More Interesting Facts About,

Home Interactive for sponsoring this video now let's get back to your regular programming, so let's jump right into this with the GMC Sonoma, which is not the truck that you see behind me, but I have a midsize GMC Sonoma truck. I have several full size half tons and I even have that heavy duty truck you see behind me and here is Jace with his 2002 GMC Sonoma midsize truck with over 400,000 miles. Let's take a look. This is my 2002 GMC Sonoma. I saw the videos of the Tacoma and how everyone said how. Reliable, these have a little rust here and there but I had it for almost two years and it did the job but with the cape, the tacos and the Toyotas thought they had lots of miles and were super

reliable

.

It's 420mm and it's been running great since this truck was originally from Idaho, the guy put about 300 miles on it every day and it gets the job done, as you can see, it has a stereo on the back steps worse than the truck and so but I mean, it does the job, but it starts every time, I don't mind seeing it start every time, it sounds great too, I don't care, clutch man, super loud, automatic, v6, yeah, it's a ballad, eh, sounds great, runs like a champ, no. Note that noise there, but it sounds pretty good, a little dirty, okay Jase, I heard a little sarcasm in your voice, but then you've got a solid truck right there.

We generally rate trucks in this program and I'll give it to you. a truck, let's look at maybe a five because it's done over four hundred and twenty-two thousand miles, but I

love

how you show the truck and it also shows some of the resting places and how you say "oh, never mind that little clank and that little noise" . and a little clutch, etc., etc., but as long as that truck still gets you to work, gets you back, and gets the job done, I think that's what matters. It's pretty nice to look at and that 4.3 liter V6 engine is still running at least in this video next on the The listing is a Chevrolet Suburban, this is a 2002 model and of course you may know this but it has a 5.3 liter v8 under the hood and Oscar sent this video, let's see exactly what this truck is all about and it comes to us from New York.
Let's take a look TfL, this is Oscar, coming to you from a windy and rainy city of New York, thank you all for the channel. I'm a big fan. I've been watching daily for about five six years and thanks for the for the good content, this is in both the no and the suburban 5:3 227, so right now it's almost 30,000 miles to California. It is a single owner. It is a single owner. Before I got it, I knew the family that they were about to trade it in for a new GMC and I knew that they had owned these Suburbans in the past and I know that they are there mechanically, they are very strong and generally what affects them in the northeast here is the rust, that's why I knew as soon as I heard about it, I flew there, picked it up and drove it back to New York and the reason I wanted to make this video is that I think right now these Trucks are the best means, not too old, no. too new, you can buy them very cheap and you get a lot of trucks and a lot of cars for the money, but the main reason you know I didn't want four wheel drive is because when I bought this it was a hundred and ninety four thousand miles on, that it was two years ago and now it's a 227 so I drive quite a bit and most of the highway driving last fall at about 220,000 miles the transmission had to be rebuilt and I had a shop here local shop get it stranded early really you know that I really

love

this truck I'm a musician I'm a drummer I need the space I put about 15,000 miles here on it you know sometimes we take it on tour with my band to finish it all over the country Vermont Chicago Detroit Florida everywhere so It never lets itself wear out and these are, you know their engines are very robust, it doesn't leak oil, it doesn't burn oil, I think well, I'll change for the most part.
I had to change, you know, you could, you could say the sensors go after two hundred thousand sensors, but they're cheap, you can pick them up for 20 30 40 dollars for these these trucks 40 50 for some of them, but change one sentence or any main sentence or have you done it, you know we're the steam vent valve purge valve, you make that sensor into two sensors. I feel like these interiors get a lot of you know, people criticize them for being, you know, cheap GM, no. Late 90's early 2000's, cheap GM quality, but the reality is yes, I mean they are hard plastic.
You won't find anything German, you know, that touches on friendliness here, but that being said, you know with 230,000 miles it has it. no cracks, it has held up very well. I feel that, economically, it is a very well designed interior. I like the eNOS truck, you know, it has a sunroof, which I wish it didn't have because I don't like the sunroof interiors that held up well. The leathers held up well. I know you know this is not the prettiest leather. The only thing I will say is that the driver's shadow that the previous owner had reupholstered, usually there they crack and right at the edge and show you the two hundred miles. and twenty-six thousand nine hundred and fifty-three will probably be difficult to show, but that's part of the frame, you know, it's pretty much the entire frame looks like this, it has absolutely no rust, you can see up there, there's a little bit.
A little bit of flaking on the wax layer, but then you know the fluid film helps cover those spots, but yeah, I mean, this rust had, although this truck is absolutely rusty anyway, thank you all. Thank you very much for the excellent content. Thanks Oscar, your 2002 suburban really looks in very good condition, especially being on the east coast, so the body looks great. You're saying your engine and drivetrain are lasting. You are pretty. good and the interior is fine but I'm starting to see a trend that the interior of some of these older GM trucks doesn't last as well as you would expect and I can attest that I personally used to have a 2002 silver 2500. diesel and I also had a couple of rips in my seats and a couple of buttons were missing on my stereo.
Oscar. I gave your suburban a 6 out of 10 and the reason is because you have a clean suburban and as you say, maybe You don't need to buy a new SUV to still have an attractive, large and useful truck, so thank you for sending it and we are changing coast. Now we are going to California with José and he will

tell

us everything. about his truck and this video is a little shaky, but I think it shows another unique perspective on some of these older trucks, especially with a 5 and 3 liter v8. Let's see it. Hello everyone, today I would like to show off my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado I.
I'll show you a little backstory, a quick tour of the truck, some things I like about trucks and things I don't like about the truck. The first thing I did was remove all the chrome and add them, steal them, uh. black steel bumper and also remove the chrome grill with this black grill. I also removed the original wheels and tires and added these all-terrain tires and these spare rims. One of the things I don't like about this truck is, first of all, these things are It's pretty easy to steal, any thief can just walk in and steal this thing in about three minutes, that's why I added this aftermarket alarm system and also I added a kill switch that is hidden inside and another thing I don't like is The interior here has a leather interior which is pretty good but in this generation of GM trucks GM went very cheap on the seats they had big tear here and it looked pretty bad so i changed it and added.
This new one is vinyl, but it looks pretty good, makes it look new, cheap GM plastic, as you can see here, it's a man it breaks, stuff like this and then this was like it came off so I added this stuff over my dad added this stuff right here it also comes with four wheel drive too high for high for low it also has automatic four wheel drive and I have taken this off road several times and it does a pretty good job off road . On the road it has never let me down, it has 100,87,000 miles, yes, 187,186, but I think this truck still has a lot of life left in it because these five three vortexes are indestructible, they will never let you down for a long time and the achievement will last. forever and there is the exhaust, the original exhaust and it actually sounds pretty good, my opinion.
I'm planning on adding a full master or a Magnaflow in the future or Borla and yeah stay safe during this tour the virus pandemic thanks for sending the video really interesting he has quite a few miles on his truck about a hundred and eighty seven thousand , you are saying that you are not getting great fuel efficiency in your truck, but the powertrain has been pretty reliable, you have had a couple of other issues especially the ones you mentioned, it's interesting that you mentioned theft and how you are protecting your truck and also the modification that you've done and of course thank you for showing us the inside of your truck because some of the panels are getting a little loose but you're actually saying that your four wheel drive system works very well.
I'm going to give your truck another six out of ten because it looks like a solid vehicle and gets you off the road and that's what I think. which is the most important part, of course, that interior you're also taking care of with your seat replacement, so now we're shifting gears to a heavy duty truck. This is a 2003 GMC 2500 Heavy Duty with Duramax and Christopher diesels. has sent this video and this truck from the first glance looks beautiful, let's see what Christopher has to say about his equipment now it is diesel. Hello TfL viewers my name is Christopher I live in Tennessee and this is my contribution to the guy Love or Hate my vehicle this is my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 so dad owned the van since February 2005 and then He sold it to me in May 2014 and during that time I made a front leveling kit.
I made a 4-inch turbo rear exhaust. I have done the fabulous nerf bar nerf steps. I have made an SMB cold air intake and PPE boost boost valves. The truck has just under two hundred and thirty thousand miles on it right now and of course if you are familiar with these trucks you know it has the lb7 engine which was the first generation of the 6.6 Duramax so naturally it had the common fault injector about a hundred and I mean a hundred and fifty thousand miles but it's been good since then but let me show you the interior now this truck has a tan cloth interior that I wish it had the darker gray that was an option this year , but the tan ones are fine and when it's clean it looks good.
I have WeatherTech mats in there, so that's backwards over the years. I added a JVC touchscreen stereo with Sirius XM Bluetooth and USB, all that kind of stuff. This one, of course, has a fold-down console that can be used as a third seat if needed, but I think I've used it maybe twice in syv, had the truck, but overall it's in really clean condition for a 2003. Here There's the back seat. This is where I took many road trips as a child and now get to raise my family. the same truck, which is cool of course, it has a little tear here, which most of these do in this generation, all the electrical functions work and everything, let me come in here and as you can see, it turns on right now, if you know. a lot about these trucks you know this gauge cluster is known to be problematic well mine all my gauges work fine however as you can see in the picture the gear indicator light does not come on so it won't show you if you're in park, reverse and neutral, you know something like that, but over the years I've learned to follow thefeeling and then during the night half the speedometer doesn't light up right, it comes on but it's very dim but other than that everything works, the air is freezing.
I have a brake controller installed. My dad actually did it when he got the truck back. Thank you all for watching. I hope everyone stays safe and healthy. See you on the way. Take care, Christopher. Thank you. you for sending this truck, it's actually very clean, very nice and I'm a little biased because I used to have a truck very similar to this 2002 Chevy Heavy Duty. I'm going to have to give it 10 out of 10. I think this The truck It lasted very well, you took very good care of it and that Duramax with 230,000 miles on it is probably just breaking in and this truck will probably serve you well for many years to come, so thanks for sending it in and letting us know exactly what's going on with your rig, the Chevy Suburban 2004, and Christopher sends it to us from Illinois, near the Chicago area, and well, let's see. what Christopher has here and I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and this is my 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, it's an LS which means it's moderately equipped with a 5.3 liter V8 engine, a 4l60e 4x4 automatic transmission Four speeds with steering lock in the rear. differential I love this vehicle.
I've considered finding a rusty donor truck to fully restore. I figure for about fifty thousand dollars I could do it and it would be cheaper than buying a new one. There are no problems with this truck starting at the front of the engine. and the transmission has been rock solid, no leaks, no problems, always starts, even started at 30 degrees below zero, that's not wind chill, it actually maintains temperatures several times over, pure economy, forgive me, fuel economy is well at fifteen in the city and eighteen and the engine power on the highway is more than enough for me, it is not fast, but there is a lot of power for my uses and how do I use it well?
I use it for family trips, hunting trips, fishing trips, hauling firewood, and modest towing. I have a family of five people plus dogs, the suburban swallows. all our gear and not complaining multiple family trips and hunting trips with a full load inside the roof rack on top and a four by eight trailer behind, I mean loaded and she drives it okay. I told her yes, she handled it very well and all. That's right, it's her, her name is Black Betty, off-road use is in mud and snow on a regular basis, hunting, fishing, chopping and hauling firewood are Betsy's highlights.
Aftermarket add-ons, as we saw on the front of the truck. She has all four headlights and I have a relay in the truck that allows me to turn on these low beams and the high beams at the same time, it sends a lot of light down the road and I really like that, especially driving on a dark road. Late at night and with vent visors, all my vehicles have caught fire within a mile of vent visors inside Betty. She has cloth seats and I love the velvet seats. She has intricate seat belts which I find very practical.
The mixture or actuators of it that control the temperature settings in a vehicle behind the dashboard, as well as the heater core, both of which are not fully functional. Unfortunately, I have to destroy the entire board to get to them and I'm NOT going to do that because it's a very long and time-consuming process. I guess I'm living with it recently, the brake lines went bad which was an expensive repair costing about three grand but worth it as I plan to continue driving this vehicle with the right front bearing which is also very typical of Chevrolets.
Since I have a very bad rust problem, there have been moderate four by four problems on this vehicle, all of which I was able to fix very easily. If your hand, nothing can wash a little YouTube, rust is the main one. problem in the vehicle, as you can see back here, we are in a side hit because this vehicle is left on the street 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for its entire useful life, the body will fall off the vehicle before Benjen and the drive train. leave it alone, as you can see, rust is definitely pretty bad and bothers me quite a bit, but what can you expect from a vehicle parked outside all the time?
I bought it, used it around 2010 with 70,000 miles now it has 150,000 miles. and Christopher, thank you for sending us your suburban. The reason I included it on this list is because this truck has lived outside most of its life, especially in the Chicago area. It's been parked on the street and thank you for showing us all the details, especially some of the rest and what's up with that because that's an important part of having a reliable truck. I'm going to give a suburban a 6 out of 10 because it's a hard-working vehicle that has lived outside its entire life and I think it has something more.
It has years left right now, here's a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 truck in new generation SE, but it still has a lot of miles on it and Justin shipped it in, so let's see what this truck has in store. TfL truck, this is Justin from Tennessee and in front. It's my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500, so the work truck goes off the road quite a bit. I have some cheap mud tires that I would never use again and a 135 gallon fuel tank. I've had it for 120,000 miles and I don't know if the previous owner had any problems with it, but I didn't, except for the brake drums in the rear or they need to be replaced.
I don't like those brake drums, it's not a fan, but I'll show you the miles to start it. look under the hood here, start completely. I just did a tune up a couple months ago with the stock air box but yeah nothing to see really so I guess that's it stay safe and thanks Justin for sending this your 2012 truck that's it. approaching two hundred thousand miles which is good and yes some beefy tires a gigantic fuel tank in the bed so thanks for

tell

ing us about your truck and showing us some of its unique features there aren't many modifications on this one so I'll give it a six out of ten, but it seems to have a great purpose and seems to be a hard working truck, so thanks Justin for sending it.
This is the 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 and it's a stunner because according to The Ad Meter it has almost 450,000 miles on this engine and this truck but something is going on with this so I'll let you watch this video and then let's see what you think, How did you feel? My name is Jeremy Brad. I've been watching those videos for about four years, this is my 1999 Silverado folding, excuse me, four wheel drive, I've had it since that November 2017 2000 pound one, it's been a good truck, I replaced it with that one that It's down there. a 2005 GMC Sierra, but this one that, you know, shows its age, you know it used to live up to the noise of Colorado for most of its life for about 15 years and then they came here and I bought it from Carl, but It has my dad's boat right now it has some junk on it but they will be taking it out very soon but these wheels were on it when I bought it I put tires on it those are BF Goodrich rough terrain overall it did pretty well I can't. complain, you know, you're surprised the mousers are only here in this left corner spot because I have a diff on, they're trying to figure out what was wrong and the whole tailgate got filled with fluid, walk around to the other side this is the other side had an exhaust tip here about a year ago someone stole it not too bad this one has a good bad like the others she was a good truck and still runs pretty good i will give you a start up once here i show you the gauge old, that's how many miles it has, but actually my mistake now forgot that's not the actual miles.
The owner who had this before me had put back a hundred thousand miles before he got it, so it actually has about five hundred on it. and thirty seven thousand miles so yeah the transmission on this truck is not the same as the factory factory hand came out to about four hundred and twelve thousand dollars we don't know why this headlight doesn't seem to care because I hit a bucket while anchored. Broken, get your differential breaking point, you can't beat a Chevy. I say thank you sir, thank you archives for your time, continue making the video fast.
I am very impressed with this truck. I have looked at many different options. The GMs you guys sent probably about 60 different vehicles, a lot of them were newer, a lot of the Chevy Colorados they sent us were new trucks with not a lot of miles on them, but this one has the most and I don't know how. You can go back on the domitor like the digital odometer here, but having almost 500k miles on it is very impressive. The truck seems tired but it's still going and still carrying all your loads and the trailer you've hitched to it. that's pretty impressive and one thing is clear to me: the powertrains in these trucks are durable and are relatively easy to fix if they break, but the interiors are not as durable, the seats are usually broken, the door cards They are usually falling apart. and of course there are some rust issues, but all trucks, no matter the manufacturer, can have some rust issues, especially in the frame and bed sections, so I think at the end of the day we could say that the GM trucks are reliable in the powertrain, but maybe For this era of truck that I showed you today, it is from the early 2000s and late 1990s, the interiors and maybe some of the body components are not they last so long and don't hesitate to email us to ask a TfL van communicator if they have another high mileage truck you can send it to us or if you have any questions or comments we have already made Ford vans you are our vans now these GM trucks, so we'll continue to ram and dodge and of course Nissan and maybe some. of the exclusive trucks too so we'll continue our search for the most reliable truck in the country and thank you and we'll come back to TF from truck communications from when you watch real world truck news and radio.
