buttons

or the lack thereof having the talk of the town around the eight mark practically buttonless and weepy and you know, I don't like it at all, but I don't like these

buttons

, but

they

are not as good as the physical Volkswagen buttons . has gotten rid of every physical button, apparently not realizing that every car company that has done this has had to put them back in place for the next generation. The buttons that were removed from these cars generated many opinions about what a problem it was. But are

they

right as human beings? It is difficult for all of us to change.

So, like many others, my reaction to the inside of the buttonless market was to see that I'm getting older, but I'm not going to go to the pharmacy at eight years old to pick up. mom, a pack of cigarettes and her happy pills, man, I'm finding out the world is a cold, dark place Oregon Trail, old Mary has dysentery, she died in the late '90s or, as the kids call it nowadays , at the end of the 20th century mobile phones began. To catch up in the early 2000s, everyone had a cell phone, maybe you had a Blackberry or maybe you had a Nextel and you were having walkie-talkie conversations in line at the bank talking about what you were planning to have for dinner, which is absolutely a Conversation you should have in a public place for everyone around you to hear, but remember, when the original iPhone came out in 2006, there was a huge controversy about the lack of a keyboard at the time it had a Motorola queue and I remember thinking I would never be able to.

Getting by without a physical keyboard, how could anyone even type a text message on a glass screen? My question is: Are buttonless interiors the new normal or are they the automatic seatbelts of our time? The Mark 8 has normal switches on the window mirrors. and unlock buttons, otherwise the interior of this car has haptic feedback buttons, touch sensitive buttons or no buttons at all, the buttons I would miss the most would be the climate controls and the radio controls, for me the standout is the radio volume knob when The first time I drove the car, both immediately caught my attention because of the volume controls.

You have two separate options: you have the touch-sensitive slider that's under the radio here or the haptic button on the left side of the steering wheel, for me the slider under the radio. I felt like it was a little difficult for each volume adjustment, so my go-to was the buttons on the steering wheel to raise and lower the volume. The problem I had here is that every time I wanted to rock I had to press this arrow more. quite a few times and the haptic buttons don't like to be pressed over and over again, what I later found out is that in addition to the button control on the steering wheel, they also had a swipe function that would allow you to control the volume with just a swipe of the Fingering left and right using the swipe feature on that volume button actually eliminated any frustration I had with that button.

Now I will do a summary giving my full opinion on all the buttons at the end of this video. There's no mute button or a full quick down knob, sure you can slide the steering wheel controls a bunch of times or press the button a bunch of times, but we found that if you slide all the way from plus to minus, it automatically mutes, we also found that you can swipe down and create a mute shortcut there. The only complaint I have about this whole radio thing is that the central radio control is not turned on at all and I'm not talking about this. alpha dog unicorn mega milk honey things are on family we're talking like you can't see anything at night the best thing you have is these half braille bumps to separate the heat control sliders and the volume control we're looking for possible solutions to this problem for our clients.
The best thing we have so far is driving with this head light used by our technicians and cave explorers. You blind yourself. I looked in the mirror and I couldn't see anything blindly. Myself while we're on the topic of parts solutions, if you didn't know how to shop on our site for parts for your vw routy, it helps to watch support videos like this one, so instead of going to websites that rhyme with shmeecs.com , why not? Visit shopdap.com to get parts for your Volkswagen Routy. The climate controls on this car are as follows. The climate control button in the center that opens the climate control screen.
Sliders below the radio to control the left and right climate controls. Heated steering. button here on the bottom of the steering wheel, the front and rear defrost buttons below the headlight switch and the rear temperature controls here and here and the heated rear seat controls, all of which your kids will have fun starting these controls on the radio to control the temperature I never use them as to access these controls it's really easy because you can just press this button to control the screen, open it and then just more and less as you go, you can also swipe here to allow that to work too, all of which is easier than finding this particular hole, they could have put something much more useful oh 100, this is so useless, honestly, they would be better off, it would be better if it was a heater. seat button and a cooling button like a touchpad you would just like to heat and cool and then just leave this on the touchscreen you have Hans and Franz this is the moment in the pinions when we dance for me these don't They feel intuitive to use at all. under normal circumstances, that's why I don't use them and also, if you remember the unlit situation here, a fun fact about this unlit part that we looked at, maybe maybe drilling holes or modifying it in some way to light it from the bottom and It's part of this radio, so you can't have the heated and cooled seats controlled here at the bottom for the left and for now.
I've seen a lot of people complain about these controls and how they are. hard to access and small one thing that's really cool is they have a really cool user interface where if you want heated seats you can just double tap with your fingers and it turns on completely you can have heated seats and cool, yes, that way. You can have so much air conditioning in your rectum Your rectum is so hot and cold at the same time it's freezing hot for your entire body Now I know what you're thinking, Paul, that's not even a backlit control, that shortcut is useless if it's dark outside and in my opinion that's not how I would make that happen mainly because if you use your heated seats, you're going to use them as soon as you get in your car, so you're going to use them as soon as you get into your car.
When you get in before you even drive down the road, regarding the heated steering wheel, some people have said this, so the heated steering wheel control, which sticks out further towards you than any other control on the steering wheel, comes on constantly and accidentally while you're driving now I intentionally waited to make this video because I wanted to have enough time sitting in the car before giving you my opinion on the button situation. This car now has 1500 miles on it and I've been driving it for over a month during that time I only turned on this huge three thousand button once by mistake and I was doing one of these guys where I was turning the wheel like this in a parking lot I was packing up with force was packing my machine 8.
Now this feels subjective because depending on hand placement on the steering wheel, hand size, and lack of situational awareness of knowing where the buttons are on the steering wheel, then maybe you drive like that, I can see how that happens if you drive like that. You're a certified psychopath, you get in, you start your car and you're like that. Now I've added a survey to a Mark 8 specific Facebook group that we'll link to the description, but here are the results of people having issues with Mistakenly Pressing Their Heads on the Email Button. If you watched our track video, you probably saw Charles and I struggling to turn off the traction control on this car.
I have to turn off the track control. I do not know where it is. Forgot to read the owner's manual. for support, but what happens if you put it custom? Here we go. Previously this was a button, but now it's something controlled within the infotainment unit. Now Megan from Volkswagen, when I picked up this car and we did our event and all the other things, she helped me. i set up a few things on this car when i first bought it because she's an arcade product manager and she set up an esc shortcut but i'm dumb and dumb people are dumb and that means i forgot because now i'm dumb, the long way to go do that, go to the vehicle, then go to the vehicle, turn it, go to the brakes, there's that shutdown, now that's not very intuitive because why trash control in the back of the car is a good question.
I don't have an answer to that now if you have the shortcut just swipe down if you have the shortcut just swipe down we can't show these stupid errors that are happening now if you have the shortcut just swipe down press the button esc and then turn it off boom yeah that easy if you're not stupid you can turn on the light which is also touch sensitive in case you didn't know they'll be here all day just doing that and they'll do it. They'll drive you crazy, that's what kids do, they were born to test your stress level and how high your blood pressure can go without you having an aneurysm, that's their goal in life, they're like, oh.
Is this a new car? Yes, a thousand miles per hour. New. A new car. Let me see if I can find some crayons to leave here and melt on your air-conditioned seats. You have a happy rancher glued to your seat. maybe you look at this and wonder if there are better ways to get through screens because you don't like touch sensitive things, they also have where you can use force like this. How useful is that for this? I'm not so sure. I'm not really sure this is particularly useless other than being a cool feature that you can tell people you can do.
That's all I have there with the force. Can you push it with force? Oh no, you can. Not doing that is like when you tell kids they have a quarter in their ear, it's exactly as useful as that, you may know that the touch sensitive things on your phone don't work when you have gloves on, but If you have gloves that have touch sensitive parts that can work this is a standard glove this is one that has a touch sensitive tip there let's see if it works with a standard glove for the touch sensitive parts oh it actually does that's interesting, even with a Wow this is pretty sensitive so even with a non touch sensitive glove this actually works as you just saw it doesn't work on my phone but it works here it worked with this glove let's take a look at our glove which is not janky.
It's a glove that's mine, it has touch sensitive tips on the index finger and then also on the thumb, so we can look at it and see that it works as well and it probably works a little better than the other glove, but it doesn't really, uh, No. Really significant so you don't even need to have a touch sensitive glove to make this ambient work light these cute lights over here look you can change them customize them however you want but I also think the color purple. it's cool I'm a big fan of purple you have humor too so if you want an infinity stone pick this one if you want infinity stones I don't know if maybe navigation will take you to them I'm not sure how that works I think in honor of Thanos we should leave him purple, may he rest in peace, tear Thanos apart, so this is the part of the video where you expect me to throw this whole car and I'm not going to do that because I'm not a carpenter and that's what which everyone online is doing and frankly I don't feel like the lack of buttons on this car takes away from the overall feel of this car, frankly a lot of the initial frustrations I had with the lack of buttons. inside this car I was overcome by the UI and the interface once I learned it and I know you might be thinking I'm paying a shilling for VW uh I don't know why I would do that because I'm paying for this car this is the car I bought it, it's my car, I have to drive it every day, so if I hated it, I would tell you that I hated it.
I think a lot of the complaints about haptic feedback are a little different than normal buttons. Is it something I find? to be something you even need to get used to no actually it's a bit different but not a problem again I think the haptic feedback buttons are mostly just an oldie in my day we walked to school on both senses without feet, I don't know. I think this is a major problem. There isa few things I have criticism for, mainly if I had a magic wand to wave as to what the perfect things would be.
I would prefer to have a volume knob on the back. I'd rather have a blower here. engine control knob back and I would prefer to have knobs for the left and right air conditioning temperature controls, that would be my ideal circumstance, the rest of this could remain as is and I would be perfectly happy and even in some places e.g. this volume on In my opinion the controls on the steering wheel are not the haptic feedback part but the sliding part, it's actually a better experience than a real physical button because on a physical button you have to press it 16 times over and over and again where I You can swipe three times and the volume is almost at auto maximum, so there are circumstances where these haptic buttons that are touch sensitive are actually better than a normal button.
People talk about everything being piano black and I can tell you that. Before this video we had to clean the dashboard because there were fingerprints everywhere. You'll have to clean your car if you're a gross person like me, eh, you'll have to do some maintenance to fix it, so that's my opinion, but it's mine alone. What is yours? What do you think of all this? Are you angry? Would you like to attack me for liking me? Leave the car in the comments below, thanks for watching. If you like this video make sure to give it a thumbs up and YouTube doesn't show the thumbs down button so who cares?
