of two who never missed a day at work, so when she didn't show up for work one day and didn't answer any calls friends and family he immediately became concerned. Christine lived in Arizona and had a tumultuous relationship with Robert. Her

boyfriend

and the father of her

young

est daughter before she disappeared. Christine had plans to break up with Robert and obtain a protection

order

against her. she was able to do that. Christine disappeared on May 11, 2017, and suspicion immediately turned to Robert.

He began selling some of Christine's personal belongings, including her car, and police found evidence of blood at her home. He also purchased several mattress covers and was reportedly seen near a garbage facility. At the time she went missing, investigators searched a local dump for 12 weeks, but came up empty. His body has not yet been found. Police arrested and charged Robert in June 2017 after finding what appeared to be evidence of foul play inside his Phoenix residence in April 2019. A jury convicted him of second-degree murder but acquitted him of first-degree murder in June 2019 a judge sentenced him to 25 years in prison let's take a look at the sad story of a loving

mother would honestly give the shirt she was wearing in the middle of winter to anyone, so when she showed up, Christine Mustafa quit her job and her precious daughters, everyone feared the worst that she wouldn't. it was Christine, she wouldn't have done that, the cops say she didn't, this is officially a homicide investigation and now a desperate search is underway to find Christine's mother of two parents who had immigrated to the US from Jordan and Before long, Christine was living the American dream. She bought a house on her own as a single mother.

The family friend. Aaron Nethery says that when Christine gave birth last year, no one worried that she would be able to juggle two daughters in a full-time career. Out of all her employer she had worked there for 11 years and never missed a day but one day in May the new mum literally fell off the grid she was nowhere to be found this was unusual after a couple hours and I still know that Christine called her family. Phoenix police are going to do a welfare check on her house. They are at the entrance. Christine's car, but no one answered the door.

That's when the cops broke in. She left her passport, her purse, her cell phone, her car, her clothes, her children, it was very clear that something was very very very when the police searched the house Christine's living

appeared and the father of her new baby Robert Interval he had moved in with christine shortly after she bought her house he decided a roommate would really help me pay these bills he put an ad on craigslist for a roommate and the handsome ex-model responded now the roommate-turned-in-lover he was answering questions from cops who asked him where Christine is Robert told cops his car had a flat tire that morning so he walked to work a detail that would later provide a key lead in the investigation Aaron nethery knew a Robert before he moved in with Christine, she says he could be quite Charming, very friendly, outgoing, helpful with flaws, Christine was pregnant with Robert's baby Rosie, according to friends Robert had become increasingly controlling, he even convinced Christine to move near him. family left Arizona Robert convinced her to move to Ohio for a fresh start near her sister but Christine's family wondered if there was a different reason they had seen a different side of Robert they felt it was more of a move to separate her from her family and isolating her if that was Robert's goal didn't work out and the family's concerns were real while he seemed like a doting dad Christina's friends claim he could be a Jekyll and Hyde Robert could go from being very happy and joking and was Like boom, a light switch went off and all of a sudden it went dark and angry.

Aaron says that living in Ohio with his new baby actually motivated Christine to finally want to go out. and what he did next may have put the young mother in grave danger. Rebecca Matthews will never forget the last text message she sent to her best friend Christine. I texted her at the time and I said, baby, everything is fine. Becca didn't expect to respond. I already knew everything wasn't right Christine never missed a day of work and then suddenly she doesn't show up on May 11 Christine Mustafa disappeared and her friends say that's what the mother of two was about to do that very day what could have triggered her disappearance, she was also going to get a lifetime

, she was so close, she was so close to getting out, she never made it from the moment the police came to her house.

Robert's story just didn't fit, he claimed he had a flat tire and walked to work that morning, but his work was miles across town. There's no way you can walk, let alone in that heat, and when the cops checked the car, there weren't any flat tires. lots of Christine's things for sale I was flabbergasted Robert had put Christine's car up for sale his landscaping truck was up for sale there were items from the house for sale suspicious investigators came back the next day and found some finds surprising Robert answered the door with a truck loaded gun and the baby cops took the gun out of Robert's pocket and after seeing his daughter's bedroom, Child Services took her out of the house inside.

It was a disturbing clue, it was very evident that spray bleach had been used. He raised the police antenna even higher. He tells the police that a day earlier he had no choice but to deep clean the baby's room with bleach. He made up an excuse about the baby having bedbugs in his room, but DCS investigators didn't buy it and found out. so many red flags of the relationship, including a terrible account told by one of Christine's sisters to our Phoenix affiliate, he literally pulled her by the hair, pushed her out of the car, no shoes, bag, lips, phone, less, I ran helplessly down the street asking for hope. now Christine was missing and Robert was the main person on the police radar.

Her sister Gia flew to Arizona to be with her brother, but it turned out to be a very short visit. It was too much for her. Robert's sister flew back to Ohio because she couldn't. Not handling what Gia couldn't handle believing her brother had killed Christine That's exactly what she suspected after a chilling conversation with Robert himself Gia says the former model admitted she started a big fight with Christine after she threatened to leave him, she claims he then repeatedly said I've taken it too far and seen things I can't unsee and what that means is too scary to comprehend whatever it meant was enough for the cops obtained another search warrant this time they found what is believed to be physical evidence of foul play inside the couple's home.

We understand there is blood in both the baby's room and her room. Police say a phone was found in the bathroom between the toilet and the bathtub. Becca can't bear to think. about what that could mean maybe she went to the bathroom for help and he broke in and i think she was trying to call for help and he made it impossible even though the police found blood and other evidence they still didn't have a that's when Hundreds of volunteers joined the Mustafa family to search, sometimes 10 people would show up, sometimes 30 or 40 people would show up, but this is all in triple-digit heat in the middle of the Arizona summer from our Phoenix affiliate says finding a the mother of two became a citywide effort they were friends neighbors coworkers even those who didn't know her want to know where christine is what happened to her but becca says there was one person who didn't seem concerned about finding christine her boyfriend Robert Robert was nowhere to be found.

Weeks of searches came up empty, but on the one-month anniversary of Christine's disappearance, cops felt they had enough evidence to arrest Robert and charge him with his murder. The cops suspect that Robert then dumped her body in a nearby dumpster that we have. the area we think she's pretty well identified in, although he's hopeful Christine can be found, Officer Alan Fole admits there are no guarantees, though it's our best hope to find Christine. We also tell the family not to get their hopes up because this is a difficult task unfortunately Christine's disappearance is not the first tragedy to hit the Mustafa family she is the third child that one of Christine's sisters has lost several years ago she was murdered in december another of her sisters died of cancer and to add to this family heartbreak they are unable to gain custody of christine's daughter one of her strongest living ties to christine with her father robert behind bars the girl remains in protective custody Robert has parental rights Christine is not here so she is considered to have abandoned the child Christine's sisters go and see the baby as often as the mustafas are allowed they want the sister to be awarded full custody Christine's twin who is now also raising Christine's teenage daughter Robert wants her to go with her sister right now the law is on her side but Aaron says Christine's family will Never stop fighting for custody or for justice because it is what Christine herself asked them to do.

Christine told her sisters that if I ever get lost, go find my baby, find Rob and make my baby fight for her, don't let this continue.
