tape

that I have it's actually extra wide which can come in handy if you don't have it don't worry and it just helps you use less masking

tape

and masking tape at a time so Basically, what I have there is a piece of a newspaper and I started putting tape on top of them, as you can see I have duplicated it there and there is quite a bit of overlap, if you don't you will find that it will tear.

I'm just using a fingernail and you could use a ruler if you wanted to then put a little bit of water on the back and rub it and make sure it's clearly erased and what you'll find is the

stays there fantastic first door now the second one first I go let's put some color this is a tape that we use to stretch the paper just be careful as you can see mine is a little wet try and keep it dry if you buy it now what I'm going to do now is tear the tape and also some book pages in a variety of different sizes and lengths so that the rubber strip is called a bit like the back. of a card, let's say it has a shiny side and a dull side, you're going to glue it shiny side down, so once I started gluing that in there, I just have a piece of paper, I'm just going to glue it. down I'm just going to do it vertically and horizontally making sure the pieces of paper overlap so just making sure I normally wouldn't use the glue on the piece of paper sometimes you get a big glue on there try doing it on a

surface

that you don't care about, so I'm almost done there, just overlapping just a few layers there, then the next thing we're going to do is put some white

acrylic

scraping over the top, try to do it in a thin layer and make sure you put the

acrylic

only on the edges, this will help the paper almost laminate.

You can use a move for this if you want. Now this is the second one while the acrylic is wet. I'm going to put some newspaper and rub it on there. for about two, maybe five seconds max and then remove it and what you can see is that the text actually

transfers

to the page, which is pretty cool, especially if you want to overlay text on multiple

surface

s, so I'll do this once . Some of you know a few more times just so you can see it and you can play with different sized texts obviously I'm just making some smaller ones here to select maybe some of the titles and it's actually pretty good it looks very worn out effect and so even if it doesn't come out you know it's perfect, so that's the beauty of it, it's okay and it will make your work look a little more rustic, the only thing is it will come out backwards, just remember that now.

This is a third carbon transfer. I've done this before in other videos that use a little bit of graphite on the other side and then when you flip it over you can draw through it and whatever you draw on so I'm safe. using word checking on this one, like I say, all these letters and words are just random. I just got the form from today's newspaper and once you've drawn them, you should see some of the pencil lines, especially if you should go. with your text or want to get something is absolutely perfect. I actually did a pretty impressive job on that, when I'll cover it later, but hey, I'm just showing you what you can do to make this one. was used before which is a Celotex I actually made another one so this is the second one I made and now it's time to maybe layer it on so now we're starting to make a piece of art just from these simple techniques synchronization by superimposing them.
You just have to consider where you are going and place them and if you are worried about where to place them just look at the rule of thirds which can always help you but what you can see is that the other

image

is you know if you had images about this, they could appear through the text . I'm just looking at this, for example, the next one is an acrylic transfer and you can actually use an acrylic medium for this, like a clear, like a modge podge or a gloss medium. I'm just using acrylic paints, it works exactly the same way as hair, dry it so make sure it's completely dry, it has to be completely dry otherwise it will break, so once it's dry you'll do exactly what what you did at the southern Techtron. using water on your fingers, you need a toothbrush, in fact if you want, if you don't like it you can just rub the paper, sometimes it's quite stubborn and sometimes you have to go over a few more times just to make sure it It comes off completely now, sometimes creating a film on top.
If that happens to your work, just use a little PVA glue or glitter medium and it will go back to that beautiful shiny color underneath and your blacks. It's going to be black and more of a pretty grayish tone, so once I've done that there, I'm just going to shade this word verify and I probably shouldn't put that in there. I think I'll delete it. so I've been working on it a little bit more and that's the latest. Now I added some blue watercolor, covered that check sound with another piece of text, and then overlaid some more emulsion or acrylic over the top.
That one just builds those surfaces, that's it guys, for the transfer techniques. I hope it was helpful and beneficial to you and I know it's a very short video, but I just wanted to cover as much as I could in that video, all I want to do. What I'm telling you is that if you look closely, I only did four techniques and I said I would do five, the fifth one is acetone, if you have no idea what acetone is, it's basically a nail polish remover that I don't have. Anyone, so I can't show you that skill, but if you have something at home or in the future you want to try to do it, try it.
The only thing I would suggest is that you put acetone on the back of the image and shoot some cotton relaxer on the back so it is soaked and then use a little pressure. I actually use the back of a spoon and just press it on the back of the image all over and then peel it off. Turn it off and hopefully the images should appear on the surface. Just be aware of which printer you use. You know if you want to use newspaper, that's absolutely fine, but some people may be using inkjet printers or maybe laser printers and you just find out that the ink or the process that the text is in has been set a little bit. different, so keep in mind that if it doesn't work for you or works even better than then, fantastic in the comments and let me know that I also want to go over the work that I did because there are some small differences that I didn't show you while I was doing the techniques.
I've refined it a little more or really done it. I worked on it a little bit more and I went over the newspaper and as you can see, I did the word art there, another one where I went over some of the letters or just went around them, so I just went around the perimeter. of the lettering on that one, I actually drew my own lettering there, as well as dot absolutely a little bit and, but it's very quick, like I say, it's just a sketchbook investigation, you can make it a little more extravagant if you wanted it.
This could even be on a background and you can actually make a painting on top of it, maybe a portrait or some buildings or maybe the words have a little more meaning to you. You could choose names that you can relate to any topic. So experiment as much as you can. You can see that I actually used a little bit of PVA glue throughout the lot and that's why you'll see these areas where you know it's pooling the color. It's not as smooth as you thought. that's due to the fact that it repels from the PVA glue, but anyway that's it guys.
I'll leave you some good shots of the final piece and see you in the next video, see you later, boy.
