Barn Find 1972 Charger 440 Will it START

Feb 27, 2020
Come back to the canal today, we're headed to a storage unit. There is a 72 440 magazine inside. It's been sitting for some time now and what I'm going to do is bring my Jack. I need to go

find

my impact. I think all the tires are flat and I forgot to bring

start

ing fluid, but I also need to grab a can of that because it's been sitting for a long time, so I think

start

ing fluid is a must and we'll see if we can get it. This started if the tires full of air see exactly what we need to do with it, I'm not exactly sure, but I do know it's there, so we're here at the storage unit complex to see this car.

This place contains all this storage, so I wonder what's in all of them. Maybe there are a lot of rare cars. You guys are ready for this, you just removed the lock. You

will

be the first to see this for quite some time. Oh man, that's it. a little difficult to open with one hand hmm, there it is ready to go, there seems to be some. I don't see any mice here. I guess there are some things down there. We'll have to check, but yeah, look. This orange stuff usually isn't bad, guys, so what does it have to do with the tire situation on this hood?

More Interesting Facts About,

barn find 1972 charger 440 will it start...

Needs a little work. I think this tire here is completely flat, of course, it's the one right against the wall that's the only one that has a fake snake on it that scared me, so, yeah, I think the first thing is to try to start this because I have to get it out to be able to take that tire off or maybe I could put the jack on. under it and slide it over it, it's going to be kind of a process, but we'll figure it out, man, these hood pins. I've never liked hood pins. Okay guys, ready for this, not bad, not bad at all, look at that and some oil.

There is an oil or fuel leak, right, they

will

have to look at it. It may be that the fuel has been sitting for some time. I may have just eaten the line, the braided line, but you have to guess that the battery is probably heavily charged. This thing has been, oh, maybe. They took out the battery fuse, that would be awesome, no, there are blown fuses and a long piece here, good fuse, here, where does that fuse go? However, the question is that this should start, but we have to

find

out that what I was able to do was move the

charger

with a jack.

I have it on the jack stand and this thing has been sitting for so long that it peeled the paint off the floor, so these tires are new, I just want to say they are not dry rotted, but I want to say they have definitely been sitting inside for quite a while, so what I'm actually going to do is there's a little bit of dry rot right there. What I'm going to do is fill this tire with air and then I can get this thing rolling. Go grab some starting fluid too and then you can turn this on.
Hopefully, I figured out where that fuse was. The 30mm fuse simply goes here. I put it. I probably need a check to see if there is power in the battery. and then, you know, go from there and see if this thing actually starts, if it doesn't start, I need to grab a jump box or another battery so we can power this thing up and everything, but you know this. The thing is really clean, it's just been painted, but it looks like there's some stuff going on here. We'll see it a little better when we get out and the other tires need some air but they have some air so it'll actually roll so we shouldn't have too much of a problem there and I think it has a fuel tank but there's a spare fuel tank right there, so not exactly sure, hopefully it has fuel, hopefully it's not bad gas.
I guess we'll just have to find out that this storage area complex is a little sketchy, it looks like someone broke into that one. I'm going to take the battery out of my Magnum and to know that I have a good battery for the

charger

. The problem I had was that there wasn't enough room to open the door and check if it works, so what I'm going to have to do is put this wheel and this tire on. I just filled it with air. I was going to fill it. I take air at the gas station, there's like a dollar fifty out there, like low pressure air, so I just got to the junkyard, filled up the tire, put air in, now I'm going to take the battery, so once I take out the car I know I have a way to put it back in the storage unit because yes it is heavy I am alone if I took it out and couldn't push it back what would I do?
Let's take out your battery, get back to the truck. Go back to the storage unit and take out this charger so we can take a proper look at it. Now we have a tire on the car, so it is rollable. What I'm going to do now is take out that rack, maybe so I can get into the car without having to push it out so I can turn the crank in case it can't start, it's not taking out the whole rack, I just took out the sections and then the small bars, now I can take it out. in the car and it looks like there's mouse poop right there and I'm not sure if I always hate cars that have been sitting and don't want this, although the paint on the door is peeling off, we don't want it to ruin the bodywork above, I want I mean, it doesn't really look like these mice here, but look how that piece of paper down there is black, so okay, it doesn't smell like mice, let's put the fuse in.
I just need to put the main one. fuse I guess that's what it is to see if the battery is good and then I guess we have the keys, let's see if it starts, it started but it started very slow, so what I'm going to do is throw the battery out of the Magnum. just throw some drums/cables on this and try to start a little faster, it sounds very healthy and all, but I mean, everything looks extremely new, she's a Pearlie, guys, no oil pressure, she's a fuel, that's it well, all tears carry cold temperatures.
This baby is supposed to have 500 horses. She there she is warming up. I need to put the nuts on the front wheel. I only put two because it's a bit of a pain to get that close to the wall if you have to. Hold the steering wheel, but I mean, man, this thing apart from this little one, the painting is like getting up, something must have happened with who knows exactly what happened, but just to listen well, but other than that, I mean, just the doors really look beat up the rest of the The paint on the rest of the car looks very very good so this is a good storage unit.
Find right there that it's warm enough that it's built for 40, it sounds really healthy and everything, so I'll pretty much pick this thing up and put it on. The rest of those lug nuts on have it one hundred percent ready to go and yeah the tires actually those tires look a lot lower on the inside once the tire was on it looks like it leveled out the front tire probably needs a little air. might follow me a little bit by looking around the car more, it looks like the paint has lifted here too which is a really nice paint job, really very straight, just has a lot of spots where the paint is lifting so I guess It will probably need to be repainted, oh you know, it probably just needs to go back to the same orange color.
I mean, it looks very, very good and everything underneath is like new. It doesn't even look like it's a Vette. It has the interior. fender liners flange line and I mean yeah new brakes it looks like everything looks like a new idea open the trunk see if there are any mice in there because there was mouse poop and it looks like there is some ice right there it looks like they are eating something, they're afraid of this thing here, but yeah, let's look in the truck. Also I didn't think it would fit here but these racing seats are very tight but once you're in them really nice but listen to this listen listen not bad really clean dash has some small cracks , but I mean it's a 72, all of them my HR was much worse, I don't really see any mice back here. but it looks like the rest of the parts on the car/trunk and side panels seem to be coated very well.
The entire interior of the trunk is also painted in the same color. Looks great. Check the tire pressure, this one's at 20. no one has that much 19, so what I'm going to do is drive this thing over a gas station, put some 91 on it and fill all the tires to 35 psi, it needs a little, yeah, it's almost empty, so now I want to say it is. It's very surprising that this thing started as well as it did. It's such a clean car. Okay, we took the first trip. I definitely need one. You know, the seat is too close.
It's like you're there if I. I've ever been in an accident I'd probably hit my head on the windshield so yeah let's put some gas in here this is a girls vacuum empty the air machine ended up trapping me I had to come here it cost like three dollars but now the tires are full to 35 psi so we should be ready to do a little cruise which yeah it was getting a little tricky and I just drove like maybe a mile and a half it looked like it was 10 bucks worth of fuel there and they got me almost a tank , so now I'm going to go drive a little bit and probably look at the brakes, they feel a little like they're not working and you should probably check the master before you start, maybe I will. that first I want to say that she is a little noisy oh yes, I am old cars, although let's check the brake fluid, it looks a little dirty but it is full, so it looks much better also with the tires when they have some air and are It drives a lot better so I think what I'm going to do is take it up and down the block really fast, it doesn't feel that fast, it's supposed to be like five hundred, it's a fully built 440 and it's supposed to be like 500 horsepower I think, but the Magnums under 500 are like 480 something or 490 something, whatever, it's just that the newer technology makes it feel a lot faster, these older ones have carburetors and the most new is that he can't overcome it, but yes. the engines are nice, it drives well, it idles well, I mean it's a really good find, I mean it's been sitting for a while but it didn't take long to get started and go from there so let's take it. for a small cruise make sure we don't get hit by any crazy drivers, nothing drives right, it's a tunnel, if we do the Hellcat thing it sounds like it's breaking down a bit and the fry just need to be cleaned, the jets are probably a little dirty but Manji takes cruises through battery charges since he was shipped for so long yeah but I guess I'll turn around here and take her back and they'll want to give her a ride too far yeah it just feels like. like it needs a pre-read or something, it's just a little, it just sounds like it needs something else, it just sounds like it's getting too much fuel or you can't tell, but these old cars, I mean, it's hard to tell because you have every problem where you don't have broadband, I mean the Hellcat has a built in light pin so I can show it off, look at my bars, done, so I mean some old cars are cool, this thing is actually a Good fine for what it is, but yes, I need a little work.
The meats probably passed. It was a pretty decent fine, so let's get back on our way and I guess I'll head home after this. I'll do other things. I do some things. with the rear bump said something about the Hellcat after the first ride. I'm actually very very surprised that it didn't move in any strange way, the alignment was very good once the tires were on the right Aaron, it just slid down the road, one thing I noticed is that the system of coolant is not building pressure, it's this cap here, you can hear it blowing, it's just not sealing, so these caps are the cheapest ones or they are a little expensive at the parts store, but they never work. so a proper cap will generate the proper pressure and everything will be fine from there, probably a coolant reservoir would be a good addition to this, but the cap is the main thing other than the car is very clean underneath and looks new, I mean. everything looks new, besides the defects and the paint and how the fenders are aligned and everything, it really needs to be aligned again, it needs to be painted, but other than that it's a really straight car, it drives very well.
Drives straight once I put it on. air in the tires I mean, this is a find. I mean, it's very difficult to find one of these cars in good condition, but at a stage where it doesn't really need much work, it already has an engine built. The transmission is practically rebuilt, the only thing is that the older cars don't feel like the newer car, the Magnum. I mean, you know, 500 horsepower against this, the Magnums will probably win. I mean, maybe if this had been rejected, maybe the Jessie V is cleaned weekly or cleaned, but other than that it's very amazing, so I'll leave this here and then it will make its maiden voyage, maybe sometimes it will be this week .
I just don't want to have to deal with moving it right now, but other than that, I thinkthis is a really clean variant of this body style, but yeah, I'm going to end a video here, if you like these videos, make sure to click the subscribe button, like it, leave a comment below, and like always, look. you next time
