I mean there are about 25 DIY's and like I said some of them are repeats and others. no, but you choose which ones you want to add to your tray, there is a variety, let's get to that before we jump into all these DIY's, I'm going to dive right into the embellishment pack that I will be using for today's teardrop tray DIY, this one It's Fourth of July or Americana, I guess, the package of decorations that Linda and I came up with for this tray. It's available for digital download, which is an instant png download for two

dollar

s and fifty cents, or you can cut it out and ship it to yourself for free. shipping for five

dollar

s you can find the link to linda's etsy shop in the description box below the colors I will be using for today's teardrop tray is this crimson red from waverly this is a chalk paint this is a bottle I bought in line with this ocean blue, now you know I need to give them a rustic touch and to do that I'm going to use some of this burnt umber Apple Barrel Brown color is perfect for doing that and for the white I'm not using white.
25 dollar tree 4th of july tiered tray diy s quick easy diy s
I'm going with cream because it's rustic and cashew is perfect for that. I'll also incorporate some vintage Waverly wax. Can you tell this is a new bottle that I bought online too when I made these trays and I know I have a lot of pieces that I need to paint I like to make a batch of one color so that way I don't run out of that color and have to go back and remix it these crayon containers michaels has them in this size and a The smaller sizes are perfect for that so I'm going to start with the crimson red and of course this one is too bright so to give it a rustic touch if you buy some burnt umber apple barrels and just add them. the red you don't want to go too heavy with the brown at first, you want to start with a little bit of mixing and keep adding the brown until you get the dark, muted rustic color you're looking for. very

quick

ly I just wanted to show you all the difference in the pink color from what it was before to the rustic red that it is now by adding the brown.
I'm going to do the same with the crimson blue and as I'm pouring it, I can tell that I clearly didn't shake the bottle well enough, but that's okay, no big deal, we'll just stir it and it will be a darker pigmented blue. Hopefully we'll take it, so again, I'm just going. to add the brown paint and I'm going to do it little by little until I achieve the muted blue that I'm going for now that we have the decorations and the paint mixed, what do I have in store? for you, for the first and second DIY, I will say it's safe to say that these dollar

tree

wall decor pieces are pretty new.
I love them, they came in red and blue. For this DIY, we're getting two for the price of one because we're going to take this piece apart and I really wanted the words to stand out a little bit so I'm going to take cream cardstock because I'm going to use cream because we're going to use rustic if you want to use white Choose the white, choose the color you want. I'm going to cut a strip that's big enough to fit on the back of this and just hot glue it on there,

easy

lemon squeeze, no other glue needed. this is going to stick on and since I want it to be rustic I'm going to go ahead and add a twine bow on top and I'm not showing it either but I put two jenga blocks on the back of this because I wanted it to stay on foot.
I'm not sure where that footage was from, but you see he's standing and that's because of the jenga blocks in the bottom half. The truck is a little on the red-orange side. You may not see it yet, but when you put my rustic red next to it. It looks a little orange, I put a coat of red on top, it still needs a second one. I kept the highlighted areas that were originally there and just went in and filled in some pieces, filled in the blue of the flag and the stripes. Then, grabbing some of these cool wooden stars that you can find at Michaels by Creatology, you'll get 130 in this pack.
I love them. I'm going to incorporate them into this DIY and just paint a cream and add some stitching, I thought. just adding one to this flag was perfect. Here we are at DIY number three and for this one I'll be using these mini hats that come in a pack of five from Dollar Tree. They're obviously for the 4th of July, but I love that there are five. because we can use them on other tear trays seasonal tear trays for this one, I went ahead and took the paper off and gave it a good coat of my blue paint.
Big difference, huh, and of course I'm going to incorporate some. burlap all the way to the top here if you want to incorporate any other ribbon do it I just have to incorporate burlap because that's how I said rustic and I bet you didn't think I was going to add seams to these DIYs I'm and so on this one I'm using a little bit of cashew paint to add stitching and since I have 130 of these wooden stars, I decided to paint one red, add some cashew stitching to it and just put it here on the front of the hat like I'm looking at this.
I think something is still missing. Missing? I think I needed to add some stitching to the burlap so I went in with the red and added now I'm happy with DIY number four. Do I have a reservation for you? I'll be using some of these wood craft cubes from Crafter's Square. What am I going to do with these? OMG this is so

quick

and

easy

and the result is can I say so stinky? I'm going to stack four of them by gluing them together with a little aleene glue, then I'll stack three and then two. I'm making two of this DIY, so if you want to make two with me, here's what to leave behind.
I gave them a couple coats of fun paint to make them different and again, since I have two sets, I made both sets the same. I'm going to take some twine and I'm going to tie a double knot in the thread at the base of the knot I'm going to go ahead and cut it once I cut it I'm going to put some hot glue at the base of the knot and I'm going to place this knot of thread here on the top of these firecrackers how cute is that and to these firecrackers I'm going to add some of the stars that come in the embellishment pack if you want to hand paint them I say go for it I wasn't feeling super artistic with a brush today, so I thought I'd go the safe route and just add the decorations and there we just made a cute set of mini firecrackers.
Look, we're nine minutes in and we're on DIY number five for this one. We are going to make this wooden toy car that is at Crafter Square that you can find in the craft aisle, but I will say that from time to time you can find them in the toy aisle. I'm going to make this an American race car, how fun. is that, so I'm going to give it a nice base coat of red. I didn't really want to use black paint for the wheels because, again, what is this tray? It's rustic so I decided to use some of the old wax and I loved the way it looked on the wheels and for this we made up a number four for the car number as clues on the 4th of July, how fun is that and I went in and I added some stitching too and for the little head on top for the racing driver I chose some cashew and thought it would be cute to add stars as space for the wheels, how fun is that, now I'll tell you here's an example from my cricut it's not calibrated very well you can see the stars weren't cut perfectly and for some reason i'm having trouble with the cricut design space and calibrating my cricut the only way you can calibrate it right now is on your ipad but when I'm calibrating it, not all my cuts come out even so I'm not sure what's going on but this is an example of that so when your cuts aren't perfect you need to recalibrate your cricut and I.
I may have to do a hard reset on my Cricut Explore Air which I haven't done yet but yeah when your cuts don't come out right it's because you have to guess what calibration, I didn't want to throw them away so I used them how cute This little racing car was left. I love it. Look at it. Here we are at DIY number six. What do I have in store for you? Using these wooden stars. Aren't these perfect year-round dollar

tree

s? You can get it even outside of the 4th of July, so with this I decided to turn it into a flag and to do that I wanted to start with a cashew base coat for the blue part of the flag.
I'm just going to go in and freehand this blue section here, I'm just going to do two of the points of the star, as you can see, what I'm doing here is nothing fancy, this is rustic, so it doesn't need to be perfect if you want it. be. Perfect, I would definitely use a ruler and after that I decided on stripes. I'd better use a ruler because I knew I couldn't get the stripes to be even, but I'm just going to look at the width between the stripes and get as many as possible. stripes on the bottom of this as I can and since I already made the cashew base, I just need to go in with my red paint and fill in the red stripes again.
I'm not looking for perfection, this is rustic, this is old, so any imperfections will give it character and of course I'll be diving back into that cool trim package for this tray. I'm going to add some stars to the blue and I thought it would be fun to add something a little different and add this ornament that says earth I love I love this DIY number seven it's an original creation by kelly barlow what am I making with popsicle sticks a picnic bench You can see how I put it together here with the cross pieces that are going to be the legs of the table, so using a ton of hot glue, I'm going to put a good amount on there and I'm going to place the leg right against it, just like you see me doing here once it's so hot. the glue dries and hardens these legs will stay in place I promise and I'm going to do that on both sides you can see the healthy amount of hot glue I'm using just do it it will work and it won't work.
To show if you have a better way to do it, I'm telling you to do it, but this is the design I came up with, so it will work to get the bench part. I guess from the table you can't even see what I'm on. doing here, oh, now you can. I'm going to cut just a couple small pieces of popsicle stick and I'm going to glue them to the legs just like you see here, hold on because now it's going to get easy and then I'm going to place. a little bit of glue along this top edge like this, then taking this piece here, it's going to go right on top, giving us half a picnic bench, but we're going to have a full picnic bench because we're going to do the same thing with the other one. .
On the side you can see that I gave it a good coat of antique Waverly wax because it's a picnic bench. We need to give it a rustic woody brown look, so I'm going to go ahead and paint on a tablecloth. Why am I painting on a? tablecloth and not just use fabric because I couldn't find rustic red fabric in my stash. I was happy with that combination. If you can find one I say go for it, it will give it more texture and add some character, but since I don't. I've got it, I'll make do with what I have and I'm just going to paint one now.
I don't want this to look like just a red diamond or part of a diamond that I added to this table, so guess what it is. I'm adding some seamsWhy? Why not? I think I'll add something to it. No, add something. I don't think I know. I love the way the seams look, don't you? Since I had a bunch of these little jars left over from my lemonade stand, I thought this would be the perfect size to make a sort of planter to go on top of our picnic bench, so of course I'll give it a good layer of cashew and I'll add some twine to the neck. just to cover up what we're going through here and yes I'm not going to forget the seams on this either, these flowers are the perfect size to add to this pot so I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue around the top edge of the pot , I guess I'm going to put these flowers there and I'm going to stay and I'm going to stick this flower pot on top of my picnic bench.
It sucks cute, it's just so easy to do, I love this, oh yeah, and I'm going to finish it off with a twine bow and there. There you have it, moving on, we are on dollar tree number eight, it always has these LED stars so I thought they would be quick, easy and a really fun addition because they light up, we need a lighting element right? and this blue simply. It doesn't work for me, so why not apply some paint? Why? Why not? I'm going to make a blue star and a red star moving forward. We're at DIY number nine at the 16 minute mark.
What do I have in store? I bought these wooden rollers a couple of months ago on Amazon. I mean I bought a pack of 15 for less than 10. You can find the link to these in the description box below in my Amazon store. I just thought these were too. How cute and stinky to pass up and what a fun addition, now again this is an option if it's not something you want to incorporate, you don't have to, but the fact that I got a pack of 15 for less than 10 I thought this would be such a fun addition and such a versatile piece that we could add them to every tray and it would look just as pretty, so with this I'm going to start with a base layer of cashew in the center. apply the second coat of cashew after the first coat dries and while this second coat is wet I'll add a little bit of red to this and just dry brush over that red mixing it with the cashew gives it that blurry, cloudy look .
Now I know that when I add this red to the cashew it will give it a pinkish tone, but that's okay because I'm going to take and make the handles red and when you do that, everything will come together and you'll lose the pink in the center anyway, it felt too simple so I used the blue and added a solid blue line with some stitching on one of my yarn bows oh my goodness we're already at ten we're doing these DIYs today. We have all seen these pallets on the dollar tree because the wood on each end of this pallet is not proportional to the boards that are in the center.
I wanted to cut them in half, so just taking a ruler and my pencil and drawing a line down the center will give me the illusion of two extra boards. Why do I want that? Because I'm making a rustic flag with this palette. How great that the pallets are rustic, they are very trendy and what a fun piece to add. By alternating my red and my cashew, I'll add the stripes to my flag and again for the blue section of the flag. I'm just going to do it freehand, I'm not looking for perfection, this is nothing very sophisticated.
The freehand will give it a more rustic feel and give it that handmade look that we are looking for for this and instead of putting stars I wanted to put this heart ornament, it's kind of a faded glory type heart which I love, it has stars and I thought it was perfect for this, what a fun, quick and easy piece, right? Look what we are. now diy 11. What do I have in store for you for this one? A simple dollar tree candle. This is an apple and cinnamon one. I love the color. It was perfect. So just to add to it, I'm going to add a little bit of thread. the collar, finish it off with guess what twine bow, bet you didn't see that coming and this cute little ornament from the USA look how easy it is, we're not going to light this candle so don't worry people it's Just for decoration, we're at number 12.
For this DIY, I'll be using these mini glass jars that come in a two-pack of cooking essentials, just a little tip when you see cute glass jars like this one for a buck. tree, you have to seal them because you have to get it while getting it is good, and these are too cute to pass up, so when I see them I pick up maybe three or four packages, which gives me eight of them, which is perfect for our tear trays I'm going to give it a quick coat of guess what color the cashew is while the jar dries I went and looked in my fabric for my fabric scraps and this is the only red one I could find and guess what it's not going to work I don't like the color but guess what we're going to do let's paint it why didn't I think of this before when I made the table I don't know because it just occurred to me Now, so let's do it.
Now I have a four by four inch square here and I'm just going to foam up a little bit of my paint. Look, I'm painting fabric. Who knew you could paint fabric? Yes, it will be like that. get stiff a little bit, but that's okay, we don't care if it's stiff, we just need the color, we need it rustic red, not this bright red, but if you're going to do bright red, leave it now because I didn't want to make several. layers of paint on this, I decided to just use some blue paint and trace the word mason jar.
If you want to do multiple coats of paint, say start with the blue and then move on to the cashew and then sand, can you? I just felt like this was quicker and easier and I just wanted to do it that way, so I'm going to go ahead and like I said, trace the raised letters that say mason jar, okay, I tried, I tried not to add seams to this , but it just looked too simple, it was missing something, so I decided to add some stitching to the top and bottom of the jar in blue and then I still felt like it was missing something, so I went back with the red and made a red one. stripe under the blue and now I'm happy with it and you can see here I went ahead and wrapped the fabric around the top holding it in place with some thread and one of my thread loops and I did it of course I can't help it. add stitching to the fabric diy 13 and this is a repeat but with a twist yes i love these frames why do i love these? because it adds height to the tray and when you have variations in height it is more appealing to the eye and to the piece itself and with this one I'm going to go in with some Waverly antique wax and give it a good coat and to this I wanted to add some stars because this It's the American theme I'm going with, so I've got four of my wooden stars that arrived.
Did I tell you a hundred and thirty pack for about three dollars at Michael's? It's worth it. You can also get them on Amazon, but why go to Michael's Creatology? Get it. Use a coupon. Are you OK. To go, I'm going to make two red ones and two blue ones and these cute little stars are going to surround the outside of this frame. How fun is that. Oh shoot, I didn't show you how I painted the seams, yeah, of course. I added stitching to this all over. I can not get enough. Have you heard that before?
I can't and again I'll say this if stitching isn't for you then don't put it on it's for me so I'll put it on everything I can where I can and for this piece we came up with a really cool embellishment that says ring the freedom, how festive it is, are we still there? No, we are in DIY 14. I bought another one. of these pieces of garland at Easter time it was a bunny it's the 4th of July so guess what a star is we're going to throw away this garland because I'm not going to lie to you I despise it I don't like glitter garlands it's horrible what love about these is the shape that comes under them and with this one you not only get one star but you get two for the price of one because this star mold falls apart this will be a burlap star but because I can usually see through the burlap and I don't want to see the mold that I dug into my pieces of felt and I'm going to sandwich this star between two pieces of felt and just placing a little bit of hot glue right along the outside of the star and pressing the felt, you're going to mold the felt around the star once you have it all hot glued, just go in and cut off the excess felt, then you're going to go ahead and sandwich it between two pieces of burlap and look you can't see through of it, not even the best burlap can be seen, so I would definitely cover the mold first and again we are going to repeat the process by placing a little hot glue along the outer edge of the belt, not on the felt over the burlap on the outside of the felt and we are going to press it, molding it around the star so that we can then go in with some scissors and cut the excess burlap.
You all know how much I love burlap, but it's still a little plain because look how it's missing some red stitching and some blue stitching that you can see on one of the tips of the stars. I cut the burlap too funky and messed it up so I went in and did some patch work it's not going to show because guess what it's going to go there a bow of twine perfect to cover my mistake a mistake there you go another word that goes in Kelly Barlow's vocabulary dictionary, ha, word of the day, people, and with this.
Although I finished it with a yarn bow, I had some extra die-cut embellishments from the handy die-cut embellishment pack that, I told you, was designed just for this teardrop tray. I decided to add some words to it. Let's take a quick look. In some of the repeat DIYs and the twist that I gave them for this tray, we're going to start with one of my favorites to incorporate and these are books and for this one we put the ring of freedom dies on it. and of course I finished it off with a string bow another of my favorites is the birdhouse now obviously these are incorporated into this tray because they are my favorites all my favorites that I like to incorporate and so if you haven't seen me do it You can take a look at the two last trays, the lemon tray and the Easter tray, and you will see exactly how I made them.
I'm also incorporating the beads because I love these beads and of course on Sunday, this Sunday is awesome if you come back to I want to see how I made this. I also did this on the last two trays. We have the piece. This is perfect for this tray. How could I pass this up on the dollar tree? I saw this and said it had to be it. Put it on this tray, isn't it peace? July 4, Independence Day. Yes, my wood plaque using the 4x4 wood plaques that come. I mean, in a five-pack, maybe an eight-pack.
Yes, my paper label that I painted with freedom. die cut, these are so easy and make great additions to a tray, as space fillers. I wanted to get this tray up early so everyone could pick up some of these items. Dollar Tree has this 4th of July bucket that is just adorable. I replaced the ribbon around it with twine, I added daisies because I love daisies and the pick at the top and of course I had a lot of scrabble tiles left over so I thought I'd put them together and give us a message about how patriotic I am .
I wanted to show you the alternative to a tiered tray that I brought you last Wednesday on my dollar tree tour. This will run you seven bucks and is a huge space saver if you're looking for something a little smaller than the tiered tray itself, look who we've got here. Caleb Creations doing a voiceover on my latest farmhouse milk jug DIY. If you need a good laugh, you'll want to head over to his channel and watch today's video. find the link to this video, guess where in the description box below what is my favorite DIY on this tray.
I don't know, but I can tell you that the colors I love are rustic burgundy red and rustic blue and of course I had them. I'm going with cashew because I can't use white. Now remember that this is a versatile piece, so if the colors I'm using are definitely not for you, you can change them very easily to suit the colors you like, but everyone knows that. I have a very rustic person and those bright reds, blues and whites just don't go with me so I had to mute them and I love it because I feel like it really gives it that Americana feel which I love, I hope you all enjoyed the tray diys tears of today's 4th of July and this whole series that I bring to you.
