we covered. Our trip, the first activity is watching the planes in Maho Beach. Maho Beach is a famous beach in Saint Martin for airplane spotting.

It is located right in front of the Princess Juliana International Airport, where large and small planes fly over the beach to land and take off. Outside the beach itself is not the most relaxing environment and can get quite busy but it offers great views and watching the planes take off is also entertaining, this may cost you transport fees to get here but the beach is public and completely free , so don't be fooled into purchasing a tour to this beach on your own so you can spend as much or as little time here as you want and save money by not purchasing a tour package if you see the planes take off.

I also suggest standing to the side and securing any loose items because those explosions are pretty loud. The second activity is to explore phillipsburg. Phillipsburg is the capital of Saint Martin on the Dutch side of this Caribbean island. It is also where cruise ships dock when they are in port so it is definitely a tourist spot if you arrive on a cruise ship you can easily walk into town on your own making it free that is if future cruises allow you to leave the ship for On your own, there are many sites to see in Phillipsburg, including the historic courthouse. statue of San Martín and numerous beach bars along the promenade.

It's also a great place to take photos and there are several signs and murals that would make great shots. This is a free activity or can be relatively cheap if you don't get caught up. A tourist trap shopping is the third thing to do in Saint Martin. There are many shops in Phillipsburg. If you like shopping, it's a popular tourist spot, so prices may be higher here, but it's a great place to pick up some souvenirs. many duty free shops and many jewelry stores. The best thing about shopping is that you can do it as cheap or as expensive as your budget allows.

Number four is go to the beach. San Martin has numerous beautiful beaches to visit on our trip that we took. to maho beach great bay beach mullet bay beach and koopa koi beach just be aware that some of the beaches are optional which we discovered by accident if you are looking for a quieter beach experience I would suggest mullet bay beach which has a bathrooms at the beach bar for paying customers and plenty of parking. Most beaches have chair rentals, but you can also bring your own towel or blanket and set up your own spot. Snorkeling is number five while at the beach.

You can also do some snorkeling. Beaches like Mullet Bay Beach pictured here are popular for this activity and if you have your own equipment you can bring it with you to do this activity for free, but if you want to splurge you can always book a catamaran snorkeling tour to see more . of the island and will usually provide you with the equipment. Number six is ​​sightseeing around the island. Normally I would suggest taking a local bus to do your own sightseeing, but this may not be a great option at our current travel times. I enjoyed taking the buses as a cheap way to get around for about two dollars and sixty cents Canadian or two US dollars per person each way, depending on the distance you travel, it could cost a little more or a little less, but we found our trips.

Costing only two US dollars or less, we were usually the only ones on the bus with maybe one other passenger, but if you don't feel comfortable taking the bus you can always rent a car or take a private taxi to get to your destination. Seven is enjoying a sunset on the beach If spending a day lounging on the beach isn't your thing, you can always arrive just to enjoy the sunset. We were lucky enough to see some beautiful sunsets at Maho Beach and Mullet Bay Beach and both. The activities were free, we walked to both beaches from our hotel to enjoy the views and an added bonus is that the beaches are less crowded at this time so you can get great photos and videos.

The eighth attraction is the famous carousel ice cream shop with a working carousel if you want a fun family activity or just love ice cream this is a cheap stop in the Simpson Bay area they have numerous flavors to choose from and I can confirm that the ice cream is really good. The ninth thing you should do is visit a seaside restaurant and enjoy some food and drinks. We stopped at Maxine's in Phillipsburg for a bucket of beers at a shady picnic area. Here's a tip if you're looking for a cheaper bucket of beer or less expensive food or drinks.

Visit a restaurant at The end of the boardwalk is not in the middle, but if you are also looking to rent some chairs and an umbrella on the beach, they often have deals that include some drinks in the price. Check before you commit.
