So, with all that said, let's look at what's changed for

2020

. From the start, Hyundai has made some major adjustments to the trim structure to align it with the way the new palisade is configured. SE and SEL still exist, but SEL. plus has been eliminated in favor of the SEL with Convenience Package. The previous Limited trim is now known as the SEL with Premium Package and the previous Ultimate trim will now be called the Limited. But anyway, once you get past that confusion, you'll see Although not much has changed in terms of exterior design, it still sports Hyundai's newest sculpted design language, but with a little revision, this darkened chrome trim is now included in all limited colors, not only in certain colors, that the trim piece connects with the headlights, which are undoubtedly the design feature that stands out the most.

What we get are the 18-edge contrast alloys that come on the SEL with the Convenience package and on top of that you can't get 19-inch alloys now. but only if you get the optional inch turbo, and then both the SE and SEL come standard with 17-inch wheels. Next we have the mirrors which are always electrically adjusted, manually folded and heated with turn signals on the limited version and above.

But for 2020, it should be noted that blind spot monitoring is no longer a standard. Therefore, you will need to obtain at least the SEL. However, despite that change with BSM, all other active safety features remain standard on every SantaFe. That includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic headlights, which is certainly an impressive set of features. But anyway that covers all the exterior details and changes, so now let's go ahead and move on to the interior. So in the SantaFe, the vast majority of models will find the smart entry system with this really.
Nice keychain made by Hyundai. All but the basic SC will have this system. Well, you'll notice that the remote star isn't on the keychain like on the new Palisade, but it's still available through the Blu Link app. entering the vehicle Hyundai does not place a sensor behind the handle. So what you do is just press this little black button. Ok, checking out the cabin of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. As you can see, it is truly exclusive. Look, of course, the same as last year, as it was completely redesigned. Now, when it comes to colors and materials, Hyundai keeps it very simple.
So in your SE and SEL models, you'll have a cloth seat material, but when you go out to the SEL model with the premium package or this limited one, that's where you'll get the leather and then as far as your color options, you have three. available in black, beige or gray and that's in all the trims, no matter what interior material you select. Now go here to the edge of the door, it's very nicely finished as you can see. You have a really nice faux leather material that goes all over. here with the color contrast stitching You get this material with a really nice texture and the upper is also very well padded.
As for the windows, they roll up and down automatically with OneTouch for both drivers and front passengers. And you'll also notice the memory seats that are exclusive and limited. Coming back here to see, only the bass Se will come with a manual seat. All the rest of the trends will come with an 8-way power seat. With 2-way lumbar support, except this limited model which adds the four-way lumbar support as well as the really nice power by extension And then as I already mentioned, this of course is the real leather seat, it feels great , they have a very good mix of materials with the perforation here in the color contrast stitching and it definitely looks very good.
So obviously, fresh off a complete redesign, you won't see any big changes to the design or materials of this cabin. So they continue to be very high quality now at the very top here. This is hard touch, but all parts are lower and more accessible. All of these are soft to the touch, including a nice leather wrap material here with the color contrast stitching, and you also notice that same textured material flowing seamlessly from the top of the dash. the edge of the door. Going down you will also find more nice materials. So you have a nice area of leather for your knee to rest on with more color contrast stitching and then the actual fit and finish is excellent.
Now in all the basic models you have. home button And when you press it, you will notice that a touch screen lights up on all models. It's usually seven inches, but on the limited model it's just this higher-resolution eight-inch screen. Now what we're looking at now is One of my favorite aspects of the Santa Fe is this really nice reconfigurable gauge cluster here as standard on all models except the base model and like I said, it's completely reconfigurable. So here you can click on several different functions using the steering wheel mounted buttons. You can browse all kinds of information.
It just has a really cool design. You saw the startup animations, for example, and there are a lot of different things you can do with them. That also brings me to one of the changes of 2020 and that is that we now have the blindsight monitor that first debuted in the stockade. now here in Santa Fe only on a limited basis. So what happens here is that when you point in one direction or the other, it works in both directions. You'll see a small police camera here to show your blind spot. And it's worth noting that this doesn't take the place of blind spot monitoring, you still have that system too.
So it's not the same as Honda's lane watch system, which would take the place of blind spot monitoring. When anyway, beyond that, we also have a health screen for emphasis. the main indicators, this is also exclusive limited. Now, getting back to your steering wheel, of course, it has electrically assisted steering and the steering wheel itself is leather wrapped; the SEL may be your packaged model. Now, as far as the buttons, it's here you just have the traditional buttons, so you have your phone's voice commands and audio controls on this side. You have the buttons for the cruise control and this button to cycle through the multifunction display to the wipers here, they are rain sensors only on the limited model and the steering wheel will always be manually adjusted, but it will also be heated here on the limited model.
Now, moving on to the very important topic of interior storage, the Hyundai Santa Fe has definitely done a great job, so we'll start under our center console here, as you can see, you've got a little tray here. This is removable and underneath you have a really large storage area with a nice belt liner at the bottom. Opposite that, they've included another very large storage area, two cup holders. And then in the front, you have this huge storage area right here. As you can see at the bottom here. We have a Qi wireless phone charger that has actually expanded its availability this year and is now available. the SEL Convenience package model, which is equivalent to the previous SEL plus model and was produced not to have it in 2019.
But if you don't have a phone that uses it, you still have all your traditional connections here. So you have USB charging, regular USB and auxiliary jack and a 12 volt outlet. Now back to the shifter, this is just a traditional shifter. So there is nothing complicated here. Pull back to drive left. It is simply manual. However, there is no anti-paddle shift in the Santa Fe. And when we reverse here in the limited model, you will notice another interesting feature and that is that we have the 360-degree camera system that is only here in the model limited.
There are many different views that you can switch between to get the traditional corner views. They all have active trajectory as you can see and we also have front and rear parking sensors. Now, as far as your other models go, of course, you will have it. has a regular camera But you will also have rear parking sensors on the model with SEL convenience package and above And you will also notice that the mirrors tilt down to help you see parking lines better And another cool feature is that all models, even the most The base model comes with the electronic parking brake, as well as the future holding brake.
Now, as for the other buttons around this area, this button turns the parking sensors on and off, the auto start/stop system on and off. And then we also have a driving mode selector, so when we switch between a few different driving modes here, we have Comfort Sport and then a smart mode and as you can see, it changes the layout on the multifunction display here, which without It's definitely a great touch. So our next step on the dashboard will be our climate controls. Now what you are seeing is the automatic dual zone configuration. This is standard on the SEL Convenience model and above.
And they've done a really excellent job of making this sound very ergonomic. All buttons are physically located here. So you have two large dials to adjust the temperature for the driver and passenger. Fan speed buttons. here zone button So that everything is very well distributed. You don't have to go up to the screen or search for any of the functions. Now, just below, you have the buttons for your climate controlled seat. You will now notice that it has three-stage heated seats. That's actually standard on the Model SEL. Then you can't have the heated seats with LT dual-zone automatic climate control.
However, ventilation is only limited. Okay, now that brings us here to our audio system. Now I couldn't actually find the number of speakers or the specifications on the bass sound system. However, surprisingly the vast majority of models come with the upgraded system. It's a 12-speaker infinity audio system with 630 watts and is standard on SEL Comfort and above. Like I said, that's most models. So let's go ahead and take a sample of that. I'm really impressed by the sound system like I said. Definitely great that they include this on so many trim levels because it sounds like something you'd expect to find only on the top-end model and the models with this sound system have these really nice speaker grills.
And that's just not a touch I expect to see in this class of vehicle at this affordable price. But anyway Now we'll go ahead and take a quick look at Hyundai's blue link system. As this is the same blue link system that we have seen on all recent Hyundai models. I'm going to go over this real quick, but I'll just go over some basic functions here. You have a home screen and different sections that you can click directly on, like your Bluetooth audio. You can also click here all. Menus This takes you to all your different apps in one list for you.
Then you will notice some important things. I want to point out. They will be Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Those are standard on all trim levels, not just the models with this big screen. And I think Apple Carplay Android Auto is our new standard for the base. This year's modelNow, as for integrated navigation, we have it here in the limited model. At this time, SD cards are not installed. But we have that it is exclusive limited. Those are really the main features I wanted to point out. However, we do have a dedicated and really detailed Tech Help Video available.
For those of you who want to learn more, there will be a link to that video in the description. Now, going up here, we have an auto dimming mirror, as you can see, it has some built in. Homelink Universal Remotes Plus a compass and some blue link buttons over here So a really cool feature is this very large panoramic sunroof. It's actually standard on the premium SEL model and it's limited and as you can see, it's really really big and this front. The portion opens much further than a normal sunroof. And you will also find a windshield.
And as it closes, you'll probably notice this cloth material here. This is a special fabric material. It's reserved for limited people and definitely provides a really unexpected level. Look, like I said, you just don't expect in this type of class of vehicle, but overall, that sums up how I feel about the Santa Fe overall. This cabin offers you much more than you expect at this price, Hyundai. It's really good to always do that and the Santa Fe is no different. It just has so many features, so much unexpected luxury, and at the same time has a price that undercuts the competition by thousands of dollars.
When you turn off the vehicle, you will notice that the seats recline for easy entry and exit. Now it's also worth mentioning that no one has gotten in and out of the back seat yet. But we do have the rear seat reminder system standard on all models. And that would activate if someone had opened to close the rear doors. Alright, it does that for the front areas. Now go ahead and pass it on to my brother Mason who will check all the backyards. Very good. So, heading to the second row of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, you're going to find a really big amount of space.
You'll find 41 inches of rear legroom and 39 inches of rear headroom. Which, like I said, is a huge amount of space. Even for its class, at best, the Nissan Murano is on par with the Ford Edge. passing here to the edge of the door. It is a very nice design. Hyundai hasn't skimped on materials back here. So you have a leather covered part up to here. It has contrast color stitching and I also love the speaker grill now on top because you have a power. window However, it is not automatic. And in this limited version, it has two-stage heated rear seats and on top of that it also has a rear window sunshade that comes on the SEL Comfort and above and that rotates towards the seat itself.
It's a really nice design. It is lined in leather, it is very comfortable and it also slides when climbing. Now, here at the center, Hyundai has given us many interesting features as standard equipment. So you will find these vents on all models and below you will find small ones. Storage compartment and numerous power outlets. So you get two smart charging USB ports as well as a household outlet on this top-of-the-range model. Now here in the center we have a folding armrest and cup holders at the end. And in a pop you'll find one of my favorite features of the Santa Fe and that's this beautiful panoramic sunroof.
It extends a really long distance. It actually goes behind the second row seats and really helps ventilate this cabin and to the side. We have a helper grip as well as some LED lights and a coat hook. Now, as far as spices go, like I said, this is one of the biggest deals in its class. You will find forty-one inches of rear. leg room. So behind your seating position you are definitely not going to have any problems and my feet can easily slide under the seat. Now let's hit some of them, they fall split 60/40, so to fold them just grab this little lever and they hold.
Now, coming to the tailgate, this hands-free power in SEL Comfort and above. So what I have to do is just hang back here and it will open up. Now, inside the trunk of the Santa Fe, you will be pleasantly surprised. with the amount of space once again You'll find 36 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seats and that expands to 71 cubic feet if you fold them down. Now, like I said, that's a very large amount of space, especially for its class. It's also in line with the Murano and Ford Edge. Now, as to how Hyundai finishes it, it is very well finished here.
We have a carpeted floor up to here and to the side. We have a small storage cubby, as well as a 12-volt outlet and buttons to power fold the second row. As you can see with the touch of a button. You can fold down the second row seats which is a very nice touch and very few in the class will give you that and under the floor. We also have plenty of storage space, as you can see. We've put quite a few things in there and there's even a second compartment here. So if we open it, you will find much more storage space.
These are actually very deep, probably 10 inches deep and as you can see there are three of them so you can put a lot of things under the floor with the same effect. Now, approaching the passenger seat, there are eight power steering in the top-of-the-range Manos. Now, in front of the passenger, you have good materials, as well as a nice little storage cubby right here. And the glove box opens to give you plenty of space. It is also moistened and up. We have a sun visor with mirror and light and it also detaches to some extent. But anyway, guys, that sums up all the rear features of the 2020 Santa Fe.
Not so I wouldn't go out on the road and see how the engine works. Alright, let's go ahead and talk briefly about the powertrain. Now this vehicle comes with two different options. As for its engine, the vast majority of models come with this configuration, this is a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine and as for power, it will produce 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Now Hundy also offers a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine for those who want a little more power. It is available as an option only on the premium SEL and limited model. And it will make 235 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, no matter which of those. you choose You have the option between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and it will always be combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
And finally, the last thing to mention here is fuel economy. It's definitely competitive in its class. So these numbers are quoted for the front-wheel drive versions of both engines. So with the base 2.4-liter engine, you'll be rated at 22 city, 29 highway, 25 combined, and then with the 2-liter turbo. a 20 City 25 Highway 22 Combined That's it for the specs. So let's go ahead and take it out on the road now from above. I'm going to go ahead and mention the auto start/stop system, since it's very hot outside and the activated climate control doesn't actually activate all the time. Only if from time to time.
So we'll go ahead and take a sample of how it goes. Its restart is certainly very smooth, there are no vibrations in the cabin or anything. And with some music on or whatever, I definitely couldn't do it. I won't be able to hear the engine at all. Okay, so take off for the first time with the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4-liter engine. The power is pretty good now. This won't blow your mind or anything like that. And one thing you may notice is the fact that the rivals we mentioned, the two-row midsize crossovers Nissan Murano and Ford Edge.
However, they actually come standard with a V6 or a more powerful four-cylinder turbo than this model now has. The common thing for this model is that it actually crosses over to the lower class, which would be like the Nissan Rogue rav4. In crv, it is often crossed with those vehicles because the price is totally competitive with that even though it is a class above. And that's what this engine aims for. This is the most common engine. This is what people usually opt for because it is a great

value

. You can get a model like this

full

y loaded here.
We're at 37k before we even applied discounts or anything. So it's certainly a great

value

in that sense. But are you getting back to the engine itself? You know, if you're worried about that, power is still plentiful. The other thing that's really enjoyable here on this country road is this combination of steering and handling. It's surprisingly good. The steering has a really natural feel that is frankly unusual for this class. Many crossover vehicles are generally much lighter and really numb. I have a very good sense of it. where the wheels are placed and it's not so light that you're just kind of spinning and you don't really have any idea what's going on and it's combined with a really well balanced chassis.
You can feel it, I'm sure Mason can attest to that when he goes around these corners and stuff. We stay pretty flat, we don't lean or roll and I mean, I really think in the lower class I think a lot of them have a lot worse body roll and stuff than this and this is bigger. I also believe it. I mentioned it earlier in the video, but you can see it in action here. They are blind bank monitors. That's all new for 2020 and it's in the limited release and as you can see, you know it's active and it even needs to be stopped, but of course the idea behind it is really When you move here, and you can really keep a good eye on it.
Your blind spot just appears there, right in the middle, unlike Honda's Lane Control, which would replace the blind spot monitoring that many people didn't like and also appears on this screen. They're like you know, it's out of the way. It's not in your line of sight, this seems like a much better integrated system to me because it's right in front of you and like I said, it's on both sides and doesn't replace your blind spot monitoring. As if I were navigating this path a little bit. I want to comment on how comfortable this car is, as you can see.
We just hit a pothole and this vehicle is very, very comfortable inside. Like we've been saying, you know. This really is a class above what most people cross and you will definitely notice it in terms of ride quality. It feels almost like a luxury car here. I am very comfortable, the seats are comfortable and it really is a quiet and comfortable place to spend time. I just want to get back to the steering and overall balance just because I'm actually quite impressed. Honestly, this is everything you could want in this segment of vehicles. We also have some drive modes here.
We'll switch, we were in smart mode, but what we'll do is switch to sport mode See how much difference it makes Definitely Really increases the throttle response It's certainly a lot more aggressive in that So you just get into it and we shoot right away The gauges change. I already mentioned that. Just stay calm. or sporty or design And the last thing I want to mention here really is the performance of the transmission: it is an 8-speed automatic transmission that shifts very smoothly, there is no jerk at all and it seems to have good shifting logic.
But overall, I'm definitely really impressed, the way this Fae scene drives. Similarly to the whole car, it just offers more than you'd expect at this price. You know, you're getting a more substantial car than a lot of other things you can buy. for this kind of price Okay, and now let's go ahead and talk a little bit about the price, obviously with any Hyundai you will find a lot of value, especially for its segments. So for the base model, it will start at twenty. six thousand nine hundred and ninety-five dollars, which is one hundred and fifty more than the twenty-nineteen model and it's worth noting that it includes destination, all of these prices will include the $1095 destination charge.
Now, if you want to step up to the SEL version that will reach twenty-eight thousand seven hundred and forty-five The SEL with convenience package. It's thirty thousand nine ninety five The SEL with premium and convenience package will be thirty three thousand seven hundred forty five And finally you have this limited top of the range model that starts at thirty six thousand seven hundred forty five dollars Now if you want all wheel drive, It will be an additional seventeen hundred and if you want the 2-liter turbo, it will cost eighteen hundred and fifty in the premium or limited SEL only.
Now, as we mentioned, this particular model is front-wheel drive limited. with the base engine AND we have some small accessories to go with it. So we have carpeted floor mats for 135 as well as a trailer hitch for 395 and then when you add the destination charge which is included in the price. I already told you. This particular model costs thirty-seven thousand two hundred and seventy-sevenfive bucks, which is pretty much top of the line for a Santa Fe line. Like I said, you can't get the optional all-wheel drive engine on that, but it's fully loaded as far as trim levels go and still represents a great value for everything you get here.
Absolutely and as I mentioned, the interior part, you know a lot of people cross this out with vehicles in the lower class actually and that's something they can do because it's so affordable, guys, did you enjoy seeing this in-depth look?
