May 31, 2021
room so it can be connected and that was done, yes it was very smart to put it up and paint it in advance, yes just a simple mechanical room but it's nice and Man, clean, simple and beautiful

building

, we have something else to see so we have one more and it kind of gets you to where the

post

frame is still the key component, you know, but it's so residential like everything is going to be okay, let's go there. okay check out the next one kyle the last stop on the rr

building

gmc train here yeah you know what this is actually still going to be a

post

frame style mat but it's a 100 residence it has some unique features really interesting ones that don't usually go together with a publishing framework, so if you want to take a look at it, I'll show you.

I like it, so this is the fourth. This video is getting long, but thanks for being with us. It is fun. We saw it. just a summary we quickly saw the skeleton of that job was going to be a real workshop space suitable for that farmer and then we moved on to a really cool hybrid job, I would call it yeah, but I love seeing the spray foam and understanding how the building it worked and I could start to see how it could be residential and then the last job we came from felt like residential except there were no bedrooms it was more like a big party bar, room for party buses but this is a real house . real houseokay come on man I can't wait to see it yeah now you're going to want to see everything or just the mechanical reason.

More Interesting Facts About,

biggest building lowest cost post framing with rr buildings...

No, we can always start in the engine room. I'm sure it's my favorite. I know. I know. well we'll go into the garage, I like this cabin domain, right, this is a nice garage, yes, I really like it, yes, lots of storage space. Nine foot doors, those look huge, yeah, that's right, so these are, I think they're ten by nine or nine by nine and that was maybe for a future RV, my mom and dad wanted to get one. camper building a small travel trailer in Poland again Kyle I love the metal roof uh white it just brightens up the space it seems like the right choice and this Isn't that drywall I'm looking at here lower than eight or nine feet?
biggest building lowest cost post framing with rr buildings
No, no, this is it. This is one of the spots that I wouldn't say standard, but we'll probably do this on three of the four different

buildings

we'll do. a three quarter bcx so this is a sanded plywood and the guys like the ability to hang things everywhere it's durable it cleans well that's awesome man yeah and I also like seeing your dehumidifier here, yes, that was the garage, nice and yes, it smells. Well, there's no extra moisture here, it keeps it nice and dry. Well, we're in the Midwest. We have that snow on your vehicles.

You get here. The water goes down the drain, but there is still all that moisture. So quarter, yes. getting rid of that extra moisture in the air makes it much nicer let's look at the house yeah let's do it Kyle this looks like a normal house I love it it looks fantastic I mean it's a normal house the only real difference is that the skeleton, the interior bones of the exterior walls are post-frame, I guess that's true and this is a really cool detail, that dome that brings that light right to the center of the house, yeah, I love it, I don't know if You could call it a dome. that size is, you know, it's a monster, whatever it is, the story windows are clear up there, yeah, yeah, the goal was just to make this space open, uh, and the post frame lends itself to that because our lack of load-bearing walls in the middle is like all you have.
Look, here it was built after the frame was up, that's right, all these walls that I'm looking at, these bedroom spaces are not exactly load-bearing houses, so they could easily be remodeled, changed and, like I said, everything can be did after the building was built. dry, we didn't have to have anything, so it gives us a lot of turnover time to quickly get to a point where everything is dry and the guys can start doing mechanics in the basement, which is yeah, basement, yeah, we have a basement in this post frame you actually have a basement under our concrete slab here, so we're standing on a concrete slab that has radiant heat, but we also have a basement and that was because we have tornadoes and stuff, and so on. with a residence. we wanted to make sure we still had a basement.
I would love to see the basement boy. I knew you would do it. That's where the mechanics are. Come on, okay, Matt, this is the basement and this is where you can probably see the most excitement. this nice setup, Kyle, look at that nice lochenvar boiler that's a really nice piece of equipment, that's where propane comes in, so this is all natural gas, okay, yeah, and then boy, your plumber did a good job on this copper, You know, people have called me. anal builder matt, this guy was very anal, which I can appreciate, everything was very well done, I really like it now it's this radiant, you said radiant heat above, but I'm looking at plywood, have you heard of warm board?
Yes, this is the warm board. Yeah, that's an inch and an eighth warm board of plywood and it has that aluminum surface, yeah, so it radiates that very nice heat and keeps it from getting lost again, there's a wood floor on top of that, yeah, and then we. I have a floating hardwood floor, how did your parents install it? How many years ago, it's probably been three years and they like the warm board. It works very well for them. Yes, it radiates that heat very well, very cool, I mean the building in general. it is super efficient compared to any house they have lived in yes it is new yes i will say this is not spray foam so it has a r19 fiberglass wall.
Okay, we sprayed foam all over the dome area and that was because we didn't have a lot of

framing

depth to get a really good r-value, we didn't think our 11 bats would be good enough, so we put three inches up there, but the rest is all fiberglass which is crazy so that's a post. frame building, yes, but we have a standard mechanical room in the basement, yes, I mean, it seems to me like this is a normal house, you can do anything with the pole structure, it's really impressive, Kyle, I have to say the tour today to see these four projects from uh. the bones to the basement uh what a fun tour you're doing a great job man well I appreciate you I'm glad you came on the tour and you know what I'm very impressed with how efficient. and honestly how profitable this style of construction is, I don't understand why more people aren't doing well.
I think it's becoming more and more popular because, like I said, I think before probably 70 to 80 of all calls were to do this. people want this because it's

cost

effective and they can get the square footage they want for the price they want. This is absolutely 100 different than the barn post I think I said or what I said, full barn at the beginning of the video. this is a post frame that is super versatile man super super good job Kyle you and Greg are building some great houses some great tents a great value and lastly super efficient super well insulated and not I'm sure if you've flown it or tried it, but I bet you'd score pretty good with a house like this too, maybe a future video, yeah guys, if you're not already following Kyle on Instagram, posting some stories great of his works throughout the day and at least one of The

Kyle was an afterthought, but the conversation after the video ended I felt like we had to record, yeah, tell me about the drywall in this house and I know you've heard on your channel people say, oh, those buildings are going away. to move and shake, and yes, you would change, you probably would. crack drywall what is going on with your experience in this house well yes that is the number one comment I get your building is moving it will blow away with the first wind storm because it is atypical of what they are used to correcting this building here.
It is now three years old and we frame all the exterior walls the same way we always do with two feet on the center wall studs running horizontally, yes just like we saw exactly at the beginning and this has no cracks in the drywall . I always check and always ask if you've found any cracks in the drywall because obviously I want to make sure we're doing it right. I want to make sure that we are going to build and deliver. You know what we promise and after three years without drywall cracks, I can't. I don't say that traditional two-for-wood thing all the time because there's so much wood in a house that it has so much movement potential, you know, yeah, damn Kyle, I knew everyone needed to hear that's awesome. man, yeah, well built buildings, man, very fun day, see you guys.
