Mar 15, 2024
In this project I'm going to use two of these wooden boxes from Dollar Tree, some of the craft sticks, and these little miters which, if you watched my last video, I thought, I'm definitely going to buy these, they'll make your life easier and they did it for complete. so I'll link them below and then use Waverly antique wax as well as ivory chalk paint and some doors, not knobs, drawer posts. H, you can use wooden buttons, any kind of thing you can use, but these are real. box posts that I didn't need and then one of these garden fences also from Dollar Tree, so first I'm going to cut out all these little extra pieces and I'm using my tin snips and I thought another Creator actually used them. miter scissors to cut it will work too or scissors, these seem to cut a little easier with less effort anyway, I'm going to cut it in half so I'll take two pieces out of this, although the second piece stays It's not so even, so I'm going to cut it in half and then I'm going to use this piece here, so I'm going to take my miter scissors and I'm going to cut the craft sticks and whatever I have.

What I'm going to do is make a frame around this box, so I'm going to cut it out. You need two for the top, two for the bottom and then half for each side, so I'm just going to play around here. with the size um you can be exact and measure it. I made it based on what I saw, I thought it was easier and I wanted it to have a rustic look so I just sanded the edges. where I cut now this is a tip one of you told me about and I'm so grateful and I wish I remembered who told me I'd say hello but you guys put little bits on a piece of tape when Repainting it makes it so much easier so much faster and less messy, so now I'm going to take the Waverly antique wax and I'm going to paint all the craft sticks and I'm going to paint all the sides. of these boxes except the front that's the only thing I'm not going to paint and the bottom and once that's complete I'll paint the fronts with Waverly Ivory chalk paint and here it doesn't seem like a big difference but it does make a difference , it gives it a nice touch when I put the edge on it.

I'm going to take the same ivory paint and just distress this piece here. I end up deciding later to just paint it. completely Ivory um, but I thought this might look like metal and then I didn't care, so you know, projects evolve as we go. Now I'm measuring the center of my box and this is going to be where my drawer knob goes and once I find the center I'll find the drill bit that I think best matches the overall size and then I'll drill a hole after I drill the hole , I take that box and I turn it over. to the other box and mark the hole, the other box saves me a little time measuring because then it will be in the same place.

I love having a small drill on hand, it makes life very easy and sometimes we are intimidated by those, but now they are very easy to use because my wood is not so thick. There is actually a gap between where I wound the drawer with the screw, so I just put some hot glue in that gap so it wouldn't continue. to turn and as you see here I'm adding the trim pieces that I made to give it some sort of molding so I'm going to do that for both boxes and as you see here I did it again and decided I didn't like it. that gray so I covered it in white and now I'm taking that old wax paint and I'm just touching it lightly to give it that rusty look and then when I'm done with this paint I'm going to go ahead and glue it on. and this is the end of this project.

I wanted to come up with some little pieces that could go into this project, so I found this little beaded thing at Dollar General. The only thing they had left was an S that doesn't really belong to me, so I knew I would change it at some point. I picked up these stickers from Dollar Tree and this clock was a perfect match in the exact size so it was a super easy makeover and then I also bought this frame from Dollar Tree and cut it out. I pull out a piece of scrapbook paper to put inside and I'm going to

decor

ate it and give it a rustic vintage look, so grab a tag with this little wooden key from Dollar Tree and then this sheet of rubons, these are so cool, I love the rubons um and then I decide I really like the look of the little one um oh I don't know what you would call that bookplate on the top instead of the bottom so I changed it so now I'm nice.
I'll check out the rubons here and I'll choose one. I think the rubons are really cool because they look like they've been tattooed like they're part of whatever you're putting them on and they don't look like a sticker. you know where you can see it's raised so I go ahead and rub this and then I'll use some twine and add the key. I needed one more thing so I went through my wooden letters and took a k for my last name and I added that I definitely think that was the finishing touch, it just gave it that nice look and now I can place it inside my little drawer.
I don't know what you would call this but I think it's the cutest thing to add to your home

decor

this is a simple three ingredient project. I purchased this little welcome sign from Hobby Lobby in their spring section. I bought it last year but they'll probably have something similar this year and then this house sign and the house sign are from Dollar Tree um I like them as is but I thought I'd add them all so just using a little bit of E6000 I'm going to hang this wreath with the welcome sign, whatever you want to call it, there on top of the house sign.
I absolutely LOVE these signs that Dollar Tree created and they already look

farmhouse

and rustic. They make

decorating

so much simpler and then how cute is that little house sign with the windmill. I mean, it's so cute on its own, obviously, you can buy it. it's that way, but I really like how he leveled it out by just gluing two pieces to the back and now we have this cute house sign, again, easy

farmhouse

decor. I saw this cute family home on Etsy so I wanted to recreate it. So I went through my stash and grabbed all the Shake houses I had from Dollar Tree except the one in the middle which is from store 99, but I was wondering which five of these houses I want to use, so obviously you can see.
There are many Dollar Tree options. You can make them all the same size. I like different sizes so these are the ones I chose and now I'm going to decorate each one so I cut the papers to size. You already know how. make that stroke and cut it out so now I'm going to show you how I decorate each of these houses so this one here is dry erase they have it on the board too I just cut out some Buffalo check paper that I got from the um piece there the base because it just wasn't going to work with this project and I took the paper off of this one and again I just cut a piece of scrapbook paper and put it in my stash I found this wood at home um piece I'm I'm not sure where it's from but Dollar Tree has a lot of those so for this one I like the black and white scheme and then the natural wood so that's the theme I'm going to follow here and then I used the Scrabble tiles from Uh Dollar.
Tree and I liked the black and white, but this particular house didn't have that natural wood so I decided to use the natural wood ones and the wooden Scrabble tiles are from Dollar General and then the numbers came in a package that I had. I bought a kit to make something reflective on my mailbox that had my address on it, so those were all the extra numbers left over then, so this is a frame from Dollar Tree. I removed the glass and then cut another Buffalo check. piece of paper, you could add the glass back. I chose not to.
I wanted this to be seen a little bit. I don't like the look of the glass and then that K. I think I found it at Hobby Lobby in their clearance section for 15 cents and Since my last name is k, I picked it up for a project. Lastly, this is one of those Dollar Tree arrow signs again. I just took some paper and then on my Cricut I cut out all of our family names and then I used two of these craft sticks, I'm going to go ahead and cut them down to the right size to make a roof, so now all of mine have a element of that natural wood, black and white, so this has been a super easy project, I always do it.
I feel a little bad about putting a k because two of my kids are from my previous marriage and their last name is be, but Kendall works, that's her name, so that's Cas, so my only poor, unrepresented card. It's my son Joey, such a poor guy, anyway, we're a group of four, my three kids and I, and one of the things like Scrabble tiles that I really love is my late husband and I actually played Words With Friends , which is an online Scrabble game for a couple of years, I think before we started dating, so it's like a very happy memory of playing that game, so now it's just a matter of putting all of these together, which as you can see it was very, very, very easy and there are so many different things you can do to do this project again.
If you don't have a Cricut, you can simply write the names with a white pen. You could have printed them from your computer. all kinds of options, but this was a very quick project and I love how it turned out now. I think two of those don't hold up on their own, so I went ahead and hot glued them together. a couple of tower blocks that fall back, if you do them at a little angle, they add the perfect little support and make it super easy and then it's just a matter of putting them back together like it's your ledge and you can, you can. pick you know which house goes where I copied the one I saw on Etsy um but again I love this project so fun and easy to do on L I share one last outing yeah we save each I'm smiling blirt and you but I'm Thinking of you, are you thinking of me drunk for this first project?
I'm going to grab two of these Dollar Tree signs. I'm going to deconstruct one of them and add it to the other, so I'm just going to take this aside and now I'm just going to lay out my pieces to get an idea of what it's going to look like. It would be nice if they were long enough, but they're not, but that's okay because we're going to put something on top. the middle anyway so I can cut them in half now I'm going to measure the middle point uh so I know where to make my uh I guess it'll look like a little arrow uh what would have been really nice is to have the little sheers miter cut and I literally went online after doing this project and ordered them because it was so hard to get the angles right doing it this way, but really you just play around until you get the angle you need. it should be 90°, but again, I probably did this the hard way.
I probably should have used it as a transporter, that's what they're called anyway. I definitely recommend those little miter scissors that will probably come in handy for a lot of things. and a lot of projects so I'll link them below so anyway I'm going to play around and get that shape and I'm going to cut out four of these and now I'm going to take the frame that I removed and I'm going to glue that down and I'm going to glue on the back just because it's a nice smooth surface and then I'll finish the other side that we removed it from and then I'll glue these pieces on as well.
Here to make it look like a barn door, okay, now I'm going to use this Dollar Tree arrow and make it look like a house, so I'm going to paint both of them white with my linen color. rum chalk paint and you see here I'm going to give it one coat and then after it dries I go ahead and do another coat so for two coats I said I was also covering that arrow with paint but I didn't . That's right, I forgot, so I'm going to cover it with this cute fabric that I found at Dollar Tree, they have some really cute fabrics and so what do you want to do because this one has animals and stuff on different?
The instructions are just to find what looks best on your arrow, which is now our house, so once I figured out where I wanted that pattern, I went ahead and cut the fabric and then I'm going to wrap it around this and glue it. our house now, now I'm just going to take my sanding sponge and run it through all of this and just give it a more rustic look. You could also take some brown or gray paint and add that as Well, this is a very subtle look that I have done here. I just wanted to distress him a little.
This little vacuum cleaner that you can get on Amazon is the best deal. I'm just vacuuming the dust and I can vacuum it. my table and it's so cool I'll link it below so this is just a ribbon that I got in a Christmas package and I thought I'd definitely go with that it's already tied up and everything and then this other little Dollar Tree sign. I actually bought it just for this little metal U piece. I really liked it and I also knew I could remake the little sign, which I'll do in this video. It's the last project so I'm just going to take this tape and I'm just going to stick it to my little house and now once that's done I'm just going to stick everything together and this project is complete because I painted this canvas for my old bedroom that I had a tropical theme, so I don't need it anymore, but I do need the frame, so I'm going to go ahead and cut the canvas out of this and then use it as a frame.
I tell you this is the waycheaper to get a frame. With what wood costs these days and it's super easy too. I'm going to peel it off and then I'm going to use the back of this canvas as well later in this project, I just like to cut it out, it's a lot easier than trying to remove the staples. Now at this point you can paint this or stain it. I really love this natural wood color and that's what I'm using. So I have this little Dollar Tree sign. I take out that medium and it has that.
Same neutral light wood, so I don't need to do anything with that. So I'm going to buy one of these disposable grill toppers from Dollar General. I love these things, they have such a great texture. Now you could use chicken. wi too, but this is going to be easy to work with and you can just cut it with scissors, so I'm going to go ahead and cut it down to the size that I need here and then I'm just going to use my staple gun. You will staple it to support your life every night, the main coma is fine, so now I cut a little piece of that canvas as you can see there and I'm going to stick it in this frame here and outside next to it you see a little windmill wind that is a Hobby Lobby ornament.
I picked up a bunch at Christmas, uh, to make the farmhouse decor, they have them in different sizes, um, and then an easy way to put this back up, I just measured around and made sure it had I centered it and then I used my gun. of staples again, just staple it there and this is so secure. I love when I can make something that doesn't require a ton of hot glue because I know it's going to stick, so center that. The little windmill there is hollow so what I do is I get some 3D masking tape from Dollar Tree and I'm just going to fill that little hole and then use hot glue to make it more secure and then stick it in the center and That's all for this project, it's very simple.
I love the simpler vibes. Don't decorate too much. I just think this one turned out really good and let me know what you think of the grill in the comments. My sister sent me this sign and I thought it's perfect because I often feel weird saying Cottage when I just had a normal house in the suburbs so I loved that it said Cottage so I wanted to make one of those signs for myself, so I'm using this Halloween beware sign, they have these signs all year round, usually something about this length and I'm just going to grab some wrapping paper from Dollar Tree and this will finish the back, um, I really want. this to have a finished back part even though it will be on the wall, it will cover that part of Glitter and this is a new technique um that I learned, I shouldn't say technique, I learned is a technique that I accidentally found when doing this that I made The paper It's bigger than the sign and what it does is that when you're painting it also serves as a way to not leave paint on the surface of your desk or wherever you're working, so it was a win-win situation.
I'm just going to cover this sign with Restum and linen chalk paint, but first I'm going to use some of this wood filler to fill these holes here. I don't want to have holes in my sign, I waited for everything. I wasted ages trying to find it and once I'm done painting I'll go ahead and cut this excess paper off the same way I cut the vinyl on my Cricket. The Farmhouse is in the Bailey font which I got from the Def font. com and I'll link it below and I forgot the font um that I used for ish, but it's just a basic font that's going to come on your Cricket and I'm going to put it on my sign.
There are definitely more things you can use the windmill for. from Dollar Tree. Coincidentally, I had this other one that I bought at Hobby Lobby. It was actually a Christmas ornament that I bought on sale and I think it was on sale for $2, so it's a little more expensive than Dollar Tree, but I like how it was already. It had that rustic look, I'm just going to use a little bit of E6000 to put it on. I know that metal hot glue usually doesn't stick as well, so you'll definitely want to use a different type of adhesive if you want. so that it doesn't come off and that's all.
I'm going to use my sanding block to give it a rustic touch and voila, the sign is complete and it was so easy and so cute. I love these seasonal books from Dollar Tree, of course I'm going to grab some extra and make some for everyday decor. I covered it with Waverly chalk plaster paint and this is what I get and I think it took two coats, then I'm just going to take a brown ink pad and I'm just going to go over all the sides and make it look a little bit aged. You can also do this with paint.
I like the control of a stamp pad better and even if you're not a Rubber Stamper or anything, it's always good to have one of these in dark brown and black because it makes wear and tear very easy as you can see. I can even go to the middle of the cracks right here now. I wonder if Dollar Tree is Now they're going to give us stacks of blank books because man, they're really stepping it up, okay, another department they've stepped up in is their rubons. I had to pick up one of each. I'm going to use that one, but I wanted to show you some of the others again.
I shared them on the tour, but you could use this love, peace and joy in the books. They have so many pretty plants. I'm excited to wear this for spring. But I went ahead and I'm using this one from Farmhouse and I decided to make this bookcase for my kitchen tray and since they have three words here it made it really easy so I'm going to go ahead and rub this coffee flour and sugar remember the weight rules , then the heaviest thing goes on the bottom, so if the word is the longest word, you want it to be on the bottom, um, if you have that option, sometimes, if you're saying a saying, you don't have the option , but if you have it. you always want to put the longest word towards the bottom or if you have, let's say you have three circles and they're different sizes, you want to put the largest one at the bottom, that's how your eyes like to see it.
I was actually an art major for a while in college, so I learned a lot in design class about darker colors go on the bottom, lighter colors go on top, your eye always wants that weight is on the bottom, otherwise your mind As if this doesn't make sense, that little tool on the side is like a little needle like the one you would use to weed your Cricket. A sweet viewer of mine that I actually got from me in person gave it to me. thanks Nancy, okay, now I'm going to take some of the cute ribbons from Dollar Tree and wrap them around this one.
The only one I'm not using from Dollar Tree is this one, it's like a Buffalo flannel check and it was in the Christmas section at uh Michaels and I love buying them after Christmas because they're so inexpensive and at the time of filming this I still haven't They had the grab bags. I anticipate that maybe next week or the week after that there will be, so be prepared. Be sure to contact your Michaels to see when the grab bags are available. I hope I didn't get lost, but I don't think he did. I know last year it was at the end of February, so we'll see, but anyway I'm just taking these three and I'm going to tie them in a knot twice. um you could make a bow if you wanted, but whenever there's some kind of pattern, I usually don't like making bows, um, in fact, I think it's especially with these three and they're not all wired, it'll just be easier to make double knot and then decided there are still nice rubes left on that sheet, so I went ahead and just cut out a piece of cardstock. uh I didn't use white because the paint I used was a little creamier so I found some cream colored cardstock in my stash and um I go ahead and rub the kitchen recipes and then my camera went off and I wasn't paying attention, so um, but I don't think you've missed much, so here what I'm doing is doing the outside first.
I'm not going to build that kitchen because what I want to do is put in the kitchen. and the recipes within the same rectangle, okay, you'll see that here and then just with my scissors I cut it out and then I use some twine and I tie it to that bow and then I'm going to put a little bit of adhesive on the back of this tag so I can hold it in the exact place I want it and this is going to be really cute for my kitchen, Parise, on the next project, I'm using this tag sign from Dollar Tree, they're pretty.
I have them every season, this sign also from Dollar Tree, as well as some sandpaper and then this is some wrapping paper also from Dollar Tree. I use it to finish the back of my projects, so I'm just going to sand off a little bit of this gloss. and this is where you'll see that cute little ladybug vacuum cleaner again. I saw it with jazz DIY home. I think it's her name and it's creative and cheap and I had to get one and it's

amazing

so again I'll link it below. and it just picks up all that glitter and debris, so I'm going to put some Mod Podge on this tag with the wrapping paper and this will be the back of our sign.
Once again I wanted to finish it now. I'm going to prepare this little sign here. I'm going to take it out of the frame and I'm just going to make marks where the frame was and I'm going to paint white in that area. This is a totally cute sign. It is my own and in fact I have one that I kept intact and that I have in my kitchen. I think I just added a little burlap bow so it's definitely a cute sign, but I loved the Buffalo check so I bought two because I knew I want to make one again so I'm going to put two coats of white chalk paint here and I'll do that on the label as well and again this is the restum linen chalk paint and now that my paint is dry, I'm going to set it up.
I'm going to set the label aside and reframe this cute sign. You'll see me play with some elements here. I just grabbed some neutral embellishments to see what would look like with this while it's a Black and White. I also wanted to add some natural and some burlap, so I'll play around until I find what I like and then use these rubons from Dollar Tree. This font is my favorite. So I have several packages, so I have a lot of letters and I will end up spelling out each moment that will accompany my little darling who is also from Dollar Tree.
It's exciting that they have been putting out some really cool items if you have them. I haven't seen them yet, hold on tight because they have announced on their website that they are expanding the craft sections in all of their stores, so I really hope you can find more of these decorative items. I just distressed them a little. A little bit because one of them didn't go on very well, so I distressed them a little bit, so now I'm going to grab one of these black chalkboard labels from Dollar Tree that I didn't like. what this brown looked like, it just blended too much, so I'm going to take this black label and add the cherish to it and stick them both together.
I really love layering and this is a pretty thick sign so I'm going to put it on the label it's definitely going to need a heavier adhesive because it's thin and how the sign is going to adhere so I'm going back and forth between hot glue and E6000, the hot glue is for immediate adhesive and the E6000 is for long term adhesive, so I'm going to take it down and secure it, so I'm going to grab this tape, here it's from Michaels. I bought it for Christmas. I buy two rolls because it is very good. and then I use it all year round on my farm projects.
I also wanted to add a little more texture, so this is a wire. I guess it would be a tape. I mean, it's in the tape section at Hobby Lobby. I just wanted to give him that little bit. a little bit of extra farmhouse texture, so I cut a strip to put between my tape here and then I'll add that little cross piece also from Dollar Tree in the corner and unfortunately I thought my camera was recording. and it wasn't, but I added these little beads on top so it can hang or if you put it against something, the little beads look really cute.
I got this crown shape in my Michael's tote bag last year. the spring section and it already has these pipe cleaners attached and I've never really made a wreath like this. I have these two ribbons too from Michael's bags, they are Christmassy if you go to the Christmas after-sale. two are always always on sale um so I thought okay let's use some things that I have and I looked up wreaths like this to get an idea of how they're made and I didn't know what to call them. so I didn't know how to Google it, so I thought I'd try something, so what I do is, as you see, I took both ribbons, pinched them together, and then secured them. with one of the pipe cleaners and I'm going to do this in every way, just making loops, so what I thought was strange is how are these, um, where are the pipe cleaners, how do they come up with because they're not symmetrical they're not it's not like every 3 inches there's one it's kind of random so this is me kind of trying to figure it out and I'm definitely going to share it with you maybe you've made one like this before and you have some tips because I think I have two more shapes of these wreaths and I thought :hm, I've never seen ones like this, so again I'm going to do a bunch of loops every which way and you know, I was, I was looking at it here and I thought, hm, this is definitely going to have empty spaces, maybe use moretape instead of just two U's, maybe use like four.
I wasn't too sure, so here I am again. I'm trying it's here uh once I go all the way around here um I'm trying to remember what I did next okay I remembered so I'm going to start fluffing this so I'm going to go in an opposite direction so I'm going I'm going to do a review of Buffalo on the outside and then a review of Buffalo on the inside and I'll go full circle. You can see that it is now starting to fluff up and look much better. So I'm going to go ahead and cut off all those pipe cleaners. down I thought maybe I could use them to put more stuff on them but they're getting in the way so I go ahead and cut them off so I decide I'm going to fit a little more tape in here and cut a strip, I end up cutting it um 8 inches and I just cut a bunch of these and then I pinch them in the middle and glue them together with half a pipe cleaner, so at first when I tried this, I just did the two ribbons here.
You see, I realized that it wasn't going to be full enough, so I go ahead and take, I cut them like this and then I take two of each color, so I'll have four ribbons every time I adhere or put on. Fluff them with a pipe cleaner, so again I'm going to pinch that middle, add a pipe cleaner and then add it to the wreath shape, so I added as many of these as I thought were needed to fluff this whole wreath, it feels good. This is what they look like after I attached them, so now I have to fluff them up, so what I do is I start separating them like you see here again.
I'm like trying to pull them to the side, so this will really fluff it up so you can see there's four ribbons on each one and I'm just going to go around and pull all of these until I get a nice drunken fluff kiss. I'm smoked broken, I cry for a kiss. Str sorry. I'm still the prom queen so okay, now I'm going to remove the hanger from one of these Dollar Tree signs and then I went to my Cricut and cut out a Welcome to Our Farm ending. Now Dollar Tree has so many cute plates already made, right?
Now, there are so many cute plates and you could take one that's already made and add it to your wreath, so I wanted to decide if I want it in the middle like this or on the side, so I went ahead and decided to do it outside. next to it, I liked that look, either one will work, so now I'm going to take out one of the little loops that I just made there because I'm not going to need it. I'm going to need a plan. space to put the sign once I decide where I want it I flip the wreath over and then I'm going to hot glue some pipe cleaners to the back of this sign so I can wrap it around the wreath shape now I I did. try to make one as a staple with my staple gun but the sign is too thin and went completely through so don't do that so I just used the pipe cleaners now this may not stay where I live because it's so long ago heat and I try not to use hot glue on my wreath but if your climate is not as hot as mine maybe this will work or I could have left them with a little super glue or something which probably would have worked better but that's it what I did for this wreath and now it's done, how do you think I did it with that weird wreath shape?
This is one of those projects that actually turned out how I imagined, so I'm taking four of these signs and again I'm coming out from behind, these were much easier to take out and there are only four nails keeping it intact, like I'm talking of small nails, so outside the frame, I just take them out, I'm not going to be using the backgrounds for this project, so you see, now I have four of those. Look, if you glued them together, that would make the cutest little box so cute and then I'm going to take two of these signs facing the windows and I'm going to remove that middle one from there and then sand it down a little bit because it's plastic, so what this paint will stick to.
It looks like these are already white. Why are you painting them but they are shiny? plastic look and I want this to look very rustic, so I'm going to take some of that linen chalk paint once again and I'm going to paint around those windows front and back and then I'm going to paint all of these frames again, every part of You're going to see everything, so you want to paint everything and it took me two coats of paint on all of these. Now what is this? Questions. It's going to be a terrarium. I saw one online and thought. oo, you might know I could do that and that's what it is.
Now that everything is painted, I'm going to go ahead and put it together, so I'm going to take two of these rectangular frames and those will be my sides. then the two windows, those are going to be my other two sides and I go ahead and just clip them together at first just to make sure this is all going to work and then the other two frames are going to be my top now from this it won't have a top with latch. I kept the bottom open so I can place it over the top of whatever decorations I'm going to use.
I'm going to use some E6000 and hot glue to put this together. I want to make this look like it's been outside and the paint has chipped off and this is super easy because the paint is actually like plastic and so the paint actually chips off so it looks really nice. I love that chip, look, everything I'm using here besides the paint is from Dollar Tree, those little clips are from Dollar Tree, the sanding block, but again, I'm just sanding it and making the paint chips off and then that's it. That's it for this project, you can put whatever you want inside it, succulent plants, um, I mean you can put seasonal decor in here, a nest with eggs, I mean so many different things and I love the rustic look of this one.
Kirkland hoax. This will be my challenge because I have a miter saw and I've only used it a little so I thought it would be really fun to test my skills and this will all be in a 12 gallon size. painter sticks now I was going to go to Walmart or Home Depot to buy some because they come three in a pack for about a dollar but I live closer to Ace so I went to Ace hoping they would sell them, they don't sell them , but They were happy to give me 12 of them, so this project cost me nothing, so anyway, as you see here, I'm using that Gorilla W glue again and now I'm just gluing some of the sticks for the centerpiece.
I did this and had to cut 45 Dee angles, so this was going to be the challenge. I did it? I did it right and I did it. That's exciting now. I know you're curious what the dimensions are. So I will do it. put them in the comments below, this is about 13 and 1 12 inches once completed, so I think this little area here is 9 inches, but again I'm going to put the exact ones down now because stir sticks are limited. They weren't long enough to make the diagonal, so what I did to fix it was cut them in half, that's how I made my angles and then I cut them in half, so this is the most complicated part for me, making the angle of 45°. angles to go into corners, that's what I'm not very good at, but I did it, I persevered and I did it again.
I'm just gluing the gorilla glue and as you'll see, they're in the center, they don't meet together, so if you had longer stir sticks or your outside base wasn't as big as mine then you wouldn't have that problem, but that's okay because I'm going to use one of the square wooden boards from Dollar Tree. and I'm just going to cover that middle, so for this bottom base I'm going to use Waverly's Antique Wax to color this area. Now one thing about this project is that there was another layer on top but the cuts seemed too difficult to I was afraid of getting too frustrated and thought I had winds here.
I'm going to leave the ones that I cut out and instead of that top layer, I found this little wooden sun and my stash that I had picked up from Dollar Tree, so I'm going to turn it over and use it in the center, so unfortunately, when you get these free from Ace, they're like embossed and that's it. I need to smooth it out, so I took some wood putty and I just pushed it down where it was etched, look there, and I'm trying to do it one-handed, with the camera in my hand, but once I have all that down and it dries a little, I just sand it until it's smooth.
I should have done it before I started painting, but I didn't think about it until after, so woodworking is very, very new to me and I'm learning as I go, so again. I did it in the Cracks there just to make sure I had a very smooth and, like I said, tall looking piece, so the last square I painted white with my Rustoleum linen chalk paint and then the square I added in the middle . I also used the Hazelnut Waverly Chalk Paint and then like I said, I had that little sun that I got from Dollar Tree and I like the neutral color so I'm not going to paint it, I'm just going to leave it as is.
And like I said, I changed that top layer a little bit because I thought it might be too complicated for me, but if you do this project and make that top layer, I'd love to see how it turned out. Again, this is a good reason to come find me on Instagram because you can send them to me or ask me any questions there where I can also send you images and that's it for this project. I'm really proud of myself for wearing it. a big power tool and now I'm not so intimidated to use it next time so let me know what you think of this dup so I've had this Farmhouse cardboard word from Hobby Lobby for a while so I'm going to stop cover it with some chipped paint and you can see here.
I bought it for only $149 so I hope they still have it there. So I'm going to buy one of these boards from Dollar Tree and then what I did was I cut right there to I removed those holes and what happened was I completely broke the board, so I was like, Oh shoot, what am I going to do? And then I thought, happy, happy accident, so what I did was I started messing up the board a lot, so I took my uh, orbital sander in there and then I started sanding it and then I would grab the side of the sander while it was running.
I did this and I would just like to hit him and give him this really cool angst and then I just ran. So the sander all over the place gave kind of circles which I didn't care for, but you can sand this any other way you want, so now that I had The Farmhouse um painted, it was kind of boring. You know, so I grabbed my sander, my little sander here from Dollar Tree and I started scraping this off. I want to take pieces of it. It really makes this look. uh, you know, shabby and on a farm, to get into the nooks and crannies.
You can use a nail file now, the one I'm using here isn't the best one from Dollar Tree. They have one that is completely black and I couldn't find it, but it is very strong. I recommend going to the nail section pick one of those, it works great for sanding, and you know, keep it in your craft stash so you can see here. I'm really roughing it up to remove bits, you can use your fingernails, whatever you want. I really rough it out and then it's just a matter of gluing it on. It's a very, very simple project, but I love it because it's so thick.
I mean it's like layers of chipboard like cardboard on top of it, so I'm. I'm sure I know they have a section of these words, I wish they still have Farm. I'm not sure why this was on clearance, but I know they have a lot of words, probably like welcome and other things that you could do and then just use my tweezers I go ahead and just remove those little strands of glue, you know, and now my sign is complete, you can see how worn everything was. I'm using this sign from Dollar Tree, now you can use scrap wood too and then these little mirrors. houses also from Dollar Tree and what I'm going to do is they're sticky, so I'm going to cut them out so I can fix them every time I have stickers.
Anything like that has an adhesive backing. I always trim them. first so I can place them on my project and decide where I want them before I glue them all up, so once I cut them all out, I'll go ahead and place them on this sign and decide where I want the little ones. houses to glue and then I'm going to cut this sign because you know it's too long and I'm going to take it out of my miter saw and cut it so this is where if you had some wood um that Could you know how to use the two pieces in the life of the party?
I want to dance with a if only I could karate cut it like that, so now I'm going to cover it with a little bit of gray. I think it's called mineral paint, a Waverly chalk and I'm just scraping this off so it absorbs the paint well and also removes the chips. Okay, now I'm going to go ahead and glue these houses together now. Originally I was just going to do this. a little piece, but then I looked and you know, the second piece that I had cut, I thought, oh, you know what we're going to do something with that too, now for these mirrors that you saw, I cut, I removed the top protective cover CU at first you're like man these aren't very reflective but that's because there's a protective cover there and now I'm just going to stick them in the settings that I like, also you used to say I say to myself I don't want to iine but I want to be the life of the turns out this little homely wordon this Dollar Tree sign it was the absolutely perfect size and stood out so well on this sign that now when I bought this Dollar Tree sign I had in mind that I was going to show the home offer project and then cover this sign because it has that nice neutral frame around the sign.
My favorite Dollar Tree signs because they come already framed so I'm going to stick this house sign on the second piece I had. After doing this look I thought how perfect it is, I mean seriously. I couldn't have planned that better so my plan was also to put a little bit like Tei or a votive candle between these two and at night light it and then it will reflect in the mirrors here. I didn't get a chance to try it out at night, but I tried to show you how I would style it, uh, if I did, so here it is with the candle holder and then I also had this little light up lantern that I thought might be cute for this project as well.
I'm using this round sign that I bought at the 99 cent store and I just removed these roses that were on it and, um, yeah, they were stuck there pretty well. I was hoping I could do it. reuse them, but that didn't happen. See how I cut a piece of gray cardstock the same size as the circle and I'm going to go ahead and Mod Podge, that now the good thing is if your circle doesn't look perfect. when you cut it out, when you go and sand the edges, it's going to be a big circle, so once I get that Mod Podge down, like I said, I'm going to sand the edges and then I got this other piece of paper that was in my scrapbook stash It came with a package called something bohemian and if I can find it I will link to it below.
It has this really elegant wood pattern and if you've been around you know that this type of blue is my accent color. at my house and this project is going to be really pretty so I'm just going to rough up the edges to give it a little bit of extra texture, then I just take my nail and push the edges up and I've got it. I like that rustic look you get by just using some double stick tape that you can use. You can modify this again, but when I add paper to paper, I find that any type of double stick tape will work and then I just cut out. a piece of brown paper and I'm going to put this vinyl that says on top.
I wanted to trim it in cream. I was not paying attention. I made it blank, but I think it works fine and this is it. just an image I found already made in Cricut design space. I just realized there was some background noise, sorry. My little one was watching YouTube. She, you know, that's not what they do anyway, so just adding this um to this piece of paper, I think it's such a nice thing. I said it was already designed and I lied a little, so the house was designed and then I wrote it is my happy place.
I wrote that, okay, so now I'm going to play with different elements here to make this sign look nice, so I have these little mats that are from amuse Studio. I bought them a long time ago, but I think that composition still exists, so again. If I can find them, I'll attach them, so I'll use my double stick tape again to attach them and then once I attach them, I'll go ahead and play with these flowers and put them on. a pattern that I like and then once I have them in that pattern I'm going to go ahead and glue them together and these flowers are from individual wooden flowers they're gorgeous and I'll also link the store below um I chose this one um set it up Se It was called Winter Wonderland I think and I chose it because it's greys, creams, dark gray and that blue color that is the theme of my entire living room so I was really excited that this pack came with all the perfect colors and you can see over there. just um, making kind of an arch, a side arch and then I'll take my glue gun and start gluing them together and that's it.
I'm going to add a rope on top, not a rope, a ribbon, a ribbon on the top. up um and make this a hanging sign and I think it's very pretty. I just like the video doesn't do it justice, it's just that these flowers are beautiful so again I'll link to them below. This is another project that is just as simple as gluing together five pieces of a SE, so I start with this wooden round, this is literally from a tree we cut down in my yard this winter, but you can buy them at any of the craft stores and then taking a Dollar Tree candle holder and with a little bit of E6000 I'm adding it to the wood round right there and then I'm going to put a little bit more E6000 on the top of the candle holder and then I'm just going to add this jar also from Dollar Tree to the part top and we're making something for your kitchen now if you want something a little more farmhouse in black and white, you can add some Buffalo plaid ribbon around the jar.
You could paint your rooster. I'll keep this all neutral. because I love the look of wood and all these three pieces of wood combined and then I'm just grabbing this bead now this bead is flat on the bottom and it's in my stash. I'm not exactly sure where I got it, but again, I'm sure you can get it at Hobby Lobby and then just this little wooden, uh, rooster, um, it came from another store, but these little pieces of wood, um, Dollar Tree It has some, but also in different craft stores. I originally used E6000 on this little rooster but since I have to dry this piece upright it started to slide down so I went back and used hot glue and it worked perfect.
I let it dry overnight and now I have this cute jar in my kitchen where you can add treats, you could even put a couple of dog biscuits in, whatever you want to put in there for your kitchen. Everything you see here in the supplies is from Dollar Tree, except for the printed, overlapping-looking paper which is from Hobby. Lobby, so I'll do it. The sign here is a sign that I already took some things off of for another project, so it's just a Dollar Tree sign. You can use any sign, it just needs to be flat, so these wooden pegs will be ours. frame and that's why I want to paint them black so one of the ways you can do this without them moving everywhere is to just stick them on something and I just use a little bit of floam and with black chalk paint it dries very quickly to which no It won't take long to turn them over and do the other side and I'm going to take my double stick tape here and I'm going to put the printed paper on the side, okay, and now I'm going to see. where I want to place this welome um little, what would you call it Reign? and then I'm going to use the rubons from Dollar Tree and I'm going to rub them that says to our home, so welcome to our home.
These are my favorite rubons. I love them. I have packs and packs and packs of them so I always have the right letters. Also, I'm a little lazy because I don't like the spacing. I think there's too much space between R and home, but you know, sometimes it happens. I thought about putting a heart in there, but then I thought it would look weird, so anyway I'm just putting a little E6000 and a little hot glue on this wire wreath, here's why I use it. E6000 is because metal and hot glue don't always go together well, so now I'm going to place my wooden dowels here to make sure they fit into my frame and then to cut them out I use my miter shears.
They're

amazing

, I've used them for a couple of projects that you'll see in this video and they're pretty easy to cut and I say that because I'm a bit of a wimp so I guess if I can cut them. most people can cut them so I'm going to see how to cut look how easy it is to cut and pop so go easy and then I'm going to take my little Sharpie here and I'm just coloring. Border there, you don't even see it when I glue it on anyway, but I did it just in case and now I'm going to take my detail glue gun and glue all of these together, C overbo to get to where we are and that's it. for you it's all for you it's all for you it's all for you I made it all for you it's all for you it's so I take uh four lead of this floral stick Fern um from the floral selection I don't know why I said Dollar Tree choice stick, this one was really good, look at it, I think it has six, I don't know, it's a pretty good choice there and then I'm going to make like a semicircle down at the bottom and I'm going to glue them in as well and if you're new here, welcome back.
My name is Lisa Kennedy and I am a dollar mom. I like to bring you affordable and affordable decor as well as some inspiration and so much more and then I can take this. Buffalo plaid ribbon from Dollar Tree too and I'll add just a little bow there at the top. I felt like the top needed something and then I realized that my leaves are covering a little bit there, um, over the two. our house, so I just cut out those leaves so you could see well, then I went and pulled out these three little rose cups, um also from Dollar Tree, and I'm going to add them to the sign that I felt like something was missing there too and I really like it how these little flowers turned out.
I used two large ones and one small one and that's it, the sign is done. I think the pegs made a really good edge. I gasped when I saw them at Dollar Tree. so I took one of each again. This is a super simple project. I'm going to take the bottom off the pig and the rooster and we're going to glue them on top of each other and just make a tall piece here. for your kitchen and then I'll go to my uh cricket and I'll type Farm Sweet Farm and I'll add them to our animals here for the source for the cevy sweet I used BFC spring blues and for the On the farm I used BFC banana smoothie and once I put them on my animals, it's just a matter of gluing them on and I have a cute little holder for my kitchen.
This is a table leg I bought on Facebook Marketplace, so what? What I did was I just cut that big top piece off and turned them into two spindles and now what I'm going to do here is I'm just going to paint this little piece of wood from Dollar Tree and I'll do my best to match it. to the axis, the leg of the table, whatever you want to call it. I think the spindles are really like stairs, but this is a table leg, so at first I realized it's too white with my linen rum chalk paint, so I'm going to add just a little bit of tan here to try to match the aged look of the table leg, so the backstory of this table.
I actually bought a really nice farm table, but I needed chairs to match and I looked online and The chairs were like $70 each and I couldn't find chairs that I liked, so I went on Facebook Marketplace. Someone was selling this table set, it had six chairs, which is what I needed. Actually, I think I only needed four chairs, so four. chairs and they were selling them for $100 so here I was buying six chairs basically for $100. I didn't need the table so the girl actually had the table legs loose and I was like oh you're making it easy for me . getting rid of the table, it was very old, I didn't need it, I couldn't find a use for it, so I thought I would make a note because each leg of the table had two of these spindles like you saw in the first picture, so I'm just thinking.
It's eight of these axles that I'm going to get out and then I'm also going to get the six chairs, so, very good deal, okay, now what I'm going to do is drill a hole all the way through. this, so I'm finding the center point right, so let's go back to the table because I'm very excited about this purchase, so six chairs, eight spindles for the table legs, that's good for 100 dollars and then we sold the two chairs that we didn't need. a Gage garage sale for 30 bucks, so now I only spent $70 and bought chairs for my kitchen table and eight of these speeches, speeches, spindles.
I don't know what I'm saying, okay, so, as you saw, I also drilled a hole in the bottom of the table leg and now I'm going to screw this all the way into that table leg and attach it to this is the base. You can see that this is an easy project. I recommend jumping on Facebook Marketplace. I've gotten so many amazing things most of the time, it's just that people want to get rid of some things, but it's a little more expensive than just donating it. I mean, I get good deals, so check your local Facebook.
Market Yes, I write Farm, um, yes, all kinds of fun things, okay, now you can see that you can decorate this in many ways. I didn't even tell you during the video that we were making a wreath stand, but now you can. put this outside, you can put it in front of your fireplace wherever you want and you can change the race throughout the year. I bought these bird houses from Dollar General, uh, they were only a dollar, so they're actually a little bit cheaper now than Dollar Tree, but Dollar. Tree has a lot of bird house items so it won't be a problem if you want to find something at Dollar Tree, so I'm just removing the roofs here.
I love the corrugated metal look and am covering them with white chalk paint. No, I don't have to worry about it being perfect, it's just so the colors don't show up with the fabric. Both fabrics are from Dollar Tree and I am delighted with them. I just never know what to do with them. fabric, so here I have the opportunity to use this kind of kitchen look on something, so I'm just using a little bit of glue here and I'm going to glue the fabric and then just wrap it around the back so it looks pretty anduniform.
You could also just cut it to size and maybe fray the edges. I think that would look cute too and then once you have the fabric on both, all you need to do is glue those ceilings back on and I have the cutest birdhouse kitchen things to hang in your kitchen, no you hesitate. I feel like this next project I got out the power tools so I bought this and I think it's a bed leg not a table leg. Excuse me, that's a table leg. I got it for free on Facebook Marketplace, seriously, Facebook Marketplace. I love it.
Also check your Facebook groups because you probably have a buy nothing group, like a free group, which is great too, so I'm just using my miter saw. to cut this into two pieces and this is going to be for me the teardrop tray that I'm going to make, this is not going to be the typical teardrop tray, it's going to be something a little bit different now that you're going to start to see me use more of this this saw, like this like my jigsaw, I bought them in October and then I had hernia surgery at the beginning of November, so I couldn't use it, then the winter, the rain and the cold, and I don't want to be outside, so just now the sun and I'm going to start using these more, so those are my two axes for this project.
I'm going to use some rum chalk paint and white linen and paint everything you see here now, these three wooden rounds are from Crafts Direct. I think that's what it's called, but I'll link to it below. I love their wood pieces, their unfinished wood because it's really affordable and they have really cute shapes, gnomes, barns, all kinds. of things, so it's one of my favorite online stores right now. I'm just trying to find the center so I can put this. I try to keep it as centered as possible and I don't know, I guess it was off screen.
I did, but I'm using E6000 and hot glue and, um, I'm just going to glue them together now, what this is going to do is they're not going to go, it's not going to be three levels that I'm going to do. What I do is offset both of them in the big circle so it will have a different shape, so keep looking and you'll see what I mean, but it's super simple, I painted everything white, glued everything together and it couldn't be easier now, You could distress this if you wanted. I really wanted a clean and simple teardrop tray so that's what I chose, but this would be super cute.
I'm distressed, you could add beads around it, but again I wanted this to be very clean and simple, just me, okay, grab these three items from Dollar Tree, uh, two of these jars are from Crafter Square, they came out in the fall, but I think they have them all year round and then one of these bathtubs from the little girls section for the Barbies and I'm going to scrape them up with some sandpaper so that when I paint them they stick to the plastic. Now I chose to paint them black. Once again, I want to go with this as an old rustic. bathtub, but of course you can also leave it white because that works too, so I'm just playing around with my black folk art chalk paint and then after I paint it all, I'll take the sandpaper again and type. of scraping, removing a little bit of paint and then that white will look and look like an old bathtub, okay, and now I went to my Cricut again and cut out the words cotton balls and cotton swabs. for these two jars and you know, cotton swabs, aka Q-tips and then add them to these jars here and then the jars just sit in the tub, nice to put on your counter and then I just grab like a little towel hand and tied a little ribbon around it and added that it is also just for decorative purposes and again, another easy project to add to your bathroom and tie the whole Farm theme together.
I had a lot of fun with this DIY because I had a little bit of a vision, but I wasn't sure exactly where it was going to end up, so I'm using this pretzel container and I'm going to make a hole down here at the bottom and it will become a nest of a bird, but it will not become a real bird's nest, it will be decorative for the interior of your house and you can see it here. I'm just going to cut the hole, okay and now this is a literally trash book because I found it in the trash can.
I was putting something in the trash and the book was on top and apparently my husband didn't want it anymore. As I'm flipping through the pages here, I see these amazing numbers for the chapters and I'm going to set Those aside for another DIY because it's really cool. I'm going to tear out a bunch of pages and use them to decoupage around this pretzel container and then once I tear out some pages and I'm going to rip them in half and tear them into some pieces and then I'm going to start modifying them and placing them in the container a long time ago, when we didn't do what people are damned because I was by your side in the past.
We didn't care what they said, people could look at me. I didn't give a damn because all I needed was my friend a long time ago, I remember when my father taught us to play guitar and we started in Myar, our dream would be. take us right so I have the whole container covered and then I just cut a circle c and added it up here and you can decide if you want to glue it or not. I decided to glue it. I couldn't see a reason why I would need to remove the lid so I went ahead and glued it on and then I'm going to take some of this nautical rope and wrap it all the way around a couple of times and then I'm going to wrap it around the top of the container as well because You can still see some of the clear top, so I'll go ahead and glue it around it.
I remember thinking I could only stop time right now when we did it. Not what they said people could watch I didn't give a damn because I was by your side a long time ago when we didn't. I don't give a damn about what they said I could look at because all I needed was my friend a long time ago when when we were taller than the ceiling and now I'm going to take my vintage Waverly wax and my chippy brush here and I'm going to put some of paint on the brush, I'm going to tap it off, I don't want to get too much and then I'm going to worry about this.
I started very light. I prefer to start light and build, so I know from this view it looks like nothing is happening, but I promise. and I keep doing this until I get the desired look again. That's when your theories come back. The images of us return like now. I want to make some flowers for the pages of a book, so I grab my Flower Punch. don't have one, don't worry, you can draw one, print one out on your printer and then just trace around it this particular flower has six petals and see what I want to remember, so I'll take my scissors and cut one out. of the petals here right to the center and that's it and then you just take those two petals and put them on top of each other and you get a 3D flower, so I'm just going to put a little bit of glue. below and you can use any type of glue.
I thought it was quick to use my hot glue and I use the smaller Little Dot because that's all it takes. Well, I'm going to do a bunch of these and then I'm going to take that brush that I used before with the same old wax and I'm going to go ahead and go around the edges on the flowers, this will really make them Pop's Car that we drove when they were teenagers, now that those are It's time to decorate the front. This is a piece of greenery I bought at Hobby Lobby. OMG it's been over a year and it's been in my stash so I don't remember how much it costs but it's a really nice piece. so I'm going to fold the bottom in there, I want it to be kind of at an angle, I'm going to go around the hole and then when I put it in there, I'm going to go ahead and just glue it back when we haven't done what they said.
You'll see me switching back and forth with glue guns since I bought the spine and hip one. I'm finding that I use it a lot more. Both of my glue guns are from Sher Bonderer and I really like this fine tip, but sometimes I want to put on a lot of glue and then when I use the other one, it's the normal size one, so they are placed next to each other and I just turn them on to both of them and then I can use whichever one I want and Since they're both wireless, the wires aren't getting in my way, so as you can see now, I'm just adding the flowers where I think they'll look good and yeah, I'm going to keep adding them.
I think this is turning out very nice. I think Greenery does it again. I bought it at Hobby Lobby. I hope it's something they still have. It's a really good piece. It has that kind of lambier, but it's not like that. I like the small one. like what you would call these kind of beaded beans. I don't know you guys, I don't know, I don't know my plants, I can't have real plants. I look at them and they die, so I can't tell you much. about them, I'm adding these two sheets here from Dollar Tree. Your new laser cut blades are everything.
Look how good they look in this project. They have one package with three different sheets and then the other package has another three, so they sell six. different types of leaves and these beads are all beads, these buttons are also from Dollar Tree. I had to empty the entire container because I needed one more light colored one and of course it was at the bottom so I'm just adding the different brown color. beads in the center of these flowers, this is a lot of beads, why do I want to call them beads? You buttons have a lot of buttons.
For a dollar, then they wanted to call the beans beads and the buttons beads. I have accounts. in the brain for some reason, okay, I'm just going to add a little bow here, this is just a simple little bow, um, that I made, I'm just going to add it to the top and this is something I picked up from Facebook. Marketplace Came in, it was a big old Easter batch and this little Nest was there so I thought I'd add it here and I'm just going to lay a couple of green eggs. I want to keep it pretty neutral and that's all I did.
Over this container I took some scrapbooking paper from Hobby Lobby on the Dollar Tree sign and then I just cut that piece of paper on two sides just tracing it and then I placed it on top as you can see here and then I just pressed it with my finger where the roof line is and then I'm going to take my scissors and I'm just going to cut there where I folded it and then that's going to help me place this right in this spot here like that. You don't have to come out of the roof line or anything these are brand new items from Dollar Tree you get three packs so they are really adorable and I mean they have about six different designs but these are the ones I bought and I felt like they that set had good contrast and matches the roof line, so I'm going to go ahead and glue this paper on.
I'm just going to use a glue stick and it sticks really well and then That pickup sign will stick on, um, pickup sign, well, it's like a little, like a little. I'm trying to think of what's almost like a little roller coaster, um and then I'll put it in the middle and then I'll add some tape. It's a super simple project, but it's been in the dust for about a week and I keep looking at it and thinking I can definitely see it being something I would buy like this, so what are we thinking? $125. for the sign here, the piece of paper was probably about 50, so $1.75 and then a third here of that package, oh, let's say it's about 40 cents and then some tape, so this is what you know.
I probably have a little over $2 on this and I think it's a really good deal because it's definitely something that would sell for around $12.99. I think Hobby Lobby has amazing decor. I'm sure you know if I've been to the store, they also have amazing clearance sales so this item is $17.99 so basically $18 and I got it on their clearance sale for 90% off so for A180 I got this giant tag and I actually bought one with my initial on it, which is a gay and I have it just the way it is in my house. I love it, but I also bought two more because they are so nice to renovate, so the metal house sign is from the dollar target place for $3 and then I just cut this piece off. of scrapbook paper to fit over the J, now I could have painted it, but it would have been really hard to match the paint and I didn't want to paint everything because I like that checkered line, so I thought I'd just um.
I added the paper and it had some dents in it so I just roughed it up with my sanding block and I really like the effect that it gave it as you can see here it just gives it a nice rustic edge and so on. Once I finish that I'm going to glue the paper and I saw on Analie Ashby's page that she used wood glue so she uses wood glue when she adheres paper to wood so I wanted to try it and I really liked how it worked. I finally found my brayer and ran it through and you can see how soft it is so I love that technique and I'm just going to add a little bit of E6000 and a little bit of hot glue in this house.
Firm with metal I always put a little bit of E6000 because metal doesn't like just hot glue. I felt like this needed something more, so I grabbed this tape from Dollar Tree. I love this ribbon, it's so good and I decided to make a little border around it. this around the paper and then as you can see in the top corner, I have some Brads and eyelids that I pulled out of my scrapbook and you'll hear meI say that a lot because I have a big scrapbook. So what I did with them was, well, if it's an eyelid, I'm just going to tap it down and if it's a nail, I'm just going to cut off the little tips and I'm just going to put it in the corner and really think it tops it off and then this side of the sign is done and then I'm going to turn it around and do something on the back and I just wanted to show you.
How versatile a sign like this is. I could use the front and could use the back, so you'll have to let me know in the comments which side is your favorite. How beautiful is the back of the sign. The natural wood is very beautiful and you will see that I did not use it. I paint on both sides of these because I just loved how it looked so again I'm doing the same thing I did on the other side using a little bit of wood glue to add this scrapbook paper. Once again, I'm using one of the amazing calendar pieces that, um, Jennifer Pew, I hope I say it correctly published and this one you can find on her website.
I think he still sells the prints. The calendar is no longer available, but I think it sells the prints. so I'll link them, but this is the calendar and it has a lot of good pages and this is the same artist that did The Farmhouse calendar that Dollar Tree carried so I chose this sign and I'm going to cut it out and also. add it on top of scrapbook paper when I add paper to paper I usually just use my double sided tape or masking tape and right here I'm checking some tape to see if it's going to look good on the side And that's why I love these little treadmill runners, they make it very quick and easy.
I'll have it linked below. If you do any type of paper crafts, you definitely need one of those and they are not always very expensive. I mean, sometimes I'll look at it. but I really wanted this sign to look high quality so I use some measurements here. I'm using faux fur ribbon from Dollar Tree. The material is incredible. I love, love, love how it looks so I cut it so that it would border this label. I love the next two ribbons I'm using they are from Stampin Up and they are beautiful. This is a lace trim and I'm going to put it on the top and bottom of the sign.
I will link these ribbons below, they are about $6-$7 which seems a little expensive but you get a lot like this 10 yard lace trim so you get a lot and it is beautiful. In fact, I used to sell stamping and I do all kinds of paper parties and it was a lot of fun. I only stopped because I had to go back to work full time so anyway I love your products they are very high quality and then on the sides I'm going to use a faux suede so in this project I have faux fur and faux suede and it has a lot of texture and looks so elegant.
I just love it and now for the finishing touch I'm going to add some flowers. at the top and I have these paper flowers and these burlap flowers and then the little ones are like lace and I would love to tell you where they are from, but again they were in my stash for who knows how long, but I feel very very good that they were from Michaels, that's where I think I got the paper ones from them, the white paper ones, I think they're safe for Michaels, so these are something you should be able to find.
Oh my gosh, I love these flowers and I've been sitting there begging to be used on a project and I think this was the perfect project for them to continue so I deliberately go from the corner to the top. I just liked the aspect of going up. a little bit diagonally and that's what I did and then this project is complete. I'm very happy with how it turned out. My mom saw it and said this was in the house. And I was like, yeah, this is definitely one. That's in my decoration. I love it and I hope you like it too, so again let me know which side you liked best.
Oh, I forgot. Yes, I was putting the small ones. I guess they were buttonholes, but I turned them into something. Also, I put them in the corner of each other as a challenge, so this project is one of the ones she sent me, so what I'm going to use are two of the Dollar Tree whiteboards, as well as the familiar Dollar Tree sign I thought I had a lot of thanks, but I didn't, so I must have used that and then I'm going to use three of these hooks that I bought at Hobby Lobby, they sell for $4 and I bought them for two. use the wall hanging hooks that Dollar Tree carries, but I picked out two and they didn't have them and then I remembered I had those hooks in my stash for a project I decided not to do, so it ended up working out great.
As you can see, I just gave them a coat of Rolam white chalk paint to cover the words and then with the family, I'm going to take my dry brush and cross it lightly and hit it. the look I saw in the picture and I also like that it gives it that rustic feel and after I put a couple coats of that restum linen chalk paint on my two pieces of wood here, I'm going to grab Waverly and Hazelnut chalk paint me too. I'm going to barely skim this because, again, I didn't want that stark white.
I wanted it to look a little rustic, so very, very lightly, brushing it along and then in a couple of spots where I thought it might be a little dark. I just took my sandpaper and sanded it down a bit and once that's complete it's time to glue everything up. I'm using this Gorilla wood glue. This is the first time I use it. the glue and I really liked it, it worked great, it dries pretty quickly so I'm going to glue it all together and then for the hooks, I just used the E6000 to glue them on as well for sturdiness, I took my staple gun and stapled these two pieces of wood together.
I wasn't sure if this was going to work. I thought maybe it would be that the wood would be too hard, but it worked great and I'm pretty weak and I could. just to staple them properly, so I was excited about that because I really wanted these projects to be sturdy, they were on my wall. I wanted them to look high quality and not fall apart, so I worked really hard to make sure they were all right. very sure if you are new here, welcome. I'm so happy to have you here and if you're one of my amazing subscribers, I also want to thank you and once I have everything glued together, I'll turn it around and add. a sawtooth hanger this has some weight to it so you definitely want to make sure you have something sturdy on the back to hang it on so I'd love to know in the comments below what you thought of this dup um actually am.
I'm glad I had these big thick hooks because I really think they gave it a little more than the one in the picture. I'm going to start by using six of these houses. I used three different ways that they come and then Now I'm going to go out the back of the house, of course they all came out very easily and then I'm going to film this one and it's being a little bit more stubborn, but I actually just slide my little Cricut spatula underneath and then just pull it out and it was actually very easy to undo so what we're going to do here with these is a shelf.
Now this shelf evolves throughout the video because I had a vision, but it was like I didn't have it. everything I needed to really evolve it, but as you can see here, you can take it out and use them for the next project. The backings are fine, so now I'm just going to glue the two houses that are the same. one on top of the other we want them to be thick so you can put something on them, you could even put them three heights if you want, and these houses are still in the store so I hope you can still find them.
I love them. I ordered a whole case because there are so many different things you can do with them, so I put some wood glue and a little hot glue on it. Now I'm going to grab some chicken wire. My brother-in-law had this left over from a project so it was totally free for me and then I'm going to bring my staple gun here and it's something I bought at Ace Hardware for not about $10 and I'm just going to staple it right. in these houses, as you can see also, I have the three houses next to each other and I glued them together as well and this was very easy, just staple this right on the back, keep in mind I'm not a very strong person and so If I can do it you should be able to do it too once I have everything stapled around the top I'm going to cut off the excess and I'm just going to use these little wire cutters it comes off very easily and then I'll see there's chicken wire hanging under the shelf and I'm going to trim it out and it's going to become the bottom of our shelf and if you have slots or something like that, you can just take your little pliers and something like that. bend them back um I was a little worried that it was going to be Pokey, but it wasn't quite right so now I just want to make sure that when I cut it at the bottom it's going to be a straight line so I just measure. and I think I measured eight inches down just to cut it right and over and over I'm trying to cut it as evenly as possible now I probably could have painted first, but like I said, this project evolved and I didn't really make up my mind. paint it until I put the chicken wire on so I'm going to take my restum um chalk paint on linen and a chippy brush that I bought from Walmart and I'm just going to go around and feel distressed and I want this It looks very rustic like it's been outside and the paint was peeling and I wanted to give it that look, so I go ahead and paint around all the houses.
Now I'm going to take this tape that I picked up. from Michaels and I'm going to go ahead and trim it so it doesn't have any slots and just finish it so I'm doing a half point and I'm going to glue from the little Buffalo check to the Make a little Buffalo check on each side and just use a little of hot glue. This was quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was, so I'm going to do that on all three sides, you can see there that I have the tape further out on the bottom because what I'm going to do is I'm going to wrap that bottom around um to give it a corner. nice and clean and that's it for this project you can hang it on the wall now originally I was going to put another piece of wood underneath to have it as a two layer shelf but that didn't work for me with the supplies I had but I think this is very cute on the wall and you can hang items from the chicken wire you have.
I could make a little mini Banner um I feel like um If you wanted to have it in your room, you could hang earrings from it. There are all kinds of things you do. I picked up these little dollar houses at Target, they were $3 um and the little rooster there is also from Dollar or yeah, Dollar General and you can find houses like this as well as at Dollar Tree, and even if they're a little bit taller, um and then you could use one of the roosters from the other project, um too. They have little flat houses at Dollar Tree that look exactly like this and you can make a sign out of them, so I covered the H, m, and e with black chalk paint.
Now there's an indentation for the letters and I wanted to achieve that wood color, so I used a wood kit from Dollar Tree here, a wood cutting kit. I just started drawing the lines with this, this was definitely something out of my comfort zone, something different to try and if this is something you don't want to do it no problem, you could make a stencil, you could put stickers on, you could use your Cricut and make the letters. I just wanted to try something new and see how natural I could get this. Now I felt like the wood was a little bit too light, I was hoping I could get the color closer to rooster.
One of the thoughts I had was to use some old Waverly wax and put it on the letters there and it would give It's a dark brown color, but I went ahead and just used one of my chalk pens. I really love the brush tip ones because you can get them into every crevice. I'll put those pens together because I love them and you wouldn't think one bit. A brush marker like that would be great with chalk and is very pigmented. I really like them, so it was as simple as coloring in those letters every once in a while, setting them up like the rooster is the o, and then just adding a little more interest.
I'm going to add this brown ribbon on top. If you go for more of the black and white version, the Dollar Tree check like Buffalo would also look amazing. I was trying to keep that natural wood look so I just put this around the top. up and then that completes this project I feel like I can hardly call this a DIY um because it's so easy this Dollar Tree sign I tried scratching off the letters by rubbing them, it wasn't happening so I set it aside and it goes Works great for this one project because I like how long it is and it will work great for this document, so this is a sheet from a package of paper and I got it from Michaels not too long ago, so I'll link to it if it's still available. available but I'm going to go ahead and cut it out to attach to this sign and what I do is I make it a little bit smaller so you can see the window through it and I wait around and I just liked that look so when it's sitting it just you have a different look and then I just use my tape runner to add it and that's it, it doesn't even look like a real project but what I had in mind when I made this is a three part vignette so this was thefirst part and then I'm going to take out some more paper from the same package of paper and I had these letters and then a gray 4x6 frame from Dollar Tree and I.
I'm going to cut these letters very thin and I'm going to spell out my last name and then I'm going to glue them on that little piece of paper that you see in the top top corner and I'm going to put it in the frame. so again super super simple What if the world had more of your smile? What if the wind could spread your love? What if your sweetness could reach everyone? Awards maybe the birds will sing over your heart maybe the trees will whisper the word maybe the sun will spread its joy to those who lost hope of completing this vignette.
I'm using this Cathedral window from Dollar Tree. I'm not going to do anything to him. I like it the way it is and it says our family meets here and then you. I have the barn look in our last name and I thought Trio was going really well now because I want it to stand up like you see here and the window doesn't stand up on its own. I just use some falling tower blocks. I stick it on the back so it stands up in a field with you and Flow everywhere with this project. I'm going to use this wooden skewer that I bought at the 99 Cent store.
It was a pack of five, I think. for 99 and um, you can use any type of club like this and I'm going to cut it to 4 and 2. Look again. I'm using the very easy miter shears, so I'm going to cut four of those and then these. The wooden sticks were from another project that completely fell apart and you want to know why because I used hot glue and put it outside and it's very, very, very hot where I live so it fell apart and this was something I had made when I first started making projects like this and then I thought, oh, it makes sense that you can't put hot glue on something that comes out, so now I cut 12 of these white strips to 4 inches, so what I'm doing here.
Because you're probably wondering if it's some kind of small planter, like a small one, just to put a little plant in, so what I'm going to do is glue this side in first, super simple. I'm just gluing it edge to edge, the reason I'm doing it upright is because I want to make sure it's flush with the bottom and then I'll do these three strips on each side and then I'll just build it around it by holding . Before I glue the last side, I'm going to put the burlap inside. I bought this roll at Joann's. It sells for $10.
I probably bought it for 60% off. I feel like I don't really pay much when Go to Joan's, so as you see, I put it inside and then I'm going to glue the burlap on each side like you see here and then I'm going to cut off the excess and then I'm just going to add the last two strips of white wood and that's it and it's the cutest little thing, um um, you can put a planner inside. Now I left the bottom open, you could put something on the bottom, but I felt like I would just put this on top of some other type of plant and make it easy and then one last thing, I had a little bit of um, the edges of those strips that They weren't like wood color and they looked funny, so I went ahead and covered them with a little more white paint.
I also picked up the rooster, cow and pig like this from Dollar Tree and I'm just going to use the rooster in this one. Oh look, there are three you can get at Dollar Tree too. They have really upgraded their farmhouse decor. Oh. OMG there are so many cute things, if you haven't seen some of them I posted a tour so you might want to check it out. I'll put it here in the corner to link to if you want to check it out. It went well, so I'm going to take these alphabet stickers that I bought at Hobby Lobby and I'm just going to write, not write, put stickers on and they're going to say welcome to the coupe, okay, so when I did that, where was I?
Do you want to know your normal handwriting, where the W is uppercase and then the rest is lowercase? I wasn't going to have enough lowercase, so I thought it would be nice to write every other letter, so I have Uppercase. lowercase Capital lowercase and I actually think it turned out really cute that way um and I just like Walmart also has a really good selection of alphabet stickers for a good price or I'll wait until Hobby Lobby or Joann's or something like that has them on sale and I will be purchasing a couple different styles and sizes of black and white alphabet stickers and they always come in handy so this is just one of those.
I can't tell you exactly how much I paid, maybe $2, no I don't like paying more than $2 for stickers, so once I have my whole little alphabet here, I'll use another product, yes, that's a Dollar Tree word. I am also very excited about all the blanks you have received. now they are making our lives much easier, we no longer have to pay for, you know, Valentine's and Christmas posters to do our projects, now they are giving us blank spaces, look how cute this is, it's like an easel, it's all ready to go and it even has a little ledge so you have a choice here you can just place it like I'm doing here or you can stick it there and you can also change it to Seasons um.
I think it turned out very nice. and here it is with the black background so you can see it a little better. This is a sign I saw in a Kohl's ad and I wanted to recreate it for myself, but I put my own spin on it so I grabbed it. this 8x10 frame from Dollar Tree and I'm going to go ahead and remove the backing and I'm going to use some of these new stickers that they have that I love again. I used my Cricut and came up with this saying. our door is always open during r hour.
I always use the Gabriola font and for the open door I use the Cream Candy font again. I'll also link the ones below and put them right here on the glass. and I just thought it was the cutest thing, it's like a window door, it's what I was seeing in the inspiration and I just liked this darker wood, but you can paint it totally white or any color if you like that too, I think. This frame is so tall for Dollar Tree that I was very pleased to find them and they also come in 4x6 and I don't want these little black pieces to show so I go ahead and remove them and then I'm just going to use some hot glue to adhere the window, the glass to the frame.
I'm going to use some of the stickers from each of these packs. When I saw this one with the hinges, I knew exactly what project it was going for. use it because this inspiration has been on my to do list for quite a while so these stickers are absolutely perfect and then I'm going to use the little keyhole here and then the strap on the other one. That looks like a suitcase and I realize it looks more like a suitcase handle, but I liked how it was set up. I just saw that it looked really good and that's it for this project, super fast and something a little different.
You guys have been finding these new items at your Dollar Tree, but Dollar Tree has posted that all of their stores will have expanded craft squares, so if you don't see them yet, wait, they will come, this will be a quick and simple fix. project. I'm using this US label from Dollar Tree, as well as this vinyl I found in the Target Dollar ad. I've had it for a while and I think I really need to use this, so on this Dollar Tree tag. I need to just sand, there's a little bit of ink on the back that you know, those Dollar Tree ones or whatever, so really the wood absorbed this old wax so much that it covered it anyway, so I didn't really do it.
I need to do that. I wanted to give it a little bit more of a rustic look um Inky, but like I said, it's absorbed it so much that it just comes out as a very deep stain, but again you can see this is going to be the quickest project so I'm covering this sign um and then I'll add this vinyl to it now. I will say that I don't recommend this vinyl um these little vinyl things. I went ahead and used some contact paper to Leave it, um, I also decided I didn't want to use the key and it doesn't work like Cricut vinyl, it was a pain in the butt to take off, it was a pain in the butt to put it on the sign and I ended up using Mod Podge on top because it just wasn't that sticky and I don't know if it was because it didn't like the old wax or what, but it was a little annoying and you'll see I can.
I actually moved the hearts because I didn't quite fit this label. I mean, I was pushing it using this pre-made vinyl, but after getting it down I was able to move things around CU, that's how non-stick it was, I should say. anyway, that's what I did: I used a little bit of Mod Podge um to cover it up so it was nice and safe and then just to tone down the Su white, I took what was left on my brush from the old wax and just brushed it on . the vinyl and it doesn't show on the screen but it looks good this is just a little trick if you want to hang tools that don't have a hole to hang them this is how I hang it anyway I just pushed made a hole in the part top of the label and added a piece of ribbon and that's it for this project.
I'm going to start with this board from Dollar Tree and I'm going to cut it up a little bit with my miter saw and then I do that, I'm going to cover it with Waverly Ivory Chalk Paint and this is what you get. I picked up this board from Facebook. I actually bought two of them and it's like a linen background that's a little spongy, like you could glue it on. pins and then this really nice cream border, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to glue this piece that I just cut out and painted and then I'm just going to take some little scraps of wood in there and that's just going to keep it nice and stable when I stick it to the board so I'm going to use a combination of Gorilla Wood, wow that was hard to say, gorilla wood glue and a little bit of hot glue for an instant hold and I'm going to glue this all the way to the bottom and I can't really say sign because this doesn't it's actually going to be a sign, it's going to be a decorative wall piece, so I'm going to show you all kinds of fun ways to style this when it's finished, etc.
I know my workspace is quite small and you can't see the whole sign, but yes, I bought these three boxes too of flowers from Solarwood, aren't they beautiful? I'm in love with them and I thought: what am I going to do? with these, so they're going to continue with that again. I don't want to say sign, but you know what I mean, that frame I was making a few seconds ago, so I'm just going to glue them all together and then once they're dry I'm going to glue them onto the board, so now that's all it's dry, I'm going to go ahead and glue this on and that's it, no big deal here, this is pretty complete, it's going to be all the different fun ways I can decorate it, so make sure you stay tuned because I'm going to decorate it a couple different ways now when you see my style it's just sitting on my table because you can turn it into a standing piece but it's made to hang on the wall as well and I just wanted to add another decorative touch here so I'm just going to add a little bit of this ribbon from Dollar Tree, this is my favorite, it's like antique lace, it's so pretty. so I try to grab a couple every time I see them and then when I picked them up I thought, oh you can see the edge of the board that I glued the boxes to, so I grab some tape that I got from stamping.
Upstairs is synthetic suede, it's very pretty. I'll also link that below you get a lot in a roll, so even though it's around $6, you're probably getting six times the amount you would get in a roll from Dollar Tree. it's a good price so I go ahead and just add that and then add another little piece of that lace over my scrap wood just to finish everything off and now I wanted to make some decorative thumbtacks to go with this board. So I picked up these little floweries from Dollar Tree, as you can see they're all bright colors so I used some Iory chalk paint again and just painted over them and then another thing I did was I had these cute ones.
Little pom pom balls that I got on clearance at Joann's, so I'm going to go ahead and stick a couple of those on these pins and this will give us some super cute pins for the board, so like I said, I'm going to style this in lots of ways, so I'm going to take one of these push pins and push it through the solo wooden flower petal to add it to my board and this way I can take it on. and off as you see here and then I can add elements, this is how I designed it.
I used the label that we saw in the last project and if you like that little vase, um planter, I don't know what you want to call it. uh, but that's the next project coming up, so that was fun to do too, so now that you've seen it styled like that, I'm going to show you how to give it a different style, so it's one of the different ones. The ways I did was make it like a kitchen like a note board, this shows you what meals are going on, your notes, your tools and then here's another way you can style it according to the season and I just made some lemons here so that you can see how. versatile it is and how many different things you can do with it for this project.
I'm going to use three of these wooden planks from Dollar Tree and the sign that I bought and I think I bought it at the 99 Cent store, but you can use any Dollar Tree sign or anything that you have and then I'll paint them in three different shades, so I'll use Waverly the Hazelnut antique wax and ivory to paint them. I'd be stuck here. inthe ground IAD I won't trip in your eyes they shine like the star that was until you saved me until you set me free my eyes were closed now I see clear as day and I just wanted to say you can take I'm high, I bought this printed sheet music from Hobby Lobby, just scrapbook paper, and I'm going to go ahead and modify it to this sign, but first I'm going to take out these, which extend the speed hanger, it actually comes out.
I easily just had to use my little needle nose pliers and unroll it and then put it back at the end of the project. You can take me with you now. I can't get close enough until I'm free. Now that I can, have you seen them at Michaels? It's like a bunch of different tapes. I completely died when I saw them. They have them in all kinds of different colors and I love that it has so many different textures and similar colors. So they're $9.99 and you know if you can use a coupon they almost always have 20% off everything now so I thought that was a really good deal so anyway I just printed I always say print , cut out some vinyl on my Cricut. and it also says with my soul and I'm using my favorite font which is called Bailey and it's from Def font.com and this is the part where I put the bead hanger back on and then I go back to that ribbon that I just chose. three ribbons that I thought would work well in this project and then I grabbed one of the laser cut wooden crosses from Dollar Tree that I will also be adding to this project.
It's just a matter of gluing everything together and the project will be complete, your eyes will shine like stars. I was down until you saved yourself to be free. Now I see c like day and only for you, take me, I feel like I can fly. You can take me high. I can see the sun looking at that smile. I'm Ming closer to you I can't get close enough until you release me My eyes were closed now and I just wanted to tell you that you can take me as high as if I could fly, won't you take me away from you?
I promise I'll hold on to I don't know what I without you without you you can take me high I feel like I can fly you can take me high for this Kirkland hoax it's super easy I took a 12x12 canvas and threw away the canvas part I thought I had pressed record and apparently I didn't, but basically you just tear off the canvas, there's not much to do and then I'm going to grab my Waverly chalk paint in black or ink or what. The color is anyway it's a black color and I'm going to paint the frame of this and then I take that there are like little holes on the inside of the frame so I took a very small brush and put it there.
Well, I'm using Cricut's Aline font and I just typed the words "home is our happy place", super simple, simple and I just printed it out and cut it out of black vinyl. Now to make the back sturdy I simply cut a piece of black. foam board and then I'm using this wood look paper that I pulled out of my scrapbook. It's not the one from Hobby Lobby, but they have one that is very similar and then I'll go ahead and just put the vinyl on. the paper I was a little worried about the transfer tape on the paper.
I wasn't sure if it would break and it didn't at all and I used just the Dollar Tree clear contact paper and it worked perfectly so I just um I just measure and make sure it doesn't go sideways or diagonal or you know I want it to look balanced, so I go ahead and put this on the paper and then I'm going to double tape the My Little. there and add it to the foam board. Now mine is a Tombo uh sticker, but I noticed Dollar Tree sells them now and they're even blue like that. I haven't tried them yet.
I bought a pair. I was waiting for this. one will run out of tape and I'll try the one dollar one, two you can get. I'm just going to hot glue it on and that's it, it's the easiest project and I think it looks like the CK you want and for only a couple of dollars again these blank Dollar Tree signs are so awesome I bought them in their section Valentine's Day sign and I knew right away that it wasn't going to be a Valentine's Day sign because I think it's hearts and a home, so I went into the design space. looking for the same house is where the heart is because that makes the most sense, so go ahead and do it if you want, but then in the design space they had this one and I was like, oh, that's so cute, so I made this house. where the craft home is is where the craft clutter is and that's what I thought was really cute and I'm going to put this in my craft room but again you can go to the design space and choose the one that says the home is where the craft mess is.
The heart of it is that if you want, I also want to talk about this vinyl transfer tape that I've been using. I think I talked about it in my last video, but it's from Frisco Crafts. I bought it on Amazon and it works. So good, one of my frustrations is when the tape doesn't stick to the vinyl initially and it drives me crazy. You can see how well it works because I almost had trouble transferring it to the sign a little bit. I love HTV R vinyl so those and this vinyl aren't theirs so it may have stuck a little but those are the two I found.
HTV rots, we are weeds, well, that's one tongue twister and the other. tape I think it works very well. I have PCA pins for Christmas. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but with a Michaels coupon they are affordable. I'll link them too. You can also get them on Amazon, but I don't see them. They are on sale on Amazon so you're probably better off using a Michaels coupon to get them but they are basically acrylic pens that are very high end so using my black one I went ahead and measured the roof line here do it in both sides and color it.
I won't make you watch me color everything. I'm pretty sure you understand how it works, but it definitely makes the top pop a lot more and of course you can use paint too. use a Sharpie. I don't love the look of the Sharpie, but any paint pen will work too and then of course I'll just grab some of this Buffalo Plaid tape. I'm just going to tie a normal Tire shoe bow and of course it fits. the ends at that point I just decide oh I just don't love the hearts on the top like they get lost and it's really going to depend on what you put this on of course you can see it on my The table here is white but I decided going ahead with my marker again and just ticking around it, it looks like I'm sewing and I think that made those hearts stand out a little more.
Another option is to grab some scrapbook paper, some felt, glitter, anything else you like and place it behind those hearts to give it a different look. I just did this so you could see it, look, it looks nice anyway, this project is completed using the houses that I left from the last project. I'm going to make a sign here that says family so I went ahead and cut out some pieces of scrapbook paper and it's a pad of paper from Michaels and I'll link it below hopefully I still have it but you can use any type of paper that works with the color scheme of your house, so this paper is a little hard to see here on camera, but it's gray and tan and then there's some gold paper as well, so I'll go.
I'll go ahead and modify them down to the houses, then I take my Cricut and I take a piece of paper that's also from that kit and this is a brown paper with a little bit of gold foil and I go ahead and cut out the letters for the family I think a lot of times you forget that you can also cut paper. I know most people make vinyl, but for this project I loved this paper and it's nice and thick. I'm turning it over so that when I remove the letters, they're nice and flat and don't curl up, so that's a little trick I learned.
I think it's from one of you, so I'm going to grab my double stick tape, which is a must. If you are doing any type of paper crafts I go ahead and glue them to the houses, as you can see this is a super quick project and we were able to use what was left over from the last project once I got them. completely stuck, I'm going to grab some of the falling tower blocks and shout, before I do that I'm going to take my brown ink pad and run it along the edges of each of the houses. and this just gives it a little bit of a nice edge and makes it stand out a little bit better.
Okay, now I'm going to take the beam blocks and I'm going to hot glue them to the back. Now I'm going to make sure it's slightly above the bottom, if you do it all the way it will fall over, so having it slightly above is enough to tilt it back and have it stand on its own, so I do this for each of the houses and then you can just place them however you want and it's a super cute sign, especially if you have a mantel or something. I love how this turned out and it was very easy to make.
This is a quick and easy makeover. I picked this one up and it was let's see $149, a great price. I like it as it is, but the orange doesn't really match my decor, so I'm giving it a little makeover, so I unscrewed the clip. I like it. I'm going to put it. I put it back on, so I'm using this folar chalk paint in Cascade and this paint was actually my, what do I mean? my inspiration, my muse, for when I redid All My Decor, so I went from browns, oranges and maroons. and all those burgundy colors and I changed my home decor to greys, whites and ivories and I like soft colors and then this shade of blue so this blue is my favorite it just adds something like Serenity to my home decor home, so I was Definitely going to add a little more of this to my projects.
I also love photographs. I'm a former photographer so I have tons and tons of photographs so this will be a great way to showcase some. Now this is a little piece from Dollar Tree and I've seen other makers remove the gold and there's a white base. What I didn't know while I was trying to do this is that I removed too much, so I was left with something like rough paper underneath and then Then when I got to the other side and started removing the gold, I thought, oh, it's a small part and you get this really nice bright white, so I thought, damn, so I removed too much from one side that I had. a couple of these different signs and words so I give up on this one for now and go and grab another one that I can take off properly and use that one instead so I'm a little bummed because I really liked it.
I love it and probably could have fixed it, sanded it, maybe painted white over it at this point. I was a little frustrated and knew I had more of these so I just chose another saying and was happier with it ever since. I was able to peel it off properly this time, so I'm trying to get a little close up here so you can see it, so the top is where I removed too much paper and it's like it has a paper texture where the bottom was shiny, you see. now I have a different word and it's hello and I got the gold out correctly so I'm adding back into my clip and I'm just going to adhere the hello down and I think this is going to add something perfect to my home decor um I needed some pieces more of those blue ones and I love how this sign turned out.
I didn't know what I was going to do with it when I bought it and I love how it looks from this side. I wanted to make a decor piece to go with the last one, so I grabbed this Dollar Tree face that you could really use as a Pringles jar, anything cylindrical, um, it doesn't really matter because I'm going to cover it anyway and then just I grabbed some neutral trim pieces from my stash and some buttons and stuff and a piece of scrapbooking paper, so I'm going to take this and measure it out and this is what I'll wrap around the vase the longer I wait.
That I've tried all the years I've wasted trying to find it all. I'm just using double stick tape to stick it on. I feel like it works very well on glass with paper. I'm sure there are other glues. I can also use it, I just know it's going to stick really well and then I'm going to take some of this burlap from Dollar Tree and I'm going to wrap it around um as well and then this amazing ribbon that just came out. Dollar Tree is faux leather, it's so good it comes in six different colors, so this is the darkest brown that it comes in and I'm going to cut two strips of that to hold my eyes on.
I can hear the movement, it's morning, there are more things that relieve me. soul, I'm going to take this piece of canvas left over from another project and just tear it up and then use this laser cut piece from Dollar Tree. You will see them in many of my projects. I am totally satisfied. I'm obsessed with them right now, I think they make amazing ornaments, so I don't know where I got this little vine wreath, it was just in my stash, but you could definitely make one with just twigs or, you know, floral branches and I .
I'm going to add the canvas piece to that, then I'm going to take some of this thread from Dollar Tree and wrap it around three times, tie a double knot in it, and hang this from that thread. and then you'll see on the side, there I have a little clock piece on a piece of wood. I tried to add that it just didn't work, that piece of wood was too thick and didn't work, so I removed the piece from the clock. and I added it to the word amazing and I love that it turned out great and then all I have to do is just add a little bow ofthread and this project is ready if you want to see how I made those ties a little slow.
Moving on, I'll link my bow tutorials below and I think this added perfectly to the last craft. You've always been behind everything when I was walking down the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby and came across this little house. I loved it and this is probably the most expensive piece in this video. It was $349, but it's nice and sturdy. I like how it has a rusty, rustic tone to it, and while the bear and stuff is cute, it just isn't. I'm going with my decor so I wanted to use oh my gosh these crosses from Dollar Tree are so good.
I think I bought like seven because I couldn't decide which ones I liked the best, so this is just a piece of scrapbook paper and I'm going to center it here, I want it to look evenly and I'll draw around this and cut it out, but then I will have to measure the black border and then trim it to fit inside. There is no going back to your own life living in the and now. I'm going to take those alphabet stickers and this cross and I'm going to add them to the front, so I'm going to place the cross wherever I like so I know where to put my letters and I'm going to spell blessed. our hope at home is that what I write will bless our house, yes I think that's what above the house was a little too wide so I couldn't put the cross as I originally planned and was to leave it as is and Place the base inside the house, so I'm going to remove the cross from the base.
It was super easy, it was just screwed together and then I'll tilt the cross a little so it fits in there. and you can read the word home and I used a mixture of E6000 and hot glue and this was a simple makeover but I really love how it turned out. I grabbed this big wooden chicken from Michaels uh in their spring section and I thought I know I'm going to do some Farmhouse with that so I just take a piece of printer paper and push it around the edges so I know where I can write and what What I was thinking was that I was going to put Grandma's chicken noodle recipe um in this um chicken here um I ended up not writing to Grandma, I don't know why, but I took a chance here and wrote recursively, which there was no done in a long time and then so here is the article I made.
I wrote it in a pencil case. I made a mistake, so I just copied it. I scanned it into my computer and then I printed it on a piece of ivory colored paper that was like resume paper and then um and then also now you can't like it to smudge because it's not a pencil anymore and you can make it as dark as you want, so now I'm going to do the same thing again pushing it over the edges and then I'm going to take my water pen and I'm going to go over the edges that I want to break and then I'm going to break them.
Now Dollar Tree has these in particular. I already had them from another craft company, but I know Dollar Tree has them. just fill it with water and squeeze it and then the water gets to your brush or you can just use a brush and dip it in water anyway it makes it very easy to tear and makes it just tear where you want. I wanted to break, you know, accidentally, like break the recipe, so once I break it all down, I go into my paints and try to find the closest color and it was Ivory, a Waverly chalk paint and then I'll go ahead and paint my whole chicken here with that same color.
I wanted to talk about this um pad here so I bought it on Amazon so it just pops up with the magnet that's on the bottom so you can store it flat and you pick it up and put the water on. and then you can see how it has little ridges on the bottom, so when you clean your brush you can rub it there and get the paint off your brush. You see there are like three small holes in each one. side so you can put the base of your brush on there as you can see I can put my paints on top and this is a silicone mat so it just washes right away so now that step right there is I was leaving Mod Podge, so I'm going to go ahead now and Mod Podge, you can see it's a very good combination, so I go ahead and put Mod Podge on everything, now it got bubbly, so I push. trying to blow out as many bubbles as I can and was trying to remember what the technique is.
I learned so many techniques and then when I use it again I think what it was so off camera I remembered it was use your heat gun while it dries and as soon as I put that heat gun on the bubbles they immediately disappeared like this which I thought, oh yeah, that was it, so here you can see I've got it nice and flat, now I'm taking it. My shaving brush here and I'm using a little bit of Waverly's antique wax and I'm going to go around the entire chicken here and put it against the edges and then I'm going to start using a little bit more to distress it. the recipe and I was really hoping it looked like it was an old recipe, um, on this chicken and how cute it is, uh, my daughter is almost nine years old and she loved this project, she said she wants to hang it in her and I's room.
I just thought it was really funny because I didn't think this would necessarily be something she would want and by the way, it's not like my grandmother's recipe. I just googled a recipe and typed it in there but I thought it was so cute she really enjoyed this project but I think it would be a cute addition to your kitchen. I also want to take a second here and invite you to my Instagram page. I'm Dollor mom. I share many home organization tips. tips, all kinds of stuff on that page and it's just a place where you can get to know me a little bit better and you can always text me and ask me any questions and I'll be happy to answer them so this is a super simple makeover.
Like I don't know how I feel about this sign, oh real quick I'm going to say one was $22 so I bought it for $220 with their 90% off and the frame came off very easily. What I was going to say is I'm not sure I like this. Yesterday's home runs don't win today's game. It seems a little harsh, harsh, like your son likes baseball and you say things like that. I'm not sure how I feel about that saying. I feel like it's not entirely positive, so that's probably why it was on clearance. I'm just telling him there were little nails and I'm going to remove them.
I was nailed on that frame, but they were actually like I said that. The frame came off very easily and I decided that since this has a paper design, like a poster attached, I'm going to turn it over and use the back and as usual, I'm going to use my restum paint and linen chog because it's my absolute favorite and I use it all the time. um, I'm just going to put it on. I'm not going to give it a full coat. I like that rustic look when you don't do it completely. cover the board, this sign, whatever you want to say and I just go to my Cricket and make a vinyl that says "I've never made a vinyl this big" and I learned all the things not to do and I don't show them to you. put it on because it was kind of a disaster, but I put it on and everything was fine now, but yeah, you didn't need to see me struggle, struggle.
I think you all know how to put vinyl on a sign in case you don't. I'm going to put it up there and you can see a video that was a little bit easier finyl and I'm just going to use a little bit of wood glue to stick this sign on and that's literally all I could do. making a nice big sign for my house with a wonderful frame, a wooden frame and that's it, it was very easy to make and for $220 it's a good deal for this first Trash to Treasure project. I'm going to use all of these. paintbrush sticks, so I use a lot of these, um, from Dollar Tree and other places, and they don't last very long, maybe a couple of applications, so when I was done with them, I just took the top off, threw it away, and I held. to these handles and I knew that one day I would come up with a project for them, so I've been keeping them in a drawer and then this collaboration came up to do Trash to Treasure, so here we go and then of course. this is just a can, it was a can of green beans and I'm just going to glue these sticks around the can and as you're gluing them, you want to pay attention, try to make sure they're facing up. and down as much as possible and then you also want to make sure it's flush with the bottom so if you're putting it on your desk just press down a little bit so you know it's all flush because you want this sit, you know, without being crooked or what to the side or something, so make sure you do that, but usually once you have one there, it's pretty easy to put them all over the place, so I got this from catching and What it is is like a kind of painter's tape and it comes in large sheets.
Comes in larger sheets. Comes in smaller sheets. It comes about the size of a ribbon and is great for painting. Let's say you're painting a bedroom and I know how you're going to put them up like a drop cloth or something underneath, you can peel them off and stick them to the floor and they come up very easily so if some paint falls on that's where it goes so I have some of these to try. to put on my table when I'm crafting and when I'm painting and it's an easy clean up so it's as easy as peel and stick and now I'm going to take my restum and linen chalk paint and I'm going to cover the sticks and the can and I'm going to be very generous with the paint.
I want it to fall between each handle, so I'm just going to stick it in there and then I'll come. Go back over and then give it a nice clean wipe with the brush so it's not thick anywhere, so I'm going to do that all the way where I grew B once again. I'm also painting the inside of the can right at the top so that when I fill it here, if there's anything showing, it won't look like a can and now that the paint is dry, I'm going to take a little bit of this. You can't really call it tape, but it's a roll of chicken wire that I bought at Hobby Lobby and I always buy this stuff for half price and it will last me a long time.
I mean I'll probably spend about $3 on it, maybe even less, but I'm just going to cut a strip to fit around the container here and since it has a little bit of wiry edges, I can just fold them together when I wrap it. in every way I hope it makes sense so I don't have to use any glue or adhesive. What are you doing today? Remember when we stole your mother's car and drove for days. I'm going to have some of this. gray check or buffalo check whatever you want to call it tape and I'm going to put it right around the top of the can so it's that space between the handles and the can that we were on.
I remember thinking if I could. stop time and now I'm just going to add a simple little bow to the front, damn you didn't do what people could look at, they didn't give a damn because all I needed was my friend a long time ago, when a long time ago, when back. Okay, now I'm going to drop some floral foam in here with some greenery and you could use this as a pencil holder, actually, whatever you want to use it for. I love having little vase type things with greenery in it. to add to my decor definitely just adds something.
I usually place it on a stand. I can stick it on the back. I just have a lot of vegetation. Pieces like this that I really think I will add to my decor. I know my settings and everything and then it was just moving a little bit, so I'm just going to glue the bottom down here and then just to cover the floral foam on the top, I'm going to use some Spanish moss to um, fill those spaces and voila, our dream would take us this far, but after about a week everything fell apart, but we were taller than the SE.
I'm going to use this Michaels sign, you could easily use this one. one here from Dollar Tree too um like I said I just had this one from Michaels for a while and I just liked um how it looked a little better um any of these metal words also from Dollar Tree um they come with so many different words now again I have this G, I pick one up, it was kind of a weird loner there on my thing, so I don't know if it's from Dollar Tree, it's probably from Target Dollar Spot and then these little metal ones, um, Pig. and the cow and the rooster are from Dollar General, but Dollar Tree has created something similar so you could definitely use those too and then I'll take some thumbtacks here and push them along the bottom of the sign here and hang them up.
I just think it's very cute. Well, an alternative is to print these three animals on your printer and then trace them onto a piece of cardstock or poster board, um, and then you can personalize them however you want. I would like to hang them too, that would be a very affordable option if you can't find something like these, but I know Walmart has something similar and Hobby Lobby does too. It's pretty easy nowadays to find these ways and then I just go. To glue this joint together, I just used a little super glue to fix it all up.
I mean I got this from a Dollar Tree and it was squirting so I grabbed a stick real quick to save what was squirting so I'm going to use this along with some hot glue to give it that instant bond and then this project will be complete. I think it's super cute and will look good in the kitchen as it's a really easy trash to treasure. I bought something in this cute little town called Jacksonville Oregon and it's this little rusty wire. I thought it would be added to some projects and oh my goodness the store was thecuter, yes it was only $2.95 for this, the store was so cute anyway.
This is how they packaged Get ready for this cute bag that I am going to DIY with and this tissue paper oh my gosh I was so in love with the tissue paper I wanted to buy more at the store just for the tissue paper actually , I looked for it. Amazon and I found something very similar to this tissue paper so I will link it below if you want to get something like this for yourself, it fits almost perfectly on this tray and this is a tray I bought last time at the dollar place aim. year, it was a, I have two of them and one of them is outside and on my porch on a side table and that's where I keep sunscreen and bug spray and all that stuff. and it held up really well, so I had this other one and I wasn't really sure what to do with it, so when I started thinking about how I wanted to use this scarf, I didn't really want to cut it, I was trying.
Thinking about how I could keep it without you knowing how to put something on top and hide the pattern, so I thought, Oh my gosh, I'll modify this all the way to the bottom of the tray and it'll look so cute and I just have to cut it out as soon as it's almost the exact size and I'll just cut it out. I'll modify on that tray and then add some Buffalo Cheick tape to the handles, that's it for this Trash to Treasure I think. It took that pan to another level, so as you can see, I used a very thin layer, I didn't want to get it too wet.
I saw someone use this technique and I don't remember who it is or I would tell you, but Using a little Saran Wrap over the top of the scarf will help keep it from tearing and you can smooth it out because if you smooth it right on the top, the scarf It would break. Actually, I remember who. Well, I don't remember his name, but it was someone I'd never met before, so I don't remember his name, but I saw her do it and I thought that's great advice and it really worked well, it helped me. I removed the wrinkles and it's still a little wrinkled but nothing that bothers me, like I said once I have all that I'm just going to add some G tape and the project will be complete.
It's when photos of us appear again that they come back. like a wave makes me wonder what happened what are you doing today do you remember when we stole your mother's car we drove for days teenagers with too many feelings and R we were just remember what people are this project is so easy I feel like I can barely call it a day but I bought this tobacco basket from Target Dollar Spot for $3 and then this rack is from Dollar Tree so for $1 this whole project cost me $4 and I found that it fits perfectly in the bottom of this basket and I'm just going to use a little E6000 and a little hot glue for instant adhesion and this is actually a very sturdy shelf and is the cutest thing to decorate and add to your decor.
The hardest part of this is holding it with one hand. and stick it on the other one, so if you have help, another pair of hands isn't the worst, but I'm just trying to find the contact points between the shelf and the basket, so the nice thing about working with E6000 is you have space to move because it's not an immediate adhesive and then once I get it, I'm just looking around again, you'll see me just looking and finding another point of contact. and the nice thing about hot glue is that I can, as you see here, just stick it in there and do a lot of things and it gives it that really good adhesion and that's it for you.
That project, but look how pretty it is on the wall and

decorating

it. I love how it turned out. I hope you enjoyed these three super simple DIYs today. This DIY couldn't be simpler, but this calendar is so amazing that I bought it from this artist. website on Etsy, the calendar is sold out, but they are still selling the prints, so you can purchase them just as sheets instead of calendar. This is the same designer who made the famous Dollar Tree calendar, so they are really good. This one is of much higher quality. so I'm going to make this sign double sided so I'm going to make a farmhouse sign and then I'm going to turn it around and make an Easter sign.
I really like to do this to save space. I do a lot. decoration and it takes up a lot of space so I'm trying to turn things around and make signs that way to reduce space so all I do is take this calendar sheet and place it right on this piece of wood and this wood sign . It's from Target Dollar Spot, it was $3, and magically it was exactly the right size, like that clock sticker. I don't know, it was meant to be that way, so I'm going to modify it and then I don't know. Take too long to cut it perfectly because I'm going to sand around the edges, which makes it perfect and also gives it that rustic look, SC, and now I'm going to turn it over and do the exact same thing, adding this bunny paper. bottom I don't know what was different with this one because I put them exactly the same way and somehow this side had a bubble, that's the only thing I hate about mod podges, sometimes a bubble appears, I'm not sure what I did , but anyway, I used all the techniques that I always use, after I sand it here, I'm going to add some Dollar Tree ribbon and I'll just make a cute little bow here and then I'll put that twine back to hang the side and that's it is done, this was the easiest DIY.
I feel like it's a gimmick, but it's a nice double-sided sign, just keep an eye out for cute calendars, papers, photos, all kinds of things you can easily make decorations with. I would love to know what you thought of today's music during this video, it's the only thing I get the most comments on, but you guys either love it or hate it, so I really want to find something that's enjoyable for everyone, so let me. You know in the comments below what kind of music you like to listen to during these DIY videos. Maybe you don't like listening to anything.
Maybe you just want me to talk and make jokes all the time. I mean, I can do that too, so again let me know in the comments below what kind of music you like, so I decided to renovate that little sign that I removed the house piece from in the first project, so I'm just taking some of this scrapbooking paper from Hobby Lobby. It's one of my favorites, it looks overlapping, it doesn't really look overlapping. I guess it's more like Barnwood. I'm not sure you decide and I'm going to cut out the square to add to the back now.
You saw from the beginning, I had some things printed on a piece of paper. I actually bought a little printable kit on Etsy that had some really cute Farmhouse pieces, so like I said, I bought that and then printed them out and cut them out. I'm going to cut them down to a size to add to this project, so I'm going to go ahead and modify the scrapbook paper and then you'll see again on the side, there I have the same black label that I used on the last project, plus that one. printable that I'll add to the tag and then I'll embellish it a little bit and add it to the sign and it's just a quick and easy little piece of decor that you can add or even put on a tear tray for and I wanted to give the edges and still had some paper hanging over the edge, so this trick works great too.
If you still have some paper just sand it and I still didn't think it was distressed enough so I took out one of my ink pads and with a sponge I just distressed the edges and here I'm just going to add my little bow and now the project is complete. Well, I grabbed another Dollar Tree sign and a bunch of these. metal words, so I had the alphabet, but apparently I only had M to M, so I couldn't do God and this with those little letters, but you could if you had the whole alphabet, so I go ahead and use these little ones wooden alphabets. that I bought from Amazon so now I have this board here and I'm going to cover it with that scrapbook paper that you see there on the left, it's a perfect wood, you're going to need two pieces because the sign is taller than 12 by 12 now for the back or what was the front, I sand a little bit of gloss and then add some Dollar Tree contact paper just to finish that backing so the wood, the Dollar Tree contact paper would also work on this.
I just don't think it looks that good, but this is what it looks like on the other side. Now I'm just going to sand around the edges to remove the excess paper. Okay, now. it's time to uh I'm just going to put the holes back in so I can put the hanging rope back in and then it's really a matter of gluing all the pieces back together um I don't use I can't. Remember honestly if I used hot glue or not, no I used super glue so I've been using SC super glue throughout this video more than E6000 because it came out a lot better out of the tube so that's just from Dollar Tree so again.
God bless this house, everything is attached, then I take one of the metal tags also from Dollar Tree and one of the crosses also from Dollar Tree, so this, plus the little wooden letter, this is all from Dollar Tree, so I'm just going to add this down, so I was having a hard time deciding where it was going to go, so I ended up putting it on the left, between the B and the H. I really liked having the cross as part of this sign and that is. It's for this project, another complete party of easy project.
