May 30, 2021
Hello guys, welcome back. I'm Tatiana. In today's video, I'm going to share with you a 15-

step

formula

for

success

with Amazon FBA so you know I've been selling on Amazon for several years and have now sold several. The products there built my brand on Amazon, outside of Amazon's transition to store 5, when we talk about that a little later, so everything I'm going to share with you is going to come directly from my personal experience in this business, so I'm going to use my whiteboard to illustrate things to you. I'm a visual learner, it might help some of you and it might be a little bit longer video so just a heads up, I'll try to move along as quickly as I can.
your 15 step formula to success with amazon fba
I may talk a little quick about these points and if you want a more detailed explanation on certain things, I'll link resources in the description box. Okay, let's start with the Amazon FBA roadmap and number one. are going to open a seller central account, so many of you already have Amazon accounts because you are buyers on Amazon,

your

customers, and a seller central account is simply an account for people who sell on Amazon, so I want you to they do it. open this as soon as possible, don't delay because these days Amazon tends to take a little longer to approve requests and so the sooner you can start setting up that account the better now there are two different accounts you can set up.

your 15 step formula to success with amazon fba...

There is an individual account and a professional account at this time, you don't need to worry about setting up a professional account because it comes with a fee of $39.99 per month, the individual account is free and at any time you can upgrade to the professional account whenever you need advance. Number two is market research. Often when people hear about Amazon FBA, they think about a product that they use regularly and they get excited because they want to sell that product on Amazon and build their brand around that product, and the problem with that is. That just because you love a product just because you like using it doesn't mean Amazon customers loved it too and the same if you find a product that sells well at Walmart at retail or if you see a product that sells well on eBay It doesn't necessarily mean that that particular product is going to sell well on Amazon, so you should do market research because you're going to sell on Amazon, you're not going to sell on Walmart or eBay.
your 15 step formula to success with amazon fba
You will be a child of Amazon, so you want to see what people are already buying, you want to find a product that is already in demand because if you are going to sell any random product and you don't know if there is demand on Amazon. then it's very difficult for you to get those sales and recover

your

investment, so do some market research, research the product, decide to create a product opportunity list with viable product options that you could potentially sell on Amazon. Okay, once you've done that, now you're going to Choose Your Product Right, so you need to choose a product.
your 15 step formula to success with amazon fba
After you've done your research, maybe you've made a list of ten product opportunities that you'd like to move forward with and narrowed that list down to maybe two of your top ones. three and then you've narrowed it down even further to a single product that you're going to sell on Amazon. You want to start with a single product. Once you have chosen a product, you now have to find a supplier. Find a supplier now. Do you want to source locally, maybe in North America or internationally, maybe in China, that's up to you and will depend on the type of product you choose, if you choose a product that you know you might have health issues with, maybe a product like a supplement or a topical product that you definitely want to get in the country you would choose to sell it in, if you are going to get a product that is like a plastic bottle it doesn't really matter where you get it from just make sure it is BPA free and that is where you decide about a supplier.
Please have another video if you want to learn more about how to make a decision between sourcing locally or sourcing internationally, the pros and cons of each. I'll link it in the description box. For you, okay, so number four is that you will get samples from your suppliers, so when you contact suppliers, you will not only contact one supplier, but we will contact multiple suppliers. My recommendation is to get to at least ten and from there you'll narrow down your list of suppliers the same way you narrow down your list of product opportunities and you want to get to maybe three of the best suppliers, the people who have the best communication. about who really wanted your business, maybe they have the best prices and from there you will order a sample and the reason is you need to see what the product looks like, you know you need a sample. of them and I want to clarify if you don't realize that with Amazon FBA you know that we are in the business of white label products or private label products and maybe you have heard of this term before we are not in the business of inventing something new, we are not in the business of pioneering anything, we simply look for products that already sell well and we look for manufacturers who are already making those products and then we simply ask them to put our brand names on the product.
More on this to come, so get samples from suppliers at least three different samples from three unique suppliers. Now I have a little extra advice for you and this is something that a lot of times people don't do, it's what I want. you should buy your competitors' products so that on Amazon you know that maybe you have your top three competitors. I want you to buy all of your products, well, one of your products from each competitor because you know on Amazon that they are the best sellers because of that. particular product, that is an indication that customers liked that product, customers are happy with the product, you can see that they have positive reviews, so when you receive samples from your suppliers, you now have a product that you can go with.
Compare those samples and that will help you. you determine which of those samples are the best quality, the highest quality because at the end of the day with this business you need to look for the highest quality product, you strive to sell the highest quality product on Amazon because if you have a poor quality product, there is simply no way you can build a product and from that you will get negative reviews and probably negative seller metrics and Amazon might even tell you to remove that item from their warehouses, so you find the best product. Quality is the most important thing, number 5 is.
I want you to now ask yourself how can I improve this product. Well, this is really important because if you know, you decide that you want to sell a spatula on Amazon and you see your competitor's spatula and you find a supplier that is producing the exact same spatula and you just say, "Okay, I'm going to get that spatula and I'll put it on Amazon and try to make sales. You're just not going to be

success

ful with that." because you are literally selling the same product as everyone else and so you need to offer something refreshing, something new, you need to add more value to the market and what you can ask yourself is how can I improve the product and the ways in which you can determine how you can improve the product again.
You don't just want to do what you think could be improved because many times we fool ourselves into thinking we know everything. The best place to ask is that they read your clients and I know. You don't have any customers right now, but you can look at your competitors read their reviews read 5 star reviews read one star reviews read 2 star reviews see what people are complaining about maybe it's because you know there's a mouthpiece If something keeps dropping, maybe it's that the products are too small, maybe it's that the product falls apart after six weeks, maybe it's that it's only available in a certain size, find out what people aren't happy with and then , when you see that this is something that is repeated quite frequently.
You know that many people have complained about the same problem. Then you can say, Well, now I know that this is something that I could do and improve the product and therefore I'm not just selling the same product. everyone else, I have improved. I'm selling an improved and improved version of that product, so I want you to ask yourself this and once you determine what would be the highest leverage things that you can improve about the product without it costing you too much. a lot because if you are making big modifications, we don't want that either, we want small incremental changes because if you are going to completely change the product, then that is difficult because now you put yourself at risk, the idea of Amazon FBA is to reduce your risk of seeing what that is already sold on Amazon, see what is already working and not try to be the pioneer, so if you are going to completely change the product, you don't know if customers will like it, that you always want to see other people saying something similar with such small changes and then you want to communicate that to the suppliers, communicate with the suppliers, so now you have three suppliers, you haven't determined your number one supplier yet and you want to communicate those things that maybe you want to change, maybe it's something small maybe it's just adding an extra item maybe it's just that you know how to change the way it's shaped maybe it's something very, very small but you want to communicate it because some suppliers will be willing to work with you, some won't and some will charge you too much to those modifications and some will not and that will help you determine who is the number one supplier so number six now you have to choose your supplier so determine your supplier, choose a supplier and you will know that you have it.
We are in communication with two other suppliers. I don't want you to just rule them out because those will be your backup providers in case something happens with this provider, then you have backup providers that you can contact and go to. If you need it, when you choose this supplier, you will now place your initial order and I don't want you to pay more than a 30% deposit. We'll talk about this a little more, but here's why. This is because you know we want to make sure that you have leverage with that supplier and that a 30% deposit is standard and if they feel that you are someone new to this business, they might ask you for a 50% deposit, even a deposit 100 percent, but I want you to know and have confidence that 30% is standard so you can be sure to communicate that with them once you've decided on your supplier and placed your order. send them your logo and packaging so you can get a logo made on Fiverr or upwork.com and if you want to have custom packaging that's up to you, I personally don't think it's a necessary expense right now when you're placing your first order but a lot of people do custom packaging but then you can create the graphics and the design and then send it to your supplier once you've done that they will be preparing your order and it can usually take 30 days.
It takes them about 20 to 30 days to complete manufacturing so this is a good time, it's time for you to work on your pre-release and this is another thing that a lot of people do. I'm going to underline some bread because A lot of people skip pre-launch, they get caught up in life and they say, you know what I'm waiting for my supplier to make my products. I can do other things, but this is the time to be working on your pre-launch because your pre-launch is what is going to ensure that when you launch that product it is a success and you get sales immediately and that is important to Amazon's algorithm, so what does it include the pre-release?
Well one thing I would recommend is creating a customer avatar maybe you've heard of this before but you can Google it. If you Google it, you can get some templates with which you can start to complete the idea of creating a customer avatar that will help you have clarity in your messages. and your marketing and right now maybe you don't really know who you're talking to when you're trying to talk about your Prada or market your product or create content for social media, maybe you feel lost because you don't really know what kind of content to create, but when you are clear in your customer avatar you are talking to one person and by talking to this person you are talking to your entire ideal audience, so you can create the customer avatar by pulling information from your competitors' reviews trying to find out who they are those people, you know if they're men, they're women, what age group you know, what their goals in life are, what their struggles are, you want to be very, very specific, because the more specific you are, the easier it will be for you to do marketing and we'll talk about marketing at the end of this video, so to create your customer avatar, now this is a big one, you need to create a lead magnet.
This is like a marketing term, but essentially it is your goal. is to create an email list or maybe a messenger, less ideally an email list and the reason is that most people don't buy a product the first time they see it, so if I share it with you, already they know this. a product, a nail product or something that you probably won't buy the first time you hear about it, most people need to be marketed to it several timesbefore making the decision to buy the product, and so when it is on Amazon. ysomeone clicks on your ad once you know the chances of them buying are somewhat low, so your goal is to create a lead magnet so you can get people to sign up for your mailing list, your email list. email, and from there you can send them emails on a regular basis, you can develop a relationship with them and you can market your products or services to them multiple times and that is what will eventually lead to a purchase.
The same goes for a Facebook Messenger list, so a lead is generated, how do you collect it? Emailing people is offering them something of value, something you can give them, maybe online instantly, like an ebook, a guide, a template, maybe you, whatever, you just discover something, you have to determine again who, what is your niche, what is your customer avatar, what is something that people would want you to know, if you sell dog toys, what is something of value that you can give them for free in exchange for their email, then you also want work on your social networks and much more. of people also skip social media and you don't have to, you know you don't need 10,000 followers to be successful on Amazon, you know you only need a small social media presence and you know it's maybe 300 people you know. 300 followers 300 people within your industry or sorry, 300 people within your niche who would be interested in purchasing your product when you launch it, so I recommend that you know that you should try to have between 3 and 500 people that you can include in your email list or on your social networks that are specific people and will help you when you launch your product, so now your supplier sends you an email and tells you that your orders are ready.
Now we can ship it for you. What is the address you say? Wait wait wait. I will have a third party inspection agency visit your warehouse and they will inspect the products, so number nine is the third party inspection agency and if you guys don't know what that is, I have a separate video on that. and I will link it in the description box for you, detailing what this service is and why it is necessary, and I will just briefly tell you that when you place an order for the first time with a new supplier, you still have to develop a relationship with them , so you need to have someone, a third party that you pay, to inspect the products and they can approve the supplier or fail them and if they fail them, this is where your 30% deposit comes in. useful because now you have leverage.
I've seen it with people who you know haven't taken a training program and are therefore new to the business and the provider tells them we need you to pay the full balance up front and they pay 100%. of the balance, then they hire an inspection agency and the supplier does not pass the inspection, but then they have no influence over the supplier, they cannot say that hey, I have 70% of the balance and I am not going to pay you until I replace the products or if they refund me the products or if they fix the products if there are some details that they need to fix and then they end up losing on that order because again they have no influence, so if they have passed, that's great. no problem, if they fail, then you can say: "Well, I have a 70% balance that I am not willing to pay you until you respect and fix these products, so after the third party inspection agency, now it will go back to your account Amazon Seller Central and you're going to create a listing for your product a listing is what people see you know when you're shopping on Amazon and you click on the photo it's a product listing and right now you don't have it. you know how to do something special with your listing, you're going to have to really improve it, just a girafft listing, you know a rough listing and the reason we want to do that is because the next

step

is to create an inbound shipping order a lot of times people ask me, Tatiana, my supplier, how do I know which Amazon warehouse is to ship my products?
What address do I give my supplier to? You don't know until you create an inbound shipping order and you will do it in your Amazon seller central and that is because Amazon doesn't know which warehouse they want you to send the products to until you tell them what product you are selling, how many quantities you have and then they will give you an address which you then give to your supplier and then you will have to send your products to Amazon . Now you have a few different options with which you can ship bison by sea by boat or by air.
I have another video if you want to debate which one. It's better, I will link it in the description box. I generally recommend it if you are starting to ship by air simply because it is faster, it is easier, it is less complicated, although it is more expensive and depends on circumstances like now with coronavirus shipping. Air is very expensive so it is better to ship by boat, so it will depend on that. I recommend hiring a freight forwarder if you decide to ship by sea. I will link another video about freight forwarders in the description box below for you, basically making all the shipping easy for you so you don't have to worry about bonds and customs and all the documentation you need to know how to ship a product from one country to another , so while your product is shipped it can take anywhere from a week to two months depending on your shipping method, it will create an A+ Amazon listing, which is essentially an amazing Amazon listing and I know my writing is terrible.
I am aware of this, so I create an A+ Amazon listing. listing, so you've already created a draft elevator listing, at this point you want to go back and you want to improve that listing, you want to make sure you have great images, great text, great copy all of that and then your products get to Amazon and now you're going to launch your product, so you did the pre-launch, now you're going to work on the launch and because you did the pre-launch when you launched this product and it launched on Amazon, you should have instant sales, you know instantly because now you have a list, you have followers on social media, you can post it on Instagram and you can let people know.
Hello, we have just launched this product. I know you have a dog. I know you could have it. We're interested in it and we have a really special special launch price that we have right now and within a week it will go up, you know, the price will go up eighty percent or whatever, so we would love that. try it and here is the link and from there you should get instant sales if you prelaunched correctly, but we also want to activate oh this is getting really complicated. PPC PPC stands for pay per click advertising when you are first launching your product on Amazon, it is really valuable for you to activate your Amazon PPC.
I mean, the reason is that when you first launch your product, it may be on page 15 in Amazon search and as a customer, you may know how many pages will you go through before making a purchase? I really don't have patience. I check page 1 and usually buy the product I'm looking for on page 1, maybe the mats on page 2, but there's no way. I'm going to scroll through 15 pages and then I'm going to choose a product on page 15 and some people do that, but very few, and that's why PPC is useful because you pay Amazon and you can display your product listing on the first page. from Amazon and that is really valuable because if you are launching it and you have a special price, which means that you will try to be cheaper than your main competitors, then the people who are on Amazon and are in the market to buy this product, I could say which yeah, I mean this other guy has 500 views, this one has no reviews, but you know this one is cheaper so I have a reason to buy it and PPC will become one of your best friends.
There is automatic and manual. campaigns, you can start with automatic ones, but when you learn how to do keyword research, you will definitely do those manual campaigns, okay, and number 50, and what's the latest you know, what's the latest, the most important thing is to continue marketing your product. When you become an Amazon seller and you don't just sell products on Amazon, you actually have to become a marketer and I've talked about this a lot, you may have the best product, the best service, the highest quality, you know that will add. value to people's lives, it will serve them, they will enjoy it, but if you don't know how to market that product, how are they going to have the opportunity to buy your product?
So you have to be very good at figuring it out. different ways to present your product in front of people's eyes and that is why marketing is a continuous thing because things change so fast that there are always new marketing techniques and strategies so this is a continuous work on how you can market your product and this is like In the beginning, okay, this is where you really have to be good at it and there are many ways to market and you don't have to do them all. That's the nice thing is you don't have to do them all, just pick one or two.
Really good things for me. I decided that social media and YouTube were the way I wanted to market my product. It was the most affordable thing I could do and I just stuck with it. You know, I could have also done paid advertising and a lot of other things. but I just made them because otherwise it gets overwhelming but it's a continuous process and a lot of people put their product on Amazon and leave it and just hope that those sales keep growing every month but unless you choose a product really Product high demand with low competition, then you can't really expect that you have to put in the effort and if you don't want to do it then you can hire someone else to do it, but it has to be done so that these are the 15 steps, guys, and as you can see , the process is simple, you know, you understand this, you know, I don't know, like a 20 minute video, a 25 minute video, the process is simple, but it's in each one of these. steps there are so many details in each of these steps that you really have to understand and you have to learn and that's where it gets complicated that's where people give up and then, for example, you know market research well, how do you do the market research?
How do you determine if a product is a viable opportunity? How do you know? There are certain things you should keep in mind. Certain criteria. Is there a certain price range you should look for to be profitable. In fact, what is it? What is a good profit margin? 25% 35% 15% So, there are many questions about market research. How to choose a product. Because, really, this is where most people get obsessed. It's actually about choosing a product that most people don't. They choose a product, a lot of people who start this business understand this, but they get so obsessed with choosing the product because they fall into analysis paralysis and that's the problem when you don't take a course or training because you really have to.
Trust yourself that you're choosing the right product and people don't have confidence in you or your ability to make that decision, so when you have a set of criteria, you have a

formula

, you know. you know exactly what to look for and when you find that product it is very obvious and the decision is very obvious and then you can move forward with the business, but most people don't do it because they are too afraid to move forward. with a product that they're not really sure about and at the end of the day, I just recommend that you choose a product because all of this, if you go from here to here, this experience will be much more valuable. that the money that you will make with that first product because you will be able to replicate it, it is a process that must be replicated and you can do it with your second product, your third product and each time you get better and better as you gain more experience, I mean, okay, let's see What else is there to find a supplier, for example how to know who is a good supplier and who is not.
There are certain things you should look for. How can I improve this product? know what to improve in the product how about the logo and the packaging what what should I put in my love my packaging should have certain labels there are certain things that I should put what kind of barcodes I need do you know how I should put my brand name on my packaging all those details, how about creating a list? Well, how do I know how to create an amazing listing? You know your listing is very important, guys, because especially your top images on Amazon, your Amazon images are equivalent to what you package. is retailing so you need to have very high quality images and you need to know what they look like you know you need to have text on your images you need to make sure you have lifestyle images depending on your product you want to make sure you occupies all the space, you don't want to have any blank space, there's a lot of detail and that's what I'm saying, guys like yeah, you can do this on your own and you know, I commend you if you do it, but in my time working on this business, I have so many people come to me and say you know what I'm trying to do at Amazon FBA and I got old and lost money because I didn't really know what I was doing and then they get a course andThey wish they had bought a course earlier so they didn't have to waste time and money, so I think taking a course is the best way to do it because they give you a step-by-step process and tell you okay, now here's what. what you do and now this is what you do and from time to time today and you have homework and guidelines and that gives you a lot of peace of mind because there are no questions in your head, if you make sure you find a reputable course and it is a proven course and a proven process, then you simply have the confidence to move forward. with the business and making those big decisions, so I highly recommend that if you want to start this business, invest in a course.
There are people who can definitely do it without a course. I interviewed one person who did it without a course on this topic. Columbia channel, but they are very few, it is very rare, so for the most part, most people need that extra guidance that they need to have the sacred, so I will recommend two courses, ASM and MT SH, that they are not going to enter. details, you can click on the videos in the description box below if you want to know more about my course recommendations, everything I talked about here, any resources I have, I will also link them in the description box for you and if they want to write.
If you want to dig a little deeper into Amazon, but haven't delved into it yet, then I have a free training. I think it's seven parts, it's a nine part video training where it basically gives you more details on these certain steps and you can access that by going to tatiana james comm slash FBA so I hope this video was helpful to you. I'll link all the links in the description, but if you have questions, ask me in the comments section below, especially when posting a video for the first time. I am very active in the comments section if you have questions about Amazon Seller Central FBA and anything else apart from that, thanks for watching, I hope it was helpful and I will see you in my next video by
