I received the ticket from the officer. I was pulled over on May 21 of this year while driving my 2016 Lamborghini Huracan. Yes, the officer sure did come to my window. I asked him why he stopped me. He says I ran a stop sign, which I didn't tell him I ran a stop sign, obviously he asked me for my driver's license and I always give my registration to him, excuse me, why would that be your business? Just hanging out where are California businesses after the review? of my driver's license he asks me where it says my California driver's license I told them I don't need a California driver's license he says yes I don't live here I give them a Canadian verse that says exactly what I'm trying to understand You're telling me giving smaller answers but I'm trying to get to the bottom of something.
It's not a smart answer. I don't know, you're like it's not customary. I don't need to explain to you why. I'm here, hey, you know, anyway, you can watch the video. He gives me a ticket and fines for not having a valid California driver's license, so they know I'm Canadian. I have a valid Canadian driver's license and that is completely legal. anywhere in the United States, just so you know this for all my fellow Canadians, as long as you don't have any outstanding traffic tickets that are unpaid and overdue, because then you will probably be banned in whatever state you received them in . traffic ticket and if it is prohibited in one state it is actually prohibited in all states so you may have a valid Canadian driver's license because your license may be valid in your home country here in Canada but in the United States In the United States you can be banned from driving even with a valid license, so that's all you need to know.
However, in this circumstance, I have none of that. I only have one valid driver's license and no outstanding tickets anywhere in the United States. Well, guys. I know, but I want to add that at the end of this traffic ticket officer follows him after he hands it to me, I need to leave the area because my car is subject to towing, so with that being said, your car, the car. is subject Oh, why? Because you are driving with a license in California. I can do that, you can't, yeah, I can't have a Canadian driver's license. It's not illegal to drive here with that.
Okay, that's what I'm telling you, so my suggestion to you is that I'm not going to tow your car. I'll have you know that car sucked, oh okay, with that being said, I suggest you probably go and park your car somewhere I'm not driving and I said, excuse me. and he said yes, because you're driving, you're not driving with a valid license, your car is subject to towing, so because I had a valid license, but he felt like for some reason he felt strongly that he had to have one. California driver's license, either he didn't know or it was some kind of harassment.
Don't know. I honestly don't know. I felt threatened. I didn't really feel safe in that situation. I felt like I didn't really know. I understand what was going on, he didn't know I was allowed to drive and now he's threatening to leave the Beverly Hills area when I just got in to go to dinner with my friends and I, you know, didn't. I don't like this situation, so I know my rights. I knew that rather than argue with him about the ticket, he wouldn't take it back and rather than go up and park my car for the rest of the night, I was going to leave the area.
I went in and I went to the police department in Beverly Hills because it was actually probably only four or five blocks from where I was pulled over and I was going to file a report and here's why I did it, so they know I filed. a formal complaint so that I would have everything documented while it was fresh in my mind because obviously I was going to have to fight this ticket because it was not legal, but also I felt at that moment that I was not only having these illegal tickets, but also

intimidation

tactics

to for me to leave the area and not drive my car there, being taken advantage of by this illegal thing, so I just wanted a formal complaint to be filed so they could educate the officer;
I had it all recorded while it was fresh in my mind and three I had some evidence to use at a later date to fight the ticket if I had to fight it in court or hire a lawyer. I don't know now this is what happened. I have not received any phone call or letter regarding this. to the complaint, however, in a very strange set of circumstances, I'm in Beverly Hills with my friends and we end up in this situation where one of my friends is having a confrontational moment with a third party and the police get involved, for example. what police officers intervene.
I called three officers who showed up at the scene, this is two blocks from Rodeo Drive and we were standing on the sidewalk and one of the three officers is the officer who wrote me this ticket, he spoke awkwardly for about an hour of conversation between my friend. and this third party and the police are basically trying to mediate on the sidewalk, it's becoming pretty obvious that I don't need to stand there and try to help solve other people's problem and they don't need three officers, so I told the Officer Peña, who wrote me my ticket, would you be willing to step aside and just talk to me one on one off camera?
Of course, he already knows what happened and he said yes, absolutely. The first thing I do is say, "You know," I just want you to know that my intention was never for any similar harm to come to you online or how that was said about you. I really just wanted to defend my rights and for you to learn. that Canadians can drive with Canadian driver's licenses, so in a way I was trying to apologize for a lot of the media that people say on the Internet, people say bad things, I'm used to it, people say bad things on the Internet. comments on my videos, all the time I have a thick skin, it just comes with the territory, but I didn't know if he felt the same or if he felt like that video was attached to me and those bad things were somehow, you know, indirectly linked to me.
I just wanted to set the record straight, I guess in a way, so I tell him these things and I say, you know, I'm sorry that some really bad things were said online in the comments, it's the internet and it comes with that territory. I want him to do it too. I know I had a huge, deep respect for law enforcement and what they go through and the horrible, crazy things that they deal with every day and I just film every traffic stop because it's my right and B because I'm a vlogger. automotive, to be honest, people like you like to watch traffic stops, let's face it, we all like a good cop video, even if it's not completely crazy, it works for the channel too.
I just didn't realize this one was going to work. work as well as it did and I told him honestly I don't know what's going on with the fine or the complaint I don't know if you know anything and he said yes I actually wanted to let you know that the charges are what called them here, the charges have been dropped, so all charges, so apparently this ticket is done and taken care of. He told me that verbally I don't have anything in writing and this is where I feel like it's a little strange. Know? he just tells me this and it's not like we were on a date or he contacted me.
I just ran into him in this other situation on the side of the road at almost 3am. m. in the morning and apparently the fines went away, but I feel like you know, on some level I feel like you know that he shouldn't just take his word for it. I need to follow up to make sure he really is gone and number 2, you didn't have any updates on the complaint, right? I mean, I filed this whole complaint and Nobody has contacted me about it or anything like that, so here I am standing on the side of the road in Beverly Hills talking to this officer, we have a great conversation, it's very common, you know, to talk like a couple of guys and he even says, Key word says you seem like a really reasonable guy, you know, I guess you know these are just the circumstances of that situation or what they are and here we are today, let's move on and I agreed with He, you know, hey, man.
When I see it, I want to just say, "You know," "Hey, what's up?" and I've done it a few times while I've been in Beverly Hills since then, so that's the ticket update, apparently it's gone. I need to follow up. and make 100% sure that I have some, I guess, tangible proof that it is, but I take their word for it and I don't know what's going on as far as the complaint goes, no one called me all I really wanted out of this, like said. It was to have it documented and also to assert my rights and simply say: you know no, no, they are simply not going to pressure me when I know that they are imposing something on me that is not the case.
It's not right, I'm going to enforce what I can the right way with that person and that's why I filed that complaint, however, I don't know if he did anything. I don't know if what I should say is that I don't know if this did anything. I feel like the video definitely did all the work for me. What is my advice? I would give it to people who drive in the United States or Canada or anywhere. I think if you get pulled over, you should film the traffic. stop registering your phone and make sure it is legal in any country.
I'm not. I don't assume it's illegal everywhere, but it's definitely illegal in Canada, it's definitely illegal in the United States. Film your traffic stop so that if something happens something goes wrong you have the evidence if you feel that police misconduct has occurred you may have the right to file a complaint it takes a little time but you have to do it thanks for watching smash it the subscribe button guys when I get more updates on this I will let you know that Monterey Car Week is coming up.
