It's actually quite useful for its intended use of holding your sunglasses by sliding the sunglasses arms into the foam padded holder, but how about you also place one in the back seat pocket to store a bag of garbage or add two to the back seat pocket to store a

bag, how about putting one in your trunk to hold shopping bags up to the visor? How about a safe and convenient place to store parking tickets or mail on the way to the mailbox? Much better than just placing them on the console. To grab you on the way out the door, we'll have more fun uses for that little clip in the next video, but for now let's head into the kitchen for some kitchen organization tricks when you're in a rush for time and the troops are hungry. can be an arduous task, especially when kitchen tools are piled up in overfilled drawers and finding what you need is difficult when there is little space in the drawers. Tools like knives, spatulas, turning spoons can be better stored outside the drawers and we can do it without adding more. One way to de-clutter is to create an attractive stand and display for knives.

Try using an attractive container like this scalloped acrylic container from Dollar Tree. Fill the container with rice and add the knives. The rice holds the knives in place and creates a wonderful neutral-colored filling. The wide mouth of the container allows you to store a good number of knives and they can be easily identified by their handle. The flat side of the container allows for easy storage along the wall, maximizing your counter space. This next trick comes in levels. and it is a good choice for keeping your most used kitchen utensils close at hand and accessible for quick use.
If you have a refrigerator with an exposed side or other furniture with metal components, you may want to purchase some of these magnetic hooks. Dollar Tree is now carrying them, they stick directly to the side of your refrigerator and can provide a home for your favorite spoon or spatula, although this solves the problem conveniently and quickly. Worn and mismatched utensils can add to the visual clutter if this is a concern let's take this hat to the next level consider purchasing a new set of matching utensils Dollar Tree has a wide variety of kitchen utensils in different finishes coordinated with various sets coming from well-known brands like McCormick and Betty Crocker, a new set of color-coordinated cookware on your refrigerator along with some matching potholders and mitts will look so good they could double as kitchen decor;
However, if you're still worried about hanging utensils adding to all that visual clutter, let's take this to another level, consider purchasing a new set of the same color as the side of your refrigerator or other furniture you'd like to use. My refrigerator has a gray side so I grabbed these gray utensils and when I hang them on the refrigerator they blend together perfectly and you barely notice them even though there are a lot of them. Pretty amazing pot and pan organizers available on the market today. If you don't have the budget or space, simply place them for storage in a cabinet or drawer to protect surfaces;
You may have seen these felt pads in stores or online. and now Dollar Tree sells a pack of three for $125 Unfortunately they are so thin and light that you would only get minimal protection from them. A quick trick here would be to head to the hardware section and pick up these felt sticky pads when adding the pads. The pan protectors will create thicker, heavier pieces that provide excellent cushioning between the pans, better than and at a fraction of the cost of thicker options available elsewhere, you simply need to peel the pads and attach them to the protectors, but adding a little glue.
It would also be a good idea to ensure a long-lasting bond. They also look elegant. I don't know, but they may have the necessary elements to be a great home decor piece. How about? For now they will protect these pans. Now if you're like me when you cook, you try to follow some great new recipe that you found online and you try to follow it on your phone, but the phone is usually fighting for counter space with ingredients, cutting boards, kitchen utensils , etc. Plus it usually gets splashed on whatever I'm cooking so I found a solution to keep it off my counter and away from the mess and better yet at eye level I place it in a cabinet next to my stove in the place it normally occupies. for my salt and pepper and since 99% of the time I use it for not cooking, it's not a problem to keep it upright anyway.
I have a little surprise here inside the cabinet hanging on a hook, it's a little folding phone stand that I picked up at Dollar Tree, I kept it there until I need it and then I put it in place and it's ready to use for recipes and it holds The phone in both vertical and horizontal positions Now my phone is safely stored away from clutter and clutter. and easy for me to read when I'm done, I just need to fold it up and put it away Now that dinner is ready, it's time to grab some plates, but if space is tight in the cabet, your plates can be stacked under bowls with other items.
Unfortunately, these Dollar Tree shelves are too flimsy for this job, but a quick fix here would be to take a Dollar Tree sign (any rectangular will do) and glue it to the top of the shelf with a little E6000 glue, then you can paint the top or add a shelf liner and wait with the heavy items until the glue hardens to ensure a tight pump and now the bowls and plates are separated for easy access, but what about all of them? those other things like napkin straws and glasses that were piled on top long before I got to them and moved on to more organization tricks.
I wanted to ask if you're enjoying the video and if so, please take a second to put something on the Although YouTube is free for viewers, the way creators get paid from YouTube is actually related to likes, comments , shared subscriptions and notifications that viewers give to their videos, so if you are enjoying this video and would like to support it and this channel, please take a second, put something in the hat by doing one or more of these actions , thanks and now back to those tricks, so for the extra storage of those lighter white items, like the napkins and straws, etc., I'm going to take a

dollar

.
I

tree

d the magazine file and cut it to the appropriate size for both my cabinet and the depth of the items I want to store. I'll put the file together and then place it on the bottom of my shelf using some double-sided mounting tape that I've had for a long time. I've been a fan of the Gorilla brand version of this tape, but I recently tried this brand on Amazon as it was on sale for only $7.99 for a huge 9.8 foot roll. A little goes a long way, so I'll cut small pieces and place them each. on the side and then in the middle, then just peel off the back and stick it to the shelf.
Now I don't have room in the section with the plates and bowls, but in the cabinet next to me I have a lot of unused vertical space to install my holder, position, slide the holder into the cabinet with the sticky side up and press on the bottom of the shelf above, smoothing out the contact points to ensure the tape adheres to the shelf and now I have a home for my napkins and straws. and that mounting tape is awesome, it will stay in place until you pull it down with considerable force, but it won't damage the shelf.
I can't say the same, although for the cardboard magazine rack this is the first one I made to try this trick and when I went to remove it, I really had to pull and pull, although it tore the cardboard from the holder. You can see how the tape clearly pulled off the side of the shelf, but I used too much tape, which is how I discovered that a little goes a long way. For now I can't put anything too heavy in there, but if it's fairly light it will work, for example paper plates and cups, coasters and tea towels.
It also works for foods and drinks like ramen snacks, tea packets, and hot chocolate. If you think about it, you really don't even need the magazine rack. Many products come in boxes that you can easily convert into stands by simply removing the flaps and adding mounting tape to the back of the box and voila, an instant organizer in even the tightest of spaces. The amount of space they clean after meals is much more annoying when cleaning materials are disorganized, empty, or missing. If you watch my 2020 organization hack video, you may remember the Lazy Susan synth I made for the hallway bathroom vanity by gluing a pizza. mold to a cake pan and then place the combo in a second cake pan filled with marbles which I have since moved and am now using that Lazy Susan under my kitchen sink;
However, this is a much taller cabinet with a lot of unused vertical space above, so I decided to transform the original Lazy Susan into a two-story Lazy Susan and yes, this is the original and it has held up quite well for the last 3 years. It has a few scratches, but is otherwise in very good condition to create a second level. I grabbed one of these paint and brush organizers from Dollar Tree, assembled it and then glued it to the center of the pizza pan, then took another cake pan and glued it to the top of that brush organizer.
Once the glue was ready, I attached the combo. Back into the marble tray and then it was ready to fill the lower middle section. I decided to keep some sponges and then on the top tier I placed my larger cleaning products like these Sam's Club siiz Stainless Steel Glass Cleaners and Wipes and then with a full size can of Pledge on the bottom tier I placed all of my other cleaners and I was a little surprised to see that most of them now come in these streamlined containers which work great for setup as I can lay them on their side with the front facing out and they fit perfectly into the pizza pan held by the rim of the pan on the bottom and the cake pan on the top as you can see I can fit a ton of products and I can easily see and access the product I'm looking for if that trick or any so far has made a good impression , comment below if you don't feel like typing, just put some emojis that work just as well.
Another problem I have around the sink is having good storage for my wet sponge scrubbers. and brushes, the sink cabinet had these removable front panels, but the sponge compartments that may have been there at one time were gone, so I made my own taking storage baskets from Dollar Tree and drilled some holes in the bottom and then I added two. small screws to the panel leaving the screw out a little so you can slide the screw caps into the brackets on the side of the storage container and you don't need to have these removable panels to use this trick, it works the same Well, inside the door too from a normal cabinet, butI really don't like putting wet sponges in these tight spaces, so I usually just put things like sink plugs and brushes in there, which still leaves my wet sponges without a stain.
I tried the Dollar Tree sponge. holders but those suction cups just don't work they just slide down the sink these suction cups don't suck unless of course you're using that word to describe them and fix that. I picked up one of these sunglasses lanyards from Dollar Tree that I remove. I take the suction cups off the holder and thread the sunglasses cord through the holes and then back up. I then slide the cord around the faucet keeping all the ends together and then zip tie the ends to the cord at the top of the holder now my sponge holder stays in place providing a raised open space for my wet sponge to dry and yes, I went back and cut the tail off that zip tie, but I still have problems with my steel wool pads if I leave them in the soap dish.
EAS is easily rusted, damaged and dirty to solve this problem. I added a hanger to the pad by separating about the top third of the scrub and then sliding a hair elastic and looping one end over the other and pulling tight. Now I can stretch it. this elastic handle around the front of the sponge holder and now my mop can air dry too. I still had a few more brushes but they found a spot under the sink again using those sunglasses clips on the side of a shelf and then I was able to just slide and store my brushes in there now you know your uncle's brother's cousin's niece Sister wants to see that one, so why not share it?
Storing leftovers can be a big hassle, especially when looking for coordinating food storage containers to create a quick way to organize lids. grab one of these Dollar Tree plastic baskets that have holes in the sides, you'll also need a pack of wooden dowels as well as a pack of sign tack. I'm going to use Dows to create dividers in the basket because the holes run the length and width of the basket. I can adjust the pegs to hold the different sizes of lids so the pegs don't stick out too much. I cut them to the appropriate width of the basket and then used some poster tack to create ends so it wouldn't slide through the holes and then once I inserted my pegs into the correct width and height for the lids I needed organize, I went ahead and placed my lids in the organizer.
I was able to create sections by type as well as size and then I simply placed the basket back in the drawer and now I'm ready for leftovers to come my way if food storage is problematic. I think water bottles are even worse, why are there so many in the first place? I swear they multiply like rabbits and The sheer number of shapes and sizes makes it difficult to organize and keep them tidy. I've seen some pretty good organizers online but the prices were really high so I wanted to see if I could make one with Dollar Tree products so I bought a couple of these shelves from Dollar Tree and they're $125 for part of the store and then also a couple of these wooden pieces from the craft section.
I then took one of the shelves and using some wood glue attached the two pieces of craft wood. on both sides and then let the glue set for a few hours and then once the glue has set it was time to assemble the rest of the organizer and for the dividers I'm going to use these wood slices so I just I'll be placing the ones on the shelves, but the nice thing about doing a DIY version of this is that you can customize them to the size of your particular containers, so after deciding where I wanted to place my spacers, I followed up by using some wood glue and I joined them.
Next to my bottom shelf I reattached the top shelf using wood glue and then added the spacers on the top shelf by placing two pieces along each end and leaving that space a little larger since we have a water bottle which is bigger in size and much better now that we have our most used water bottles organized and easy to see in Access. There's also plenty of room to add a third tier or, if you prefer, you can also use one of those under-shelf magazine holders. tricks I don't know, I think one was pretty good, maybe even a subscription.
Hey, here's another organizer that uses Woodcraft parts from Dollar Tree. These usually come with whimsical artwork like llamas, unicorns, and rainbows, for now I'll just use the bottom. part of the box, however, I will use the lid later in this video. What I found was that regular Siiz spice jars fit perfectly in a box and that goes for pretty much all brands that offer sizes 2 to 3. bottles that measure about 4 inches tall, another great option would be the sprinkles bottles. , as many brands also offer them in 4 inch bottles and here you can see a

whole

drawer of spice bottles and since they are all from the same brand, the uniform look makes it.
Add to the appeal, however, all regular sized spice bottles fit in this setup, as for the lids on these containers, I will use them to create another organizer for these. I'm going to take a couple of popsicle sticks that I cut to size and then glued in a cross shape on top, this creates a perfect little container for storing coffee pots. I made a few of them, then glued them together and placed them in a drawer along with other wooden boxes and drawers from Dollar Tree to create a wooden coffee tea. The cocoa and sweetener caddy is great here in the kitchen and is also a great option in our next section, which is bathroom organization, but before we get into the wooden boxes and other useful items for organizing bathrooms, let's take another look Take a look at that humble sunglasses clip we saw earlier. the video, so this little guy is super useful and can pretty much be used as an S hook, but since it clips on it has the added benefit of working where S hooks wouldn't, plus they are so much cuter, I even found some on these schnazzy. designs, so let's take a look at some of the uses we found for this episode, okay, done, come on, maybe you're a fan of the kjac facial sponge but have a hard time finding a place for it to dry using one of these clips attached.
A shelf may be the answer to keeping it nice and elevated to air dry, on the other hand, maybe you're not a fan of mixing up your toothbrush, then this little clip may be the perfect solution to give your toothbrush a teeth some time alone or maybe it's your comb that you want to keep away from all that Riff Raff brush there we go up and get out of the way and it's easy to find or maybe it's your favorite nail file that you like to have on hand or even a file for feet, but wait, what's going on?
Yes, how about a clip on the back of the toilet tank to keep the toilet brush close but out of sight? And just like the car toys in episode one, these also work great for holding a Dollar Tree mesh bag full of bath toys, and as for bath toys, you can try it, razors, brushes and gloves, yes they all work great with these little clips but my favorite has to be holding the glasses while you shower to keep them safe and dry. We'll have more sunglasses clip ideas later in the video, but now let's move on to other bathroom

hacks

.
Showers and bathrooms can be an organization nightmare with tons of his-and-their stuff and few options for where to put it. There are a lot of great shower and bath organization products on the market and one that seems to always get great reviews are these mesh caddies, let's see if we can do something similar with the Dollar Tree items, so Dollar Tree has these little ones mesh laundry bags that come three to a pack for $125, make sure you get the three pack of small bags and not the pack of one large bag to make a small shower caddy out of them.
First I'm going to turn the bag inside out and then fold it in half. I then used hot glue on a protected surface and glued the sides pressing down to ensure a firm bond. I'm using the end of this glue tube, but a silicone brush or spatula would also work here once the glue has cooled but is still flexible. I'll press the seams with my fingers to ensure a tight seal and then repeat. After the process on the other side, I ran a squirt of hot glue down the center again pressing down on the protected surface to ensure an airtight seal.
I checked the seams to make sure I didn't miss any stitches and if I did, I just added a little bit of hot glue to seal it and don't worry because hot glue doesn't hold because Hot Glo and these synthetic fabrics seem to create some kind of bond indestructible and now I have a small mesh stroller with large pockets on the top. and smaller pockets on the front and if you are thinking why didn't you leave it right side out and keep the zipper tight, unfortunately that would have resulted in this small portion being at the bottom which would result in a front pouch almost unusable from here.
I'm going to add some of these metal curtain rings from Dollar Tree and how pretty they are. They're metal with ACC bead details on the top and everything, but they could be one of those unicorns from Dollar Tree, so don't worry if you can't. Find them, you can also use regular shower clips from Dollar Tree here. Instead, I will simply thread the clip through the holes in the fabric about 3/4 inch down and again, don't worry if this fabric tears. I will make three clips lengthwise and then the caddy is ready to hang from your shower curtain rod, then once placed on your shower curtain you can fill it with full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner or body wash. bathroom, as well as other items like brushes and razors, plus, since you get three in one pack, you can make several, at this price, mesh shower caddies for everyone.
Now, if you have little ones, you probably have a ton of bath toys, maybe even an entire army of rubber ducks, so you might want to keep at least one of these. unaltered bags for Corral all those little Treasures you can hang them with the same hangers on the shower curtain rod or if you need them to be closer to the smallest ones for Access and in addition to cleaning you can place some hooks at an achievable height to hang them. bag on and as you can see I use the regular shower rings from Dollar Tree here and that bag contains a lot of toys to hang right in the tub or shower.
The Command brand now sells removable hooks for the bathtub and other wet areas you can choose from. At Amazon or other retailers, another his-and-them bathroom organization challenge comes outside of the shower, with things like deodorants, toothbrushes, lotions, makeup and shaving, hair and skin care products all competing. Because of the space in cabinets, drawers and on the counter, even towels can create storage space. headache when space is tight, so let's start there. I was recently at Dollar Tree and I found a great solution no, no, no, here, a little more, no, right, right, there, no, back, back, right there, that, this set of three brass.
Wreath Rings Yes, when combined with a set of these decorative self-adhesive hooks, these rings make excellent towel holders. Now I bought these removable B wood hooks at Dollar Tree in the hardware section and I know there are different reports on exactly how removable the Dollar is. Tree hooks really are, so keep that in mind, especially if you're renting, and all I'm going to do here is take the two smaller rings and put them on the hooks, but first I have a couple of problems. I need a way. to keep the ring on the hook and second, since I'm using these removable hooks, I have to deal with this unsightly tag, but if you're using regular hooks this won't be a problem for these, although I'm going to reduce them. the tag to be a little thinner, so I'm going to take a couple of these wooden cubes that I picked up in the craft section and first I'm going to place one on the clip over the crown ring and then I'm going to glue the second one on. one on top of the tag, once the glue is dry I will attach the hook to the wall according to the package instructions which usually includes a several hours weighing time before using it and then there are the easy towel racks and economical, and I think they are also quite attractive, if you are lucky enough to have one, a first aid kit can be of great help;
However, they are often small and shallow and have fixed shelves leaving a lot of wasted space to fix this. I picked up some of these wooden boxes from Dollar Tree fromthe craft section to create a sort of wall organizer that creates sections that not only fill unused vertical space but also create small sections to separate and organize products to keep boxes in place. I like to use this double sided mounting tape which is the same one I used in episode one of this series for this rectangular box. I placed the ribbon on the bottom and then secured it to the shelf.
Then I took the small box with a lid and for the lid I applied. some tape on the back and then slid it to the side of the box securing the back of the lid to the back of the cabinet, as for the box I placed it on the bottom shelf securing it in place again with a double-sided tape on the wooden drawer. I put some mounting tape on the front of the insert, then glue it to the bottom of the top shelf. I place the outer box on top of its side and again secure it in place with the tape.
Now it's time to place. Let's start with this box lid, which is the perfect place to store contact lenses, especially since they are monthly and don't need daily access, leaving me plenty of room in the front for everyday items like shaving cream and facial cleanser, which You can also get a little pedestal with this occasional use face mask. Next up are the her and his deodorants, which now have their own section right next to the box, and as for the box, which creates a perfect little section for Cal, all the little skincare products . drippers, tubs and tubes in one place while making great use of that space between the fixed shelves and then one last thing for this shelf, the breast massage has its own private condo and looks like the neighbors of above they will be a digestive relief. products with a couple of contact lens cases living in the Loft, then that drafty basement apartment will be home to some aspirin and Vaseline with a razor hooked to the side back to the top shelf now that there's a space big and long for toothpaste then two hooks at the top of the cabinet create a great home for a toothbrush but we still have a lot of wasted space here so a small interior shelf would be a perfect solution as it is hard to find super slim shelves.
I decided to make one using these wooden planks from the craft section and four jangus style game pieces found in the toy section. I will use the Jenga pieces as legs and attach them to the board with wood glue. Once the glue was dry, it was ready and I just attached it. the shelf with a toothpaste on top, leaving room now for a facial brush underneath and we still have a little more space plus a few items that still need a home, but for these I'm going to switch to another out of the ordinary item from the Dollar Tree organization.
These small acrylic cups and bowls from the party section are great in many applications, for example these square bowls make great holders for floss picks, tweezers, nail brushes and nail clippers, and even a small mini first aid kit with bandaid wipes and Neosporin, and now. My floss picks can slide right next to the toothpaste rack and the scissors and mini first aid kit have a perfect spot on the bottom shelf. Now everything can be seen and reached easily without having to throw things to get what you need. No first aid kit. no problem, you can use the mounting tape to attach containers directly to mirrors like this small wooden box that holds deodorant or these acrylic tumblers that hold toothbrushes and square bowls that hold toothpaste and blemish sticks, in addition to the Mirrors.
I found that this combination of mounting tape and container also works great on other surfaces like wood, glass, metal, plastic, tile, plexiglass, and laminates, like on Ikea furniture. It doesn't work well on walls when you go. Removing it will remove paint and a layer or two of your drywall, so unless you have a strong desire to work on your drywall repair skills, I wouldn't recommend using this tape. on drywall walls, otherwise they will work well, stay in place, and easily support the weight of lighter items like those shown here. To remove them you really have to pull and apply pressure so the container comes off and then the tape just peels off. of the surface without damage.
I really like this trick for smaller, lighter items, but what about larger, heavier items? I think we may need another solution here and these slim two tier vanity shelves might be a good option, they take up little space so they can fit on a vanity but then have a whole second tier that takes advantage of the vertical space of above doubling the storage in a small area. They are really nice and the prices are pretty reasonable, but let's see if we can make one from Dollar Tree. materials, so in the frames and wall art section I found these adorable wall hangings with bead hangers, as well as these cute faux wood frames that come with various sayings, but I'll use the back so it doesn't matter if they match or To avoid creating a dresser shelf out of these, I'm going to use the smaller squares for the frame and the longer rectangular ones for the shelves to give the top of the shelf a little protection.
I'm going to paint it with a couple of coats. of mod podge, but you can also use varnish or paint or another protective coating like vinyl since they are drying. I will remove the small square plate insert and also the bead hanger. I chose this particular one because the frame is nice and thick. which will give stability to the shelves and also the beads are a nice bonus that you can use to decorate this piece or save it for another DIY. I'll also remove the little metal brackets that held the saying in place to make sure everything lines up evenly. m measuring 1 and 1/2 inch from each side of the rectangle and making a small mark with a pencil there to assemble, I placed the two square frames on their sides with the back of the frame facing in and then applied a little E6000 glue on the inside. bottom of the two square frames and then place the first shelf on top with the printed side down.
I also lined up the pencil marks I made on the shelves with the edge of the square frames and then measured again to make sure I got the right level. Next, I added a little more of the E6000 to the top of the square frame and then placed my second shelf again, lining up the pencil marks with the edge of the frame and making sure the two shelves were aligned as well. I then placed some VOD from Pongo Candles on the shelves to weigh them down a bit and ensure a firm bond and then let the shelf sit overnight for the glue to settle back onto my dresser.
You can see that I have very little space to work with these men's grooming products. the entire left side of the vanity and since they are simply placed on the counter they tend to make the bathroom look cluttered and unkempt, but now here they are on our new Swank Two Tier Vanity Top Shelf, they look clean and organized almost like bathroom decor. bathroom you want to have outside to decorate your bathroom. Smaller items are hidden on the bottom shelf, while the second shelf not only provides open space for taller items, but also does so, taking up half the counter space. before, but don't be jealous ladies, these shelves work just as well for your skincare routine or your collection of hair care and styling products now if you're saying God bless you and that slim little shelf With enough space for a hairspray and a tweezers, but what about all this?
Okay, relax, put down the slasher music, fear not, we've got you covered with multiple organizers, displays and caddies for more hair products, tools, accessories and more options for skincare, makeup and nails, so let's see What can we do about it. starting here with these skincare regimen items now, if you are thinking about a skincare regimen, this is my skincare regimen and this is the only display organizer I need. If so, then you are among the Blessed; however, if you are one of the Skincare Warriors involved. If you have a constant battle to defend against signs of aging, dry or sensitive skin, oily or acne-prone skin, or all of the above, then you probably have a variety of weapons in your arsenal, such as cleansers, toners, exfoliants, serums, eye creams, spot treatments, face masks, moisturizers and sunscreens for not to mention tools and you probably need a good way to keep them ready and ready for deployment, so we came up with two designs, one is a Lazy screen Two-tier Susan and the second is a specialized skin care storage cart.
Let's start with the two tier Lazy Susan to make this organizer, I bought two sets of Dollar Tree burner covers from the kitchen section, now they come two per pack with a small and a large burner cover, then a pack of beads 80 pieces from the floral section and a pencil and brush organizer from the craft section to make the base of the Lazy Susan. I'll take the two small burner covers, turn them upside down, and then pour the bag of beads into one of them. Eventually the second small burner cover will be fitted. above, but first I want to put the brush organizer on it.
I'll be putting it together temporarily so I can make sure the IV bottles I want to put on the bottom level clear it. I'll also have to make sure I leave. enough room for the bottles before gluing the brush holder in place, so I use the dropper bottles to create a template by placing them on the burner cover along with the brush organizer to determine where I need to glue the brush organizer but still have room to Then I applied some E6000 glue to the slotted end of the brush organizer and since a little bit goes a long way, I'm just going to apply the glue along the grid and also a few dabs on the flat surfaces and then stick it to the cover of the brush. burner in the space I marked with the pencil.
I then turn my attention to the top level where I will use the large burner covers. I'm going to take one of the covers and glue the other end of the brush organizer to the middle with some E6000. I'll make sure it's centered by measuring all the way around and adjusting if necessary, which I can do with the E6000 as it doesn't harden immediately and will still be flexible at this stage, so I'll set it up. Set that combo aside to let it sit and cure, next I'm going to take the second lid from the large burner and to that I'm going to add this Dollar Tree acrylic container with lid that I found in the bathroom section and these acrylic dessert cups and square bowls that I found.
In the party section for this setup, I start with the liit container and then added three of the dessert cups to the back. Next, I'll take two of the square bowls and place them in front of the container in a sort of diamond formation. I'll leave the rest of the space open so I can fit large bottles and containers in these sections and once you have the configuration you want you can go ahead and glue in with some E6000 glue a few months ago. Shell's P is amazing. viewer and follower of this channel commented Rosemary I have some game coffee to drink of course and it activates when you say E6000, well shells and everyone else who wants to join, I hope you have a full pot and it's not too much late.
The day because there will be a lot of E6000 in this video, but jokes aside. Please note that E6000, like many strong adhesives, as well as other products used in crafts such as spray paint and solvents, have harmful fumes and should always be used. used in well-ventilated areas in well-ventilated areas also helps a little, so although I will be using E6000 frequently in this video, I will also use it sparingly and limit my exposure to the open, wet product. Now we go back to our organizer once the glue On the pieces that were in place, I put the brush organizer together and then added some E6000 to the top of the large burner cover, then placed the second large burner cover with the acrylic pieces on top, making sure to line up the front of the top tier.
With what I want the front of the bottom tier to be once it's set up it's time to fill my organizer starting with the area below. I'm going to save some facial wipes and masks, then come the serums and I'll line them up. in the front on the top level I will use the tall dessert glasses to hold facial tools along the back andthen I will fill the container with cotton balls. The cotton rounds will go into one of the square bowls and I will use the other for More facial tools in the open spaces I will add products like moisturizer, toner, cleanser, spot treatments, sunscreen and various eye, neck and face creams.
This rotating organizer can be placed on a shelf, dresser or countertop to provide ample storage for your skincare regimen, but especially note that the round design makes it ideal for placing in a corner to save maximum space and Finally, since the hooks are metal, you can add these Dollar Tree magnetic hooks that attach to the side to hold things like hair ties and sponges to create the cadd look. organizer I use one of the caddies from the Dollar Tree section of the organization section a cutting board from the kitchen section A package of silver napkin rings from the party section and two square acrylic bowls and two tall acrylic dessert cups as well from the party section and the first What I'm going to do is apply a thin but well distributed amount of E6000, but when I joined two together, I'm going to slide the cart back to cover the cutting board opening.
Align the side of the cart with the long edge of the cutting board, this will leave a small ledge on the side and front of the cart to weigh it down and ensure a firm joint. I'm going to add some candle VOD to the inside of the cart. Next I'm going to take five napkin rings, line them up and glue them to the cutting board on that front edge using a bit of E6000 as for the square acrylic bowl I'm going to glue them to each side of the handle and I just need to add glue to the parts from the bottom of the bowl where they will touch the cart.
Next, I'll take the two acrylic dessert glasses and glue them to the divider. At this point, I'll set the entire piece aside at least overnight to let the glue dry. Now at this stage several questions may come to mind like why E6000. Well, I'm using E6000 because I'm joining plastics and metals. In my experience, these E6000 materials are the most effective, easiest, cheapest per ounce, and widely available. This video is sponsored. No, but it should be. Couldn't I use hot glue or super glue? Well, yes, but only if you're looking to do it. some kind of modern art museum piece, but if you really want to use it as an organizer then no, no, no, that would be bad, on the other hand, E6000 when allowed to set and cure well, yeah, that's not going anywhere Are there other effective products?
You could use, yes, there are various epoxies and cements that would work as well, but they often require a more complicated two-step process, are not as widely available, and are often more expensive. Which means the glue cures is kind of like what happens after glue. it dries out, but we'll talk about that later in the video, but for now let's go back to our skin care organizer once the glue is ready. I have one last thing I want to do and that is attach one of these elastic headbands to the side. I will attach one end with a zip tie to the front wrap around the side and then attach the other end with a second zip tie to the back.
Now it is ready to fill. I'll start with some smaller masks in the section below and then fill the napkin. rings with serum bottles, then come products such as cleansers, spot treatments, eye, face and neck creams and the elastic band. The SL LGE combo can be used to hold larger masks. The small back section of the cart is perfect for tubes like sunscreen and in the larger section, bottles of moisturizer and toner are a good option. The face tools again are a good match for the tall dessert cups and the square bowls work great again for cotton rounds and more tools.
This hacked cart fits a good amount of products and now that there are more spaces. and optional items have specific homes, so when you save your cart, you can sort it and save it instead of refilling it and putting it away, making it much more attractive and much easier to use. Next, let's try to do the same with hair product tools and accessories. Care items that need organization typically include tools like hair dryers and straighteners, products like hair gels and oils, and accessories like barrettes, hair ties, and headbands, so let's start with hair products and make again a small two tier cart using the sectional cart from the organization section and then the small section cart from the SL school teaching section and this one is super easy.
All I'm going to do is join the two carts together using zip ties, placing two zip ties under the handle of the larger cart and then taping the ends of the cable ties together with some tape, then I'll attach the smaller cart on top, pulling the zip ties through the hole in the center, then I'll remove the ribbon from one of the zip ties and wrap it around the top of the little one. cart handle securing it in place and joining the two carts together. I'll repeat for the second bridle and cut off the tails and that's it.
My two-tier hair care cart is ready for Duty and no E6000 needs to wait, what did you just do? let's say E6000 oh I got you, you didn't expect that at the bottom of the cart you can store the larger hair product cans and containers, the tubes fit nicely in the front and the smaller can containers and packs fit well in the top level, then the brushes and combs can slide along the back creating a one stop shop for products and brushes as well as hair tools such as blow dryers and straighteners, let's make a heat resistant cart to store them from a Dollar Tree.a round cutting board from the kitchen section, three regular-sized metal pencil holders and one jumbo-sized metal pencil holder from the office supplies section, and a lint roller from the clothing care section.
I will again apply a thin but spread amount of E6000 to glue the cups to the cutting board making sure to line up the cups with the EDG of the board. Then I'll take the handle off the lint roller and use some E6000 all the way and place it between the cups in the center of the board, so I made sure everything was lined up and centered. I set it aside and let it sit at least overnight, once the glue has cured the cart is ready to use, the various tools go in the mesh cups and the cables are hidden away.
On the larger cup, the handle can be used to store and remove the cart. As far as hair accessories go, we have a couple different options. First, we are going to make an organizer using a tall container with a lid found in the food storage area. and we're going to pair it with a dog bowl that's in the pet area. I'm going to use this particular type of dog bowl that has the part where the food goes and then when you turn it over, you have this type of plane. portion surrounded by an indented section, the container will become the lid of the organizer and you can place it upside down or upside down depending on the types of hair accessories you have, which you'll see in a minute, but first I'm going to need to apply a small but ample amount of E6000 at the bottom of the container so I can attach it to the inside of the lid and when I do that, I will push the container all the way to the front leaving space at the back like For the lid first, let's turn it upside down with this Positive Vibes orange bowl.
Now it will be better if you can find a solid color bowl, but these were the only ones my Dollar Tree had, but maybe you like the print and if so, you are kind. Well, I'm going to go ahead and cover the print and in this case with some white paint that works on plastic. Also, I will first clean and lightly sand the surface, since the paint also needs to cure, let's take a second. and talk about this not so sexy side of crafting if you're not familiar with curing is the processed materials like glue, paint, caulk and cement that undergo after drying, it's a chemical change that allows the bond reach its maximum resistance now that The good news is that this chemical process does not require any additional intervention on our part for it to happen, except not touching it, leaving it alone, letting it do its thing, and that is the not so sexy side of the processing required by many of the materials we work with. time and so that we can read the fine print on the glues, adhesives and paints we are using to determine the conditions of preparation, application, drying times and yes, curing times so that we can enjoy our DIYs for years to come and now come back to our hair accessories organizer once.
The dog bowl is painted and ready. I'm going to take one of these little acrylic bowls that I bought from the party section and I'm going to glue it with a little E6000 to the center of the dog ball and set it aside for the glue to prepare the bottom up version . I'm going to use the blue dog bowl. I found some cute blue butterfly stickers at Dollar Tree that match the blue of the bowl quite well. I placed the stickers on the bowl covering the paw prints. and letters, but leaving the background blue once the stickers are on, I will add several coats of mod podge to seal.
Then I will re-glue one of the small acrylic bowls to the bottom center. Now Nikki is going to fill the organizer by filling the base first. Then with Bobby pens, she took one of these lunch containers from Dollar Tree, took it apart and in the small salad dressing section she put some braids and in the larger section she added fabric headbands, in the other side added clips and then placed the lunch container. inside the container and filled with scrunchies, the outside of the container was the perfect place to stack and store headbands and the lid created the perfect storage space for elegant clips and bobby pins that ran all the way around the edge with bobby pins in the middle section. the rim and center and small bowl became the perfect home for hair bows.
Place the lid on top and you have a hair accessory organizer that packs a big punch and takes up super small bowl space. I painted it white and glued it back into one of the acrylic bowls in the center, which created a space to store hair ties and a hole to hold bobby pins. It is much smaller, but the sides of the bowl can be used to store clips, although you lose storage space, there are benefits to using the side of the dog bowl. above, one is a more streamlined organizer and two, the container fits better as a lid this way, but both ways will work, it really depends on what type of accessories you have and what you need most.
Wow, things look great in there for our skin. and hair care and it looks like makeup is next, like the skin care organizers we designed. Two options, one is a rotating display and the other is more of a cart to make the rotating makeup organizer. I bought a set of these microwaveable bowls from Dollar Tree that come two to a pack from the kitchen section, one of the pencil and paintbrush organizers from the craft section, and the square acrylic bowls from the party section. I'm also going to use one of the small bowls and one of these wide stretchy ribbons that come in a multipack and are in the hair accessories section and a bag of 80 pearl beads from the floral section and the first thing I'm going to do is put together the pencil and brush organizer, then I want to attach the headband to two of the posts, I'm going to apply a little bit of E6000 to two of the posts, as well as a little bit of hot glue.
I will then take the cut headband and wrap one end around one of the posts, holding it until the hot glue hardens and then I will make the headband. To the second post add some hot glue and wrap the other end holding it again until the hot glue is ready. I will then add a little E6000 glue along the edge of the brush and pencil organizer and then place it in one of the bowls. making sure it was sitting evenly, I then glued four of the square acrylic bowls to the top of the organizer, covering it with a small bowl, once the glue was set and cured I took the second bowl and added half a bag or 40 beads and then I placed the organizer on top and was ready to fill Nikki first placed the brushes on the base using the hair band as a support, then added some palettes and lashes to the bottom section, on top she added mascara and eyeliner to one of the square bowls primers. to other eyelinerslips and lipsticks to a third and foundation and concealers to a quarter and above a foundation mixer with its extremely small size this makeup organizer works well in any small space but just like the skincare organizer when used in one corner, its round shape assumes maximum space-saving capacity for the second makeup organizer.
We used a Dollar Tree Square cutting board and a metal napkin holder, both from the kitchen section, two pencil holders from the office section, and the acrylic dessert glasses and square bowls from the party section. then we'll line them up as shown and just glue them in place with a little bit of E6000 and then set them aside to dry at least overnight and then once that's done Nikki first filled the organizer with some popsicles and eyelashes on the napkin holder. and then eye cream, eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow pencils and foundation tubes on one side of the pencil holder, and then lipstick, lip gloss, lipsticks and lipsticks on the other side, the row of dessert glasses on the back it was the perfect home for a large brush.
The collection and square bowls provided ample space for foundation, concealer, Spritz finish and a blending sponge and then once we put it away it was time to move on to our nail care organizers and then Once again, we design two options for nail care, one is a rotating display and the other is a cart to store the rotating nail care organizer. I'm going to make the base the same way as the skin care organizer at the beginning of the video, starting with two of the small burner covers. I'll pour the bead bag into one and then set the second burner lid aside.
I'm going to make a stencil again using the base of a pencil and brush organizer, but this time using my wider nail polish bottle to determine where I need to stick the brush organizer. On the burner cap I will mark with a pencil and then glue the base to the burner cap in that location using a little E6000 glue for the top of the organizer. I'm going to use four of the square bowls in a diamond shape and then I'm going to place Two of the tall dessert glasses on either side I'm going to glue them in place using a bit of E6000 of course and when I put the first square bowl in I'm going to place it on the surface of the brush organizer with the corner over the edge. a little in the front, then I lined up the others behind with the two tall glasses on either side, then set them aside again for the glue to harden and cure for filling.
Nikki placed a bunch of fake nail kits underneath and then nail polish bottles in front, bottom tier above, started with a tube of hand cream in one of the square bowls, then nail files and cuticle oil in each one of the tall glasses, a nail buffer and a bottle holder in the number two square bowl and manicure tools. I found a home in the third and cotton balls in the fourth and then we have another fantastic little 360° organizer for the nail care cart. I bought one of these plastic storage containers from Dollar Tree with a latching lid and handle, and yes this one is in the $125 section I also bought one of these card containers from the teaching section and more square bowl cups I think which at this stage are giving the E6000 a run for its money and then simply put, the card case can be used to hold nail polish bottles the square bowls can hold cotton balls manicure tools, buffers and holders and care of cuticles the open space on the side is perfect for a dispenser type bottle of nail polish remover that I also bought at Dollar Tree and two tubes of hand cream and even one or two false nail kits and then you can just close the handle lid and put it away.
Dollar Tree also had this other shorter, wider plastic storage container with latching lid and handle again in the do25 section which is perfect for creating a pedicure kit to this container I added two of the small white containers that come three for 25 and one of the longer, thinner containers that also come three for $125 and are in the storage and organization area to fill Nikki added foot cream toe separators a puma Stone foot brushes and files moisturizing socks soakers and foot exfoliation and in the open space it is perfect for a small egg and here is the best part, the containers can be removed and the container can be used as a container for foot soaking, so let's take a look.
Now how things are shaping up, our skincare and hair look great, the makeup looks pretty good too and the Manny and Petty kits are amazing, but oh no, what do we have here? A jumbled jungle of jewelry and a Hodge Podge clutch. Don't worry, we've got you covered again with special jewelry and bag organizers. Let's start with the jewelry due to its relatively small size and typically delicate construction. Jewelry tends to be something that really needs organization just to keep it intact and free of damage. Unfortunately, traditional jewelry boxes tend to be expensive and clunky, take up valuable dresser and counter space, and aren't really that easy to use since you have to go in and out of drawers and sections to find what you want. you are looking for.
Wall mount display cases are a great alternative as they are not. It only allows you to see all your items at a glance, but also frees up and tidies up your dresser and countertops; however, they tend to be considerably more expensive and require mounting to studs or the use of invasive anchors for hanging. A more affordable and portable alternative is the closet or back of the door hanging option, this allows you to organize the store and see your items at a glance, but at a much more affordable price, this type of organizer usually Comes with plastic pockets on the front and back or with material loops, hooks and hangers. or a combination of both, let's see if we can make a version of each of these using some Dollar Tree products, so for the plastic pocket to plastic pocket version I chose two of the Dollar Tree pocket chart programmers of the teaching section.
I'm going to use two different colors for illustrative purposes, but I'll recommend getting two of the same color first. I removed the cardboard insert, but as you can see the programmer only has one long, thin pocket per level to make the sections I'm going to run. a thin squirt of hot glue inside the pocket along the back, then press the plastic to make smaller pockets and then the best thing about DIY is that you can make these sections as large or as small as you like to accommodate your collection of specific jewelry. After I made all the pockets I took the two organizers and placed them back to back then I took a child size hanger that I bought from Dollar Tree and then I added in between the two organizers with the hanging hook sticking out of the top and then I attached the two organizers with a good amount of hot glue and I also reinforced them with a few touches of E6000 and then I put the two pieces together making sure the glue formed a good tight joint and a good tight seam and I did so. around the edge of the organizer the result is a two sided high capacity personalized organizer that you can hang in your closet or also on the back of a door and be able to see all your jewelry at a glance. bad for about three dollars now if you prefer the material style organizer with loops and hangers, here's our version from Dollar Tree.
We picked up two of these ribbed velcro mats from the hardware section and some black felt and this metallic ribbon from the craft section. I'm going to start by cutting the felt into 1 and 1/2 squares. I will be using these to create small felt flaps to hold the earrings so I thought I would take a pin and create small holes in the felt, however I have found that this may not be necessary as the earrings go through quite easily but if you have If you have difficulty making holes with your earrings, use the pin. first may be a good option, then I took the fluted mat and placed it front side down, then I took a sample of the earrings I wanted to store here to determine the spacing between the felt pieces as I will be using this organizer for more time. earrings I spaced them accordingly, but if you have a lot of earrings or shorter earrings, your spacing will be different, so I simply marked the area with a ruler and marker and lined up the felt pieces.
I then applied some hot glue to the line and glued the top. from the felt piece, this created little flaps that I can attach the earrings to to create hooks to hold thin, lightweight necklaces. I found this metal ribbon at Dollar Tree, how cute it looks and it's perfect for this application, so I just cut off one piece. along the length and hot glued it in place and then from here the leaves of the ribbon create little hooks for hanging lightweight necklaces, but I know what you're thinking and yes, I agree. Dollar Tree's unicorn status in this case is probably pretty high, but don't do it.
Don't worry, this next option for heavier necklaces and bracelets works well here too, so as it will also be a two-sided hanging organizer, the other side will be for heavier necklaces and bracelets and an option to create stands is taking more time. thinner pieces of felt to create loops that can be attached at the ends with velcro, the strips can then be attached to the mat and the velcro loops will hold the jewelry. I think felt will work well for these lighter pieces, but my concern would be for heavier pieces like this, whether it's a necklace for these.
I think the best option would be strips of this nylon strap from a Dollar Tree tote bag. I'm also going to place pieces of velcro on each end of these strips and again you can pick up the velcro at Dollar Tree in the hardware section and I'm going to use a little bit of hot glue here for extra adhesion and then I'm going to place those strips on the mat that I went over first with my pieces to determine spacing, then measured and marked them. where they needed to be glued into place, I will use the available space at the bottom to create holders for some bracelets again using the bag strap and some velcro and then once all the hooks and loops are in place it is time to add the hanger. so I'm going to go ahead and put the two mats back to back and put the hanger between them and then I'm going to glue all the edges together.
I'm also showing this one with a full size hanger to show how you can get more. storage there through the ends of the hanger if that's something you could use and then again I just wanted to point out again how I used a healthy amount of hot glue and then pressed the two pieces together to ensure a tight seal and then again the result is a Personalized high capacity double sided organizer that you can hang in your closet or also on the back of a door and be able to easily examine your jewelry to make the perfect selection now if you like the aspects of both organizers, no problem just do it .
You can use the mat for one side of the organizer and then simply place the pocket planner on the other side. This way you can get some clear plastic pockets on one side and some velcro loops on the other, another good option for organizing jewelry. These are jewelry display STS, they take up little space while providing ample options for organizing and displaying your jewelry. There are some great designs and the prices are pretty good too, but let's see what we can do with some one dollar Tre items for our selection. above a wooden box two canvases one 6X 8 inch and 1 8X 10 on some wooden dowels and a pack of wooden cubes all from the craft section to get you started.
I took the material off the canvases, they come off pretty easy and you can tear them off with then use your hands or use pliers. I took two of the wooden cubes and glued them to the top of the larger frame, marking just a little on each side, then I took four more cubes and spaced them evenly between the first two. I mark the dots with a pencil, then glue them in place and set them aside. I like to use this bom glue that I get from Lowe's, but any wood glue would work here. Now I took the smaller frame and to that I wanted to add the wooden DS. a little long so I cut them about 2 inches and then once cut I use some sandpaper to smooth the edge.
I will glue the first one to the top of the frame leaving a little space at the top since this D is going to hold earrings and I will need to be able to leave room to get the brackets through, I will glue the second D 4 from the bottom of the frame and although this glue will dry, I wanted to clean it up a bit. Of that excess I will leave that piece aside and will now work onthe wooden box. I have some rattle blocks on hand, so I'll use them here, but if you don't have any rattle blocks, three wooden cubes lined up would work. just as well and what I'm going to do is glue them to the bottom of the box to create little sections.
Then I went back to the larger wooden frame and now I'm going to glue two of the cubes to the side of the top and a 5 inch one down, set it aside and go back to the wooden box and the smaller frame. I added some quick, thick glue to the bottom of the frame and the back of the Jenga pieces and then attached the frame. in the Box, I'm actually doing this in real time, which is what I like about fast, thick glue, since regular wood glue would take longer to set. I then took the larger frame and added some glue to the bottom and then attached it to the back of the box.
I now glued the two wooden cubes on the left side before joining them together for further fortification. I added a little glue to a craft stick and attached it to the back of the organizer along the seam where the frame is. and the wooden box are located from here, you can set the organizer aside to let the glue dry, preferably overnight. You can paint or stain if you want, but here it is natural, the sections of the box can hold smaller items like earrings and the section on the back. Ideal for a watch, the Dows can hold dangling earrings as well as bracelets and rings.
The bracelet can also find a place on the side squares of the larger frame and the necklaces can hang from the top squares. Also, the holes on the side of the box are perfect. if you need to power it through a charger, if your watch is smart and now moving on to bags, there are many great options available. I really love these stylish looking divider style organisers, especially the acrylic ones and also the behind the door hanging options as I think it's always a great way to utilize unused space, especially for bulkier items like bags, but let's start with the acrylic version.
To make our decision, we chose five of the 10 x 8 acrylic frames and one. 24 inch sign, it doesn't matter what is on the front as that won't be seen. I first place the front of the sign down by removing the hanger and the frames will sit on the board and can be spaced to your needs. I placed mine about 2 and 1 12 inches apart and glued it in place using a little E6000 glue before gluing it. I will remove the paper insert and the thin plastic protective layer that comes on these types of frames once all the frames are attached to the board.
I will set the organizer aside for the glue to set at least overnight, then it will be ready to fill up and as you can see it will accommodate full size bags and plus if there is space on your shelf you can add a bag to On the front and back of the unit to hang over the door a bag organizer, we picked up one of these, over the door hooks, three cooling racks, although I show four here, I really only needed three and some zip ties first, I took one of the racks and centered them on the hooks, then zip tied them in place as shown sample below.
I took a second rack and zip tied it to the end of the first rack and then repeated it for the third, once all three racks were attached I added some S hooks start to go on top and attach the first Hook on the bottom crossbar over the door unit and then zip tie to secure. I then place the second hook on the center crossbar of the shelf to attach the next hook. I skipped the next cross bar and placed the third hook where the two shelves meet. I continued that pattern of skipping a crossbar across the organizer and then once all the hooks were in place and secured, it was time to add the bags.
I added mine from the smallest to the longest. Lastly, I thought it looked more attractive, but I think it can also be more functional and that brings us to the next section: tricks for organizing closets and drawers, it's an old problem: clothes, shoes, accessories and limited storage options no structured from Andor. Nightmares like this, sadly, people have even been known to eat their closets in an effort to prevent this tragedy. We turn to places like Amazon The Container Store or our favorite retailers for answers and in our Valiant Quest sometimes we find a solution just right. -Inexpensive solution, but unfortunately sometimes that perfect solution also comes with an incredibly high price and then in an ironic twist, it's the sticker shock that ends up killing us, so let's see what we can do about it and stop by Dollar Tree to pick it up. some everyday items we can hack so we can create affordable storage solutions.
We started this in the last section of the video where we covered bags and jewelry and in that video we made a bag organizer by putting up acrylic frames from Dollar Tree for a dollar. 24-inch tree sign that mimics the very current look of these high-end offerings for a fraction of the price. However, the frames do have a tilt, but for the bags the tilt wasn't really an issue, however, it was kind of a benefit for that application. When trying to recreate these acrylic shelf dividers equally in Trend, I thought that if I was going to use the acrylic frames again I would have to find a way to straighten them and I did so with the help of a cool tip. from a viewer, but I'll share more about that later in the video because what I discovered was that you really don't even need to straighten the frames.
It turns out that the weight of the clothes will automatically straighten them creating a nice straight divider for I followed the same process as the purse organizer using a 24 inch Dollar Tree sign and some acrylic frames. You can use the 10x8 or the 8x10 here depending on the height you need. Next, I remove the paper insert and plastic protective film from the frames. then I took the board and turned it upside down from here, the placement of the frames on the board will depend on the size and volume of the clothing you are storing and can be customized to suit your needs, for example large size t-shirts Women's hoodies will require less space than men's plus-size hoodies, so you can place piles of the clothes you want to store on the board and mark accordingly.
For the purpose of this example, I'm going to work with men's oversized sweaters and hoodies as such each. The stack takes up the entire half of the board, so I mark the midpoint, then place a frame at each end of the board with the backs facing each other, then I'll place a third frame where I measured and marked and then glue them all together. its place. Using E6000 from here the glue should harden at least overnight but then it will be ready and as you can see once the frame is placed on the bottom the side is flexible enough to yield to the weight of the clothes enough to straighten but then it's stiff. enough to hold it straight and keep the stacked clothes nice and neat, and the best thing about this design is that it also works on wire shelves and here's another great Dollar Tree hack for creating shelf dividers.
Pick up some of these jot tablet stands available in office section, you can place it in multiple positions to hold your tablet, but if you place it on its side it also works great as a shelf divider, you can place it directly on a shelf or attach it to a sign from Dollar Tree as in the previous example and now. moving from shelves to the hanging area of closets which also needs help on how to make the most of the space depending on your situation you may need a place to store smaller items such as underwear and accessories my son really I had this. problem when he moved from his bedroom into an unfinished apartment and lost storage space in the drawers, as we didn't want to deal with the hassle and expense of buying and then moving a dresser.
I made a hanging basket storage unit like this one for you to choose from. I uploaded three of these baskets from Dollar Tree, a pack of plastic hangers, and some zip ties. I started by tying one hanger to each side of the basket and did this for all three baskets once all three baskets had the hangers attached to the sides that I attached. The tear is attached by zip tying the hook portion of the second hanger Below the hanger attached to the first basket. I did this on both sides and then repeated to join the second and third tier.
The result is a three-tier hanging organizer ideal for storing a variety of wardrobe items such as pants, shirts and scarves, it is also excellent for storing underwear such as socks, panties, briefs, teas and bras, and it is also a great home for accessories like belts, ties and hats, on the other hand, maybe you're short on hanging space and can really use some space-saving hanger options that take advantage of the space below; In that case, there are plenty of great options on the market, including magic hanger options like these bra and tank top hangers, these multi-pair pants hangers like these, and accessory hangers. like these, let's look at some options from Dollar Tree to create similar solutions, starting with the magic hook hanging connector.
If you have these felt hooks with a thin metal hook, a good alternative to the magic hook would be to use this chain to hang plants. Use a pair of pliers to disconnect the chain from the bracket, then take one of the chains and thread a link through the first hanger. You can add additional hangers and clothing items at the links below, this will reduce what is actually hanging from the pole and It will help fill the unused space underneath. Plus, you'll get three chains for every $125 plant hanger. If you have plastic hangers with thicker hooks, you can create a chain.
Using these book clips, simply put the first one on a hanger and add the others next, then just add your clothes and voila, another popular space saving hanger seems to be these bra and camisole hangers to make one with Dollar items Tree I chose. A pack of plastic hangers, a cooling rack, and some zip ties, but before we begin, a quick note about scheduling. If you watch part three of the series, you'll know we had a little coffee drinking game inspired by our viewer's P, Shell, for every mention of E6000. and in that video there was a lot of E6000, in this one it will be zip ties, now back to our bra hanger, first I took a wire cutter, I cut a strip of the cooling rack and I'm cutting towards the inside of the little bump. there at the bottom of the rack to get a nice straight piece as the cut leaves a bit of a sharp edge.
I put a little hot glue on the cut pieces to avoid any chance of scratches or chips. Then I took one. from the hangers and zip tied it to the top of the shelf strip. I'm using contrasting zip ties here as an illustration, but zip ties that match the color of your hanger would be preferred to attach the second hanger. I'm going to slide it up and Under the cross bar of the first hanger it's important that the second and subsequent hangers go up and down, so let me show you that again and then I'll line it up with the next cross bar on the strip and the I will tie in place.
Then I'll go back and tie the hook of that second hanger right below the hook of the first one. I will repeat this for the third hanger, going up and under the cross bar of the second, securing it to the cross section and then to the hook at the top and now here is the piece with the five hangers attached and I went back and changed the zip ties to to match and wear them on camisoles and tank tops. You hang them as usual, then the Dollar Tree hangers have this little hook on the inside and you can just bend it to keep it in place.
Pretty, secure bras are a little trickier for those. I wrap them around the inside of the bottom bar and then I wrap them around and through the little hook and here it is with the clips and the cams. It provides a nice and secure hold in a vertical hanging option, but this hanger is not just for bras, tank tops and camis because of the way we position the hangers, the cross bars are still accessible so they can be used for hanging other items such as pants and long skirts. Simply fold it in half and slide it through the rungs and it also works for shirts and accessories like baseball caps.
These clip-on hooks also seem to be very popular and to make a hacked version I used two hooks along with these electric clips from the Dollar. Tree using wire cutters. I cut the cross bar from one of thehangers and then slid the clips right next to them using some White Electric iCal tape. I taped it to the second hanger making sure to leave enough room for the clips and then added zip ties in the middle to make it more secure from here you can clip the hats and then hang them in your closet for storage and this hanger works great for scarves, ties, belts and even tank tops and camisoles now if you are the opposite of my son and have a lot more drawer space than closet space.
Here are a couple of tricks for organizing drawers. First, here's a quick and easy organizer for small items like socks, underwear, ties, etc. Grab some poster board or foam board from Dollar Tree and while you're there, also pick up a couple of packages of these cardboard candy cups. They are short and wide and made from a thick layer of cardboard and this variety came in packs of 10. I arranged them in a pattern that would fit in my drawer and then glued them to the cardboard so they would stay in place. I then placed the combo in my drawer and they were ready to fill, you can use them for socks, underwear, ties, etc.
Another popular drawer organizer are these drawer dividers so you can divide your dresser drawers into smaller sections to make folded clothes easier to keep. They usually come with some type of adjustable mechanisms that you can customize based on the specific size of your drawer, but since most dresses or drawers measure 14 to 15 from front to back, you basically need something that is at least as long, making these Dollar Tree scratch boards almost 16 inches long. They are a good choice to work with, they are sturdy and dense, but can also be easily cut to size. My dresser drawer measures 15 from front to back, so I measured and cut the board to size with a utility knife to add stability to the board.
I'm going to take two of these wooden slots that come in a six-pack and glue them to the bottom. Now if you want to decorate the board a little, you can always cover them with fabric or adhesive paper or these little vinyl sheets that Dollar Tree can also take, but since only the top will be visible once you place it in the drawer with the clothes , I'll just wrap the edge with ribbon. And there it is, an easy, affordable, customizable and effective drawer divider for your dresser. However, there is a problem with this type of drawer organization as it is great when the drawer is fully stocked but as you use items the remaining clothes tend to fall out and fall apart, that is where we can make use of the frames Dollar Tree acrylics again. time in smaller sizes like these that fit in your drawers and can then be used to slide under unused items to keep them tidy.
Now this works great as is, but if you want to straighten the base you can use a heat tool as suggested. by a viewer named Vogan I tried it and it worked, it takes some time and yes you need a heat gun but I just heated the base and then kept pressing it on the end of a square table and after about four or five minutes, done. Straight G shoes are a certifiable disaster that often, without organization, end up in piles at the back of your closet, in a corner, or by the entryway. Fortunately, there are several good, inexpensive options available to clear up the mess.
I really like Theo's since they take advantage of unused space and can usually be stored behind a closet or bedroom door. I like mesh better than plastic as you can see through but it still allows your shoes to breathe, just make sure you have bigger shoes. the larger size pockets, however, if you were to camp saying you've done that and it doesn't really work for me, the pockets get dirty, the shoes get crushed and even the large size is too small for my shoes and instead I crave something like this little beauty from The Container Store and getting impatient waiting for that ship to arrive, here's our version of Dollar Tree products to make.
I started with an over-the-door hook, three cooling stones from the kitchen section, and some zip ties. I then attached the shelves the same way I did for the over the door purse organizer in the last video, centering the shelf on the hook and then tying the zipper in place as shown. I then added the second cooling rack to the bottom of the first and the third cooling rack to the bottom of the second using zip ties to create the shoe rack fixture. I grabbed three of the long white hooks from the Dollar Tree over the door and first I'm going to remove the part that goes over the door by bending it. back and forth a few times until it comes off and I'll do it on both sides.
Next, I'm going to straighten the hooks by gently bending them out and back, then repeat for all three and once complete, attach them. To the cooling racks, I will place the first one on the top rack across the center crossbar of the rack, center it, and then tie it in place. Next, I'll go to the right side and tie that side at the bottom, making sure to place the zip tie on top of the cross bar at the top right. I will do it around the edge of the shelf and through the white hanger making a loop under and above the top crossbar.
Then I'll repeat that on the top left and also secure the on the bottom on the left side, again making sure to place the zip tie over the crossbar of the cooling rack. A final zip tie will go around the top crossbar of the white hook and go through the two center wires of the cooling rack. Now the space to place the next hook unit will vary depending on the shoe sizes you are trying to accommodate, as we have humongous sizes here from 10 to 14 feet. I am going to keep the space to place a hook unit in the middle section of the shelf for the two additional shelves as an extra safety precaution.
I'm going to take some pencil erasers and stick them on the ends and you're going to need some E6000 here since you're dealing with metal and rubber. Dollar Tree now sells these colorful ones, but if that bothers you, you can paint them or buy more neutral brick-colored ones at another retailer. This setup holds nine pairs of shoes, but you can move the hook units closer together if your shoe size allows and you can also add additional cooling vents to the bottom, another popular option for shoe organization. . is the shoe rack, many of which also have good reviews in the $10 to $20 range, which at these prices can't really be duplicated for cheaper, so we were going to stop making one of these, however, There is a problem with these shelves.
Since they require about 2 to 3 feet of open vertical space to accommodate the height, this could be a challenge in a tight situation, you may only have limited space at the bottom of your closet that could probably fit just one single layer, but for some It's a strange reason why these single tier organizers are ridiculously high priced, so we decided to go ahead and put together a single tier version using Dollar Tree products that include two dustpans, two 8x10 canvases and a pack of wood slots. First I removed the canvas from the frames, then took two of the slots and glued the frames to the slots using wood glue.
You can leave it as is, but I decided to go ahead and paint mine black. I then unscrewed the picker posts and used zip ties that I attached. Place them in the frames on the side of the pole that had the handle. I used two zip ties through the hole in the handle on the side with the screw. I used two zip ties criss-crossing each other and secured them in place and then repeated. on the other side and that's it, a modern looking shoe rack similar to the high priced ones at a fraction of the price, you can place three pairs on top and three pairs below and last but not least we have organization and boot storage, we thought.
These freestanding shelves were great and to make a duplicate Dollar Tree version we picked up six solar lights, another 24 inch sign, some Whiffle balls, and more of those wooden planks. First I turned the board upside down and then using a tape measure I marked the board at 2 6 10 14 18 and 22 inches next I turned the board over and measured and marked 4 inches on each side. I then took four of the wood planks and glued them to the board at that 4 inch mark and used E6000 plus. some hot glue to stick to the solar lights, it would be great to use older lights that no longer work, but if you buy new, remove all the labels and the lights will probably still have a solar charge, but then it will fade a little.
I assembled the lights by removing the stakes from the bottom, took the Whiffle balls, and stuck the pointed end of the steak through a hole in the ball. It will have a nice, snug fit and will require some twisting to get the steak inside. the ball and be careful the fillet doesn't come out through one of the other holes, then when all the balls were attached I took some E6000 and glued the solar lights to the board by lining up one of those little screws on the light with the brand. On the board, once all the lights were attached, I set it aside to let the glue set overnight since it will be going in a dark closet and we will have boots covering it most of the time.
This organizer is probably ready at this stage, but giving it a coat of spray paint will give it a more finished look and then a fun little DIY ST boot would also be a great way to use up any of those solar lights that have run their course. course and now let's move on to another. place that tends to get a little Ry and that is laundry areas, let's start with these nylon mesh laundry bags. They come in one large bag per package or three small bags per package, but for this trick we will use the large bags that I will also use some plastic hangers and zip ties and if you are using the plastic hangers from Dollar Tree, you will have to remove this section from here from here.
I took one of the hangers and placed the open end of the mesh laundry bag on it. then at the top I took the back of the bag and wrapped the material around the bottom of the hanger. I took a zip tie and ran it through the mesh and around the hanger to secure it on one side and then the other. the second hanger and put it on top, but in the opposite direction, zip tying first at the top of the hook and then on each side of the hook. I then used six zip ties on the bottom to attach the two hangers to the back of the bag between the hangers and thread the zip ties through the mesh into the bag wrapping and securing the zip tie around the hangers and repeated this again for a total of six ties and then once it was complete I went back and cut all of them Tails, this is a great bag to hang dirty clothes and you can make just one and use it as a hamper but I actually made three to use as a clothes sorter for dark and white colors to make labels.
I used these little chalkboard picks from the Dollar Tree. I removed the sticks and then used E6000 to glue it to the top of the hanging bracket. I used some hooks with screws now since my laundry room is still on top of my little fixer that still needs a little repair. I have this thick. wooden panels on the walls to be able to screw directly to the wall; however, if this were drywall, I would have needed to use anchors. Also, I placed the hook pretty low on the wall so that once hung, the bottom of the bag will sort of sit on the floor so it can absorb most of the weight of the bag as it fills with clothes and believe me, it will fill up with clothes, a lot of clothes most of the time now that I have my clothes organized, it's time to wash I like to use these big detergent bottles that have a little dispenser, what I don't like is the dripping afterwards that makes a mess underneath.
I saw these under-the-spout drippers online and thought they were pretty neat and not too neat. Bad price since they come two per pack, but then I decided to make a DIY version. I took an empty white disinfectant container and cut it in half. I then cut a 2 inch strip to about 1 inch from the bottom. I cut around the base, cleaned up the jagged edges with scissors and also rounded the strip. Then I went back and cut a 1 and 1/2 inch by 1 inch rectangle in the strip near the top. I use a bully to remove the black letters. at the bottom from here I just run the spout through the hole and now I can just put my cup in, fill it up and then any drips that happen afterwards will be caught in the drip tray instead of on top of my washer like for items like aerosols stain removers, gels and pens or items such as wipes and dryer balls or other magnetic accessories.
Hooks and screws can be used alone or with containers to hold these itemsvarious right next to a washer or dryer or on nearby walls when using high-powered magnets. The size of the magnet is important for these tricks to be effective depending on the size and weight of what you are combining with it. To increase strength, you can double or triple weaker magnets if they have the correct polarity and they will stay together like these crafts from Dollar Tree. magnets or add multiple on the surface if not you can also purchase magnets that have extra magnetic strength for example these hook magnets found in the office supplies section are super strong and can easily hold the weight of even this bottle full of stain remover.
Try trapping this center section underneath for a stronger hold. You can place two across to hold something like a whitening pen or place individual magnets right on the side of a container and place them directly on the side of the washer. Alternatively you can use the hooks lengthwise. With slotted baskets simply slide the hooks through the holes. I'm going to use three hooks here to maximize weight capacity. I bought this one at Walmart, but Dollar Tree also sells several slotted baskets that would work and be great options in these baskets. I am storing dryer balls and sheets now, for one reason or another you don't have room on the sides of your washer or dryer, these baskets also work great with hooks or screws in cabinets or on nearby walls, now they are even more of a support Convenient for your dryer sheets. would be one of these magnetic files found in the teaching section, unfortunately the magnet they have is not very strong to fix this, we can reinforce it with some of the craft magnets that you could stick on the back, but I like it Place them right along the inside and the magnetic force will stay in place, then simply fill it with dryer sheets for a super handy dispenser.
Another great use for those craft magnets is to clip them to the back of clothespins and when you find a stubborn sock, you can hang it up. next to their washer or dryer until they find their match, but why do we sometimes never find their match? Where are you all going? Is everyone somewhere having a party? I don't know, I'm starting to think that. may be the case, let me know in the comments if you have any theories about where all the missing socks go. Here's a theory: They may have some terrible reaction to detergent, bleach, or fabric softener and just dissolve and the only thing left is the dryer. lint I don't know, maybe, but wherever it comes from, drier lint definitely exists and here's an idea for a handy magnetic lint receptacle: Grab one of these Dollar Tree scallop containers from the party section and just Add a magnet on the back.
I had these big round ones on hand from Walmart so I used them, you can also add a label if you want. I just printed this one on my computer and then use packing tape to secure it to the inside of the container and that's it. hold all that lint or for all we know the tragic remains of our lost socks, now another possibility may be that the damn socks simply fell to the side or behind the washer dryer when we were changing loads. A good way to avoid this would be to pick up one of these Laundry Room Protectors from Amazon, what a great idea.
They are divided into sections and held in place by magnets so you can customize them to your needs. However, since I would only use one in my dryer and my dryer goes up under the stairs. on the back I would only need it along the sides, so it didn't make sense for me to get a full set to make a DIY version that looks like the Amazon version. I thought about cutting the bottom out of a plastic basket from Dollar Tree. with wire cutters and the baskets also come in white, but I will use blue here for illustration purposes for the frames.
I thought about using the wood on the Dollar Tree 6x8 canvases and you could get enough of the grid in the basket to make. two panels by cutting the GD to the appropriate size and gluing it to the wooden frames; However, to have enough strength to hold the weight of the clothes, the magnets would have to be super strong, maybe metal hooks would work, but you would need three. or four per panel and now the cost is prohibitive not to mention the original hook sticking out of the side, but I love the idea and decided to put function before form and employ the help of the trusty pool noodle.
I simply cut it in half and joined the two pieces together. I could have used a glue like E6000, but I'm going to use some of this double sided mounting tape that I get on Amazon, it's quick and will hold the bond well in this application. The other one is good. The nice thing about using pool noodles is that they can be customized, so in my case I can cut the slope of the steps above my dryer. I'll make two sets, one for each side of the dryer and then since I don't plan on moving this.
I will regularly use double-sided tape to attach the pool noodles to the dry instead of magnets. I love this product, it will stay in place even with the weight of your clothes pushing against it, but whenever you want to take it off, it will come off without damaging the dryer, but you probably can't say the same about the pool noodles, it will probably pull away to the trash. I can now empty the dryer and keep the Cycles running or have a safe folding space without the problem of items falling over the sides in case the plan is to hang the clothes coming out of the dryer then a stand may be necessary for hangers.
I made this one with a paper trailer holder from Dollar Tree and those trusty magnetic hooks you can use alternatively. hooks or screws to attach to the wall, but to attach to the side of the dryer I placed three hooks and then slid the paper towel holder in from here, simply load it with hangers to have them handy and ready now if you have certain clothes you never see the inside of a dryer, especially delicate and I would prefer something like this to hang and air dry, so here is a DIY version from Dollar Tree to make.
I picked up a wire wreath form from the floral section. A pack of clothespins from the laundry section and these little ones. From the hardware section, these cable ties usually come in a package with the small red cable ties and the even smaller black cable ties. I used the red zip ties and put the end of one through the metal clip on the clothespin and then rolled them up. on the outside edge of the wreath shape I placed three fabric pins per section around the outside edge and then two Clos pins per section around the inside loop and then this is what it looks like once all the Clos pins are attached and As I mentioned, I did three per section on the outside edge and two per section on the inside, but you can do whatever works for you.
They also move so you can move around and make room if you need to. From here I will place a chain to hang plants and a dollar. The tree sells them. I bought one, but I don't know where I put it, so I'm actually going to take this one from my plant outside, but in any case, all you need to do is clip them onto the wreath form and it'll be ready to hang. from the shower curtain rod or other area to air drying delicates and other small items. Laundry areas are also where we tend to store irons and ironing boards;
However, if cabinet space is tight, then this trick for shelves and ironing board holders may come in handy. I used two of the metal hanging plant stands from Dollar Tree and the wood from one of these hanging shelves. The shelf will sit on this flat piece inside the bracket and the ironing board will go on these hooks. My ironing board will actually fit on the hooks. However, if you need to widen the hook a little, you can easily do this with pliers. The shelf can then be attached to the bracket using E6000 glue. Simply place some on the holder and place the wooden board right on top once the glue is ready.
Attach the shelf to the wall or use anchors if necessary, a folded ironing board can be secured on the hooks and the shelf makes a great home for an iron and spray starch and now let's move on to ideas for living spaces like the living room. living room, home office and bedroom. and like earlier in this video, we're going to visit Dollar Tree for some ideas and I'll get to those specific Dollar Tree tricks in a moment, but first I want to take a quick detour and take a look at some Amazon Ikea and Thrift items from when.
Speaking of organizing living spaces, I think it's worth spending a few minutes talking about the elephant in the room and by elephant I mean the furniture now, of course, much of this will remain what it is, however the choice of Furniture is a huge part of living space organization so it's worth noting that if, for example, you're looking for an ottoman, don't just buy an ottoman, get an ottoman with storage and take up the square footage taken up by your coffee table. They'll be much easier to organize if you also have storage compartments for virtually any furniture you can buy or pick up secondhand, from a sofa or console table to entry tables, bed frames, nightstands, end tables, and desks.
You have options that incorporate storage, and from an organization perspective, those options are always the best. The best option and again, you don't have to buy new thrift stores. Garage sales and online markets are great ways to find these items and even sell your old items to make room for your new organizationally optimal pieces, but don't just think about the elephants. or large pieces of furniture, most rooms have hidden opportunities to place one or two smaller pieces to aid in living space organization efforts, whether due to odd angles created by larger pieces of furniture or simply odd small spaces that They occur naturally due to the location of a wall. or a door or window has been placed, think of items like chest or chest-style baskets, small shelving, slim cabinets, even slim shoe racks and shoe racks.
I found all of these hinged baskets at the thrift store for between $5 and $155, they needed some minor repairs and a good cleaning. But because of their low height, each is a perfect storage solution when I place them under shelves or under a window to store items like board games, fire logs, and an air mattress. However, if I have the space, I always prefer taller pieces that can be stored, such as shelves. or other pieces with a streamlined footprint depending on the width, I can place them almost anywhere and voila, instant storage space that not only takes advantage of otherwise dead floor space, but also the vertical space above, amplifying storage for create new areas and alleviate demands on other closets, cabinets and drawers - for example, this $99 Ikea shoe storage cabinet, found a home in this awkward and otherwise unusable small space outside my bathroom and now houses my towels, relieving overcrowding in my linen closet.
This awkward Dead Space was created by the placement of my desk and armchair, however, a $59 appropriately sized bookshelf from Amazon turns the space into an attractive storage area that houses my printer files and space for decoration and That silver play button in this strange gap between a door and a partial wall, this $79 metal and wooden cabinet from Ikea found a home and, as with all of these options, a tape measure is your best friend for finding the perfect item in width, depth and height that fits your specific, awkward, unused space and in my case, this cabinet fits perfectly. and transformed my awkward unused space into an all-in-one computer stand with storage for files and folders underneath.
Okay, now let's move on to Dollar Tree tricks, starting with those magazine files on the shelves, like many home offices. Mine is carved out of a section of my living room, so it's not really appropriate nor do I have room for large, bulky pieces like filing cabinets, not to mention the cost of those pieces, so where can you file all those important documents, bills, homework, school work and office supplies? enter one of my all-time favorites, the magazine binder, and Dollar Tree sells them in the office supplies section. They come flat like this in multiple styles and colors and they even have plastic ones.
I like to use them to create a vertical filing cabinet for the home. files like income taxes, insurance benefits, utilities, etc., then inside the magazine file I have two pocket folders like these from Dollar Tree that come three in a pack and I use one folder for eachsubgroup, for example, in the utilities file I have a separate folder for electricity. Water and Internet Income Tax has a folder for each year and Insurance has one for Home Auto Etc. You can then place the magazine holders in a regular cabinet or open shelving to keep files organized at hand and hidden behind of uniform holders and these magazine files are not only great for filing documents, I also use them to store and hide other items, such as envelopes, paper supplies, office supplies, mail manuals, maps and all those cables from the uniforms. that you're not sure where they come from but you're afraid to get rid of them. aUnfortunately, we are afraid to get rid of them, we often have older files, but we still have to keep tax returns, statements and receipts.
Luckily, Dollar Tree has these fantastic file boxes perfect for that purpose, they're about a third the size. of a regular file box and fit perfectly on a bookshelf or regular cabinet, making them perfect for home file use. They are also great for sorting and storing keepsake photos and other similar items. Another great product I like to use to create vertical files are these three ring binders and Dollar Tree sells 1 inch binders like these for $125 in the office section. I use them again along with the two pocket folders and you will notice that these already come with the folder holes pre-punched and also the page with tab dividers. protectors and other inserts like this plastic zipper bag.
Right now I'm using the folders primarily for documents and business paperwork, but I've used them for years with multiple uses including organizing parties and showers, home renovations and during the school years and things like college applications as an example in my business. I use binders to hold items like bank and credit card statement sheet protectors to easily store and display important documents, permits and certificates, while the binder pouch is perfect for receipts, so I can see how this is perfect too for home. applications like parties or home renovations with samples or invitations, for example, in folders, quotes or contracts in sheet protectors, and receipts in that handy folder bag, then one of my favorite uses for this method is a folder full of sheet protectors to store them all. recipe impressions from the internet, speaking of which, if you're interested in amazing meal ideas, especially on a budget, be sure to check out the new series my son Matt and I are doing called the Budget Meal Challenge, where we buy the cheaper items. from the cheapest stores and with quick, easy and delicious meals, most of which are less than $2 a serving, check out the link in the description and at the end of this video, if your idea of the perfect evening is to take your delicious Eat and settle into the couch to watch your favorite show, then one of these space-saving sofa arm tables would be great.
These Amazon examples are actually pretty reasonably priced, but you could make a Dollar Tree version for even less. Pick up one of these 11x14 in wood panels in the plus section for just $3 and two of these mini chalkboards in the crafts section. First I measured the width of the arm of my sofa and it measured 4 and 1/2 inches and then to make sure I had enough clearance, I added 1 and 1/2 inches for a total of 6 inches and that is the distance I wanted to separate my boards. on the wood panel, since the panel is 11 inches wide, I measured at 2 and 1/2 inches each side and marked it there with a pencil, then I lifted the center of the board with the mark and glued the black boards on the wood panel with wood glue, then I set the entire piece aside to let it set overnight to ensure good adhesion the next day, you can paint or varnish to protect the wood surface.
If you don't have varnish on hand, you can buy a bottle of mod podge at Dollar Tree and apply a couple coats to the surface for a good substitute. Then you can slide the tray over the top of your couch arm for a budget-friendly Dollar Tree version of a couch arm table with room for your food, a drink, and your remote. Speaking of the remote, it looks like there's millions of remote controls these days, but these Dollar Tree Pen and Pencil Organizers also make great remote control holders - just place one on the shelf next to or under your TV and slide the remotes in easily, always and when you can get your family members to keep them there now if you want a closer and more remote storage option you can grab one of these pocket pot holders from Dollar Tree, remove the little hanging loop and sew or sew it on the back of the sofa pillow, once placed, you can then place your remote control, a book, your reading or your snacks.
The pocket just reminds you to put it there the next time you reach for that remote. If you prefer a more decorative option for storing your remotes, you can create a quick and easy coffee table tray using one of those wood panels and I could make the rectangular one like we used on the couch arm table, but I'm going to use the square wood panel for this one. It's also $3 in the Plus section. All you need to do is flip it over and over again. If you want to use some paint or varnish to protect it then it's good to go, just use it for Crow items like remote controls, coasters, books, even a small plant to make it even more decorative.
You can also use wood glue to attach some feet like these wooden ones. beads or chunky blocks also from Dollar Tree to create this attractive footed tray for just five dollars, so now you can be frugal, organized and crafty along with trays, other decorative items like bowls, baskets, other decorative containers, even ladders wood and tabletop baskets, all can serve as both decor and storage solutions and guess what all these DIYs are, most of them made with items from Dollar Tree. I've made all of these in previous videos and I'll leave a link to the ones in the description, but for this video just look at how you can use them to help with storage and organization needs.
Let's start with my favorite, this DIY wooden ladder. I originally made it as a plan hanger for my patio, but soon after discovered that I liked displaying and storing blankets in my living room much more. I love that it takes up little space but takes advantage of the unused vertical space above, providing a beautiful home for my blankets and in turn the blankets create a decor piece in their own right, adding texture of color and a cozy softness, especially in my current Softening at home this stone column and also a large basket is also another great container to store blankets and also pillows or toys and since they are DIY these containers are quite inexpensive, you could even elevate your DIY container to create small pieces of furniture like this side table that doubles up.
As a storage container for anything from blankets and toys to hobby and craft supplies, you can even use recycled materials like toilet paper rolls, cans, and cereal boxes to create beautiful decorative pieces that also organize and store items like office supplies and mail, and again. You'll have links in the description if you'd like to check out any of these DIY decorative storage solutions, but if you're not up for DIY, here are some other ready-made options. Dollar Tree usually has a great selection of these decorative nesting boxes. which are great for storing all kinds of small items, then simply replace the lid and stack them on a shelf or table and your storage will serve as decoration in a bedroom.
They can be used to hide and store things like hair accessories, makeup or jewelry in an office. space, they can be used for office supplies and in a living room to store items like craft supplies or even small video games, they also fit in larger boxes, but if you're like me, you probably need a lot more video game storage than Fortunately, I found these Refrigerator Soda Can Storage Containers from Dollar Tree to be the perfect solution for the more robust collection. These containers will hold almost all digital entertainment cases, from DVDs to CDs, PlayStation, Xbox, Wii, Twitch and you can buy one for each type to keep your audio, video and gaming collections nice and organized.
The bins fit perfectly on a TV stand or shelf and can be removed and then replaced when you're done if your toys that need storage look a lot less so. and much more like this, then this Toy Bin hack using these large bags of parachute material can be a good option. They are extra large, measuring 19 by 17 inches and then 7 inches wide and that parachute material is virtually indestructible. My store had this nice one. multicolored pastel pattern that would look great in a kids room or family room, just fill it with toys and hang it on one of those out of the way walls and these bags have a huge capacity to give you an idea that they contained over 30 of those Webkins sized stuffed animals, alternatively you can store them behind your sofa or a bed by simply pulling your sofa or bed a few inches from the wall and sliding the bags back and don't think that the toys use this back of the bed or the sofa.
Hack for sheets, towels, clothing or other soft items that can get squashed and here's another bed hack if you have space issues around your bed like me. I saw the handy little bed shelves on Amazon, but decided to make my own version from Dollar Tree. I grabbed one of these shelves from Dollar Tree and two wooden pallets from the kitchen section. I glued the pallets to the shelf using wood glue and let the glue harden overnight, first I added a couple of heavy items on top, like these candles, to ensure a tight bond and then voila, a mini $4 side table for my small space and the perfect size to hold my glasses, phone and a remote and yes, it still clears the closet door.
It's pretty crafty and speaking of crafty, here are a ton of organization ideas for craft supplies, but even if you're not a crafter. You're sure to find multiple ideas that you can use to organize other items in your home, so let's go ahead and jump right in with one of my favorite Dollar Tree pieces for organizing craft supplies, and they are these food storage containers with blue lids. They come in various shapes and sizes with different depths, lengths and widths and are great for sorting and storing all types of craft materials, such as floral foam, floral tape, wire, moss and other floral accessories.
They are also perfect for corralling items like glitter bottles that fit. Perfectly inside or stickers that you can easily flip through to find what you need longer stickers and sticker wrappers and your stencil collection will also fit nicely in these containers. You can mix and match the shapes and sizes to best fit your items and further separate similar ones. items, for example raffia and twine, from thicker ropes and ribbons, then you can label your items and stack them all in a cabinet or on a shelf to keep them nice and tidy. Another option for organizing ribbons is to use a Dollar Tree wire spice rack.
Simply place the rolls between the wire to keep them in place. Use one or more if you have a larger ribbon collection, but keep in mind that this solution only works for the smaller rolls; However, here is a solution for larger rolls using one of these white plastic storage containers. They come three in a pack of 25 and have plastic hangers with a wire cutter. I cut the cross bar from the three hangers and then slid them through the holes in the storage container at the bottom center and top. I can then hang the holder on the wall and use it to store the larger rolls, another craft supplies trick that uses both the small white basket and the wire spice rack is to make a rack to store craft paint.
I start by tying the container to the bottom shelf of the wire rack and then turning the shelf on its side and then gluing the wooden rulers from Dollar Tree to the shelf using E6000. I will use the paint to weigh the rulers so the glue dries properly and the next day it will be ready to use to store the paint on the legs than before. The old spice rack can also be used to hold paintbrushes. Those spice racks are handy, but one of my favorite Dollar Tree pieces fororganizing my craft space is the wire plate holder.
I use it for almost everything, from scrapbooking paper to pans and wood. From signs to frames, plates and more, you can also place them vertically and pair them with containers like these Dollar Tree plastic pencil cases from the teaching section to Crow items like pens, wreaths and markers, then slide them onto the vertical shelf to keep them in place. its place for smaller storage. boxes, you can combine the shelves with thick rubber bands to create small shelves. I simply place the rubber bands along the shelf rungs, then fill the containers with craft supplies and slide them onto the shelves to store back on a desk or hang.
On the wall you can use any variety of containers or trays, as long as the containers and/or their contents are not too tall. To use this method to store taller containers and door items, simply remove one or more of the rungs with wire cutters to accommodate the height. Then, again use elastic bands to create the shelves, now that you have room to accommodate taller items, either in containers or just sitting on the shelf. Another wire organizer from Dollar Tree that makes great shelves is the wire dish rack, simply run the elastic bands along the long side attach a pair of legs on each side and then voila, a two tier rack ready to go. contain larger containers like these Dollar Tree plastic shoe boxes.
Another option would be to run a rubber band or two along the short side to make a cube-style shelf. which you can use alone or together with baskets, you can make as many as you need to accommodate the craft materials you have. I like to hang these shelves on the wall using these handmade shelf brackets that are available at most home stores and on Amazon, and I will. leave a link in the description. Another awesome use of these plate racks for craft supplies is to create half shelves by simply gluing wooden Dollar Tree signs on top with a strong adhesive, something like E6000, simply add the glue to the top of the shelf and then place the wooden side on top and weigh the shelf until dry then your shelf is ready to double your space and you can make them to fit any area like this Square One using one of the shelves or you can make two with longer rectangular boards for By placing longer shelves, you will be able to make the most of your shelf space by storing smaller items underneath while still leaving room on top for more items or storage containers like these plastic shoe boxes that , along with the food storage containers seen earlier in the video, are my go-to.
Sort and store craft supplies, from washi tape to boxes of wooden parts and toiletries, small clothing and plastic containers, toy labels, hooks and a variety of other items that can then be labeled and stacked on shelves for storage . I also like to use them to store extra paint. That's not part of my everyday collection, they fit most smaller size paints, but here's another idea for storing and displaying paint for larger paint bottles. Dollar Tree sells these little shelf signs for almost every holiday. I buy these in the fall and they are perfect. Holder for larger paint bottles.
I just glued on some of these brackets I bought at Lowe's. I let the glue harden and they were ready to hang and hold my paintings. As far as spray paints go, these plastic baskets from Dollar Tree are the perfect size to hold. five cans, you can get them in different colors to match your paints, then just stack them and store them on a shelf, as for those pieces of wood that are too big to fit in containers, how about a stand on the wall or al side of a shelf? Made with scraps of stationery from Dollar Tree, use removable hooks placed along the wall or side of the bookshelf and secure them like this or use screws for a more permanent hold.
I actually used screws along the sides and hooks that I painted black on the bottom to secure them. file holders to the wall and then they will be ready to fill with longer items, such as pieces of wood and paint sticks, these holders are also a great option for other long and difficult to store items, such as wrapping paper, contact paper, Cricut vinyls, window clings, and other large craft materials. Speaking of which, items like larger sticker sheets, window clings, and stick-on wall art are often difficult to organize and store, but here's a quick, easy, and affordable option that uses one of these cooling racks. the kitchen section and some elastic hair ties from the hair accessories section.
I simply stretched three of the hair ties around the shelf to create an adjustable holder that can then be filled with oversized stickers, wall art, etc. From there, you can easily find the one you're looking for, make as many as you need, and then hang up. On the wall of your Craft Space I use some picture hangers I bought in the hardware section to hang mine. These would also work well for holding vinyl and scrapbook paper, but this over the door holder is another great option. I bought one of these pocket chart planners from the teaching section and a pack of these button pouches that come three to a pack from the office section.
I placed the chart planner horizontally with the pocket side facing up and then took one of the button binders and tucked the flap inside. From there, I counted three pockets from the top and then applied some E6000 glue to the back of the folder. I then slid the bottom of the folder into that third pocket and pressed the folder into the programmer making sure the glue adhered from there. I took the next folder again, applied glue to the back, counted two sections and added my second folder there again by pressing the folder on the backing to make sure the glue was stuck, then repeated the process again, this time placing the last folder on the bottom.
From there I took a hanger over the door in the laundry section, but since the holes on the programmer don't line up with the hooks, I had to use a couple of zip ties to attach it to the bracket, but from there it's ready to hang. Wow and it's a great holder for 12 inch scrapbook paper and I especially love it because it's a superior option to Theo, it takes advantage of otherwise unused space while keeping it out of my work area, leaving more space for crafts. I'm a big advocate of getting as much stuff off your work surface as possible and we've already seen a lot of these ideas here earlier in the video, but let's take a look at a few more, we've already seen how to combine these plastics.
Containers with a plastic hook crossbar make a handy holder for rolls of tape, but this organizer also works great for tape and other accessories like specialty scissors. Mesh wire baskets like this one, when used in combination with hooks or screws, are another great option for creating a workspace. Storage: Rectangular ones are best because they already have a flat side, but you can also easily flatten the sides of the more oval shaped ones by gently pressing them into shape and then simply attach them to the wall with hooks or screws for a great storage option now Yes You have seen my channel in the past.
You know I'm a big fan of the Dollar Tree shower caddy. Unfortunately, Dollar Tree no longer sells it, but I thought I'd add some in case you have some in your storage. you can pick something up or who knows, Dollar Tree may decide to resurrect for this first option. I removed the middle supports with wire cutters and then attached two of those white zip-tie baskets. I then used more of those thick elastic bands along the bottom to create storage there, the result is a multi-use hanging caddy that I'm using here to store all my glues and that bottom section made a great holder for a tube of putty for the next cart.
I left it intact and then added two. two mesh pencil holders on each side with zip ties, the result was another perfect hanging tool cart with one cup holding my glue gun and the other my heat gun and the space in the middle stores the cables, one of those storage baskets plastic slides to the bottom. rack and holds glue sticks and now you can see again how lifting items off the work surface and putting them away will keep your work surface clear for crafting while keeping your tools and materials close at hand. I hope you enjoyed these organization tricks. to watch the whole house compilation video, if you want to watch the individual episodes I have provided links to the ones in the description along with a link to my Amazon store for the items mentioned or you can watch this video which YouTube has curated only Thank you so much for watching and we'll see you next time.
