with a concrete connection between the murders showing Tory that the BB symbols left on both of them and he finally understands after all this time having the truth in his face and everything that is a little difficult to understand. At that point I deny it, I guess she takes the sheriff's face off, even though she doesn't recognize the symbols, but she quickly goes back upstairs where Brandon keeps his sketchbook inside and sees the exact same symbol she saw him draw earlier along with some drawings. colors that illustrate both. murders take over the world scribbled repeatedly on every page after seeing this he finally realizes oh I've been protecting an evil alien monster this whole time and he's not normal at all he's here to kill us all that's embarrassing , meanwhile deep in the forest.
On his hunting trip, Brandon comes across a pair of deer tracks that he goes down to look at in detail and Kyle takes the opportunity to shoot directly at the back of Brandon's skull, but the bullet ricochets, as expected, and It doesn't have any impact on him, but it does. an emotional impact now knowing that his supposed dad is not really on his side as well as the others who turned against him disappearing while Kyle tries to recharge Brandon again with his costume flies and appeared Kiyo weakly tries to apologize but he has already done the intentions of him. clear and marked unleashes his laser eyes on his face, burning a hole in his head, understandably worried about Kyle at the farm.
Tori calls him repeatedly and gets no answer until Brandon answers the phone and asks where Kyle is. She simply replies that he is gone. and who returns home upon seeing that he is floating just outside the farm, quickly flies through the house making holes in the wall every time Tori calls 9-1-1 as he continues his destruction crumbling the house into pieces, the sheriff and deputy arrived at the scene. shortly after she runs off to meet them, but before she can even talk to them, Brandon runs at the sheriff out of nowhere, flying towards him, tearing his body apart in a bloody explosion in an instant, the deputy does a bit. longer, she is searching the house for the boy and he surprises her by appearing in front of her and then behind her grabbing her, tearing her apart and slamming her against the walls repeatedly and tells her to throw his body away Tori does her best to contain the screams by hiding under the bed while Brandon stalks the house for her. once he leaves she escapes to the upstairs window and running towards the barn grabs a fragment of the spaceship which comes out with surprising ease calling Brandon now if you ask me I would have just waited in the ship, do you know which? something that could maybe hurt him like hiding inside him or something and coming out, yeah I got you, but so far he's proven that he's not always capable of making the wisest decisions and I ruined my chair.
I hope you appreciated that little performance art now that Brandon returns. her and like before she opens her heart to him promising him that she still loves him and removing his hood and hugging him while she raises the fragment prepared to stab him and he stops her by grabbing your hand and now knowing that she like everyone else is actually against him he flies high in the air grabbing his mother exchanging one last look he lets her fall to the ground to her death falling helplessly from the extreme heights while Lights crowns the cloud near him that of a passenger plane that is coming straight towards him without worries about his indestructible body through the screen fading to black and then witnessing the aftermath of a crash, as the next day the wreckage of the plane is shown scattered all over the ground, his farm completely destroyed by the plane that crashed into it and conveniently covered up the death of his parents. the process along with no Mr. driver among the more than 200 passengers on the plane, hell, Brandon sitting in the back of the ambulance, chewing a cookie with an innocent look, somehow after all this he is able to escape from anyone that he discovers his murderous personality and this is just the beginning of his wave of destruction after the death of his parents and going on to kill more people, as we see several clandestine recordings of other similar cases of him doing it in the area, all part of a conspiracy theorist show run by the crazed people who played the big t. by a James Gunn regular Michael Rooker who believes each of these acts of destruction were caused by the same person he refers to as Bright Burn and also works with BB as his initials so I guess he's Bright now Bright, that sounds better than Brandon.
Anyway, the big t also surprisingly reveals that Brandon isn't the only super being on the planet to specifically reference half-fish, half-man, most likely a reference to Aquaman and a supposed witch who's been killing people with her chains. I don't know what the hell it's a reference to maybe Wonder Woman, but a witch woman I don't know, showing us that there are potentially a lot of other beings like Brandon out there and that's not a good thing according to him, the big one screaming and spitting then . If we don't stop them now that our entire planet is doomed, but they all seem to be villains, then are there heroes out there?
Among the on-screen photos of possible super beings is another familiar face: Crimson Bolt. He doesn't have superpowers at all, just a mere mortal, so you probably wouldn't stand a chance against Brandon if the time came, but it was still cool to see him mentioned among the others here and opens up the possibility of a battle royale. powerful heroes who could go toe to toe with Brandon and others like him which really opens up the world story wise for a possible sequel or continuation which I would really like to see, sounds interesting although there is one important aspect of the film that is left extremely underdeveloped, almost feeling like he was completely forgotten at one point, it doesn't involve Brandon's crush on Kaitlyn, even after he turns completely evil he still seems to harbor some sort of romantic feelings for her in a childish sense. bring her the flowers and then kill her mother, who didn't want them to talk, the problem is that after doing it, Kaitlyn never heard from her or mentioned her again, it's like, why did she kill her mother if there is no reward in any of these scenes?
It seemed like she wanted them to be together, so she definitely feels like a big loose end in the final product. Apparently at some point in the script there was an idea for her to appear at the end and be given a robotic hand, implying that she would be searching. get revenge on Brandon after what happened, but this still misses the seemingly most important point of the entire story which relates to why Brandon is here on earth, which I believe is mentioned in an earlier classroom scene now if you have been watching my videos for a while.
While you know that if there is a class scene in a movie, even if it is presented in a metaphor, it always relates to the story in some way. The class is discussing the difference between wasps and bees, both of which use hives, and Brandon mentions a particular type. of predatory wasps cannot create their own hives, so they attack others and take over their already pre-built hives. This must also be the case with Brandon's interstellar species, he looks human on the outside and must have been sent to Earth to not only destroy everything, like the wasps, the hive, in this case our planet, but also help propagate her species, which is where Caitlyn takes into account that she definitely could have killed her when she appeared in a room for the second time, but decided not to.
I do it for a reason and it seems to me that he has future plans to reproduce and spread his species since they could mix just like he did all these years, but you know, since they are both 12 years old right now, I can see for that they didn't even go there with a story, although it seems from everything presented, this must be the reason behind their clumsy crush, otherwise what could be the point of any of those scenes? There's enough that he feels underdeveloped. even beyond these main plot points and maybe if there is a sequel, they can use all those things we don't know to help develop a lot of these questions, but since the movie didn't do as well financially or critically, this unsatisfying conclusion with only a hint of what's at stake and I never realized that's probably all we'll get.
I still liked the movie for what it set out to do, even though it's very limited, but ultimately it could have been much more interesting and unique. places than what it did beyond just working on the surface level of a horror movie featuring an evil being with superpowers, but hey, it was still fun and had good blood and kills, and that alone isn't worth the shame for me.
