Feb 27, 2020
Hi, I'm Mike, thank you very much for choosing this video today. I'm in Wilmington, North Carolina visiting Parkway Hyundai and reviewing the completely redesigned

2019

Hyundai Santa Fe. It's now on the

limited

trim level and I feel the pain. from the competitors right now because this is a fantastic vehicle, let's go ahead and check it out. This Santa Fe sits on Hankook 235 60 tires wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone gray finish with the alloy peeking out. He also has four. All-wheel disc brakes with vented disc rotors in the front and solid disc rotors in the rear.

The name of this color is machine gray and it is an appropriate name for this color. I guess it

look

s pretty good now and it matches well with the details of this vehicle, so here on the front along the entire front so it has this smoked chrome or metallic accent that goes under the daytime running lights and along along the front and across there they blend into the otherwise separate LED-powered daytime running lights up here there's a big emblem in Chrome it's the only really bright thing up here and

look

at that grille, there's a lot of flow. air, but with the contrasting colors it doesn't stand out too much.

More Interesting Facts About,

2019 hyundai santa fe limited ultimate in depth look in 4k...

I wonder what it would look like in a different color, like say white or something. The grille may appear larger than it really is, so the daytime running lights are here at the top, the headlights are down here in projector tubes and black bezels, they also have a functional vent in the wheel well. wheels on the outside and on the bottom is your fog lights are LED now the headlights are: projector tubes high and low beams the fog lights and daytime running lights are all LED now the turn signal on the front and rear It's powered by a tungsten filament inside a halogen-filled glass bulb so it's basically a standard bulb for the front and we're turn signals, everything else is expertly hidden LED, there's the adaptive cruise control sensor on the radar right here, so it doesn't stick out or look bad, it doesn't really detract from the overall design. here at the front, so looking at the profile, notice its sleek, long wheelbase.
2019 hyundai santa fe limited ultimate in depth look in 4k
You can see that it has plastic around the base under the doors, as well as around the wheel wells, around all the windows, and the gloss black pillars. and of course the rear windows are tinted, the front windows are not factory so you can go ahead and tilt the front windows if it's legal in your area and you have this solid glass appearance which in my opinion increases the appearance. then you have that metallic accent here on the side and it continues here on the rear, so you have it on the front, the sides and all the way around to the rear, the top of the body color side mirrors, like this how the handles and wheels match. this color very nice, this is what the key looks like, a really nice feeling key high quality and it has the top and bottom metal parts to lock and unlock the ability to open the power tailgate, also a panic button here , now, this is a proximity key designed so that you can put this in your pocket and use the vehicle 100%, you don't have to take it out, you can keep it with you, give it to me in a bag or whatever, let's press this button panic and see that the horn sounds like, oh, that's a loud horn, not a small BP horn, as you'd expect.
2019 hyundai santa fe limited ultimate in depth look in 4k
Many vehicles have this small BP horn. This is a loud, loud, deep horn that gets your attention if you're in traffic, as long as you have the key. with you it can be in your pocket in a bag, as long as it is close to the outside of the door, you can lock or unlock the doors by pressing this button, so let's go ahead and push it, it locks the vehicle. To unlock it, push it again whenever you feel the key is on the outside of the door, it will allow you to access the vehicle. Another thing.
I noticed this one has a physical key back here, so back there is the physical key. location of your physical key now, I assume this cover would come off or whatever, but I haven't tried it, but that's where the location of your physical key is, so before we look inside the vehicle, I want to point out something about this door now this is a big deal to me when you open the door you realize the actual door goes all the way to the bottom of the vehicle so when you close it it covers that whole side so you can get your car dirty and you're driving it When you get into the vehicle, the dirt remains on the outside of the door, that way this part stays relatively clean and when you put on and take off your pants or clothing in general, it doesn't get dirty when entering and exiting the vehicle. because usually your leg or some type of clothing touches the side of the vehicle when you enter and exit, and this is a big problem if you are going to a job interview. that and you show up with dirty pants or something because you were in a hurry and weren't paying attention and you got your pants dirty on the way in the vehicle not so good this helps with that by keeping the dirt out and inside the door frame, which I think it's a fantastic idea, so looking at the inside of the passenger side door, man this is nice, everything feels and looks great, the shine, the texture, everything looks fantastic and feels good, so it's soft.
The touch surfaces are on the top, soft, you have an accent here, it goes all the way down, it's kind of like a carbon fiber type light, I guess then you have the metal handles, this is a hard touch surface and then you have the soft touch it's like a vinyl type material around your arm with contrast stitching and a french design and look at the texture on the speaker grill oh man that looks good it's actually three dimensional and a speaker grill goes all the way to the end . underneath here it doesn't stop and goes all the way down here it's a nice touch and it's underlined with the Infinity name badge and that really nice metallic accent and then you've got the bottle holder and some storage here at the bottom you know it's extended. to the front position that way it's a little bit easier to get to and you can put papers or whatever okay so here's the threshold with the stamp plate with the Santa Fe name on it, nice power seat here for the passenger and get on. lowers, tilts, forwards, I'm in the back and then you have the tilt here, so it has a lot of versatility for a passenger seat, normally this is

limited

to forward and backwards and then you tilt the backrest and that's it, so this one has all that functionality in the passenger seat is a heated leather seat so you can see it has soft leather with stitching on the outside as you move towards the middle it has perforations and stitching really nice comfortable seats . the bolster on the side, a big, nice, comfortable bolster on the side, it's not intrusive, it just gives you a really planted feel in these seats, a soft touch surface here on the side for your knees and also for...
It's very nice, you have to feel that first. When you see this vehicle in person fill the dash, it has a really nice, smooth quality feel to it, this multilevel has that little accent on the front and then you also have a storage pocket here, look at this and that's nice. Quick access and has a small lip so your things don't fly away when you step on the floor. Look at the glove box, big and nice, smooth inside, easy to clean, the glove box and the floorboard are wide, as if they are not conical. maybe a little tapered there but it gets even better as you go down there, it's nice wide in space and has a little hook there to keep the mat in place so it doesn't slide around.
Look at this headliner, it's like gray and looks and feels fantastic, not to mention the huge panoramic sunroof, look at that, we'll get to that a little bit later, but man, you gotta check that out too. when you see it in person there are a lot of interesting things about this vehicle, they even improve here on the rear door, in fact you have the same door design where it goes all the way to the bottom, you have basically the same design here, almost without the carbon. soft touch fiber type accent here as well as around its arm, it has the contrasting stitching, French design, a small stand right there, a three-dimensional textured speaker grill underlined with the metal, plenty of storage space on the bottom and It has a shadow so it can go down. raise and lower the blind in addition to the privacy glass and that's nice and it has a nice aluminum sill plate on the threshold.
We have basically the same style seats back here, except it's a less bolstered bench seat. It has an armrest that can be removed with the cup holders let's go ahead and get them out of the way now the back of the seats reclines slightly so this left seat here is fully reclined and then the other one is in this normal position you can also move these seats forward and backward and then you have a pocket here on the back of the passenger seat, but not on the driver's seat and then you have that lovely hard plastic back of the seat with the pocket there which is nice, lots of room for the legs even with the seat fully rearward.
I will put all the specifications and dimensions in the description. There is tons of information and descriptions. Check that in the little storage space it has there are two USB charging ports, which is two of them, and look at that almost completely flat floor back here, so if you travel, if you're in the back seat, you'll be well taken care of because You can charge your device, cell phone, pet tablet or whatever. You won't be as claustrophobic because you have this huge sunroof above you. you have little storage spaces here in the door behind the seats in the center you have the armrests cup holders all of that you can recline the seat you can move it back and forth all of that you even have the curtains so they are pretty pampered Back here so looking the rear of the vehicle you can see well, first of all, you see these roof rails of the same non-reflective silver color and you look out, the sunroof has a small shark fin antenna, a kind of shark fin colored wide body.
The antenna right here, the third brake light is right below it at the top of the glass, at the base it's a windshield wiper or actually a rear wiper and for some reason the rear view camera is slightly offset here, for which is not enough to make a great deal, but it is not offset in the center position, the parking sensors at the rear are well located and hidden right there, you see them in that black part, all the taillights LED except , as I mentioned, the turn signal that is on the button. at the bottom look at the exhaust tip it's like the real thing okay so this has a power tailgate.
Of course, you can use the key to lift it up or press the button down here, so I wish I had put the camera on. in the middle, set the button, I think it would have been better, but whatever, press this button down here, okay, so the screen is in place right now. This screen you can actually slide back or you can remove it completely, let's move on. and slide it forward, swim, check it out here, so if you have all the seats filled with passengers, this is your cargo space, which I think is great, especially considering that you can fold down the seats, one or the other, to increase your cargo space while still maintaining the passenger. space which is always nice for the subwoofer here on the far left and then you have hooks here on the sides for a mesh pocket which includes this particular one on the right side has a little storage cubby 12 volt power supply also the capacity to lower the seats we'll get to that in just a minute you know there are also tie downs there in the front position and in the rear let's lift this mat up and look down here so there are your tools for your spare tire under the second one.
The portion is big compartments, huge compartments here and I might mention that the blind is removable, you can take it completely out of the vehicle or there's a place for it right here so you can see the ends that go in right on top of the tools that you have as well. a storage space there so you can use this space for additional storage or you can put that shade there so you can have it with you in case you want to use it while you're traveling or whatever but you're just not using it right now, so you have plenty of hidden storage space under the floor.
It's pretty good. You can also remove that cover in case you need more vertical storage, but lowering these seats so you can lower this one. or that one to add to your cargo space, so let's go ahead and do that, we push the sideright to the side we go and push that and it gently folds down so from here if we have this long box we can put it here and still keep the passenger space let's say you have a car seat in place and you don't want to remove it. You can lower this seat or add the other seat to your cargo space and it's very convenient to do now these buttons will lower it, they won't. lift it up, you just lift it up on the side, it locks when you go down so you have to pull the latch, release it and lift it up, that's how you also recline it to close it on the bottom side.
Roll up the liftgate, you can simply press this button and it will roll down for you. The fuel door is here on the driver's side. The NSA locking fuel door, so currently locked, will not open. Unlock the doors when you unlock the doors or. locking the doors is how you do it, it automatically opens the doors and now it's unlocked so it's easy you don't have to think about it you have a traditional cap strap and a place to hang your cap right here while you're pumping blind spot gas detection system and rear cross traffic alert indicators here on the side mirrors and this will let you know when there is a vehicle in your blind spot and the sensor is right here so that as you drive it will detect a vehicle within one length of the car behind your vehicle, but if there is a vehicle coming fast, you will not have enough time;
It may not give you a warning in time, so you'll still want to check your blind spots, but the indicator only says as an extra precaution. It's located on the side mirrors, so let's go ahead and turn it on. I'm inside the vehicle with the key in my pocket, I put my foot on the brake, hold it down and press this button, so here is the floor in front of the driver's seat. You see the mat hooks in place in two places. Now this is a little more important, that the mat stays in place and you have the accelerator and the brake pedal with the accelerator pedal rotating at the bottom of the large footrest here on the left side.
Go ahead and take a look under the hood to open it. There's a latch that's in line with the rights of this emblem right there if you look over there and put your hand in that spot and move it to the left and lift it up so you can You can see it right here so the hood lifts up. on its own and stands alone for you, which is good as a dock installation on the underside of the hood. The strut towers are reinforced. Now this vehicle has a lot of high strength steel. and I'll have a lot of information in the description explaining the structural integrity of this vehicle, the specs and horsepower, all the nitty-gritty little details that you can dig into to learn as much or as little as you want.
Much space. Here you notice that the exhaust is at the back. The entrance is here at the front and there is a wide open space which is good for airflow and also for noise. Just a little bit of a buffer in terms of space around the engine. Here is the battery. isolated here GDI gasoline direct injection 2.4 liter 185 horsepower 178 pound-feet of torque paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission the inside of the driver's side doors just like the other side, except it has a few more buttons so you have your power window The controls here now you can, the front two are automatic, one touch up and one touch down, so I'm going to stop it right there because I want to point something out: this is an insulated glass, so it's a glass laminated and has a piece of glass. on the outside and inside with an acoustic material sandwiched in between, this helps with the structure, you know, makes it a solid piece of glass, but it also prevents vibrations from going through the glass and into the vehicle, so Help with sound. a little bit you have the ability to lock your kids basically they also lock the power windows they don't play with the window door lock controls here and then the side mirrors adjust you just pick a side and adjust it with that little pad.
So, since the passenger seat had all these cool, fancy features, the driver's seat has two scuffs, of course, so not only can you get up and down and tilt and all that with the driver's seat, but you can also you have power lumbar adjustment so the driver always gets a little extra pampering to the point where they probably break down I guess, and they are heated leather seats to the left of the steering column. Here is the dimmer switch for the interior gauges. The lane departure warning system. You can turn it on or off its blind spot detection system, rear cross traffic alert, you can turn it on or off as a small indicator light when traction control is on, you can turn it off, the default will always be on and you can open the tailgate electric from the right. here the tilt and telescoping steering column and it's the lever that's easy to find and easy to just move it down, unlock it and move it up to lock it, so it's pretty easy, okay, sitting in the driver's seat, checking it out .
Very nice, everything you have. The touch feels quality, just the whole presence is nice in this vehicle, it's definitely a big improvement, so I have the seat all the way back and all the way down. I'm 6 feet tall and this would probably be a little further back. what I do while driving, but it's normal. I could drive this way if I have the steering wheel forward a little. Knee room is good. The legroom is good and it's a little bit spread out here for my knees and then there's a lot of it. of space, but there's also a pad here, in case I hit my knee or something, looking at the steering wheel, it's a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a portion of almost textureless leather, with that metallic touch there at the bottom and then you had that simulated.
Leather texture in the middle part where actually the synthetic materials are, there is a grip here on the top and the thickness is also very good, the thickness is good, it is soft to the touch, really excellent feeling on the steering wheel, so that the cruise controls are here on the right. side is an adaptive cruise control so you can adjust the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you cancel you can turn it on you can resume and configure right there this button on this button corresponds with the screen between the indicators that we will show arrives in just a minute here on the left side is your radio volume change through your tracks or your radio station on that side your bluetooth controls here answer hang up on your phone once it's paired voice recognition and your mode what's your input audio once the wiper controls on the right side, the left turn signals with the headlight controls, so it turns the automatic parking light off and then on, and the fog lights are controlled here , on or off, but there's four steps back, so you can control it here or up there with both fingers, so it's pretty cool, so looking at the meters, man, it's a nice blue background and then you have the white letters coming out of the black, easy to focus, easy to see and easy?
In the eyes, the speedometer is in the center part with a digital speedometer, as well as everything that is the digital display in the center, on the left side and on the right side, they are physical indicators, so you have the RPM of the Tachometer on the left, on the right side is the fuel. gauge and the engine coolant temperature, but right there in the center, this whole part here is all one screen, so what gear you're in on the outside temperature odometer and your distance to empty all of that, is on the part of the screen you can get. more information, very in the center, right where the digital speedometer is, we will use these buttons here on these pages, button up and down on a okay, so press this to make a selection, press that to change screens and then you go up and down below, okay, now I'm going to press the pages button so you can see this is part of a menu system and you'll see the little icons on the right side now if I'm on this screen and I can go down or up. and change the view change the information that is in the center press the pages to go down to the next one and then I have those little bars on the right that let me know that there are more pages of information again, scroll down make selections here on the pages settings again We go back to the digital speedometer, so I have a little bit of extra information in the center when I need it, but I don't have to go in there and I can save it to the digital speedometer, which would be my default screen anyway and we have a little screen touch up here with physical buttons around the outside volume tune the stations which is a pretty traditional radio right now we're on the home screen which is the button that's there to access and split different icons and your mobile device and what it's doing your radio, so we press radio here or the screen shows up your presets on the left side what you're on, that's your station, your band, all that stuff, let's go ahead and press start, so let's press media now. there's nothing plugged into the media, so once you plug something in, let's say to USB aux or us or Bluetooth audio, that kind of thing, then we'll give you that option right now, we're just saying, hey, there's nothing plugged in, so there's nothing to show you. you can switch through your track here's the home button and then you go into your phone there's no paired phone showing you had a couple of devices you can go to all the menus here so you can see the different options it's Android capable Auto and Apple CarPlay just plug in your phone and leave it plugged into the USB port.
It also has a blue link and a full user guide here that is searchable. It's a really good auxiliary input. All those kinds of things that you notice like the clock and everything here at the top. As for the date on your calendar, it's easy to find four-way flashing lights, your emergency triangle, some vehicles just aren't that obvious, this one is really obvious, where it is, it's easy to get to and that's it, I think it's something good okay so down here is your climate control driver and passenger there is your temperature actually there are your temperature sensors right here for the driver and passenger right below so okay so it has a digital display , fan speed where you want the air to blow, front and rear defroster, zazz, well recirculate the air turn on the air conditioning, everything that has cabin filters and heated seat controls, you have a heated seat of three stages high, medium and low for the driver and passenger, so here is a 12 volt power supply, a USB charger only USB.
Input and auxiliary inputs and a large tray right here, this is a good place to put your phone while you have it connected to the USB for your Android Auto, an Apple CarPlay or just charging it in general or anywhere else to put some things. some cup holders and it's open in the middle it has a small rubber portion that is removable, you can take it out, clean it, put it back, it's pretty easy to get in and out, plus this portion has a rubber tray that is removable, pretty much all of this it does, so Okay, okay, here's the shifter and it feels nice and it's a good size, so let's go ahead and put it in reverse and check the rearview camera for active guidance as I move the steering wheel to turn.
In that direction, it's tremendously brilliant, isn't it? Let's go ahead and put it in neutral. Drive and then you can always put it here in this manual mode and downshift and upshift if necessary. You'll know what gear you're in because it will show up here and we. We're not done with the indicators yet. I'll show you a few more things in just a second once we get to it. Well, here you have an electronic parking brake. Lift it to activate it. Put your foot on the brake, push down and release. now you will know it's on because it will have a nice bright red light, they let you know it's on so that's ok and release it by holding the brake nut and pushing it down your parking sensors you can turn them off if you want and your stop and start function , this was something that will shut down the engine basically when certain parameters are met and you're sitting at a traffic light or stop sign for a period of time holding down the brake or just stopped in general. because it has auto brake hold, but it will turn off the engine to save gas, basically like with hold ideas, brake hold, auto hold will hold the brake for you while you are sittingstationary and it is in Drive to keep it from going forward by just rolling and then if this is on it will turn off the engine and as soon as you release your foot from the brake the engine will restart and you can continue once you press the accelerator. will release the auto hold and allow you to go now into your drive mode so this is where it's cool it's got three stages so if you press it now we're in the now okay so we're in To start with the comfort you see it's blue, put it in sport mode, look, it turns red, ha, and that's cool, so this will emphasize, you know, performance over fuel economy, push it again, it puts us in a smart mode .
I guess it's like an eco mode or whatever and then your comfort is your default so you notice when you put on a sport it says sport mode and you put it on smart it lets you know it's smart mode you see a little bit of green on the top and then you put it in the comfort zone. that goes away, so that's your default. I guess there's a storage pocket here, the rubber lining is fine, so here's your armrest and it's got the stitching on the ends that's soft to the touch and it lifts up, it's got a little locking latch here to hold your record or whatever. be it under here, also a little removable tray, it's actually a very big deep tray, it's nice, you can throw it out and put it back in and then you have this storage compartment, it's all black there.
I wish I had a light like a light. color, it would be easier to see in there and find things because you know you're going to mess it up, so let's see here how far it goes because yeah, they like a felt lining and just a big square box, basically a rear view mirror. it's an auto dimming rearview mirror that you can turn that feature on and off here, it has a digital compass and garage door opener controls with home link on the right side and then you have the destination, your blue link and assist buttons on the road here on the left side place to put the curtains and it has a very, very soft felt lining, like a super thick pool table type material, that kind of felt and it's black on the inside, it would probably be good if it was a lighter color, I don't know.
If you have interior lights here, you can turn one on individually so they're all like this or I have them all come on with the door when the door opens, it will turn them on when you have that setting. This is for your sunroof. and shadow once you get to that in just a minute, but check it out. I showed you this before, but I really can't get over the texture and the rolled look of the headliner that gray looks great, so the visor has this nice big mirror and the light right here, so you can turn it on separately so it doesn't It's tied to the door so it's a separate light that you can turn on independently it has a little clip here on the right side it also extends pretty much the same on the passenger side okay so the sunroof here's the control right there so it's back and forth basically that's how it works so let's take a Look at it because it's huge look it's way back so let's move the blind back and we've got that too.
I guess I push it all the way in to make sure it's as far back as possible, which is huge. The back is fixed, I haven't noticed yet. I must be pushing it too hard, let's see if I can get just a tone, yeah, I hit it a little bit, it just moves a little bit, yeah, so I was pushing it too hard. just push it a little bit, it just moves a shadow back and that way you don't have to have the glass now we already moved it back, let's go and push it up so we can VIN, push it up again.
Basically push it down and then we can move the blind from the back to the front because I don't want to have too much light in here. Now you notice that the blind block is 100% white, which is nice, like it's warm. On a day like today, I don't want the sun to shine on my face. I can get it to lock it completely which is great so let's look at the visibility in the back so I have a seat down and a seat up just to give you an idea of the possibilities as far as the headrest is concerned now you notice that the straight lines line up with the back pillar from this angle, anyway, there's a lot of glass, a lot of windows back there to help you see out and of course it depends on your passengers getting in your way, but the good visibility it has a backup park camera, the parking sensors, the blind spot monitoring system, the rear cross traffic alert, all that to help you too, and in my opinion, it has good visibility too, so anyway , what are you doing?
Do you think let me know what you think in the description about this vehicle and how it will compete in the market? I think it will do a fantastic job, it just has a really nice style, I mean the way the doors connect to the rest of the style. a little more of all the materials, all very interesting, so thanks for looking, thanks to Parkway Hyundai here in Wilmington, North Carolina, for allowing me to show off another incredible vehicle. I'll see you next time.
