Here's what you need to know. There are many people who have been laid off from their jobs or have left their jobs, have fallen on hard times and have decided to take up house cleaning because it seems like it is the quick money. I can jump. I can clean some houses. I can make a little money and get back on my feet. There are many people who jump into the home cleaning business and do not have any training.

They don't

want

you to know this, but when they come to bid on a job, you may be the first house they bid on. They don't necessarily know what they are doing. You need to know that. There are a number of questions you can ask them to qualify them, but as a homeowner, you need to rate your house cleaner. The next thing you should know about some house cleaners is that some of them have never passed a background check. There is no drug control. There is no background check. There is no verification of employment history. There is no thorough investigation that they are actually who they say they are, so you have to do your due diligence, because if you have a house cleaner that comes to your house and they are not insured and they are not trained, and they have not had drugs or a background check, and they're not who they say they are, you could be letting a perfect stranger into your home, and who knows what.

They have your alarm code. They have a house key. They know where you live. They see photographs of their family around their house. It's not cool. You really have to do your due diligence, and this is something that many house cleaners don't

want

you to know. Another thing house cleaners don't want you to know is that some of them don't actually know how to clean. This is a little crazy, but they come in and spray. What that means is they bring Febreze or Pine Sol and spray it into the air to make the house smell clean.
They're sitting around reading your books and doing other things, and they're not necessarily cleaning your house. It's great if you ask them for a checklist. Many professional house cleaners have a checklist. They will mark what they do. It is a guarantee of satisfaction. If a cleaning company comes to you and does not offer a satisfaction guarantee, walk away, because they do not guarantee the work. When you get home from work, you need to be able to see and know what they have done. A checklist helps you do this. Because if they come regularly and maintain everything, you may not necessarily notice it, but they have verified the things that they have done.
If they just come in and they're dusting some major items, and they're laying down some lines of rugs on the floor and spraying things into the air, you might be paying for a lot more than you are paying for. you're really getting it. Some house cleaners don't want you to know that they don't actually know how to clean at all. You need to have a checklist or something. Well. Another thing they don't want you to know is that many house cleaners eat your food. It's true. I hear all kinds of stories about house cleaners and it's a little scary that they eat some of your cold cereal and then shake the box so it doesn't look like they've run out of anything.
Or they will drink soda and things from your refrigerator. They might eat sandwiches or make things from your pantry or your kitchen because they're hungry and I don't know what, you know? But you need to have established rules that say this is my house. I have a budget for my purchases. I'm not going to prepare lunch here. It is necessary to have established rules. But some house cleaners don't want you to know that you're their meal ticket, so they'll come to your house, get some food, and make themselves some sandwiches. or ramen noodles or whatever, and then, hey, your purchases are their purchases.
Another thing house cleaners don't want you to know is that some of them are not confidential. They come to your house and while cleaning they see and hear things. They see that you have expired notices. Some of them check your email and then others hear you talking too much on the phone, they hear you fighting, and maybe you have late payments, or maybe you're cursing at someone and they know you're fighting and maybe you and your spouse don't get along. good. That's none of your business, but many house cleaners go and tell other people. "Oh, you won't believe what Mrs.
Jones did," and then they tell the neighbors. They are telling your neighbors about your personal affairs. They are not confidential at all. It is very important that when you hire a house cleaner, you have the trust of the person who will keep your family secrets. I'm not saying you should have big family secrets, but every family would like to keep some things private from the general public. They don't want things posted on Facebook. They don't want social media to know. They don't want their neighbors to know. These are personal, everyday things that you have a right to in your own privacy.
There are some house cleaners who don't know how to do that, so when a house cleaner comes to your house and offers you his contract and gives you a job estimate, listen to what he says. Are they talking about other houses they've cleaned? You could even give them a sign. Say, "Hey, tell me about one of your favorite houses." Then listen to the words and word choices they use. Are they talking about people in generic terms? "There is a family that is just an amazing family and this is what I like the most." "Oh, but there is a family," and listen to the words they say.
Are they bothering the neighbors? Are they ratting out the neighbors? Are they sharing information that shouldn't be shared? Just pay close attention to that. Those are five things that house cleaners don't want you to know and that you need to know before you hire a house cleaner, because many house cleaners, although they are not going to walk in and rob you blind, may not be the one. house cleaner right for you, right? You might be the next car payment or whatever. Be very careful about the house cleaners you hire, because there needs to be an industry standard and there isn't.
If I do my job right, we're going to try to get everyone on board, get everyone insured, get everyone trained, and get everyone playing on the same page and have boundaries and checklists and all that stuff. It's about creating consistency across the board so that as owners you don't go broke. Okay, I know this will make me very unpopular even among many of my friends, but it is important that as a homeowner you have this valuable information. Alright? I hope this helps a bit. If so, pass it on to a friend. Share it with your mommy and me groups.
Share it with your other Facebook groups. Until we meet again, leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.
