You have this huge dresser on your right, right when you walk in, it almost sticks out a little. on the door frame the bed is also under the window and I feel like the headboard right now is blocking all that light like two years ago my sister doesn't like any colors which will be a challenge because you guys they know. color is my thing I love filling spaces with color we are like opposite poles in that way we have very different styles the only color that is here right now is the brown color of the jute rug that I am going to keep and I think she has like a salt lamp in the corner, that's all, that's all I have to work with.

I showed you the ones before, but I want to give you an update, this is what the room looks like now, my mom while she was here painted the entire room white, my dad filled the cracks that were in the walls and what a difference, that beige color It was nice, but I've been on the wall for years and I just wanted something clean and fresh because that's my sister's aesthetic.

She just likes clean things. This white is a little creamy, it's not entirely off-white, but it definitely has some great undertones. so I'm going to start repositioning all the furniture, the first thing I'm going to move is this little bookshelf that's here, it's like in the middle of this niche and, in fact, I bought my sister a much more efficient storage solution and condensed. so I'm getting rid of that and I'm thinking that this niche will become her dresser, where she has this huge TV that used to be mine and I think she'll look a lot better hidden in this niche, okay? let's move the dresser, it already looks much better, look how much free space there is here just when you walk in and that dresser fits perfectly in that niche, so now I'm going to turn her bed so that she's not under my bed window.

It was under the window when this was my room but it didn't have a headboard so it wasn't like invading the window and I just don't know I just don't think it's working so I'm going to turn the bed so you walk on the bed it's there and then it's in front of the dresser and now I'm going to move that desk out of the way yeah, I think it feels a lot better just ignore all the stuff, but the dresser there, the desk there, this is going to be a place for a storage unit, so now I'm going to bring that giant TV into the room and put it on top of the dresser. disclaimer, I know it won't look very pretty, but the reality is that my sister watches TV from bed.

So she spends a lot of time here and that seems a lot better than being against the other wall where it was, it's very well hidden so we'll put it there and then add a lot of art in other places in the room so it's not like the focal point of the room, okay, Elena and I just loaded up the large storage unit from Ikea, so my original plan was for this area to be like a vanity area. She has a desk downstairs, so she's going to need a desk here, which is great, but she has a lot of jewelry and she likes makeup and stuff, so I bought her this unit so she could store all that stuff that was on that little shelf. the one we got rid of and where I could keep them.

Makeup too, so let's build the unit, set it up, set up the mirror and see how it looks. Elena is going to finish building this cabinet, but for now I'm going to work on hanging a gallery wall behind my sister's bed, so originally I wanted to paint half a wall gray, but my sister really likes any color, just He wants it in black and white, super simple, so I thought I'd use all this art he has. A fun trick that Danny Berger taught me this when you hang something with two screws and you want to make sure you get the exact right distance between them, just take some painter's tape, stick it over the holes and then just put a dot where the screw is . it will sit right at the bottom and then all you need to do is take that piece of tape and place it where the picture or in this case the mirror will go on the wall and that's how you'll know exactly where the screws are. going is great now that this vanity area is complete and my sister has an area where she can get ready every day.
