75 Game Changing Minecraft Updates

Jun 05, 2021
Minecraft has some really cool features, but some of those features are absolutely

game

-

changing

. These are the types of

updates

that are introduced to the

game

, some of them big, some of them small, that made the game a totally different gaming experience, so in today's video I will take a look at my selection and remember that I I love Redstone, so there's a bit of bias here anyway. This video will be chronological and we will start from the beginning. Survival test. This is the update that Minecraft took. from being a simple block-based building game to what is today a survival experience where you have to gather resources to build cool things in your world. infinite terrain generation originally, when the game was first developed the world sizes were finite, it only existed until now you could reach before reaching a world border, then in inf dev that all changed and terrain generation was introduced infinite, which gives us these endless

minecraft

pits that we have today, brick pyramids originally much larger than these brick pyramids generated with a 64 by 64 base. so they were absolutely huge and were the first naturally generated structure in Minecraft.

Now the reason for them was because there was no way to get bricks in Minecraft, so the intention was to give you a good supply, it's so ridiculous. and sadly they didn't stick around for long anyway, the Nether didn't really have much to do when it was first introduced, but it gave us the opportunity to quickly travel between locations because for every block traveled in the Nether, you travel. eight blocks on the overworld multiplayer servers in

minecraft

alpha. Added the ability to play online so you could play with your friends. I mean, it was a total buggy mess.

More Interesting Facts About,

75 game changing minecraft updates...

It really was horrendous. Biomes were introduced. I know we take beautiful Minecraft for granted. landscape and variety we had originally that wasn't the case, you would generate the world and it would be a grassy world or it would be a snowy world and it wouldn't change the redstone dust and redstone torches. I really had no idea about it. was introduced so early in Minecraft development that it was added in Minecraft alpha, now there really wasn't much to interact with so for the most part people just created boolean logic systems and tinkered with latches, the ability to sneak another one that was introduced in Minecraft alpha and can you imagine playing without it?

It would be a horrible, terrible, frustrating experience to just keep falling. Next, we have beds introduced in beta 1.2. Originally, all they did was let you spend the night, which is great. but nothing too innovative, but then in beta 1.6 they got the functionality of setting your spawn point, meaning you can join a world, go exploring, find a place to set up camp and stay there, a game changer, soft lighting, this may seem strange to those who haven't played Minecraft since the early days, but the original lighting engine was pants, I mean look at it, it's really not pretty when they added soft lighting, it improved the game on about 300 bones to some of you, it may seem a little insignificant, but you have to understand that these were the first steps that were taken towards the automation and acceleration of farming in Minecraft.

It's a big deal to whitelist servers without this little command here. I don't think servers like the Hermitcraft server can exist. It is extremely important. one and it's really very small and simple pistons in minecraft beta 1.7 these little things were introduced after the community got really excited about a mod that introduced pistons. Now, this was the first time in vanilla Minecraft, Redstone components can actually alter the environment. They and these little guys essentially started the Redstone community because suddenly there was a reason to build complex flint and steel circuits for tnt, another brilliant change in beta 1.7, the fact that you needed a flint and steel or redstone power to power up tnt, you could It no longer ignites with hits which is great because before you couldn't remove the TNT, once it was placed it was going to explode even if you tried to break it it would ignite and explode.
I'm really glad that's gone anyway. Baker 1.8 Food System for anyone who played Minecraft in the early days, you'll remember this hot bar from when you went to dungeons and stuff with no food stacked and it was only used to replenish your health in 1.8, then we got the food bar and a system much smarter than it ran before beta 1.8 this is the speed at which we travel through our minecraft worlds and this is how far we jump it's not exactly exciting it's the village forts and the mine shafts these were the first large scale natural spawn structures that were introduced in Minecraft and gave players a very good reason to explore the huge upgrade creative mode before it was introduced, you had to mod or mine to do crazy things either way it was a bit of a pain in the backend creative mode is great leaving the betas behind We now have the first full release of Minecraft Enchanting.
Can you believe that at one point this was the pinnacle of Minecraft mining speed? This is the fastest we could get there. I can't think of anything worse, the Ender Dragon. Controversial upon release because for certain people in the community it gave an end to a game whose charm came from the fact that it did not have a final front-facing camera until Minecraft 1.0, the official release. This is the only third person camera we had that there was none of this action, I mean can you imagine YouTube videos if they started like this, everyone just do it?
It seems a little rude, animal husbandry, the ability to raise two animals together and actually have animal farms in the game. Well yeah, it was a total game changer before these animals showed up in Despawn, there was no real way to do anything with them, brewing potions, even though I'm not a big potion user, I can't help but admit that they did. It's a big deal, I mean even just for the fire resistance, the fact that you can sit and wash for eight minutes without taking damage is worth something that Mob spawn x introduced in Minecraft 1.1.
I'm honestly not sure what we did before we had spawnx. I mean, how do we generate things? We did? What did we really do? The super flat world, another 1.1, the test world was born, a world free of distractions, so you could do things with it. That said, the sandstone version wasn't introduced until minecraft 1.4.2 the iron golem and I'm serious when I say this, I really don't think minecraft would be where it is today without this guy right here you see technical servers and people building ridiculous things They need a lot of iron and these guys are usually the ones who provide trade with villagers.
Introducing Minecraft 1.3, it was the first time we had anything transactional in the game. Some would say that's a pretty big difference from previous versions. Ender Chests out of nowhere, just out of left field. Mojang drops this. It's a way to store your items securely, no one else can access them and you can access them anywhere in the world as long as you have an ender chest with you. I mean, it's a total game changer. Dispensers do dispensary things. You see, I'm sure many of you dispensers do this type of thing. It's totally reasonable. I mean, that's exactly what dispensers do, but that hasn't always been the case.
In fact, dispensers used to behave like droppers until dispensers became dispensers and then. They had to introduce droppers later because people said, well, you know, the old dispenser functionality was pretty useful too. What if you just wanted to dispense a bucket of lava without it going everywhere, standing on the redstone front, even though the upside down slabs have redstone? on top of them may seem quite boring now, but at that time, this red stone completely revolutionized making many circuits much smaller, faster and better in all aspects, being able to place any red stone component on top of a transparent block, the ability to cheat before Minecraft. 1.3 this little dialogue down here didn't exist, it didn't exist, so, for example, if you wanted to set the time, you couldn't, you had to get a bed, you had to sleep in it and that would allow time to pass.
Come on, there was no way to do simple commands in single player in Minecraft 1.4 now and we have beacons, I mean, these have to be in the top 10, right in terms of Minecraft gameplay changes? I mean, I remember when they were added and We found out that you could use efficiency five and haze two to get insta mine and it was like the minds of the entire community just exploded collectively with the skeletons. Minecraft's first boss was actually a useful reward for going through the grind of the fight. He was also a player who could come back and gave a reason to inferior strengths that were previously just things that looked pretty.
Anvils as cool as they were lovely, he was totally luck based, there wasn't really too much skill, while anvils meant you had to do it. be strategic, you had to think things through and it was a big upgrade selection block, how the hell did I survive in Minecraft without this feature? I mean, gosh, it's probably the button I click the most on my mouse to be honest with you, the ability to sneak around and put things in containers and stuff, I mean we take it for granted now because it seems so simple, but this It didn't used to be a thing, it used to be a real test to be able to do that, you just have to do it. this place on some vines and then you can place your button on a survival mode nightmare the command block.
I don't really think I have to say anything about this one, I'm talking about what map makers did before the command block existed. Another game rule command that I can't imagine living without is this one. I mean, I have a lot of fire in my redstone gadgets. I build them out of the world a lot. Did they just catch fire or in Minecraft 1.4? was replaced with this, I mean, probably a little more realistic, you probably wouldn't say, oh, if you just jumped out of a tree, you'd just hear the sound of your knees being completely destroyed, but I still think the old noise is a bit. a little more charming, the hopper moved on to one of my favorite

updates

, now Minecraft 1.5, the Redstone update, the hopper was a total game changer.
I'd say it's in the top three biggest gameplay changes in Minecraft because it was the first time we had a choice. collecting items in minecraft and transporting them within a component, afk farming was finally possible anyway, the next redstone block is equally exciting because it is the first mobile energy block we had in minecraft, nothing else had happened before that trap chests in themselves, actually that's not it. exciting, but when I realized that you could place them next to normal chests and they wouldn't interact with each other, they suddenly became very exciting because I could double the size of my storage systems in the same amount of space, the inventory overhaul , all this intelligently. things like being able to hold down the right click button, being able to hold down the left click button, restacking everything, that was all introduced in this update beforehand, there was a lot of action going on, oh it's a nightmare, Redstone becomes analogical.
You see Minecraft 1.5, the Redstone update was a big deal because it was the first time you had Redstone components that could output anything more than a signal strength of 15, for example, comparators came out and gave variable outputs depending on the input, which which made things very very interesting without 1.5 technically, Minecraft wouldn't be where it is today. Cauldrons in Minecraft 1.6. The update after the Redstone update there was a small update on Cauldrons. It was very small in the patch notes, in fact it went quite unnoticed, but it was huge. The delivery cauldrons were able to give comparison outputs and the cauldrons can be moved by pistons, which means that we have a block that is not an energy block but that can emit energy that is mobile, big, big deal, they changed a lot of labels of names when they were introduced, I wasn't really that excited about them until I realized that if you rename something in your world, it will never go away, meaning players can store mobs that will stay there forever or even if you catch a rare mob, you can rename it. and know that it is safe and will never go away.
Packaged ice. I mean, I'm sure before its introduction we had normal ice and could use it as currents.ice water to transport items quickly, but there was one big problem. The ice melts. Packaged ice is not updated. fishing fishing in Minecraft is quite boring. I think Mojang knew this and tried to improve it in Minecraft 1.7 by adding rare things you could catch, but instead they accidentally created fish farms which totally changed the game because you can get the best enchanted ones. books in one night slime blocks when slime blocks were first added they were cool they were interesting you could bounce entities but they weren't exactly a game changer then functionality to join them together was introduced and suddenly we had moving structures that They were a great deal, I tell you what else is important, the depth strider.
I always forget how awesome the depth strider is until I have the depth strider and remember how slow it is to walk normally in water. I'd say Dempstrander makes the game have around 35 best harvesting villagers. crops for a long time, it was impossible for us to fully automate these farms, you had to go back, you had to replant them every time, it was horrible until the villagers came, harvested everything and automated the whole process. f3 and n introduced in Minecraft 1.9 and barely mentioned anywhere, f3 and n allow you to switch between creative mode and spectator mode, something I use probably about 100 times a day when working on Redstone gadgets, especially if they are super compact, the catch elite, this is another one that I feel like I don't need to talk about, I mean, clearly, this is a complete game changer, like a total game changer, although when it was first introduced it wasn't as useful as Currently, I'll move on to that usage double.
Can you believe this was controversial? People started talking about this when it was announced that it wasn't Minecraft enough. Personally I think it's the most Minecraft thing ever and it's brilliant, but I. tell you what they started about more combat changes, you can't spam anymore and I mean, I've said this a bunch of times and I stand by it. In fact, I quite like the change. I think it makes sense that there would be some kind of cooldown instead of just being like that, but that said, no pvp guys, so don't listen to me, they finally fixed the ships for a long time.
The ships were a disaster, they were totally horrible, they broke down all the time. not using them, okay you would have to have an inventory full of them if you go on an expedition, they finally fixed them, the repairing charm look, there have been a few of these in the video, do I need to say anything else? mend with charm is the best enchantment in the game if I don't have any mend then I feel like I'm doing something wrong minecraft 1.10 I tried I tried I tried to find a gamechanger and um nothing minecraft 1.11 shulker boxes I think it's safe to say they made up for Minecraft 1.10 with the first introduction of Minecraft 1.11 being these little things that store items inside a storage container that you can pick up, drop, dispense and carry with you, crazy watchers, oh my god this.
It was a nice update, wasn't it for us Redstone folks? I mean, there are a lot of reasons why the spotter is one of the best blocks in the game, it's in everything and just enhances the fireworks rockets. Now I must clarify that they were not. They were introduced in Minecraft 1.11, but they were given the functionality to repel you when you fly with elytra, which is about the best thing there is in Minecraft 1.12 now and now we're concrete. This may not seem like a big game changer until you realize how different it is. Concrete is like the rest of the blocks in Minecraft, they are very bright, very saturated and their texture is almost completely flat.
Added saved toolbars to the creative menu and I think this might be in my top 10, I mean the ability to just pick up a red stone. toolbar and I just have everything I need there with the push of a button and then I say, for example, I need my colored concrete. I can press other buttons, I mean, it's what we did before this and another one I can't remember. What we did before, the crafting book, all I know is that it involved going to a lot of Wikipedia pages to look up various crafting recipes. This is much better, especially for people who are just starting out with bubble lifts.
This is the first mojang supported. The item lifter in Minecraft before this came out, all the previous ones depended on bugs and strange behavior with items getting stuck inside blocks and whatnot, so it was very welcome, plus the waterlogging of blocks not only makes certain redstone gadgets and farms smaller. because you don't need to have a block under water sources, but it also makes building things underwater look really cool in the past, they didn't really complete the villager trade overhaul. Minecraft 1.14 completely changed the way villages and hamlets work and after adapting to I really like it a lot, there's a lot to think about, it has a lot of depth, there are all sorts of different variables you have to worry about and it leads to a really interesting gaming experience.
Redstone can be placed on glass, okay, so call it. A game changer may be a little far off, but OMG it looks great. This is the first time we've seen a horde-based challenge in Minecraft with increasing levels and difficulty - not necessarily a game-changer in and of itself, but I imagine it is. We'll see more of this in the future crawl, I mean come on, how cool is this. Being able to crawl under things is a Minecraft feature that I never thought I needed until they introduced it and now I love the ability to Dry Sponges, as you may or may not know, I'm not the biggest fan of sponges.
I just find it frustrating that you have to dry them in an oven. Well they fixed that in Minecraft 1.15 in the first snapshot, now you can dry sponges in the lower mega huh that's weird we're at 74 and I listed 75 I must have forgotten one oh no I thought I might forget one of the most important, right? Give me a second. I can't believe I forgot. It's really very important bats, how could I have forgotten about bats? one of the biggest changes in Minecraft, I mean they make noise, they fly, there's no way to get rid of them easily, they're very loud, there's no way to stop them from spawning.
They're great, oh fantastic, so here we go, ladies and gentlemen. I really hope you enjoyed this video where I talk about some of my favorite game-

changing

upgrades in Minecraft. Let me know in the comments section if there are any changes to the game. Personally I think it should have been featured, I'm sure you would have already, but anyway I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you in the next video. See you, well I have to say it's going to be fun to edit, I mean it was. It was a lot of fun to record, it was a fun concept to play with.
I really enjoyed writing the ideas. My notebook is full of game-changing elements, with crosses, stars on the side, everything like that. It was great editing, editing, no, maybe not so much. cool 160 clips oh
