May 03, 2020

I have to see this let's move from the Ferrari to this vehicle and let's begin welcome back to the magician's shop this is the car and the scenario that I knew when I came here and saw what was happening you need to see This guy is a car magician, Fanny, he brought this car from a distance and when I reveal to you why you're going to say oh, I totally understand why he brought it from a distance.

ls400

and a lot of people have it in the comments section wanted to see one of these. The reason this vehicle is here, many of you made comments in the comments section that my prices are high after today, when we see this you will realize that they are not. This is from a local Lexus dealership where this customer lives. the estimate they gave Leake that he had a power steering leak, check it out, five thousand two hundred six dollars and three cents, they said the steering rack is leaking, the front brakes need to be fixed and a bunch of others more problems.

It's more than this whole car is worth, they have vandalized your vehicle, let's take a look at this car, let's take a look at it, you guys will be very surprised and what we found based on what you found and what I actually found, let's compare the two, let's lift this vehicle up in the air and take a look when I first lifted this vehicle I was expecting to see drops of fluid and based on what I saw in that estimate the repair estimate was good I thought it probably needs a rack but come on. Confirm that we have the steering rack here and as we can see, it is not soaked with fluid.

One of the ways I check a steering rack to see if it is actually defective, other than road testing, is to remove the bellows or boots. and actually look inside let's go ahead and do that and according to the estimate we saw in the dealership estimate these things should be full of liquid look guys dry as a bone look inside they're dry let's look at the other side oh look dry like a bone, there is no fluid, so I went and tested this vehicle and the steering is straight, it is smooth, even without bindings or tight spots, there is no problem with the steering, it is perfect steering, no leaks, why that?

We're replacing the rack, there's nothing

wrong

with it and I'll tell you what we found: The power steering pump that's right above my finger is covered in oil, it's leaking everywhere and when I first picked it up it had this bellows. here it had a little bit of oil, you can see a little bit of leakage here, it's not coming from the rack, it's coming from the pump, it was soaking up all the fluid, here it's coming from the power steering pump dripping everywhere and it's just that the wind is blowing him back he does need the power steering pump he doesn't need a steering rack that costs $2,000 cap on fire and burned that surprises me I can't believe it so let's lower the car and talk a little bit more about this let's move on Let's go ahead and open the hood, let's double confirm on the power steering pump, we talked about a couple more things that were on that list, the estimate that it came with, so let's go ahead and open the hood, so we've got a few things. they've already got it out of the way, the intake duct and some of the plastic guards and covers and things of that nature, but here's the power steering thumb and you can see where it's leaking at the back, it's not the reservoir , it is real. pump body, if I go and drive this car and come back, I can see on the floor two drops, it has such a bad leak, it just drips and drips everywhere, the number one problem on that list was a power steering leak between the pump and the rack they recommended would have cost $3,500.
I have verified that the pump is defective, that is the leak, not the frame. I can and will replace this pump for seven hundred and seventy-five dollars, parts and labor included. We already contacted the customer and got the go-ahead for everything except the last two items that were on that list that he had problems with when driving the car at a high speed of 60 70 80 miles per hour and you lightly stepped on the brakes , there was a tremor in the wheel and I have already verified that the only thing that is warped rotors in the front they wanted 518 dollars to do the front brakes and I have never seen brakes be so expensive unless they are a Ferrari or something like that.
I can do the brakes here with 250 pads, resurface the rotors and you'll have a smoothness like glass breaking after that, he also had a little bit of idle when he stopped. I looked at the throttle body and there is gum and dirt around it I'm also going to clean the idle control valve which will take care of your idle problems from start to finish. He will leave here with everything fixed correctly for $1200, that's the estimate I gave him, not 5600 you. Guys really have to be careful when taking these things to a dealership. I don't know anymore and in the old days it was like this was the highest level of technician they could find or this or that, it's already a money grab.
I've seen this at multiple dealerships in multiple different cities, not just one here or another there, this keeps happening guys, this guy came from far away and you guys have seen it was worth it, it was worth the long drive, so the question would be, why would a dealership or any workshop give such a high estimate for parts that are not even necessary? There are two reasons why Miss Magician Number One thinks they wanted to sell a car. The price was so high to fix this. I think I'll change this one and get another one. Can we do it today?
Oh yes, we can do it for you. No problem, let's go into my office or number two. This is my opinion. They didn't want to work on this. It's too old. I don't want to work on that old junk and it's not junk, it's a really good car, it's good, it's a touring

edition

, so what they do is they estimate very high and if they decide to fix it, they make a good bank. or number two you say oh hell no, I'm not going to pay that and they win, they take you out of the store and they take you down the road that's the scenario here that's what's happening here we're going to move on and you guys like these models car specific.
I'll let you check the inside. Let's look around everything. We'll pick it up again and just check the rest of the car. I didn't want to show you what I found here before moving on to the fact that this is the one you see Fe v8 with 4 liters and 32 valves, very, very good engine for the guys at Toyota, very reliable, very high quality, it's an old horse of work. war, it's a very good engine, this is during the years when they were trying to compete with Mercedes-Benz to put a V8 in a car. I think they did a very good job.
I don't know if I would consider two equals to a Mercedes Benz, but it's very, very close, really. There weren't many problems with these cars because it's a Toyota, but let's go ahead and take a look at the inside and outside of the car and we'll lift it up again. I really like the 90's style of these. it has really good styling, no major dents or anything I've seen it's in very good condition, like I said a minute ago it's not a piece of junk to try take it out of the store and I don't. I don't want that junk in here, it's actually a really nice car, let's take a look around here no dents or rust, take a look inside it smells really good in here, it's got nice leather, the dash isn't cracked at all, it's in very good condition. good condition, heater and air conditioning and radio controls are in good condition wood and center console are in pretty good condition not perfect not a showroom but in very very good condition let's take a look at the seats rear the rear seats are really nice no cracks no tears the headliner is nice it's not sagging or sagging it's really in good shape guys again like i said this is the

coach

edition

it has nice leather and the combination of colors of things, it was a special edition and again, decent paint, no dents and like I said.
A minute ago it's an LS 400 and here's the little badge, you can find it's the Coach Edition. Take a look at this side. I think it has 140,000 miles on it, that's all it has for 1997. It's really clean, it's very nice. the car is worth fixing it's not worth $6,000 to fix like they wanted to do but it's definitely worth $1200 to fix let's get this back on the air so like I always do we're going to go through it and check the radiator and it's nice and dry , it doesn't drip, nothing happens there if there is a fan.
I always like to move it in and out. I make sure the water pumps aren't loose or there's something

wrong

with the fan and it feels fine. The serpentine belt looks pretty good. You can see the ribs. There are no cracks or chips or anything up there, let's check these wheels and brakes here nice and tight we're going to put new pads and new rotors up here let me check this one, some people have commented that I didn't put a lot of effort into it. I've never needed it. If these tire rods are loose inside or outside, you can test them almost with your pinkies.
It was just clean. I'm not trying to be a man about it. I do not do it. It didn't take much, so all this moisture is coming from the power steering pump that we found leaking up there. The flex joint looks good, it's very Mercedes style and keep going down, the exhaust looks good, not a little rusty or rotten. There is a flexible joint here and it looks good too, the differential does not leak at all. I've checked it out, it's fine and fully checked for clearance here, nice and tight, brakes look new on the rear or fairly new, check this one out.
Here, nice and tight, it looks like it has new rear shocks. The KY Bees mufflers are in good condition. The whole car is really in good shape, especially once we spotted the issues we found it fixed.
