At this point I slept pretty little. night but I am full of energy right now because we are on our way to the airport and I made a big mistake somewhere just before we arrived we decided to check our ticket and we made the mistake that we went to the wrong airport which is basically in the Opposite side of Bangkok so it's good it's still early in the morning, we're in the same taxi now we're on our way to a booming airport.

I guess I've been very busy the last two years. days we both assumed we were going to do without and neither of us even checked our ticket, so now we're on the right track. Luckily, that mistake only cost us about 30 minutes and I'm glad we're catching the early morning flight because if that had happened during rush hour, it could have been a nightmare trying to get to this airport. We checked in for our flight and it went smoothly and we even have some free time so in the end everything worked out. We are flying with Drew Care and are on our way to Bhutan.

I just had a couple of this is tomato juice and now I really like it, but now I like it, but the only time I drink it is on airplanes, yeah, it's like drinking spaghetti sauce. Had to order beef stroganoff for breakfast. Let me try to have some with potatoes and a piece of meat. Beef stroganoff. Beef is a great idea. Well, that's pretty good.

I just landed in Kolkata and unfortunately, as much as I'd like this to be a

food

stop where I go on a

food

rampage, we'll just wait on the plane for about 30-45 minutes and then take off again to Hyrule. We landed in Bhutan at Conville Airport, it was one of the most spectacular commercial aircraft landings I have ever made. We flew through the mountains into a valley and I didn't even know there would be a runway. Impressive sights. From the plane, it was beautiful. We just went through immigration and customs, grabbed our bag and someone was here to pick us up at the airport.
The air is fresh here and I am delighted to be here. In fact, this is one of the most charming countries. and I had really only dreamed of visiting Bhutan before, now we are in the car and heading towards Tin Pool and it should take about an hour or drive to get there. That's me, all the teams have told me the trip took about an hour or so. I think we got there within an hour and we got to the town of Tim Poo, which is the capital and the largest city in Bhutan, but it still has a very small feel and it's not too big, but very laid back, and then we drove to this house that my Bhutan owns so this is where we will stay when we are in rhythm and young and I chose this room, it's a huge room and it's like an old Bhutanese house, kind of a definite permit, it has a cottage feel logs.
We left the house and walked through Tim Poo and now we're passing some kind of tourist craft market and then we're heading to walk through the farmers market. Well, we made it to the farmers market. We walked through a lot of Tim Poo and now it's a lot of vegetables. People come from parts of Bhutan to sell their produce here and yes, lots of fresh and pretty vegetables. We are now walking through the upper section of the local market. I'm enjoying. Seeing these ingredients, I think a lot of families come here from their farms or from their villages all over Bhutan to sell the ingredients and so things are fresh and I also love the piles of dried chillies everywhere and I think I think these are bags of Sichuan pepper, one of my favorite things in the whole world.
There are also some really interesting ingredients in this market. Some things I had never seen before. Look at these things here. They look like limes from the outside but they are oval shaped, it's nut season right now in Bhutan so they are little bags of nuts and I have all the nuts that are calling me right now Jamin, thanks men, Matt just showed me a way

amazing

to open the nuts. using two of them and just squeezing them until it breaks, even though they are so buttery and so fresh and almost have a honey-honey sweetness to them, I take two and just squeeze them tight and then one pops open, I could literally eat them all day.
For a long time this restaurant is called Calden restaurant and the menu here is written at the top of the brochure and then you write your order in the notebook. I love everything about this restaurant. Once you walk in, you feel at home. Someone's house and I love the blue painted walls, the table and I also love these benches that are very comfortable and very warm, covered like wool blankets. I'm starting with a Suja, which is a butter tea. I have already taken it. before in China, but I think it was a little bit different and I can, yeah, you can smell the tea there and let me try it mm-hmm oh, it's a little bit salty and you can taste a little bit of its oiliness and it's also almost charcoaly, we like the smoky flavor, tastes like a campfire, actually, it's kind of like a yogurt drink II and I love how it's in this bottle and they call it now and I just go. to try some of this pour it into a cup it's actually kind of like it could be like butter milk it's not that thick it's almost maybe just a little thicker than regular milk oh that's

amazing

oh i think it tastes like buttermilk Milk is a little bitter and a little thicker than normal milk.
Well, it's us, star. Look, all the food just arrived. Everything looks amazing and we're hungry, so we sit down with Matt to devour a

meal

. All this is very typical of Bhutan. food yes this is called Shama dot C and it's with mushrooms and cheese in a chili and it looks almost like a butter casserole so I'm going to add a little bit of this to my rice ball get some of those that's how Oh no it slipped too much, oh okay, I'll share it with you, it almost looks like a lasagna and then this fried egg with butter, fried egg with butter, it looks like scrambled eggs with chilis, oh, but it's like it's thicker. like sticky or other cheese casserole, but with long beans, it's okay, with long beans, click here, this is another point, see another cheese dip made with spinach, well, this one looks great with chilis and spinach , this is pork ribs. and you can see that it's cooked with a lot of chili and that will add a little bit one of these bones to my bowl or to my plate and then this is the beef jerky, the beef jerky looks like yeah, it looks like jerky, put that in At that point I think the plate end we have is tripe stomach and again fried with the dried chilies and there are some green onions and oh I love how they have like a stem of chili included in these dishes and they fix it and just like the centerpiece, yeah, this

meal

It looks so good I think I'll have to take off my jacket in advance and the sweaty food that might accompany eating a meal like this.
I tried that point C first and I can say that it will be the first time I eat point C mmm it tastes like cheese and chili sauce but with rice and mushrooms, all that is so rich and creamy and hmm, and it had a hint of chili. also and the next thing is that I think this bite includes a mixture of Nazi spinach and C point long bean, which seems good to me, that is also very good, in fact, the flavor is very similar to mushrooms, only with a different base. ingredient is fine, I'll go for that piece of tripe and I might as well eat that whole chili.
Oh, what I tasted right away there is a 6-1 pepper, an earthy citrus component and then that dried chili, it actually looks spicier. It looks spicier than it is, it's not too spicy but it's a good spiciness and again it has that dry chili taste, okay, the scrambled eggs mmm, like scrambled eggs with a lot, a lot of cheese, actually all the dishes are very well seasoned but they have more chili and more chili is always a good idea so let me add a spoonful of this sprinkle a little oh man okay Bhutan is amazing and all the scrambled eggs was my first Bhutanese food and it was excellent thank you very much. everything was very good and what I love is that almost everything is cooked with those dried chilies which are not only spicy but also the taste of those smoked chilies, yes, dried smoked chilies taste delicious.
I'm satisfied, definitely not, definitely not a light meal it's something heavy excellent food. I feel fantastic after that, that was my first meal in Bhutan and my first Bhutanese meal and I was really impressed with how delicious the food was, really good. I loved the chilies. I loved the flavors. I think we are going to eat well during our trip to Bhutan, what is your name? He will simply teach us how to open the nuts. We were walking and we went through a complex and we met some kids, they were very friendly, very nice kids. I can speak English, now we are walking down the main shopping street at a good pace and it is still very calm and very pleasant and it is starting to get cold although the sun has gone down a bit so I can really feel the cold weather approaching , fortunately.
I hope this jacket is warm enough. An interesting fact about Bhutan that Matt just shared with me: there are no traffic lights in all of Bhutan and right behind me, here, on that little circular carousel in the middle of that intersection, there is an I. I think it's a police officer directing traffic and is the only traffic director in all of Bhutan. We have just arrived at the Memorial Chorten, which is to honor the Majesty of the third king of Bhutan and tonight there is a lot of activity, many people are making circumference circles. It is around the monument and we have joined together and we are going to make three circles walking also from the monument, we get in a taxi and now we are back at the house.
Matt gave us a great tour of Tim Poo and was really nice. nice little city or town and we're going to hang out and then go to dinner. This restaurant is called New Grand and it's on the second floor, it's at the end of an alley and then you follow the stairs up and you can immediately smell the aroma of spices coming out the door. This is an Indian restaurant. It is a vegetarian restaurant. We just ordered a lot of dishes. I don't normally drink soft drinks, but they have a Pepsi masala on the menu. You have to order one and try it.
It's a Pepsi that's served in a beer mug and there's a lot of floaters inside and there's almost no, it's like an egg, yeah, it almost has an eye candy aroma. wow, it's almost 10:00 yes, it actually has an eggy taste, it's kind of syrupy, Pepsi has lost its fizz, these days masala and eggs mixed with Pepsi, seriously, I have to say that that one It's not my favorite, it's very interesting. However, and it's not, I think the ammonia II flavor, the eggy flavor comes from the salt that's mixed in, so it's also very salty. The paneer chili dish paneer is the cheese and then there's onions here, there's cilantro. tomatoes and yes, this is a delicious dish, one of my favorite vegetarian dishes.
I think this is the other one, wow B, which is cauliflower in a really beautiful looking curry, okay, and then this dish is some bhaji, which is potatoes, they look, you can. I see a little bit of a golden edge on them with onions and yeah, mostly that and maybe some chilis in there too. Gotta go for that chili paneer for my first bite, wrap it in a bite, oh and I got some extra potatoes. on the one hand it tastes like ricotta cheese and then the sauce is a little sweet and a little spicy so what I really like are those onions that are half cooked and also kind. of caramelized, so it has a little bit of a sweet onion flavor mmm really rich and spooky and then what I like about it is that it has a kind of smoky like charred flavor mmm really good, we go back to the house now that it's been A Excellent first day and a warm welcome to Bhutan.
Many thanks to Matt for showing us around and for all thatDelicious food today, and today was my first day. Bhutanese food, yes, it was sensational. I loved. I didn't know there was so much cheese involved in Bhutanese food and it was delicious. I'm really exhausted right now. I'm very tired, so I'm about to go to sleep. There's a heater on right now, so it should be nice and toasty tonight. Thank you all very much for watching it. If you enjoyed it, remember to give it a thumbs up and leave a comment below and we'll see you tomorrow for the second day in Bhutan.
