He has ties to the 6 Mile 42 Hustle Gang, a Crips group. Not much is known about Dugg's childhood, but what is clear is that he has been on the streets from a young age. In 2010, at just 15 years old, Dugg was sentenced to four years in prison for car theft and possession of a firearm. After getting into a fight with another inmate, Dugg was sentenced to 2 more years and spent a total of 6 years locked up. Dugg has stated in interviews that he began rapping while locked up and decided to pursue his music career after being released. Dugg was already respected in the city, so he easily generated a local stir.

But walking away from the Detroit rap scene isn't easy. Unlike Dugg, Sada Baby was not on the streets from such a young age and later gravitated toward that lifestyle.

He started rapping at age 19 and would freestyle for a few hours every day to practice. But after 3 years, music still wasn't paying the bills and he was forced to live at his grandmother's house and get a job. It wasn't until he was 22 or 23 that he decided to join a gang and joined the Red Zone Bloods in his neighborhood. Sada Baby has faced a lot of backlash for joining a gang at an older age. Most active gang members jump off the porch before they are 18, and joining a gang at 22 is not allowed in many places. There's also the fact that Sada Baby's cousin, Icewear Vezzo, is a cripple from another area of ​​Detroit and they've collaborated on music and videos together in the past.

Tee Grizzley is another popular Detroit rapper who has been on the scene for a minute. He first broke out in 2016 with his song First Day Out which he recorded and released the day he got out of prison. Tee Grizzley was never affiliated with a gang, but he grew up on the streets. The robbery was unsuccessful and Grizzley along with his three accomplices were arrested. He was sentenced to 9 months for the jewelry store robbery and 18 months to 15 years for the Michigan State robberies. He was released in 2016 and shortly after blew up with his First Day Out Freestyle. Since then, he has made a name for himself as one of the leading artists in the Detroit rap scene, having collaborated with everyone from Meek Mill to Lil Durk.

But just because you're not affiliated with a gang doesn't mean you can't get involved in gang problems and Tee Grizzley has gotten himself into the middle of the war between the 6 Mile Crips and the 7 Mile Bloods playing both sides. Early in his career, Tee Grizzley collaborated with one of the 42 Twinz on a song called Secrecy. But, shortly after, T went and signed Sada Baby to his own record label. 42 Twinz wasn't feeling fake love and took to social media to criticize Tee Grizzley for pretending to have sex with him and then turning around and signing his contract.

Tee Grizzley responded by stating that he was just trying to spread the love and put some money in everyone's pockets and they still accuse him of being fake. 42 Twinz clearly wasn't feeling that response because he posted a photo of the rapper on Instagram with the caption, "Don't let your car flip leaving that block." Tee Grizzley continued in the comments saying that Twinz approached him for the feature and that none of his friends sleep with him because he's not real. Twinz responded by claiming to have receipts proving that Grizzley messaged him first and is with his friends every day.

So after that exchange, Tee Grizzley was now at the center of the problem. Coming from the street, the rapper should have known that he was going to receive criticism for hiring a rapper involved in an ongoing war in the city. But he definitely wasn't prepared for what would come next. The rapper would collaborate with 42 Dugg on the song MWBL in 2019, leading many to believe the issue wasn't that serious. But it turns out that the war was just beginning. In August 2019, Grizzley was in a black Chrysler in the 3 Mile area of ​​east Detroit when someone sprayed the vehicle with bullets.

The rapper was not injured in the shooting, but his aunt JB, 41, who also acted as his manager, was shot and killed. Sada Baby was also directed by JB and he can be seen attending her funeral in the video for Tee Grizzley's song "Satish", where she raps about the shooting. Sada ended up leaving Tee Grizzley's label shortly after JB was killed, claiming that his career was not handled properly and because he was angry about the fact that T would release a song featuring him. Doe Boy didn't like his energy, so he put a leash on him to calm him down, which is why they don't like each other. After Doe Boy aired it, 42 Dugg followed up with his own IG story of him clowning around Sada for being robbed and taking credit for being the one who set him up.

Sada continued by stating that this is all cover and that both rappers are only looking to get attention by mentioning his name.
