mistakes

involved that I've seen in plenty of other people. do

when

I ride a

hardtail

bike

so I'm going to pick all the ones that are most common and I do them too so I'm going to show you guys free of these and give you some tips on how to do them. To eliminate all these errors, let's do it. One of the biggest

mistakes

you can make is having the wrong body position

when

crushing one of these hard tails.

I have seen a lot. I've seen many cyclists as stiff as a rake. Yes, it's true, everyone rides very stiff, a little nervous or what's coming, because you're

riding

in a hotel, you can feel every bump in the trail, you want to be a little more extravagant when you're

riding

a

hardtail

, you want to let it go . move your

bike

you want to let your body move around that bike you want to dance on it because you're actually dancing on a trail because you feel every bump up there especially when you're riding a hardtail so the best way to make your body to move around that bike, lowering the saddle as low as possible will help your body move much, much better around the four quadrants of your bike at the front.

I have 140 ml of travel for every 400. There are a million problems here in my arm, so you want to use your arms as much as possible to absorb all the impacts. Then it gets a little hard in front of you, you want to let your body bounce a lot, you look. Go ahead, locate your line, take all that and work your body, trust me, you're going to work and it's going to pay off, especially when you're riding a tough trail, when it comes to braking on a hardtail it's pretty tough because you're going to try to find grip, especially when it's a difficult section and look at this, this is like curves.

The bank corners up to here are quite steep and quite technical, so to brake on this you won't want to brake. on the hard stuff because you're not going to have enough stopping power, you're not going to slow down enough because your rear wheels are going to bounce all over the place, you're going to lose grip, especially when the rocks get wet, it's going to get terribly slippery and you can't slow down, so you have to brake before all this and then you want to apply the brakes as you go through these sections, but what you want is to find these little pockets of little grippy areas where you can grab the brakes. a little bit to slow you down a little bit, but that's not what I mean, not grab, but you want to modulate it, you want to go in a little bit to slow you down a lot quicker, so this is pretty difficult, yeah, so you'll be moving through this.

I know you're slowing down, but then you look, there's a nice patch of terrain that's pretty smooth. You can grip the brakes a lot harder to slow down faster, so I'll slow down a lot more here and then stop a little bit. I just keep hitting the brakes through this rough section and then when you get to this part here, look at it nice and smooth. I can hit the brakes a little bit harder here if I'm going too fast, I slow down and then it gradually gets softer along the way, so brake with a super key when our hard tail you don't want to break up and the rough, thick bits because we don't will work, your rear wheels will bounce everywhere you're not going to slow down. so it's about finding these little braking packages.
Pat breaking putts, so this is the biggest mistake that a lot of people make and that's not using the full potential of the hotel and that's generating a lot more speed gaining a There's a lot more flow on the trail and that's pumping when you're riding a seat like a trail like this, right, yes, you can just go down a small hill that you can gradually roll down like a Sunday afternoon, but incorporating that pump to hardtail technique is the most efficient way to gain more speed on the way, so you have a roller right here.
I can go through and I can pump this, let it slide and then look at this, some would think it's a jump. People would like to make you think they could throw that, but it's not going to give you much more speed, so what you want to do is pump this, you want to pass, suck that hump with the bike, lift the bike. on you, spin and pump as much as you can because this thing is the king of pumping correctly, humble heart says the best way to get maximum power in those wheels, why do you think all MXC racers use hard tails because It's the most efficient way to transfer that power to those wheels, but it's also the perfect way to climb, but when the time comes, there are some mistakes that people really make when climbing with a hardtail and that's body position. on the bike, especially when it gets a little steep and the terrain is quite slippery.
If you lose grip on the rear wheels because you're standing with all your weights in front, you want to get maximum grip on this, so you want to sit on that. saddle, but when you sit on that saddle, all of your body weight falls on the rear wheels, so the front wheel starts to lift, so you have to find the perfect middle, so you're putting a lot more weight in the rear. but you want to drop your shot, you want to drop your body, your torso, bending your elbows, bringing your body weight to the front so you can put weight on the back, but keep that front down, the next one is not really a mistake.
I can't say that trust is a mistake. I think the mistake we're going to discuss is questioning your abilities. Can I go through this rough section? Thinking about when you get to it. I don't know what Jim did. no you don't want to do that, you want to practice that skill, gain confidence before entering a section, be confident in what you have as a skill on a bike, confidence comes with time, the longer you ride, the longer you practice that skill , but even if it's climbing, going through a difficult section like this, doing big jumps, all that comes with confidence and all that comes with time, confidence comes with time, time is practice, practice builds confidence, It's all one big bond, so you have to have confidence in yourself and the

skills

you have to navigate your way through it by plowing and shooting a handy leather bull in a china shop; those are things you can't really do in difficult terrain. when it comes to difficult sections like rock gardens because my worst nightmare is rock gardens.
I hate them, I try to make them as soft as possible Chris, it's scary and horrible and I don't want to group up so you have to do it. find the softest line, so this is the line choice when it comes to riding a hardtail. I can see two lines, yeah, I'm going to point out the rough one because yeah, I'm looking for it first because I don't want to hit it. so there's a drop here it's some rocks yeah there's a pointy rock there that's pierced all over and you've got this whole rough section through this yeah so on a hardtail it's going to be rough no matter what when you try finding the smooth line is going to be a little rough but you will find the smoothest line, that's the key so I'm going to go way to the right, yeah I'm going to go through this section so I'm not actually going to do a drop. riding through this rocky section here I'm staying way to the right everything is smooth yeah and I'm trying to get over here and down the trail and try to make this whole trail as smooth as possible but this example works for wherever else they were. a bit of trail you want to try and find the smoothest line possible, don't pinch because at the end of the day it's not a race, has a quick example again of choosing lies, two lines, smooth line, rough line, unless If you're good at jumping, you can jump this little gap, if not, you want to have to roll it and that's hard, but look, this line here is smooth, so you want to stay to the right and then cut left too because it doesn't hit this drop on this tough section, yeah, so you're going from right to left and you're squaring off this turn here, which makes it a lot smoother, whereas if you go this way, look at that step, you're going to hit that drop over here.
Oh mess and your arms are going to move like this you don't want if you can't find smooth lines then you have to create smooth lines so you have to visualize smooth lines when you're setting up a trap take a look at this one I got here pretty quick and I thought wow and didn't I get introduced to this a little dip here pretty steep aggressively especially coming in really fast you have some roots that you're going to bounce on, you have that route there, you have these three that are pretty tiring for your pedals, you get the pedaling, That's dumb, that's dumb, so I want to make this stretch of trail a lot smoother, so I'm going in.
I know I have enough speed because it's a pretty fast trail through this section so I'm going to use this little rock jump pad and I'm pretty confident with my bunnyhop

skills

and now I can jump so what I'm going to do is jump this. Everything is smooth right after that fourth route and it makes this whole section much smoother. I want to prepare more on that right turn, so I'll jump from there potentially over that stump to the bench with the runners on the left. The left puts me on that right curve, smooths out that right curve a little faster.
Well, I sure hate rock gardens. I don't want the smooth line on the right to be punctured. The smooth thing is just walking through it, but that's it. No it's not like that, look at this lightning bolt, if I were on a full suspension bike that would mean a lot smoother but a lot of fun to ride a hardtail and there are some mistakes and what people actually do when they ride a hardtail, I hope they have helped you.
