I found that the call quality can be a little better on the version, and you can use the headphones. on either version on one ear with no problems, but I found it very useful to have the option to use hey Siri without using the touch controls. I think a lot of people will overlook this new feature on the airpods, so if you have the existing airpods, I wouldn't buy the airpods;

Unless you really want the hey Siri feature, if you want wireless charging, you can buy the case separately if this is your first time looking at airpods. I won't be disappointed and it would be worth purchasing in my opinion. I would like to see waterproofing in future versions so it can be used in active lifestyles.
