These are the dollar tree shower caddies and I usually find them in the bathroom section of the dollar tree and what I'm going to do is take two of the shower caddies and put them together. head to head and then slide the hook

part

s under the wire frame then come the zip ties and I'm going to zip tie the hook of one cart to the bottom shelf of the other and then where the two carts meet and then if you're not Familiar with cable ties, all you need to do is take the cable tie, wrap it around the two parts you want to connect and then slide the end through the lock and tighten, then simply cut the tails and voila, put the two on.

The caddies put together in this way create a great pan rack that fits perfectly in a standard size cabinet. Now I just want to point out that this combination creates multiple slots of the same size and then a larger slot in the middle, the smaller slots are perfect for your standard. Large size baking and frying pans and the center slot fits perfectly into a standard size loaf pan. Another option for the larger space would be to use it for kitchen gloves and potholders or you can add one of these dollar tree baskets in the middle and use it to store multiple different items including kitchen utensils, now here you can see the rack in the cabinet and you can see how well it fits and how all the roasting and frying pans fit so well and also those ends where the hooks are, which is a perfect place to Then store some cutting boards.

I'm going to use one of the caddies to create a support for the pot lid and to do that I'll simply bend the first two rungs of the rack and then use a wire cutter. to remove the cross pieces on the second two rungs and I'll continue that all the way across the top and then I'll turn it around and continue cutting out those cross pieces there along the bottom now I'm keeping that frame place where I want the frame, just remove all the cross pieces and then once that's done I can go ahead and fold it like I did with the top two rungs and then all you need to do is take the caps and slide them in. the slots now, because my lids are this type of thicker glass top, I couldn't use the second slot, but I could easily fit my other lids in the third and fourth slots, but if you have thinner lids, it's possible that I can use them. the four slots and then here is the lid rack hanging on the inside of my cabinet door and I used a command hook to hang the rack but always make sure you buy the correct weight and follow all the instructions on the package now if It's like that.

I'm still looking for a home for those kitchen gloves and kitchen utensils. This next hack may be a good solution, so for this one I'm going to take one of the shower caddies and one of the utility hooks and zip tie them together and then use the top to hold the gloves and the hooks on the bottom to hold the kitchen utensils and then here you can see everything put together and I even have room for a pair of those silicone gloves that I put there on the shelf. here's a quick and easy way to organize herbs, spices and other condiments and get them off the counter for this one, I grabbed another cart and folded the first step down and then I grabbed one of these dollar tree organization containers and I zip tied to the back of the frame which makes a perfect holder for spice bottles and then the shelves below can also be used here.
I put in some seasonings as well as bouillon packets and bullion cubes, and the hooks below can be used for oven mitts etc now if you like. If I need more room for bottles, here's another spice rack from a shower

caddy

I made in a previous DIY and will link here and in the description now that you've made lots of wonderful food. Here's a quick and easy dish and utensil

caddy

. It is also ideal for outdoor dining. I simply took two of the caddies and zip tied them back to back on one side. I folded the top rung to better accommodate the plates, then took four of these dollar tree mesh pencil holders and zip-tied them together. the sides of the cart using these little zip ties that I also bought from Dollar Tree.
I also wanted to point out that when I place the glasses, I am placing them on the second rung of the cart, because I folded them down on one side. the first rung, so keep that in mind while placing them. I also wanted to point out that I left the little feet on this cart because I think it adds to the aesthetics and since the items are lightweight it's not going to cause too much of a balance issue and then here you can see the finished cart all ready for the cookout , in the bottom section I was able to put some napkins and then in the cups of course all the utensils and in the front I have the plates and if you go to the back I have room for some bowls and then here you can see it on the side of the bowl and you will notice that on the other side, the plate side has only two steps and the bowl side now has three.
For the next set of caddies I'm going to make, I'm going to do the same thing: I'm going to tie two of the shower caddies back to back, except for these ones, I'm actually going to go ahead and take the little feet off now, this is for more balance because the Items that I am going to use in these next caddies are heavier items and will fall from side to side if you don't remove them and then again. I'm just going to go ahead and tie the two carts back to back and that will create a sturdy freestanding cart for all kinds of different things, starting with a condiment cart for that cookout, although I'm adding heavy full size bottles. of mustard and ketchup on one side, the cart is balanced and doesn't fall over, but I'll add some barbecue sauce and mayonnaise on the other side and underneath there is room for one of these three-section acrylic containers with lids that I also bought. from Dollar Tree and are great for adding things like pickles and onions.
You can even add labels to the containers if you wish and you will be able to see what a nice presentation it makes on your table or counter and it also makes it easy to transport the items from one space to another, another option would be a dressing cart and with the addition of some ingredients underneath like olives, bacon and cheese, you can make your own little salad bar and then how about some dessert Sundays? You can just add some shake. cream and syrups and then things like nuts and cherries sprinkled on the bottom and for those who enjoy a good cup of coffee with dessert, how about a syrup cart and you can add different sweeteners down there, speaking of coffee, how about a good coffee, tea and cocoa cart for this one, I'm going to cut the handle right around where it bends with some wire cutters, then I'm going to take some of these headbands that I also bought from the dollar tree and place them around where there are both. the hooks are on the bottom, next I'm going to grab some of those white organizing bins and I need three of them and luckily they come three for a dollar, so I'm going to put one of the bins on the bottom shelf, one on the shelf from the top and then the third one will go on that top rung, then I'll tie them in place by tying the zip tie through the slots of the basket and then around the metal frame of the cart and I'm going to do that on the right and left sides and in the middle at both the top and bottom of each container, for the top one I'll just tie the zipper there along the bottom and then at the bottom where the bands are I can add some tea bags in the containers I can make some coffee capsules and then in the space between the first and second container I can also add some hot chocolate packets now that we have the coffee organized how about a place for some mugs?
I'm going to start by removing the cart handle again, but this time the frame will be mounted under a cabinet or shelf. Now pretend for a moment that this is the bottom of your cabinet or shelf if you were hanging light items like dish towels. You can get away with using some command type hooks that you can place as shown to hold the shelf; However, if you want to use a shelf like this for heavier items like mugs and glasses, you will definitely need to use one of these strap type brackets like the ones I'm using here from closetmaid, these brackets then screw into the wood at the bottom from the shelf or cabinet.
You can get these closetmaid stands at Lowe's or Home Depot and even on Amazon and I will provide a link in the description now. Here you can see the hook version installed on the bottom of my cabinet. This is the bottom view and then here is the front view. From here I can add some towels to the open shelves and then use some hooks to hold some utensils or other lightweight items Now this next option is really good but you definitely need to use brackets screwed into the wood. Hooks definitely won't work for these heavier items because not only do you have to worry about the weight, but you're also doing work. against gravity, let's have a little more fun with this shelf idea and head to the pantry for this one.
Again I'm going to remove those cross pieces on the bottom two shelves using my wire cutters, then I'm going to remove the handle, but this time I'm going to cut closer to that horizontal piece, then I'm going to take the hooks on the bottom of the cart and the I'm going to fold back in the opposite direction so now your shelf should look like this and basically like What you're going to be able to do now is you're going to be able to slide it to the bottom of your shelf and the hooks on the front are going to hold up the front of the shelf and then you can add a couple of hooks or brackets on the back of the shelf to support the back.
At the end from there you can add one of these Dollar Tree Organization Bins which fit perfectly on the shelf and create a perfect home for snacks, sponges, washcloths and the like and then here you can see the empty shelf with the hooks bent back secured to the edge of the shelf and then if you look underneath you can see the command hooks holding the back end, then the basket can be placed on the shelf and used as a drawer or remove the container completely and use it as a service, using it alternatively . I can just place the items directly on the rack like I did here with my parchment and wax paper which gives me extra space so I don't have to stack the boxes on top of each other and then here is a quick and easy option to hang the food wrapper. and bags, all you need to do is take one of the caddies and remove the third shelf, then voila, you can make multiple holders for instant food wrap boxes and hang them side by side on a hook over the door or tie two together vertically to create a super space saving option, another pantry organization staple is the root vegetable bin and I'm going to make one by folding the first rung of the shower caddy again and then adding one of these metal baskets oval, then I'm going to flatten one out a little by squeezing the sides together, then attach it to the cart with some zip ties, running the zip ties through the basket weave and around the back horizontal bar of the cart, then I'll also add two more zip ties. around the top of the basket and then around the handle, but notice I'm leaving a little slack to fit the smaller basket size.
Lastly, I'll add a flange to the bottom next. a second basket that I will also flatten a little to the bottom of the cart by bending the bottom hooks a little and pushing the hooks through the basket weave. I will then further secure the basket with three more zip ties attached. loosely to the bottom shelf lastly I'm just going to add these rectangular wire baskets that you can find in the kitchen section to the shelves and then here you can see my container filled with some onions and some garlic in that first rectangular basket and then i added some chicken broth on that second shelf and at the bottom the container is filled with some potatoes now if you need more room for your potatoes another option would be to use one of these nylon mesh bags that you can get locally of laundry and they come three in a pack and they are made of this really durable and not terrible nylon and you can useagain the bottom hooks at the bottom of the cart to hold the bag, just push it through the holes in the nylon mesh and then also use a few zip ties on the top of the bag and then you are done, just fill it with your content and then here is another versatile pantry storage option and I will do it the same way I did the previous one. one, except this time I'll use two of these large basket-woven plastic containers.
Now these containers are oversized and you can see how they can hold nine packages of ramen, several bags of rice or ready pasta, how about some bags of tuna and food? kits or some popcorn and mac and cheese boxes to hold the top basket, I threaded zip ties under the horizontal bar and pulled the basket weave in the middle of the basket and then also two zip ties to the top across the second row of the basket. woven and around the cart handle to create space for getting items in and out of the second bin. I had to remove the cross bars in front of the bottom shelf with some wire cutters, but I made sure to keep the rear horizontal bar below.
I pushed the bottom hooks through the basket weave, but I did it on the second row of the weave, leaving the first row to be able to pass through a zip tie and attach the basket to the frame. In that place I also added three more zip ties going through. weaving the basket and then attaching them to the bottom horizontal bar, lastly I just folded those hooks up to further secure the basket and then it's ready to fill with all your goodies and you still have that middle shelf available here. I'm just adding one of those rectangular wire baskets again, but you can also use the shelf as is, you can also make several of these and hang them side by side on one of those multi-hook units over the dollar tree over the door Well, I hope you enjoyed the second part of this series of tricks for organizing shower caddies.
