Let's move on to the comparison, so I wanted to record this video because I get asked a lot of questions. Sean, which camera should I buy? What is really the difference and I wanted to dive into these three models specifically? Now one thing to mention is that all three are solid cameras and have different strengths and weaknesses. It's important to note that the Canon SL 2 at the time of shooting this video is $599 here in the US Also known as the 200d internationally and that's with the kit lens the t 7i is the 800d a international level and it's seven hundred and ninety nine dollars then $200 more and then the deep 80 comes in at the time of shooting this video at one thousand and forty nine dollars with the same lens kit that's on the other cameras and of course check out the current pricing in the youtube description below but there's definitely a price gap here so now let's break down these similarities and differences so the first thing to note is that all three cameras actually have the Same sensor, it's a 24 point 2 megapixel aps-c sensor and that pretty much means that depending on some of the other factors, you can get more or less the same video and photo quality out of each of these, without em However, there are some differences and we will get into those where you also have a folding screen all the time. ee each of these are great for youtube content whether you want to vlog or just want to be filming in a home office or bedroom anywhere being able to see yourself touch the screen to auto focus all that kind of awesome stuff on Also all three have Wi-Fi NFC and Bluetooth so if you want to take pictures or camera pictures when you're on the go post them to social media you can do that on all three and they all have dual pixel autofocus which is a big deal because back in the day autofocus was so good at tracking faces especially in video mode one of the most popular features that helps

canon

stand out is the fact that the autofocus is so amazing and one of the awesome things though is they put dual pixel autofocus on the SL 2 so for it being a budget camera it's really paired with Like the others in that sense, now speaking of video, these cameras actually have a lot in common, one of which is all of them.

More Interesting Facts About,

Records 60 frames per second in video mode which means you can do 50% slow motion if you edit your footage at 30 frames per second and even slower than that if you edit at 24 frames per second and they also all have video modes time lapse so this is something that youtubers and vloggers of course love because you can set up the camera, tweak the settings a little bit and then create a beautiful time lapse well those were some of these similarities that all three cameras have in common but now let's move on to some of the differences now the Canon SL 2 and T 7i are actually very similar and we won't go too deep into that because I shot a whole video comparing those two so we'll link it on YouTube card as well as in the description below but one of the big differences we started to notice between these two and the Canon a TD is actually the battery so these two actually have the e 17 battery and the adb features the e 6 battery which is what the Canon uses in th Their line is more Pro and you get about 60% more battery life with the Canon a DD.

Now, one of the strengths that the t7 I and a DD have in common is that they both have 45 autofocus points, so they're both great. Still cameras too now the SL 2 can take great photos it has the same sensor but it only has 9 auto focus points so it won't be as good for wildlife for soccer games for motion but if you want track your subject and really make sure you dial in that amazing shot these two are going to be much stronger and speaking of photography the t7 I in the 80 depth definitely has some advantages while they have different and higher performing metering modes they also have those autofocus points and as we look at how many frames of photography these cameras can shoot per second so the sl2 is 5 frames per second the t7 is at 6 frames and the Canon a DD is at 7 frames So why is the Canon a DD$450 plus? expensive than the SL 2 and $250 more expensive than the eye t7 well there are a few things and mostly when it comes to build quality one of the things you get with the canon 80 deep is a weather sealed body , you also get a much beefier build quality which actually could be something that is a downside if you want to use the camera for vlogging and charging a lot you might not want the little bit of extra weight that comes with the ATD but the quality The build doesn't stop there, the Canon a TD also has this top screen visible here, something you could definitely live without if you're just shooting YouTube videos, but it's a nice feature so you don't always have to go down and look at your screen for your setup but you can just look at them when you need to do some tweaking and if you're using this for professional photography or whatever having things like that and an off button a lot more functionality with the di ales and wheels this is meant to be put to work in a professional video or pro photography and definitely has some outstanding video features too now all three cameras have a mic in jack but the AVD also adds a jack for headphones which is a great feature and it also has a higher or less compressed video format when it comes to shooting video so the first two do 60 frames and they all do what Canon calls IPB footage but they have a version less compressed into a DD called all I so again a DD is more of a professional video if you want to use it for video production and even professional photography camera type but I would say these two are more aimed at consumers but prosumers too, maybe you want to save some money but still create great content, then that's where the t -7s l live, while a DD will definitely vamente is aiming for future advancement maybe even if you started with it its something you could take with you and scale up as you learn more advanced skills and techniques with pics and videos now one quick k note to mention about the a DD is that because it's a bit older camera it actually has the digit 6 plus processor whereas the t7 I and SL 2 have the digit 7 processor now the processor can influence things like how fast the camera runs but over All of which can influence ISO performance and potentially low-light performance.

I don't even think this is something to consider too much though because I don't see much of a difference in the end product of the photo or videos that come out of either camera but just something to put on your radar ok so now let's move on to some video examples from each of these cameras now here think multimedia video is definitely our priority there are a lot of great youtube channels that would focus more on photo performance for us we use photography for social media but these cameras we mainly chose for youtube content to create video content and that's what we'll be talking about rather so for this first time a series of examples we're going to do the vlog test so what would it look like if you were vlogging with each of these cameras? cameras so let's take a look ok test number one is with the canon sl 2 now all of these tests are going to be done with the same settings so we're at iso 100 125 shutter speed because this is 60 frames per second of video and then 5.6 on the aperture just using the kit lens and testing this for vlogging so this is the SL what do you think?
You are now looking at the canon t7. Now both the SL 2 and the t7. I have similar weights, they weigh almost exactly the same. they're good for vlogging we're just holding it here and what I like about the kit lens we're shooting all these videos on is that it has image stabilization built in so as long as there's movement because we're walking around it it smooths out the edges it doesn't there are fluctuations and i love these canon cameras too because due to dual pixel autofocus it tracks our faces well for vlogging on the go and finally we have canon to td vlog test now again the video quality between these cameras is quite similar because it is the same sensor and we are using the same ipb mode. what all cameras have in common now the ATD has a higher video quality mode for pro video but just for vlogging i will probably shoot on something like this setup here looks pretty good so we just did a video test standard and so here's the SL 2 again the kit lens on all the cameras and this is my wife Sonya walking towards the camera and this is where we can see the power of dual pixel autofocus following her as she walks it's cool so we I tried the Canon T 7i and you probably noticed, but I'd love to hear from you in the comments.
Do these images look quite similar? The video quality is similar to yours. ity and finally the Canon a DD is doing great too so Sonya just walks we're doing dual pixel autofocus they're all touchscreen so all three cameras are definitely video powerhouses and I'd love to know It's up to you what you think comparing the images and then for our final test we wanted to do a couple of shots with that nice blurred background so right now you're looking at the Canon SL 2 and actually we put the 1.8 lens on 50mm now, I really recommend it. this lens because at a hundred and twenty five bucks here in the usa it has amazing image quality for both video and stills so we put it on the t7 eye and again you can see that nice background blur and which is also cool about These cameras are doing pretty well in this mixed light situation, there's a lot of bright light and shadows here, but we can definitely see the detail in each of these scenes and finally we put the 1.8 50mm on the Canon 8. 0 D and again really cool shot that nice blurred background aka the bouquet in this shot looks great so I'd love to hear from you what you think about the differences or similarities in video quality as well which cameras should you choose well.
Let's move on to some of my final thoughts, first and foremost the Canon SL 2 is the obvious winner when it comes to budget as it is the most affordable. It's also a great camera because it's nice and small and portable, so if you want something that's really versatile. that may be the smallest of the three you can get, maybe you use it for vlogging and creating youtube content and it shoots great videos that are even on par with the other cameras in many ways, the SL 2's weakness though it's definitely more advanced photography, autofocus points and the like, so if you were thinking more about I want that middle option I want to shoot video content but I also want photographic performance then the Canon T 7i is a great option similar to The SL 2, shoots great video but packs a lot more features with 45 autofocus points, knows an extra frame per second when shooting in burst mode in a photo, and a few other standout features.
I also think the Canon SL 2 and T 7i are great options for people just getting into photography or video, they each have a beginner mode that you can turn on or off, so if you're just starting out, They are great cameras for learning, but you can also become these. again, they are aimed more at the consumer market, but also at the prosumer market, and each of these is a camera that could become, but of course the ultimate winner when it comes to professional photography and professional video. it is of course the ATD it has the body weatherproof so its meant to be put to work taking on the road it does some recording in the rain it has the headphone jack and not just the mic jack the first two for monitoring your audio and recording video and then it also has many more pro features when it comes to photography and that bit rate bit rate.higher compression for video so if you plan to not just create youtube content maybe of yourself in simple videos but plan to do video production wanted to get into color correction even make short movies and things like that then ad D is the obvious choice the only downside is that it's the most expensive and it's a bit bulkier and a bit heavier than the others so every one of them though in short is great just depends on what you need the most and what is your budget but that brings us to the question of the day and that is your opinion when it comes to Canon SL to t7 I on a DD let me know in the comments section below and remember that some some of the
