The marketing claims some even wilder prices and I'm finally going to take a deep dive into the Ali abd keyboard to see if you should think about considering it, but first I want to know how they're trying to sell this because it's a really important core. So let's look at the marketing, yeah if you don't know who Ali Abdall is, he's a YouTube productivity specialist, former doctor and book writer, but I also hear he sells courses so let me take a look at them. very fast so his class is like a dollar, that's not a big deal wait, what is this?

More Interesting Facts About,

Okay, I don't see a dollar sign, let me get to 000 for a course, which you might as well pay, no, you're kidding, I'm in the wrong Niche. I've been doing this wrong my whole life. If you want me to take one of these courses so you don't have to, leave a comment and subscribe because I will. I'll spend five thousand dollars. so you don't have to. Now I'm crazy, expensive courses aside, they

just

released a keyboard and that puts Square in my domain. If you don't know who I am. Hi, I'm a tech hippot and I test keyboards, so you.

In fact, it's not necessary that in the last two years I have tested over 300 mechanical keyboards and the only thing I can think of is why a guy who makes $1,000 courses has a business building a C keyboard. Well, he says that It's because he's a productivity expert. and obviously keyboards make you more productive, some of them, why did he release a keyboard? So I'm going to dig into their marketing before looking at their keyboard to see if this is all just a scam or a cash grab. Why is it a type of productivity? enter the keyboards and for that let's go to your website hello friends, hello, this website that you are in light mode is a new technology and productivity brand that I have been building for the last 18 months, wait, wait, wait, like this that he has been building. the brand for 18 months, let's put aside that I wanted to create a technology and productivity accessories brand that has good technology, equipment and accessories to use that really makes the experience of working, studying or building a business or whatever more fun , that's true, that's why I'm like a keyboard evangelical, for example, a really nice touch and, wait for it, tactile, remember he said it's a tactile experience.

Could we build a really cool keyboard that

made

the typing experience feel so small? a little better, okay, I like The Branding here and the claim is that it built a very nice keyboard that will improve your typing experience. Let's think about that as we look at the keyboard, the best typing experience I've personally used. Really sad, I want to get you a better keyboard. Let's send direct messages. Let's work on this. Everything we produce will be aimed at sort of the mid-range of the market, so it's not trying to be cheap. You can connect the keyboard to any device you want using our beautiful braided USBC cable, they braided the cable and overall it is a really beautiful and pleasant tactile standby.
He calls it touch again and it's light enough to take wherever he wants to go so this board is going to be really light but also. Feel good, maybe they just put foam in it and didn't like any other extra weights or something. Oh yeah, that was the intro video. However, I also found other interesting things on Tik Tok and Instagram. I wanted to tell you today. launching a new tech brand that I've been building for the last 12 months, didn't he literally say that he spent 18 months building this brand? Let's review the last 18 months. Okay, let me play this real quick. the last 12 months, what happened to the 6 months, Olli, what happened, where did they go.
We're trying to create the best set of productivity tools in technology in the world and now that's a wild claim, these are the best tools for productivity, now the other things. He was actually quite touchy about it, he said, this might feel good, this might help you write, but now it's called the best productivity tools, it's fundamentally a productivity brand, now I understand you're calling this a productivity brand. productivity because it's a productivity expert, but at first glance I don't really see anything about this keyboard that will make you more productive. I'll talk about that much later, but I'm already incredibly skeptical that we would want to position this as a very reasonable and affordable mid-range keyboard by doing that, you've also inadvertently put yourself against any other budget offering because if the offering budget provides a better experience for potentially half the price, it has one big problem and that might be something we run down the road I want to get my hands on this keyboard ASAP.
However, there was a problem when you first launched this keyboard. It wasn't actually available in the US. I had to get my way. I just had to call a certain Brit. Dude Cherry MX Browns Cherry MX Browns Cherry MX Brown okay, that was easy, this is what I'm going to do with it first. I'm going to determine if it's a good product, then I'm going to determine if it's priced fairly, and then I want to know if it will make me more productive, and ultimately, if you try it, we'll also compare it to all of their other marketing claims and a couple of others. cheap keyboards because I really don't think this is medium. -Rango and I'll tell you why later, yes, now with the keyboard in my hands I was experiencing simultaneous fear and excitement, now fear because I really hate this thing that I'm destroying with a YouTuber product and a lot of people really love it. that YouTuber and the excitement because I can destroy a YouTuber's product anyway, hey hippo, you're going to say it's terrible right now, no, Alfred.
I just started unboxing. I have to give it a fair chance. I mean, you poured 18 or 12 months of work into this, you're going to say it's terrible right now, no. That's right, but now you're going to say it's terrible, no, Alfred, go back to your dungeon. One thing I won't throw away is the packaging on it because it's surprisingly nice. with one of those nice slick boxes, the manual makes a lot of sense and has all the macros you could ever need and there are a few accessories except. I guess one of the highlights is the braided cable.
You know, I

made

fun of it. They braided the cable, they braided the cable, but hey, it's good to move on to the keyboard itself, it comes in two different colors, cobalt blue and coral orange. Now I'm not really sure how it will make me more productive, but the gradient keys are very pretty, so I'm going to give it a point for that, but what's not pretty is the fact that they call these keys Caps or this keyboard the pinnacle of ergonomics. Now I've been known to make some memes about ergonomics, but Well, there's nothing that stands out about the ergonomics of this keyboard, like it's okay if you just want to make a basic keyboard, but don't make the claim talking about claims, this thing is completely plastic, which I sometimes claim to hate, although plastic can be good, so we'll put it to the test later.
Oh, what's that called? The plastic is very cheap and reminds me of a cheap keyboard. Well, okay, this thing is probably really affordable and really cheap, and um, wait. I'm kidding right now, it's not the most expensive thing out there, but it starts at 15$59, which is really amazing when you compare it to similar things, like the first thing that comes to mind is the Kyron V2 Max, which already It costs around 60 dollars. cheaper or the wiir sk71 60 dollars cheaper and it has 2.4 GHz, sorry, can you tell me the difference between these two keyboards? Oh, it costs between $50 and $100, this one I can't, I can't even do this with a straight face.
I feel like it's a little crazy now that its key design is gorgeous. I'll give you that, but what do you mean it's basically the same case as an RK 68, a gk68, and any other budget keyboard? And I mean, you spent 18 months building this. maybe because you really like the YouTuber, but I really hope the YouTuber does more for you and then makes a mediocre tech product, huh, so I'm already starting to question the 18 or 12 months of design that went into this, because that? Did you design it now? Maybe there's something under the hood when I take this apart that will really surprise me, so I wanted to go ahead and weigh it to see H.
Maybe it'll be nice and light for travel and oh, don't look at the scale. I use the baking scale for baking some people see Ali Abdall being productive other people bake now admittedly it's light but actually a little heavier than I expected for reference a keyboard made entirely of aluminum is about a pound heavier , but even more disconcerting, the low-f freestream, which is also all aluminum, is lighter. I also want to say this is just a side tangent, it's probably much better for productivity and much more premium for the exact same price. I still really like those boards, I use them all the time, so this mystery is starting to get a little deeper because is it just a keyboard to earn cash or is it a productivity tool that he actually cares about progressing? from the future?
True, I may be incredibly disappointed, but it's not exactly a bad keyboard now, it doesn't have any gasket support and it's missing a lot of enthusiast features that you can get for cheaper, but it does what it says on the tin. a keyboard and feels relatively good, which we'll talk about more soon. This bottom design really reminds me of the kedus NJ 68, however there are some differences so I can't exactly say it's the same OEM but it definitely used one of China's standard partners to make keyboards, however something that relatively cool to see are these Gatons, what I think are 3 pro yellows, these are definitely the highlight of the board as they are an incredibly smooth factory lubricated linear switch.
The Gaton yellows have arrived. Over the last few years it has gone from being a switch that you needed to lubricate to just being a really good switch. The stabilizers are fine too, but no, and that's definitely a sad sight. I'm not sure why you would choose north facing LEDs. If you didn't have glossy keycaps, that just shows that they probably didn't do their research, but like I said before, these switches definitely have the build that feels very nice to type on and these daubed keycaps are relatively thick. So, its typing experience isn't fantastic, but it's definitely much better than a basic gaming keyboard or a basic Dell keyboard.
Now the stabilizers are Factory Lube, so he has that going for him and wait, why won't the board light up? let me look at the manual real quick ok it says fnr oh I had to factory reset it that's good now the Epic Gamer RGB is a nice touch we've always loved we love the Epic Gamer RGB here now in just a minute . I'm going to take this whole keyboard apart and I'm going to try to figure out if I can see any clues as to where this keyboard came from but first how it sounds original but that's not the worst thing because I haven't taken it apart yet and in general with custom keyboards , a lot of the important stuff happens inside, now okay, like it sounds like you'd expect, maybe for about half the price because it's just a cheap plastic shell, you're not. getting exactly the best sounds ever and this leaves me wondering if Ali was procrastinating when he made this board and was not productive because the disassembly of this keyboard is absolutely horrible.
You have to lift these clips up and these are the tightest clips. I've seen it on a keyboard before. It has never been more difficult for me to open a keyboard. I had other work I needed to do. I needed to file my taxes or, oh God, oh, okay, I guess because he's charging a medium price for this, obviously. I filled it with foam or moisturizing materials or something to improve your writing experience because you really want to be productive while writing on this, so he put foam in it, oh my gosh, BR. I have never seen this before in my entire life well it has an internal weight, they glued metal weights on top of the case, the most notable thing is that you will not see foam on this keyboard at all, now the foam is not a part essential of the construction of a keyboard and is totally preferential, but I can't.
Imagine leaving it on a cheap keyboard like this because it doesn't help your case at all. Now I wanted to try to take it apart.to see if I could see any manufacturer's marks or something. Now I found a brand for an IFD 68 which is a keyboard that came out in about 2018, but that didn't really lead to anything else. Finally, I trolled Alibaba to try to find a similar board that maybe just used the OEM to customize it and definitely made it as close to clean as possible. What I could find was the Kus NJ 68 which is eerily similar to maybe this is what he used, the only difference I could find was that the switch location on the back is here instead of here, that's a fairly minor detail, but still enough for me not to call it the same board in any way.
It's really very strange that you worked 16 months or 12 months or whatever to build a keyboard and what you did was the shipping time. Everything was just shipping time. There are a lot of things missing here that literally any other keyboard would offer. Foams maybe. If you don't want foams, anything else might be good, maybe not just random bricks. You're probably wondering, hippo, why you're so upset about this, and honestly, for me it's about the fact that he's trying to appeal to an audience that knows. nothing about keyboards, but with a sense of authority as a productivity expert, he is essentially selling them a tech product that is worse than what they could get with a little research, but because of his authority, he is trying to get them not to do the research and To me , that feels a little gross.
I mean, there's a reason I haven't made my own keyboard yet. If I ever make a hippo keyboard, my channel will be over because it will be the best keyboard you could ever cut. and take it out of context because if I ever release a keyboard that sucks in any way, ultimately I see no reason why I can recommend this keyboard to you now if it's perfectly fine, but so are a lot of other keyboards that are cheaper or Providing you with more value just because something is good doesn't necessarily mean you should get it and that's okay.
