When we found a spot we were very happy but it took us a long time to find one and also there are some towns and cities with ordinances that say no overnight parking so you should keep in mind we actually made a video about some great RV overnight stays that you can stay in so definitely check out that video in the link below so I just saw the perfect place to camp. Then I was looking at this Tick Tock and this place was absolutely beautiful, they were alone. It was very beautiful, it was very serene and it makes me think that when you go out, all the camps look like this, all the camps look like this, good bad, now of course not all camps are beautiful despite what you can see on social media and many actually are. very busy and if it's a new campground there may not be any trees at all, that doesn't mean the campsites aren't beautiful, there are a lot of amazing campsites but you don't always see what's there especially if you look at them. different social media platforms, although sometimes we are showing some of those beautiful scenes in front of us because that's what we want to portray compared to where it actually is in the Walmart parking lot, just kidding, amazing weather, all the sunrises and sunsets, you know?
9 huge lies about living in a camper van nobody talks about rv life
We all enjoy a good sunrise and sunset when you live in a caravan, at some point in your life you will encounter bad weather and I'm talking about situations where for us we had a hail storm and I'm talking about hail that could actually damage your solar panels break your windows damage your house on wheels and go even further like tornadoes they always tell you to reach the furthest reach the lowest point go to the basement well, you don't have the basement of your mobile home, go to the bathroom never It's a problem, well, if you live in a class A where nine times out of ten you'll be in a campground, it probably won't be a problem, but if you're in a small caravan, well, that's a different story, right, no, it's right, first of all, we don't really poop on our deck, so we're always looking, we're on the road, we're looking for places, you know? rest areas or other vending restaurants or things like that, we actually go in and use the bathroom, if we're out of town, we'll set up our kind of tent, yeah, for a little port-a-potty or a port-a-potty, yeah, that It's not the most pleasant experience either, but it makes you feel a lot better not having to do it within your team.

Yes, you will live in harmony with nature. You know, one of the things Dave and I really enjoy is being in nature. go on hikes and see some of the beautiful creatures that exist like bald eagles or bears, uh, foxes, wolves like in Yellowstone, and it's a beautiful sight to see, but it's a very interesting place when you have little critters, I'm talking about spiders. Unfortunately I've had mice, we have two kittens as you know so they don't stand a chance no matter how much I vacuum or keep things clean it's a place for them to come enjoy spiders all the time and remember once almost I had a black widow there that was very scary, very scary, so you know you have to understand that you won't always be able to keep nature out of your deck, as long as you know that from the beginning, you can start. getting ready for this early oh wait oh oh Dave right here you're going to take these amazing outdoor showers in stunning locations with unlimited water.
I think that's kind of magical, now we're kind of lucky because our rig has a 50 gallon freshwater tank, but still, if we both showered all the time, we'd get out of the water so fast that the reality is that the water It's very limited, yeah, and if you're looking to shower outside of your van, some rigs are actually set up so you can enjoy an outdoor shower, whereas it might be very difficult to find a private place to do it and, uh, really You don't want to take a shower with all your neighbors watching, there are no problems with extreme temperatures, just follow the weather. to moderate conditions.
You see people living in their Camper vans during the summer and really enjoying all the beauty around them, but what you don't see is that many times during those summer months the extreme heat can be really difficult. a motorhome, unless you live in the mountains, right, no, it's very true, extreme heat is very hard on motorhomes, you are trying to maintain a good temperature, the sun hits the top, the air conditioning is working very hard, the batteries are running out. quickly, yes, and if you have pets, you need to be even more attuned to the temperatures inside your rig and that can be difficult, especially if you don't have a proper monitoring system, so I think as a suggested point, just get a adequate temperature monitoring system. which you can monitor from your phone or just make sure you don't stray too far from your platform and stay close to those four legged beauties like my four legged beauties looking at me right now hi Mary hi Mimi now in cold weather it's a very different situation, a game very difficult, yes, and you would have to make sure your pipes don't freeze because there isn't much insulation in most RVs, so it's very easy for those pipes to freeze when the temperature drops below freezing , Yeah. and if you see us showering on our rig in the freezing cold it's because I can really handle it, maybe yours can't but I was a kid, RV living is cheap now we know some van users can live incredibly cheap but for many from us RV Life and living in a motorhome is not cheap at all, no it is not, in fact the maintenance costs to be added can also take a toll on you, especially in the RV and van life, and know that this is going to happen.
Make it happen, it will happen all the time because this is your house on wheels, so think of a house that moves, there will always be something that comes up, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, I just think you have to be crafty. so you don't spend 80% of your time in the tent and speaking of costs, if you are going to say camping in campgrounds, just know that the price of many campgrounds has increased quite a bit due to the number of vehicles now on the road today and obviously the cost of living everywhere has increased and we've actually made a video highlighting all the costs we've spent over the past year, yes, and you can see it in the description box below, yes, it's the full breakdown of the true cost of living in a full-time RV.
You know everything is always perfectly planned in RV life. Now the reality of living in a campervan is that many times your future in terms of where you will stay, maybe next night, next week or next month, may not be planned at all correctly, so you constantly you're trying to figure out where we're going to go next, where we're going next and things aren't always well oiled, no they're not, and as long as you know that from the beginning you'll be perfectly fine and here's a very important point that You know, despite the challenges we've faced living in our motorhome, we love it.
We have definitely been living in RVs full time for over a year and it has been an amazing experience, yes, because of the people you meet, the places you go and the memories you will make.
