From Colombia we know this country quite well and you know that there are some sunny days, but the gray weather can persist, especially near Medellin, it is also very high, so this morning when we woke up and the clouds had opened, it is as if was fine. meant to be, you know, yeah, exactly exactly and uh I was looking at like the uh the weather like the current weather and usually like in I think in October or November it's you, it rains 24 days a month and today we're like the perfect the perfect weather not too hot very perfect and as perfect as your set um I would say uh there are a lot of questions online guys if you have any questions on Twitch or Facebook please don't hesitate to ask me it seems like You had a lot of fun playing today, what is your or what are your main purposes as djs?

Well, I think obviously our thing is called group therapy and it's really been such a challenging time that we're going through, at least for me. It feels like these kinds of moments are truly healing, like I've had my own battles and come here surrounded by so much love, really, yeah, I saw your message on your computer, uh, yeah, and you, you, you talked about the difficult times we live in. I found myself and we are still within these coveted cruises, from what mistakes or what did you learn from this personally from the Kovid pandemic from the pandemic.

To be honest, I gained a great appreciation for not doing anything I thought I would never do. I was absolutely, I mean, I'm looking forward to maybe one day maybe retiring one day and I'm absolutely terrified of it because I think in some ways maybe you feel like a big part of yourself is involved. in what you do in this job, so just stopping and spending time cooking and around the house and then I started doing these kind of deep DJ sets from my kitchen table that had nothing to do with beyond and actually It really felt good, it gave me a real perspective of what he does beyond and really only in the last few months have we been able to do it again with this US tour and today, obviously.
To be honest, when we agreed to do this, I imagine it would be just us without an audience, yeah, it was one of those, you know, so it's actually wonderful to get back to the day job, so to speak, with a real person. sense of perspective on what exactly it is that we do and I think getting into that deep thing over the 18 months that I was doing it and meeting people in that scene, many of whom are from Colombia and are here today, gave me a real different perspective. about what beyond an Anjuna beach and engineering means to the world, so it's been a really lovely experience for me, it's been terrible.
Parvo has had bad Kobe twice, so you know, we, you, you can't, you can't take away the real human suffering that's happened in the last two years, but for me, selfishly, it's been an interesting and lovely experience, yes, take your time, do things maybe more slowly, you did it and you do many things that you like. andrew nady andrew nabit uh you're a dj producer artist you also have your radio shows you do so many things how you balance how much time you put in and you balance between like all the projects now nowadays well I guess we all like to play like a different kind of part At first we actually started Juno Beats, we literally put out all the vinyl and we were lining up outside the venues to do it and as the thing got bigger and bigger it got busier with touring, you know?
James, who runs in June and in depth with Jody, has done an incredible job of building a truly world-class team that is really supported beyond and everything, and I think at the moment, especially with what's been going on in recent years, um. We've seen that our role is almost like spiritually leading where things are going and then if we can create something that's also like leading where labels are going and inspiring other artists and in that way I think that's really our role. it's being like that, you know, showing where to go, but you know we have 50 people working in the UK now, yeah, in our office, so you know they take care of a lot of things for us.
I imagine 50 people. It's a lot and the crazy thing about your labels is how committed the people are, how similar the school and family are and how passionate your community is, how do you think you got there and how do you think a new label can do like what is it? the recipe for a new good lab seal in 2021. I think it's a combination for us. We have ended up with a stamp that is unique and incredibly valuable. A good friend of mine is or until recently was the president of Warner Music Latin. America and he used to work at Warner's with him, I chatted a lot about what record companies can do now and his opinion is not very good, artists usually do most of their online marketing themselves, so a record company It's like a bank and I think that's not the case for us, we have, I don't know, let's say two million, let's say three million passionate fans around the world who are very lucky for us because it's taken us a while to get to that really interested in everything we do.
We introduce the labels and the artists we introduce to them and it's an incredibly privileged position we're in, but it also makes me think that for us the label is an incredibly powerful tool because the Warners don't have a loyal representative. fan base that we have, we end up with this incredibly valuable resource, uh, which is all of these, you know the people who come to our shows and are so passionate about uh angina beats and gina deep, and you know, forgive us for changing direction. here and there, I loved the acoustic tour, I love the yoga albums um that we've done, they're very accepting of us having fun being out there and that's incredibly valuable too, right?
The rigorous that we remain the same, so we are very, very lucky, yes, and you and your label have a real role within this industry, like you, as you told us, now artists are more and more like they are alone in this in the promotion and everything um soon we will upload this content on YouTube do you watch YouTube and what kind of videos are you watching on YouTube? Well, I've actually loved the live npr shows. I don't know, npr, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, they're like a wide variety of different types of amazing live shows there, um, yeah, of course, like Ben Boomer has repeated so many times, it's amazing, yeah, he liked a really amazing set and um, it I'll do, um, um.
I remember this one forever, I think, but this one was also, it was so magical. I'm looking at all the questions online, uh, Joe Doherty question, do you discuss the choice of tunes with each other before playing or is it more of a battle? of boxes that we used to genuinely play back to back and I think we felt dissatisfied with that, unless you're in the same place at the same time with someone, you end up in a slightly different part of the universe so you can Without speaking, read the musical taste of someone, the musical choice, I think it's turned out to be very difficult for us, so what we do now is take turns and today was Parvo's set, so I think it's a more satisfying journey because it's someone's. vision and I think that makes it more cohesive.
Do you know more flow instead of cutting and changing? I've been doing quite a few back-to-back sequences at the end of my streams and it ends up being a bit of a pissing contest sometimes like, you know, like uh Marx played Mr. Wazoo the other day, you know, deal with it, how are you going to get out of it? You know, it's like, no, I don't think this and I guess it's fun to watch online, but I think when there are real people who want to dance, you want to flow and I think that takes a singular mind to plan it, but on the other hand, when you play back again and you're in exactly the same vibe it's also amazing but it's very weird yeah it can be I think you get there after about 20 minutes there was always this kind of fishtail first 20 minutes and I used to do it.
It really bothers me because you know that should be good too, especially for this kind of short set and obviously one of the main things that we do beyond that is also do really amazing shows and I think I have this idea that we have someone. In charge, then we can apply that vision to the structure of the show visually and everything you guys really like to see everything from the visual perspective as well and it's been very important for us to give people a true experience on a larger level. programs above and beyond, I understand and another question from uh, I don't have the previous name.
Oh yes, you talked about this. Above and Beyond has been moving more towards a deeper sound recently, especially with Tony's deep sets. Can we expect an album to be released beyond that? about andrew nadeep in the near future I don't think bontes will have anyone who will accept it, we're fine a question from and the last question from evergreen cactus which song from today's set was the most fun to record in the difficult studio, it's a very good one question I have to say which of the remixes we played, Tom Middleton's flight to New York, like he made an amazing remix and, to me, the best remixes are when it doesn't sound like a remix, it really sounds like a song and He had taken it to a place where I didn't even realize the song could exist and then he sent us the basics and we did a slightly harder version for this set and, uh, and for me it was just a It was really nice to get something I didn't expect to exist and then feel really inspired by it.
I remember writing on my way to heaven in my cycling shorts. I biked to the studio and it was raining and I couldn't. go home, which is one of the lines in the song, so I put this amazing piece of music on that jono written and just blah, blah, blah, for an hour waiting for the rain to stop and I didn't expect any of those letters will end. on the record and John, I was like, yeah, I really like that, I really like that, so it was fun because I was, yeah, I was just really fighting in lycra, guys, thank you so much for answering this question for the set crazy tonight It was a great honor to have you in the circle.
I must also thank the entire production team who worked very, very hard to make this show and the one that happens in just a few minutes. Down happens so big. even dan and ace and armor and also to the local production team karim and his team and also to our Mexican producers at ranning and his team thank you very much to them because it was extremely difficult to produce this one I must say um you I will see some behind the scenes images, uh , and Matthew Alexey and Mikhail say it to me and to me and to me, thank you, yes, thank you if I need to thank the whole team.
It will be very long, but I will try very hard for your next show. Maybe if you deserve it, ask me, how did you get dad to go up the stairs? There is a small zip line, yes, that supports up to one hundred kilos and, thanks to this, we could use it. that yes, yes, we should use this, uh, so thanks to this and it was working correctly, thanks to this we managed to bring all the pa, uh, there is also a small gift, the mystery box, which, um, is acake? it's not a case it's um it's something very um like very from here in this region it offers it here you can open the box it's what it offers visit medellin which is the tourist office of medellin and it's a very very nice set of coffee cups with also coffee from here, which is amazing, great lovers, oh that's good and they look really beautiful.
