Jun 01, 2021
Hey guys Matt Gozman here and there without a video and today will be my November Eagle Scout

status

update

in just two years so I realized I didn't make a video because I was at camp sorry but This is an overview of how my November has gone in my scouting career, so just a quick overview: There are seven Scout ranks, 16 leadership positions, and a minimum of 21 merit badges required for Eagle Scout, the ranks that I have our Scout rank, Tenderfoot rank second class. First class and Star Scout. I am working on Life Scout and Eagle Scout, which means I have five of the seven Scout ranks.

I should get Life Scout mid-January 2020 and then hopefully at the rate I'm going I can get it. Eagle Scout for August or September sometime around there so that's my goal I'm hoping for and that's how I'm planning it so far so not the next

status

update

but the next one I'll most likely be a Scout lifetime, so almost two months, so let's jump right into the leadership positions that I've had now. I've been a quartermaster, den patrol chief, instructor, and senior patrol leader, but like I said before, I actually joined another troop and was hoping to get another leadership position, so I got den chief again, so that's still five of sixteen, so she still counts as a leadership position and that basically means I'm also teaching the younger Cub Scouts to help them with their Scout skills.

More Interesting Facts About,

aspl versus spl november status update...

Now I don't just want to have a leadership position. position that is not directly related to my troop because I want to help in my troop, so I hope that by December when their elections come around, I can be appointed to an SPL, so that whoever is the senior patrol leader will appoint the senior assistant . patrolman, so I hope that by then I will make a good impression as assistant senior patrol leader, especially since I am working for Eagle. I just want to have a job that is not the top leadership role, but something similar, which is What I wanted to choose is assistant senior patrol leader, so these two leaders are the first two in Scouting and there are a difference between them, especially since the senior patrol leader is the highest you can make because they preside over all troop meetings and activities. about 80%, but everyone is supposed to do it, especially with the outings you are supposed to participate in, on all outings you need to delegate your Scouts and assign tasks to people.

Now assigning tasks is something I always had trouble with because I used to like to do everything myself but SPLs are supposed to delegate tasks to Scouts, they also help the Scoutmaster in training youth leaders for future Patrol years , future troop guides, instructors, basically anything that is part of the PLC, can train them and oversees Scout planning efforts for all troop events, so that's the one that gets the most STL, is advance planning for all the troop events, so it's not just like saying oh yeah, we have this place here, we're going to go, you know, you have to plan what you're doing. knowing where to go what time you are doing it why you are going there then there is a lot of background planning involved in SPL and I have done all this before, it is not that difficult it just takes work, however in The SPO helps with meetings and activities of the troop.

They participate in outings, but they don't have to vomit at all of them. The SPO assigns them specific tasks. They attend any troop functions that the SPO won't attend, so they act polite. They are like a backup and help with the planning efforts, but they are not completely responsible, they only act as a support and help, so for now I think a leadership position in an SPO would be very good for me because I have experience. I know what to do if someone assigns me a task, but I don't want most of the tasks assigned to me if that makes sense, so I still want to be useful to a portion of my troop, so that's what My The goal is for election time to arrive in the summer, at least that's what they told me, it's in December and you never know.
Such a basic overview, the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader assists the SPO, they still provide leadership but not as heavy as the SPO which means they have a lighter workload and they set a good example for me when I got SPL for first time. A lot of things happened during that camp; I got SPL, but there was also a new patrol leader, there were new Scouts, so I decided to run things a little differently to how it read before, which meant I could plan things the way I wanted with the consent of the Scoutmaster and also because I was able to plan things efficiently, we were able to do fun activities like archery here, but the thing is being SPO, since it was a new experience for me, it was a little difficult at times just because of the amount of work what I had to do.
I had to plan all the meetings, plan all the outings, make sure the Scouts were moving forward and it's a lot of work and I still want to help out in my new troop. I just don't want to have to do everything so I think SPL would be a good position because I can still lead people with the knowledge I have and I can teach others but I also won't have to do a lot of the work that I had to do before. I'm just an assistant. I'm helping and I think that would be the best option as a good addition to the troop I'm in now, let's enter the Star Scout ranks.
I mentioned that I am a Star Scout and that was completed almost six months ago. I think it's four and a half now, so like I said, by mid-January. You should have Life Scout and that will be the end of the six months talking about Life Scout. I'm 46 percent of the way there and that's in progress. I've mentioned this before, but I've completed most of the requirements at least six. months active as a star scout that I am working on demonstrates scout spirit earning five more merit badges than I had participating in six hours of active duty six months in positions of responsibility that is the leadership position and that is the den chief that I am and I also use a cutting edge method to teach another scout a scouting skill.
Now the six hours have a twist on this one to get life. Explorer, you need six hours, but three of them have to be conservation related, so that's the part that gets me. I can't, it's not that I can't find one, I'm just not looking hard enough to find a conservation service, but I really need to for the next month and a half, so that's where I am now. With the vital scout for Eagle Scout, I am sixty-one percent of the way in progress. Now let's get straight to the merit badges. I'm not going to list them all.
I've listed them all before in previous videos. I'm just going to say that I'm technically 20 out of 21 because I don't have all the required Eagle yet, so when you look at that position point, I'm actually 17 under 21, which means I have four and those left for our lifetime. family citizenship in the community communications and personal fitness and a few others I'm working on is archeology we all write reading and sales unfortunately I haven't worked on either of those recently enough to earn one of those merit badges. pretty close to some of them, I only need to fulfill one or two requirements, but they are very specific, so I have to do my best to try to do it, but if I get what will be plus eight merit badges, I will do it.
I have it under my belt, making it a collection of 28 mayoral badges for me now again. I'm only 20 so I need these top four to get my Eagle Scout so last month I passed Scout rank when really last month but in the last month. In November and part of October I went over the Scout rank and did it and completely covered all of that. I've covered food exploration, explained what the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge and the Cooking Merit Badge were, and note the Cooking Merit Badge is still being separated into different segments due to its length, as well Look out for those videos in the future.
Now let's look at an overview of what they are. The celestial rank is obviously the first rank and repeats what codes. To follow the motto of the Scout Law oath, it explains the concepts of scouting and also that you need to demonstrate proper signals such as greeting, handshake and signal, you need to show understanding of basic Scouting skills and talk about safety and security for the Scout rank to be It is quite simple with the basic knowledge of your scouting career to explore for food. It is the largest single-day food drive in the country. It also helps feed those in need in every community.
Help improve scouting programs and implement the Scout motto of doing a good deed daily. Again, I've made videos for all of these, so if you'd like a more detailed explanation of how they're made, check out the links in the description. Emergency Preparedness focuses on Scouts' actions in emergencies and is specifically a continuation of the First Aid Merit Badge focuses specifically on emergency preparedness and is somewhat of a continuation of the Safety First Aid Merit Badge. first aid that focuses specifically on preparedness in certain situations and has to do with the prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery of certain emergencies. situations so it's all about the Scout motto of being prepared except bringing a broader concept of emergency preparedness and the last thing I covered in the last month is cooking part 1 as I said before there will be more videos in the future and this I just covered the basics of safety, health, nutrition and cooking so that people have the knowledge of what they need to know beforehand before cooking and again those videos are coming out very soon in the next few weeks as I said before exploring , what you are doing with the basics of things, as I explained it here. merge and I also explain how pocket knives work in pocket knife safety and usually the basics behind scouting, also for food scouting.
I went over how to plan it and how it works into what you're supposed to do when you watch. the bags and what they mean, so after searching for food, I moved on to emergency preparedness, where I explained how to approach certain emergency situations, how to deal with them, and how to apply those five words of prevention, mitigation, response, recovery and protection , and how to respond. to them and because of first aid, how to use the different supplies, moving on to the kitchen, then I explained the five food groups of the kitchen and what each of them means and how they are supposed to be nutritious for you and here I have two. things from the two food groups, bread and eggs, and near the end of that video I also showed a time lapse of one of the cooking events I did to fulfill one of the requirements, so let's jump right into the progress of the merit badge.
So I already showed this one, but I want to show it again because camping took me a long time and I finally completed it and made a video out of it, so that link will be in the description. I also cooked. I completed it and I'm making videos for the next few weeks emergency preparedness that I started over the summer and completed a while ago and communications, this is the one I started but haven't finished yet, this is one of the ones I have something very specific to complete sets of 92%. I'm almost done with that family life.
I'm 44 percent of the way there. Citizenship in the community. 29% of the way. The art of selling. I have ten percent, so that's in progress. Archeology. I have six percent that are also in progress and three percent that are in progress, so those are the ones that I have progress on, the least I have done anything and the ones that I haven't started but plan to start is reading and also the last requirement by Eagle. badge I need personal fitness. I haven't started them yet, but I will very soon once I want to earn my other admiration badges, so thanks for watching my video about my November Eagle Scout status update in just two years, if you enjoyed it. to the video please like it also there are no notifications on my channel now see you all in the next video and stay tuned for the future ones that I mentioned
