in those niches. If you can market yourself properly,

In my opinion, applique designs take a lot more time than they're worth, but that's up to you. They are very very popular and there are many etsy stores that make them but they are just an idea. Niche number two would be a wholesale SLC contract now this is like it could be large scale you can have a lot of contracts they hire you from a certain company to do all your work maybe it's your local grocery stores maybe it's a high-end business, maybe it's you. I know something like they hire you to do all their work.

This type of niche falls into another niche that I had, niche number three, which was for schools or sports organizations. You can be a contract embroiderer for your local school district or your local private school. for your local little league team or you know any sports organization, you can be a contract embroiderer or a wholesale embroiderer for those people, if you embroider things in bulk, people buy them from you to resell, so you must price accordingly for get benefits. and for them to make a profit so honestly, I don't know exactly how the logistics work because I'm not a wholesale embroiderer, but I know there are many very successful embroidery companies that do it, so do your research if that's the case. something you want to do is a great idea if you don't want to have to deal with a customer, you just want to make the product and be done with it, that's a great idea now.

Niche number four is what I do now, which would be custom embroidery. I market myself as embroidery and custom clothing because embroidery is not the only thing I do. I would absolutely love to incorporate screen printing into my home one day. I'm not there yet, so I only buy the transfers when I need them. I buy DTF transfers when I need to, but I do embroidery and custom clothing so you can market yourself to any type of client and make custom pieces for that, I mean, and you guys have seen all my videos. I have made names. for backpacks I've made horse saddle pads I've done vet business coffee shops Sheriff's Department set up uniforms posi uh lawn care business I mean any type of business that is my client.
I provide you with clothing for your business or brand, whatever it is so you can do custom embroidery. I love this market because it's very simple, it's very direct, you give me your logo, I give you a product, that's it, it's very different from when I had my children's clothing business because it had the same designs that I bought on etsy. Out of everyone else, I'm not the most creative person in the world, so you know, I didn't really come up with my own designs. I was buying things that were already made on Etsy, that 800 other Etsy shops were also selling, so I love this. because it's just logo inside logo outside done is perfect I love being able to offer a wide variety of products for my customers ranging from hats to beanies to polo shirts to heart shaped car jackets to coffee mugs, you name it.
I love custom embroidery. This is my favorite. Niche I love Niche number five I think we're into making your own brand. You can be your own personalized clothing brand. You can have a Christian clothing company. You could have a fitness company. You could have. Eh no. I know you can make your own clothes for your band or you know something like that, you can make your own merch and as long as you market yourself well and you know you have a great online presence, social media presence, you know and you generate your own traffic. , you can be very successful with your own clothing brand, the next niche, which is very, very popular, but again might be a little oversaturated, would be the wedding niche, now wedding items, bridal clothing, women's clothing honor, things like that sell like hotcakes on Etsy, people are getting married.
People spend a lot of

money

on personalized wedding things all the time and sometimes you just have to take advantage of that so you can make bridal hats, makeup bags for the bride, clutches for the bride, jean jackets for the bride. bride, bridal gowns, different things like that and the good stuff. Part of it is that a lot of times it's not just about buying something unique for the bride, a lot of times you can mix it up and you can buy The Bride item plus 3 four five six matching bridal Maids items because brides love their photos and they love it.
It's when everyone matches, so if you can offer a bundle on something you just upgrade your sale from one item to multiple items, if you can get into that niche and go with the flow, you can make a lot of money on this. There is also a category, I actually want to make a video on this, just to see how it would work, but there are embroidered veils and I think they are so beautiful, some just have the name, you know, ma'am, whatever, but some have flowers . and things like that and I don't know if they are hand embroidered or machine embroidered.
I want to buy a cheap veil maybe on Amazon or something and make a video about it just because I think they're really pretty and I want to see the process, um, so maybe keep an eye out for that, but yeah, the bridal niche of You can do weddings too. You know, grooms hats, groomsmen hats, grooms, uh, what else could you embroider for grooms sweaters? So there are many different ways. that you can get into that niche, the next niche would be Letterman varsity jackets, whatever you want to call them, there's a lot of money in this niche.
I met a couple when I was at Deco Summit, not last year but the year before. that this is all they do, they make custom Letterman jackets and their jackets range from $800 to $1200, it's absolutely crazy, a patch is $25 no matter how small it is, even if it's just a name and the Children often need several patches because they may have letters on them. in multiple sports or know a different organization they are in, so you will have multiple patches on these jackets. I mean, 2550 75, you could have $200 just in patches that don't include the jacket and marking that doesn't.
It doesn't include the giant embroidery on the back that some of them have, it's just the patches, once you add it all up, you can make a lot of money in this niche. I looked into it when I left Eco Summit and the blank jackets alone are pretty expensive, but I know that if a kid just wants a blank jacket, you still just mark that jacket up and make a profit. There is a lot of money in that niche. The next niche is really cool. I don't even know what number I am. But let's stick with the custom patches, they are very, very popular on Etsy.
I'll show you right here. People need custom patches all the time, whether it's for a jacket, backpack or hat, you may be the one. Providing just the patch is very simple, you can offer one patch or you can give them a discount for the more patches they order, you'll make more money the more they order obviously, so you'll want to give them an incentive to order more and this can be a very very good way to earn money. There are many etsy stores that do this. You can customize a lot. These people love to personalize their names on different things, so this is a great way to offer a product that you don't have.
You know, meet the client in person or something, it's very simple, they give you the design, you send them a patch, voila, the next niche would be custom home decor. People love to personalize their home. They love embroidered pillows. Maybe it's their monogram maybe it's you know a simple starter site, maybe you could even place it further down and make specific categories, you could make freshly wet items like Mr. and Mrs., whatever is set in 2024 , you could make custom tea towels, custom bath towels, custom wall art. I've seen a lot of embroidery as wall art, which is really cool.
In fact, I want to make a video on embroidery as wall art very soon. So there are a lot of different home decor things you could do for embroidery. The next one would be personalized. Pet accessories, this is a great niche that people love, they love their pets and custom dog collars, custom leashes, custom cat collars, custom dog bandanas, things like that people love, they love to spoil their pets, they love to put Max or Buster or whatever on the dog's collar, there are some really cool ones with a phone number too or, you know, a service animal, a blind guide dog, things like that, there's a lot of different ways you can take that niche, there's a lot of money to be made and I think it's really nice, some people have something really creative. dog names and it would be so fun to see all the different ones that come in the next niche.
It wouldn't really be an embroiderer, but a digitizer. Many people don't realize that digitalization is a business in itself. you could digitize for people like me who are custom embroiderers and need to digitize all the time for different company logos or you can be like these people, look, look at this place, it's called River Mill Embroidery, they have, I mean, hundreds and hundreds. and hundreds of thousands of sales because they have their own fonts, they have their own images, their own applique designs, they have so many different things to offer and they don't really have to do the embroidery themselves, so you're just on the back end By providing a product that you once designed, this is a great way to generate passive income.
Also, they just have the product listed once to sell it and then have people buy it non-stop. There is definitely a learning curve. I've played with my chroma Lux. and I'm nowhere near becoming a competent digitizer. There are many things I still have to learn. I can do very, very basic things. So I still ship all my stuff, but that's something I would love to learn just to be. You know, I can have one less outsourcing expense and be able to keep it in-house. I just haven't gotten to that point yet. There is definitely a learning curve.
There are several different softwares that you can get. I love the chromax because it came with my machine. there is practical training, there are several videos or I am not practical training, but online training. I guess I should say impractical huh, but I took a training class with Roma, they offer classes at Deco Summit, there are so many different ways to learn. digitizing embroidery and definitely something I want to get better at in the next niche would be contests, um, sashes, I guess you could say, uh, a lot of people need custom sashes for p like, you know, contests, I don't even know what they are .
They're called like Miss America pageants, you know, things like those graduation sashes. Many people need those personalized ones. I'll show you some here on Etsy. There are many things you can do with these many different colors that you can offer yourself. I can offer you these fun ones like the ones from Sarpe and there is one. I only did one of these and it was terrifying. I was so afraid of frowning that I actually ordered a cheap one on Amazon to practice before embroidering this girl's actual dress. one because he needed it for his graduation next weekend, and I was like, "Oh my gosh, I've never done one of these.
I want to make sure I have all my settings right. I want to make sure I'm using the right one." I threaded it before embroidering her thing because I'll be so mad if I mess it up, it ended up turning out great. She loved it. She was very grateful, but it's definitely not something she personally wants to do again. just because I felt a lot of pressure, but there are a lot of people who do this most of the time and turn out great. I just don't like so much pressure if you do it and succeed.
Under pressure, maybe this is your niche next. The niche would be the Sports SL dance, many teamssports and dance companies need custom embroidered bags or equipment or you know different things like that to be able to get into that market and do really interesting things, there's a huge profit margin on things like canvas bags. bags, especially if they want to add a silhouette of a dancer or you know a football player or a baseball, different things like that, you can add that kind of margin, you know, $15 for just the name or they can add a picture of a baseball or ballerina silhouette for an additional $20, so your $15 embroidery became $30, so there's definitely a lot of room to play in that niche.
People love personalized bags. I know when I grew up playing softball I had custom helmets. I had the personalized bag. I had everything personalized and, yes, parents will pay a lot of money to make their children happy, so I have to take advantage of that. Next would be motherhood. you know, having a photographer there that has things personalized with the baby's name so you can really niche down in that market and have personalized diapers that match their robe that say mama or mama. You've all seen the trendy mom sweaters, those are great. uh Mother's Day gifts or gifts for moms-to-be, different things like that that you can create like a whole basket for a mom-to-be that has like an embroidered burp cloth, an embroidered nursing gown and an embroidered, you know , Everything you can.
Nichelo to motherhood slm motherhood and uh yeah there's definitely a lot of money in that category and the last one I have for you today is Greek like fraternity SL sorority uh clubs things like that I don't know the exact lingo, I was never interested in sorority or something like that, but these are very popular people who love to represent their fraternities and sororities, so custom Greek letter items like these here are big sellers, especially if you can stand out and not get something that's pre-made and you already know. I've already done it, you can really stand out in this category and you know the same thing with SL bride bridesmaids stuff.
A lot of people want to buy things for themselves and the whole sorority or them and four or five friends, so instead. Many of you know that potentially by having a single order, people will order multiple items, so you're really looking for a multi-item type of niche here where I think you'll very rarely find someone who only buys one item because they want match and, you know. Things like that, those are the 15 different embroidery niches that I came up with this morning. I'm sure there are many more. There are many ways you can even break down some of these categories to specialize even more, so definitely do your research.
