10 must know style tips to hide a tummy without shapewear dressing over 40 over 50
The first is that you deserve to look good. Someone wrote a comment on my recent YouTube video where I presented how to look younger and I'll put a link. The video below is really good, but she wrote that unfortunately she doesn't feel like she deserves to look good and I literally started crying because I understand what she means to some of us. Things have happened in our past that we do not understand. We feel like we are worthy, we don't feel like we deserve to look good. I don't

know

if you guys

know

this about me or not, but I've been through a lot in my life and a lot of therapy and a lot of things. of different types of therapy I really love trying alternative therapies and one of the things that caught my attention recently that I hadn't thought about before because I grew up with a father who was an alcoholic, probably also suffering from PTSD, was war from Vietnam. vet, I think he wasn't diagnosed anyway, he abandoned the family and I think that's why for a long time and I think it's something I still struggle with.

10 must know style tips to hide a tummy without shapewear dressing over 40 over 50
It's such a simple thing you can do. something to strategically pull out of your closet and lift your spirits, build your confidence, so for those of you who are not in menopause, perimenopause, you're not sure if you haven't heard anything about menopause on my channel. I've done like four. or five videos about menopause and you can go back and watch them and I'll put a link down below essentially. I've been checking it out. I basically started skipping periods at 42. Now I'm about 46, about to turn 46 and through this. I've done a ton of research and reading and really educated myself on what it does to your body and so I wanted to share something with you that I think is very moving and important when you're going through menopause.
It means that you have a loss of hormones, you have a loss of estrogen, mainly with that loss of hormones that your body tries to compensate by storing fat deep under the skin, so it's not that subcutaneous layer, it's actually called visceral fat, it's visceral flame. The fat is deep in the abdomen and you specifically get it here, so if you're like me and you feel very soft here and here where you've never been like that before or even here, there's a biological reason for that and it's because you that estrogen is missing and basically that visceral fat produces hormones, it also produces other things that are not healthy for you and that can cause heart disease and high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, etc., but I wanted you to know that because I want you understand that if you suddenly find yourself in that boat where you're gaining weight right here, there's a biological reason for it and I feel like once you understand that, then you can take a different approach and maybe combat it. in a potentially different way, maybe try replacing HRT or replacing the estrogen that you're losing, so for those of you who are struggling with weight gain here or who have a bit of a belly or a dog or whatever horrible name you want to call I'm going to show you 10 styling tips that will help you mask it, help you look slimmer, help you look your best and hopefully that will lift your spirits and make you feel better both inside and out, so enough rambling.
Start right, the number one tip to help you hide your belly is to wear tight-fitting t-shirts, there is definitely a trend when you don't feel your best, you feel like you are carrying a weight around your waist to go to the mumu. giant oversized tent area top area don't do that instinctively you want to do that but don't do it instead opt for tops that skim the body so let me give you an example here on the left you'll see I'm using a tent great size voluminous top it's a cute top I have it, it's in my closet but this is not going to do me any favors in terms of shaping me, on the other hand, here is a body-hugging white V-neck blouse that It gives me shape and that's really lovely and that's what you want to do but it still gives that forgiveness in the

tummy

area now depending on where your

tummy

is you may need a longer top it just depends on where However you carry your weight, the length of the top will depend on where your belly is, so the bottom of the belly will be a little different than the top of the belly.
The second tip is to look for strategic design details. You want tops that have a knot under the bust or a higher empire waist that highlights the underbust area, which is the smallest part of a woman's body and is obviously far from the problem area, or maybe it's a fake wrap on the front or maybe it's just strategically gathered or maybe it's a panel across the bust that you want to find. These strategic design details, so let me show you an example of what I'm talking about, so again let's go to our wavy oversized blouse on the left that has no shape, you know, it's pretty basic and then on the right a blouse of Eero who has this beautiful gathered panel under the bust.
This top may not be ideal if you have a small belly or a dog whatever you want to call it. It's not that long, so that could be a problem. You should always think about the length of the blouse depending. about where you carry that belly and what kind of belly you have, but a top like this will definitely mask that belly by highlighting the underbust or empire waist, you can notice that this Eero blouse also has beautiful wide shoulders, so let's talk about Tip number three, which is to strengthen your shoulders and what that does is it creates more width at the top and in contrast, it makes your waist look smaller and smaller and that's another way, it's more like an optical illusion.
I use this all. the moment because as you know, as I have talked ad nauseum, I am shaped like a rectangle, that means I don't have a very defined waist, if you are not sure what your body shape is, by the way, I made a whole video to help you . determine your body shape and I'll put a link to that below in the description box but I'm a rectangle and that's why I love wide or puffed shoulders because that will definitely make my waist look smaller so here's a before and after example of me wearing just you, you know, your basic white silk blouse, blouse with buttons on the left and then on the right, that same white blouse with that same frame, that little puffed shoulder that adds a little wide at the top just like your shoulders if you have a sleeve that is more voluminous and eye-catching that can also increase some width at the top and make your waist look smaller.
It can also draw attention to your sleeves and draw attention away from your belly, so it does double duty. so I want to show you an example of a before and after, so on the left here I have a basic Express black tea with a little knot on the front this tea is great the way it hides your belly. I just want to show you the difference between having a more dramatic sleeve and not having a dramatic sleeve, the Express tea is also amazing if you're busty because it's roomy in the bust area and then tapers towards the hips, so on the right I have this eye-catching top from Amanda to Richard with very puffy sleeves and they end just below the bus, so use the end of the sleeves is where I'll go.
I've talked about this before about these sleeves and right at that empire waist, which is a beautiful place to end up, it also has this really lovely neckline which I'll talk more about in a minute and it's a structured fabric, so any type of fabric Structured or weighted fabric will be more forgiving on the tummy area than something that is really lightweight. t-shirt that will be less forgiving, so fabric choice is another consideration. I wanted you to think about the top on the right, which also has this detail below the neckline that really catches the eye right there and then has some ruching towards the sides, it's so eye-catching.
Such an eye-catching top and top isn't something you're going to wear every day, but I wanted to give you a dramatic example so you could really see what that sleeve can do for your waist, so now let's get back to the neckline. What would be tip number five to use a well-thought-out neckline because, as you know, the neckline can be very long. I talked about this in my slimmer looking video. If you missed that one, that one is so good, I'll put a link below in the description box, but essentially if you have something that is high in the neck that is going to be less along the way less slimming then something that is more open V neck round neck boat neckline vertical neckline any type of open neckline, so here is an example on the left of a green high neck top, this one is from Zara, it's cute, very cute, but no It is elongated.
The one on the right, which is that white framed blouse again, has a beautiful V neckline and is more elongated, so remember to really think about that Clym choice in the neck when you really want to, you know, minimize the belly, draw the eye up and away from the tummy, it also lengthens the upper body, minimizes the bust if you have a large bust and the tummy does a lot of things that make you cleavage, so be strategic with your neckline. The sixth tip to hide that belly and help you look slimmer and longer is to look for a top with a rounded hem, so let's go back to that green high-neck top and the white framed blouse for that green high neckline.
The collared blouse is cute, I told you it's in my closet and I like it, but it's straight at the bottom so look at it compared to the frame which is slightly rounded at the bottom and what the rounding does is in actually lengthen the lower body. it gives you more room in your legs and makes you look slimmer overall, so that's another little detail you can think about when looking for that perfect tummy control top without wearing Spanx, by the way, without

shapewear

, keep in mind All of these tips don't include

shapewear

, so let's recap for a minute, so you've covered up a lot of hair, you want to make form-fitting tops that aren't oversized, you want strategic design details that can seal in your tummy, maybe highlighting under the bust or they will just mask that. belly you want to strengthen your shoulders to create the illusion of a smaller waist you want to make a more dramatic sleeve to draw attention away from your belly you want to think of that neckline as a way to minimize your bust and elongate your belly upper body and you want to look for a rounded hem to elongate your lower body and again keep you looking longer, slimmer and meaner, another quick and easy way to mask your tummy but still create a waist, let's get back to that big one. oversized tent top that I showed you before, so take that top 10 and then put a little jacket on top, the hem of the jacket hits a really lovely place, it gives me a waist, but the blouse underneath actually It forgives my belly as it covers and masks that belly and I showed you this tip in my look younger video, dress younger video which I will link to below.
I love that video, it's very good, but putting that jacket over the jacket again will do double duty and mask Tammy. It will also create waste, so think about that conversation. I know if you're in a sweltering climate right now you can't do this, but it's something to keep in mind for when the weather starts to cool down. Alittle tip number eight is something I've talked about before and it's just a really easy tool to have in your toolbox, you can pull it out in a pinch, it's like a shapewear, but not only can you use a pair of high waist jeans It really has a big impact on masking and also just sucking in the stomach, so it almost works like shapewear.
Remember to look at the fine details of the jeans you are ordering because they will tell you what the size is as high as nine inches. or higher and hopefully that will help suck in your tummy a little more and when it's a higher rise you won't have the top hanging over the jeans like you would if it were a lower rise, thinking about wearing high rise jeans. higher instead of lower pants. lifting your jeans as a way to combat that belly now some of you have a low belly and if you have a low belly you knew where the high waisted jeans were and you button them up it will be like hey look at my belly thinking about all those important tips . which I already shared with you: We're over high-waisted jeans because the last thing you want to do is highlight a dog or something.
Tip number nine is to use vertical stripes, rather than horizontal ones, which can make you look lighter. Using vertical stripes is very simple. This is something we probably all know but it is worth repeating so let me show you an example on the left. You will see that I'm wearing a horizontal striped t-shirt again there's nothing wrong with this t-shirt, but if I'm trying to mask a belly, this is not my best step forward, okay, we have a higher neckline, we have horizontal stripes that create that illusion. I'm wider on top and in the belly if you switch to vertical stripes.
It will be more forgiving and more elongated and will mask the tummy better, so if you want to wear stripes, I would go with the vertical stripe versus the horizontal stripe, but if you want to wear horizontal stripes, just throw a little blazer over it, this is that lioness. The jacket that I have featured many times is knitted, so you can also layer a jacket over the vertical stripes, which also looks very nice. This jacket, by the way, is from Nordstrom. I have talked about this point. Much of it is also a very informal fabric. Tip number 10 to help you mask your belly is to use a third layer and I have already talked about this one.
I feel like no, you guys have to do it over and over again, right, the problem is right. It's hot now and since a third layer is tricky here in Colorado, it's pretty cold at night and it's also pretty cold in the morning, so it's very realistic for us to wear a third layer if you're in South Texas, Florida. Southern California probably won't be the case, but put it back in the back of your mind for when the weather cools down a bit. I found a duster cardigan that is really stylish and paper thin, this one is exclusive to Walmart and me.
I really love this cardigan and if you are looking for a summer cardigan that won't cost you a lot of money this is an amazing option, it comes in a few other colors and also puts that third layer over it like a fur on the side so something like removing any muffin top you may have and it elongates and masks your tummy it does everything you need for your tummy, it's just something to think about, something to have in the back of your mind again, a tool to have in your toolbox I'm a firm believer and I accept, accept and love the body that you have, so please don't watch this video and think, oh my God, Aaron is saying that having a belly is a bad thing.
I'm NOT saying that at all. I created this video because, frankly, a lot of you have told me that you have tummy problems and I hear that quite often and I'm like, okay, let's get in there, let's dig in and do this and I also made a video. with my friend Kelly it was like 20 tips that Tiger taught me. I think it was called that a couple of years ago and that video is also about Tommy hiding his belly from him and you might want to watch it after this one, full of advice, just ignore it.
The fact that I'm on my toes I got so tired of hearing people complain about it that I actually started deleting their comments, but the reason I'm on my toes is because Kelly is really tall and couldn't wear my shoes on her home, so ignore the nitpicks and get the advice. An extra quick tip that I just wanted to share with you because I didn't actually talk about dresses at all, so if you're looking for the perfect tummy control dress, obviously. You don't want to go to the super tight zone because that's going to highlight a tummy like this rag-and-bone dress.
It is a sporty sleeveless dress with a racerback. I happen to like it a lot, but it definitely highlights a tummy. You also don't want to go back to the muumuu zone, oversized, billowy, huge, it will make you look bigger everywhere, like this Sancia dress. You want to look for something again that incorporates all those things that I talked about with the top that you know it has. that well thought out design detail that highlights the lower part of the bust, like this white dress, it also has a beautiful neckline, it also has sleeves, it has an A-shaped skirt that gives you a lot of tolerance in the abdomen area and also creates a shape more like an hourglass, so think about it. about dresses that look like this silhouette, that's your best option on the front of the dress if you liked this video and haven't subscribed to my channel yet.
