Jun 20, 2024
Hello, I'm Megan, welcome back to the channel my friend, in this video I have 10 Dollar Tree DIYs for you, some of the most attractive DIYs that you can use all year round. We have to get past 10 of these bad boys, so we're off to a good start. Now for this first idea, all you have to do is grab any old planter, drill three holes around the top of your planter. You can do this with a drill or a hot glue gun, pick up some of the putty from Dollar Tree in their tools section and I'm going to add a boat load all over the pot, paint a super thick coat.

I found it easier to use a paint brush, I just wet it while I'm going to pick up a bag of small pebbles and you're going to sprinkle that all over your pot and then after you spray it where it's totally covered, you really want to pack those pebbles in, don't forget take out the holes in the top that we made and then leave your planter alone overnight, let the caulk dry, then all you have to do is just hang your planter, so I'm using some wired jute from Dollar Tree , but you can use a regular chain or twine, it doesn't really matter, I really love how it turned out. one I love the texture, it takes a basic pot to the next level and I really love this technique so I did this DIY last summer.

Use a little heat. glue for an immediate fix and then you want to use some type of strong permanent glue like gel super glue or E6000. I prefer the gel super glue, it has a great hold on wood, ceramic, glass and this is the most beautiful tray for only $22.50, the best. It's food safe because we didn't paint it, we didn't put any chemicals on the top of the plate, but you can also use it to decorate all year round, use it for Christmas or use it for fall. The possibilities are listed with this. and I really think you see very high end things like this that will sell at Pottery Barn for $30 or $40.

Grab four wooden signs, don't worry about what's on the front of your wooden signs, just make sure Make sure they are the same size, but do not have to match in style or color, we will use a little more gel super glue, you will add a long strip or a small bead along the sides of your signs and I will glue the four signs together. Another reason I love gel super glue is because of the quick dry time. In just 10 or 15 minutes you are ready to go and then you can paint your sign any color your heart desires.
My heart desires black and I prefer spray. painting, but you can paint entirely by hand, pick up some thumbtacks and some faux leather tape, both available at the old DT, what you're going to do is cut two strips of tape the same size and fold them. and push the thumb tack through the ends, I'm not sure my words make sense, but I know you saw what I was doing, so you can just hammer the thumb tacks into the sides of your sign because our sign is now a tray and it will show. like this and you're going to repeat that step on the opposite side of our sign, which is now our tray, and then to reinforce your handles, you don't have to do this, but if you want this to be a work tray, you can pick up with the handles reinforce it with super glue gel super glue maybe E6000 I don't know I'm not a big girl E6000 I don't know how well it works on wood gel superg glue has worked very well for me and I love this sign, I think it

look

s great.
I don't think it looks like a DIY from Dollar Tree. Works great outdoors or indoors. You can place it wherever your heart desires. However, I really love how it looks and we move on to the next one, all you need to do is print out on regular printer paper your favorite photo and then grab one of the bamboo cutting boards from Dollar Tree. Trace your photo and then crop around the photo you are not cutting exactly where you traced. give yourself approximately half an inch around the perimeter of the photo. You can use a basic old glue stick.
Stick your photo to your board and then, how are we going to get the cleanest, most professional looking cut, it will look like you bought it. This way, simply use some sandpaper or even a nail file to slide back and forth and away from your photo. This will give you a perfect fit. You won't have to guess or replace the image exactly where you traced it. It just comes out perfect every step of the way. So to display your photo, you can do it however you want, but I really love these wooden easels from Dollar Tree.
They look great on wood, but since I painted my photo black where I'm putting it, you can paint it any color you want. I can leave the wood tone looks great either way and I don't know if you noticed that this is also another Dollar Tree tray that I made. By the way, I just put the handles in a different position. This technique is great on any of Dollar Tree's wood products. so you can get their little wooden cutouts, they come in different shapes, add some cork to the bottom and then add a photo to the front to make a little coaster.
You just want to seal your coaster with clear spray paint or some type of clear sealant. keep the water out for this next idea, you only need two woven bath mats and a ripper until recently I called it Reaper, you reap what you sew. I know it has to do with crops, but I was thinking this was called reaper done. It makes sense to me anyway use a ripper to remove the stitches on both sides of the rug for both rugs, then you will remove the tassel knots from both rugs once again on both sides use a full bottle of hot glue extremely high heat to hot glue the sides of your rugs together.
I have done this many times. I use a high temperature hot glue gun. Basic old hot glue sticks. I even used the generic brand Walmart. This works well, just be sure to let it warm up. cold glue all the way, you can even throw these pillows in because we are making a pillow in the washer on cold and we will dry it on low or no heat, then you are going to tie the tassels on one side of the pillow so we are not hot gluing them shorter ends, we are just tying the tassel back and if you want to stuff your pillow you can use old t-shirts, old pillows, old stuffed animals or a great option is Dollar General which sells

cheap

pillows at a great price and a pillow Val Value will be filled with handmade cushions after filling the pillow, simply tie the tassels on the opposite end of the pillow.
I don't know how many times I'm going to say pillow in this video, but I love it. The way this pillow works, it would be a great indoor pillow, but they are perfect for outdoors. In fact, I have made many Dollar Tree outdoor pillows with their bath mats because they dry so well and hold up well. I have some that I made four years ago. It makes them getting strong and once again you can wash them which is great so yeah and they're hot glued too. For the next idea, just grab a wooden shaped rectangle and some wooden beads, some wood glue or my favorite gel. super glue, four little touches in the corners, add your beads, that's it my friend, here's a really cool Riser, simple but easy and impactful, you know, use it with your salt and pepper or with your soap and lotion.
I just think it elevates it. like keeping things up off the counter, it's easier to clean and especially if water gets under it, pick up a cork sheet, its sticky cork sheet, it's like a cork sheet, it's sticky on one side, then just take a little of recycled cardboard paper, the cardboard that is To not use just one, I used a box of gold cookies without grams and traced some type of circle. I used the top of a candle and what you're going to do is just cover the adhesive or the sticky side. from the cork, take a little Dollar Tree rope hot glue around your circle until you get to the end of the middle, cut it out, make sure it's tight, hot glued, you don't want any gaps between them and then cut it out and we're done .
Buy some really nice coasters. You can make two to four coasters depending on how big you make them. You can also make them with the white nautical rope once again. These are nice coasters and work great. I made mine extra large for large cups. Big glasses you could. He even goes crazy and mixes the brown and white rope. I didn't try it, but I'd bet a

dollar

or two that it would look just as good for the next idea. You're going to need two wooden

dollar

tree

signs once again. Don't worry about what's printed or painted on the front, just make sure they're the same size.
Use some wood glue or some MAF gel glue to glue the two signs together and then paint the two signs. You can spray paint them or hand paint them. This day it was raining, so I was forced to paint by hand. Last time I was at Dollar Tree I saw these storage containers, they're metal, they're tin. I picked them up and bought them because I thought they were magnetic which would be perfect for what I needed at the time they didn't work for that don't worry they will work great for this DIY just use a little gel super glue or E6000 to glue the containers up to the two signs and we have a very nice little candle holder so you can throw the candles in there once again, these containers are metal, they look very pretty.
I think this would be nice. Outdoors, on a patio, on a small coffee table or on a table. Outdoors, or take it up a notch and Dollar Tree will do it. sell these glass vffs and you get four for .25 if you want to put this inside or just want more protection or maybe you want to use larger candles and get that glass reflective look. I'm going to go back and forth on whether I want to paint the metal cans black as well or and I was also thinking that maybe I could paint them gold. I don't know, I could try painting them black first and if I don't like it, I'll go back and paint them gold.
I'm not a big silver girl when it comes to everyday decor, so I don't know what you think if I should keep them black or paint them black or paint them gold. Let me know what you're thinking for this next idea, grab one of Dollar Tree's Fake Wooden Cutting Boards and then this is a free man-made printable IM with kitchen measurements. Every time I make a printable I share it with you for free and it is linked in the description and we just use a glue stick to attach our paper. As we did with our photo, the only difference is that this cutting board was not totally smooth, so I just used a pencil to get the bubbles out, so there is a little trick for you, but everything else is the same.
I just used sandpaper, sanded it and it turned out great. I love this because it's functional because I never cook as much as I don't remember measurement conversions, but it's also decorative. Matches your functional decor. My favorite type of decoration for this last idea, we have a zero waste DIY. for your candles almost burnt, so any candle you like and have on hand is almost too burnt to burn, but still smells something, melt it on low to medium heat for about 25 to 35 minutes, you can mix the waxes. If you want and are going to use some of Dollar Tree's baking molds or some of their ice cube trays to make new wax melts yourself now, Dollar Tree will be selling ice cube molds and trays all year round for different seasons, they even have like every day. like the square and round ones, I bought them for Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day and I love them because I think hearts can be used all year round, you can also turn them into gifts, it's a great way to use that wax smell that you love. you don't want to throw it away, I hate wasting it and then you can also save the candle jar.
I do it anyway for swabs. I just clean it or I'll use it to make new candles anyway if you're still here. You are the real MVP. Thank you all so much for watching. I think my next video might be some backyard DIYs. I'm not too sure, but I'll see them next time.
