Mar 27, 2024
Hey guys, Levi's for the rag company and today it's a great Jason Rose, who's been with me since Rubezh. He was driving. It was nice of you to stop by. Hi, so one of the good things about this and the timing of it. We have the new

protect

ion now available on the website, pick it up and use it, but I wanted Jason to come and be able to talk to us, tell us why it's such a great product, why it works and you know why. what are the benefits most of you understand based on podcasts, maybe you hear me talk or other videos.

I was never a big fan of an all in one product and they were too hard to remove, they had fillers and it took too long and I found out I could go quicker by using a polish and the

protect

ion agent which is why people heard this

step

20 minutes I talked about, but I've been using protection since January. I love it. but what I loved was when we talked to you about it you said the same thing that you weren't a fan of all in one products, yeah you know, over time, especially it's a perspective that for high end paint correction and detailing In high-end products there is a perception that all-in-one products are some kind of trap or they are less professional or we are giving false results to the customer, so there is a bit of misunderstanding about the function and usefulness of an all-in-one.

Product in one Well, I love it, why don't you show us a quick application on the surface? Do you want to use that pen? I'm sure you know without knowing that we haven't made a test robot, so I have no idea how the paint turns out. I'm going to answer, but this would be the ideal option for a test. I thought okay, you're going to get maximum cut and finish, kind of a balance of cut and finish with this pad and on most cars this will end up very well. So this is what we really expect the test module to say: "Okay, that's a good match." Well, and for those of you wondering, you can go back and watch our YouTube videos where we do a detailed episode of Morgan Learns where we take this foot out of a car in a junkyard, we're literally taking it off, it's very beat up, yeah , it has a lot of damage, it has a lot of water spots and it was a repaint, so this is not Hyundai factory paint, but I think so.

Perfect, you might see some spots that didn't come out, but this hood is pretty much the worst case scenario of a car that we could find, so it's a test, yeah, I drove here, that's it, so the first thing you want to do. It's shake, shake this because there are liquids and solids that you want to make sure are completely suspended here. Next, the natural priming process, Rufus recommends four compounds and polishes. You don't have to be so picky with this because it will do a lot of self-priming, yeah, you know, the way the formula is, so you basically want to put some product in there.

I make a spiral, you can sign your name, you know, make an X with my faces, smiley faces or dots or whatever you want. I'll let you be fine and then this first application will work as our test point? Okay, so you've been on this hood, yeah, no, let's look for a good bad area right here, we'll select the speed. four, that's our speed recommendation and we're going to make side-to-side passes in an area six times the diameter of the pad of whatever diameter we're working with, which is a five-inch pad, so that's our area, okay and then here's the adjustable part.
I'll talk about this now before I turn on the tool because you're talking about having some competition with the noise of the tool, but the adjustability on this product are two things that I can adjust while applying this that will directly impact the removal of defects. okay so I can use a fast arm speed and light pressure and that will give me the fastest application that will shine the paint, but that would be minor defect removal for something like let's say it's a ceramic coated car and you do it in just a touch up slightly, you don't want to burn, you don't want to cut the ceramic, so you're doing light pressure at high speed, that would be the application for the stereo, so it also slightly removes defects on a new car, Let's say.
You'll want to be less aggressive in your technique now on the other side of the spectrum if you wanted maximum defect removal with this product and it will cut like crazy. In fact, we have made 3000 grit sanding marks, so the adjustment Make is more downward pressure, slower advance of the arms and then it will increase the defect removal of this product, so I don't know what we will get with this, but I'll do moderate, moderate pressure and that's it, so then We'll do our time lapse 20 minutes later, here we go, you really shouldn't be cleaning this vest, but as you can see, oh yeah, sorry, and you can even see where you were working, so what do we have.
Oh, this actually answered very well, so let's see where I wasn't here. Many rust water stains were removed. Now I can still see that the deeper scratches are still there, but if we went through a complete car like this, this would be transforming the look of a car, yes you would get it, you were probably Joe Fernandez talks about certain percentages that you can get from a car and you'd always take a car that's maybe five years old and you'd start to like it. Six or seven, yeah, you know, and that's it, which instantly most people say, "Oh, yeah, and very, very smooth." .
I know you can't feel this on camera, but it's very, very soft and smooth and let me show you one more. What if I can turn the tool on again, do it, it works better if you open the lid wide. One thing I found out is I went to one of your trainings that I didn't even think about and this is just me like The retailer recaps the product because of the way the chemistry is in the bottles, your polishes and compounds and those Things can get ruined because you left the lids open. Yes, I am known for running the

best

salons.
Well, you're not alone. many Detailers and leave this lid open and even a couple of hours or at the end of the day they will have changed the formula in the bottle because water and solvents have a very important rule: the tap now just for show and I know they can Look, such You may not be able to in front of the camera, but I will adjust my technique. I'm going to do more pressure and slow down what I just did is a short cycle that I left it, you know, just to make a point, so I just did that one. pass well, you have two left, you did more pressure, slower speed, yes, and you will see the dramatic difference and what this product will do with that oh holy cow, it basically did exactly what you did here, but you just do that much less time, Yeah. and the deeper marks that I had are gone, so it shows the adjustability of this product depending on the technique and that's what's really gentle Pat, yeah, so you can, there's actually two levels of aggressiveness beyond this pad, we have our blue wool, we have microfiber if I wanted really strong power, so the adjustability of this product is very wide, yes, it is a wide range of adjustability, right, yes, and for me, as in my store, one of the things I always try to tell my guys is that I want to try to provide as much as possible. of shine and protection to a vehicle the least amount of work because we're running a business and that's just the key to that and a lot of that was trying to figure out how we could get the

best

finish for the job yeah so if it was hey , we're doing this on your car and it's an extra $150.
I'm not going to pull out 3000 grit and start wet sanding and do a three or four

step

process. You will get a product, a pad, that's all. you get it for me, yeah, let's say we're going to go to the next one, it's two products, two pads, so there's a certain price, um and as consumers of all the detailed services and actually other products that consumers buy , there is a stratified offering, so many consumers are conditioned to better understand the good and the best and an all-in-one wax or cleanser, you know whatever you want to call it, but that type of product serves very well at a certain price, yes, especially for customers who are just looking for a little pop they want the car to look a little better they have been driving it maybe they are car wash customers in the sense that that's what they are as soon as they leave your store they will go to run through the car wash a week later, soccer mom, that kind of thing, so the cleaning wax category really all-in-one cleaning wax, whatever you want to call them, the function of those is to go through the car once and, Like you said, give it shine. removes some defects but achieves what you can get in a single application around the car and gives a shiny and protected surface, that's the Rev feature and everything in them and like you in the past I haven't been happy with the category because it's very big challenge for a chemist I'm not a chemist, but there is a challenge for all-in-one chemistry because you're trying to do a lot, yeah, you're trying to get enough cutting, you're trying to get enough capacity finish puts some protection, yes, and not all the time those things work well together, so there are a lot of cleaner waxes and all in ones on the market and they are all a balancing act between those three things, cut finish and protection, so some of them are very strong in one of those three or maybe two of the three, but they are weakened in the third and my goal with our development team is that we wanted to have a very fast application, which was one of the main objectives. it has to be applied quickly it has to be wiped off quickly it has to be a quick application because that works for that price yeah, you know, all in one and then we wanted the maximum cut that we can get in this product category and we wanted the highest shine and the slickest finish and the most durability you can get all in one bottle, so it's kind of a balancing act between those three cut finishes and protection, and we think we nailed it, yeah.
One of my favorite things about this is the ability to just leave it in the car and then wipe it off and then wipe it off it's so easy it's like you're removing easy wax as a nice simple finish which is not normal for an all in one , sometimes it's a little stickier or it's oily and it streaks like crazy when you wipe it off and it leaves marks so this is like you read my mind it's like we took all the things that I didn't like and you made them and I was like, yeah, that's really cool, I don't know, it's a family of products, right, it's not like that, that's what we've been calling it, you know, but that's it, you know, protect, yeah, so there's a family of the ones you know , Bigfoot with in

rupes

s, there are some sub brands Bigfoot Scorpio Scorpio, you know. now a new sub brand for Rufus and it is meant to be a family of products, the first to come out and the family was the one that you know how to protect, some of you may be aware of what you know pure, which was recently SEMA and there will be more products in them, you know the family, but basically what this sub-brand means, what you know is that it is a product that can be used on all the tool platforms that we sell, so the random orbital, the gear driven and the rotary, this product can be applied with yes, so one.
Universal product for everyone and even by hand, so it's Universal in its application, nice and then you also know that you can take this product and use it with a variety of pads, yes, wool pads, microfiber foam, whatever one is What I like is the pad-dependent cut, so to speak, it's a term we use all the time, but the reason we like a product is that it's that pad-dependent cut, so that you can use something like the wool here, which is very soft and get a very nice finish or, if you need to step it up, you go to that blue wool and do a little more aggressive cut, but what I love is that even with that blue wool you get a very good finishing ability, yes, so the product is adjustable, that's another way of saying what you just said more eloquently, but it is adjustable in its cut and its finishing is based on the choice of the pad, so we get a lot of questions.
Oh I love this product but what pad am I supposed to use with it? you know, I use wool, I use microfiber, I use foam and our answer is yes, yes, any of them and we've been doing it in our own testing, it's one of my favorite things because if let's say you get a car that's very light like just take a silver car you can't really see all the scratches it has it's not that bad you can hit it with yellow wool or yellow foam and it will be perfect or you can stop halfway change a place the pad on a blue pad scratch it a little , remove that scratch or close it further, go back to the pad and just finish what you're doing and you won't have to change the product you're not having.
Which is a huge time saver, especially in a detail store environment. If we want to narrow the field a bit, for those of you whoThey just don't want all those options on pads within our product line, we would use our yellow foam. you go or yellow wool, yeah, what are these guys? Yeah, this will narrow the field if you have these two pads and this product, you can actually accomplish most of what you want to do on most cars, yeah, well, on this hood that we have. like some extra water stains this is a junkyard hood of course but it has a lot of standing water it has some stuff on it and I hit a couple spots with the blue just to see if I could cycle it and other times you'll find that as normal , all of that if you cycle it throughout the life of that product until it's almost used up, yes, it doesn't always work, it gets dirty, it makes you start melting part of the core, excites some of the material, yes, etc. but what I like about this is even if you do a heat cycle to where you are it still left a really nice finish.
I was able to clean it. I didn't have any problems removing the product, but it had that workability that I really like because sometimes you want to work a little bit harder on a little spot, yeah, and that's it. part of the adjustable nature of the shield that you know and one of the frequently asked questions that we get is what is the defect removal force, what is the defect removal power and it's actually a difficult question to answer because it's adjustable and It is based on the choice of pad, the choice of tool and the technique, so it is a difficult question to answer because it is known that a point on the scale is well organized and does not replace it.
This is not designed to replace a multi-step correction or a true pain correction, as if you have a client who is in pain and wants to do three or four steps for whatever you are doing, you do those steps with the other set of products. the Rufus family and you can use the pads, but this is for people who need it, just want to make some money and a customer looking to get a quick car policy. This is easy because you add that polishing adds that protection and you get that absolutely right shine and shine and it's in the category of what some people call express detailing, yes that level and then it's also a maintenance product for a complete polishing procedure. multi-step paint correction, maybe six months later, you just need to once you know what's around the car and let's back up Bruce and that's a good purpose for this product so chemically for people who are wondering that the protections are almost like two sides, so one of the reasons for the product is that you leave the product on the surface, yeah, so you're Basically, you apply the product to the surface that you're going to leave it on, you don't wipe it off , you give 20 minutes for the first initial batch to relax, so yeah, ideally, let's talk about the ideal application and then I realized that a lot of the Detailers You're not in the ideal environment to do what we're going to suggest, but let's talk about what the ideal situation is.
If you want to be out of direct sunlight, if you can cool to the touch on the surface, apply the product to do its job. test spot determine which option you want and then apply the product all over the car you go around apply each panel and come back and leave that residue on each panel as you go and that will fit into what you called 20 minutes so A time of 20 minutes allows the solids that are in this product to settle and deposit in layers to make any bond that is to be achieved. That 20 minute dwell time seems to be ideal and then you can go back and wipe the residue off so it basically takes you about 30 to 45 minutes to run around a car for most beginners or novices.
You know, I should say, unless you have a big car, we joke that I can get around a car in about 20 minutes, but the point is. that period of time, when you do it completely, you're basically set, yeah, it's like when I joke with people that when you apply a wax, when do I take it off properly as soon as you get there? the other side of the car yeah and you did it then you just switch grab a towel and start wiping it off and that first puts the Levi solids in so the 20 minute time yeah 20 to 30 minutes this product has a protection package. that's a mix of solids and synthetic liquid polymers okay they crosslink so let me give you another number so twenty minutes is the good dwell time for the solids to settle on the surface and do their job now for hours after the application. clean the residue, it is actually better to let the car air out for hours and not get wet, so ideally there is no moisture left in the paint, yes, for four hours, and the reason is that the polymer system What the polymer sealant is doing is cross. -binding and it takes about three to four hours and during that time you don't want any moisture in there because that will interfere with that multilingual gains ability and what I've also done is I've been able to keep this on a surface overnight so that at home, in my garage, I've been working on the car, I put the product in, I just let it sit, yeah, I was done, I went to bed, I came back out in the morning and then I cleaned the product. and what I like is how quickly and easily it comes off even after sitting on the paint surface for about ten hours, and there aren't many products that you can do that with without feeling bad about it later in the day following.
In the morning, you're really going to go to town and scrub it, you say, well, I should have cleaned it, well, going back to our original goal, we wanted a quick application and part of that quick application is easy, well, and So, in a detail shop, you could walk around a car and get it to the surface, even if you said faster, you could take that extra time while it's still on the surface, you could reline the tires, clean the wheels. maybe you could vacuum the inside one last time, whatever you want to do and then when you're done, wipe it all down and you could park it, let's say it's an afternoon and you called your client and they won't want a watch, you call them and they say hey, I'll be there for five, you could leave it out there for those four hours on a nice day where it's not going to rain or anything good and it'll become technically brilliant.
Hey, yeah, I'm glad you mentioned that, because one of the things about this, according to user feedback, is that the car looks different four hours later and that's because once the cross-linked polymer completely binds to the gloss level. it's actually an increase and I checked it with a brightness meter it actually has a higher brightness for a year for hours later so that's great and then let's say at that point so let's just have a quick detail on something with that you'll be walking the car with the client and you need to touch up a couple of spots, you're safe because if it's within that four hour period to wet the surface, I think this is one of my favorite products that I've been using.
It's a lot because my hobby at home, detailing my garage for my friends and family, is literally just one step away. I have a couple of full paint fixes that will suit everyone, but this is 90 percent and it's a perfect Saturday afternoon. of treatment because it is fast, it is simple and the results are incredible, it is interesting, you say that because I think about this product when I was a retailer. I'm not detailing cars now, but when I was years ago, I won't tell you how many. years, but I had a mobile detailing business for 12 years and if I had this product back then, oh, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself, you have so much, you would have so much money, your pants would probably fall off, but I would also have a lot more work than you could, yeah, start?
I finished very quickly, yes, so I like the effects of this product. I think this is going to be a game changer for the industry because I haven't played with an all-in-one yet, it's that simple, that fast, that easy and everything in there, you get that kind of result in one hood. so hit, it's crazy and those of you are wondering. I made this in vinyl wrap, so my Suburbans are vinyl wrapped. I did the same process with the yellow wool on vinyl, I had no problems and it worked perfectly because I was able to go fast.
I was able to keep the heat down, so I did a light press without heat, but I was able to remove a lot of the light, fine, just scratches that get into the coating, so it works well on that too, so I guess it will work on people with PPF and things that want to polish the PPF, absolutely the same type of thing, but there you go, Jason, thanks. you for coming man I appreciate it this is awesome I always love when he's here well actually when we can hang out this is your first time here in the building which is even better very awesome, awesome, it will definitely be a lot more fun. once we're completely ready to rock here, but as always guys you can pick up Rubezh, you know, protect it here at the rag company and pair it with any of the fine Pez Draw pads that we have as always guys make sure they like it. share comment and subscribe and stay tuned for more videos right here the rag company youtube channel thanks for watching
