WHO'S AT FAULT FOR MAN UNITED'S TERRIBLE START? w/ Adam McKola, Buvey, Paul MachinšŸ”„Last Fan Stand
you know ten hog has to be mature and say that if he really thinks he's gonna he's gonna have a long time at man

united

he has to adapt to the premier league i'm not blaming ted hardcore i've seen it in a minute he's under more sleep than he should be the scrutiny should be on the players it should be on the ownership hello welcome back to

last

man

stand

ing my name is flavin on the show this week we've got

paul

magen we've got

adam

akola and we've got boovy and we're talking about the crumbling manchester

united

and we're asking the question whether or not tottenham bottle jobs or are they title challengers stick around to the end of the show for the return of bragging rights and also remember if you're new to

last

man

stand

ing or you enjoy what you do and you haven't already hit subscribe and like let's get on with the show so question one and

adam

i'm really sorry because this has just been a horrendous surrender i know i know i'm sorry i'm coming to you first i have to because i'm gonna ask a question manchester

united

are they two manchester

united

are crumbling but are they too big to go down and notice i didn't say too good to go down because are we doing this in week two i'm asking the question i'm not taking i'm just asking the question on the minds of many other fans no club is too big to go down because it's not about the size of your club it's about the quality of your...

players not in that sense we won't be fine in manchester

united

sense but in terms of going down we'll be fine who's going to take control of this madness that's going on at your club um wow but we've had a bunch of loons making decisions left right and center um for the

last

couple of years and i think it's a culmination of all of that what you're seeing at the moment isn't you know i'm not blaming ten harper what we're seeing in a minute

united

need to do a bit of work in terms of the squad in terms of the players in terms of the transfers but i think it's a culmination of so many years of mismanagement and that's what like the squad at the minute is a mixed match of players for different managers with different philosophies with different styles of play some of them aren't good enough some of them used to be good enough but they've had the spirit drained out of them by the club um like some of them are too young like some of them need to do one some of them will never be good like it's just a mix of players that just ultimately aren't good enough um but eventually there are one or two in there and i think eventually when 10 hog has a couple of windows he'll get the team looking how he wants it i'm not panicking just yet and look we're going to lose against liverpool which are very lightly i'm not going to i'm not going to panic about about the manager at that point it's not it's not...

his

fault

that we're in this position at some point you've got a question a manager like like would i be free on the bounce

paul

i mean let's hope so that'll be that's that's that's yeah before we go too heavy

united

i would i would have preferred this another week's time when we have you know when they have lost today consecutively no i i get what i'm saying i do let's just just just clarify this as we've had for a few weeks i'd

start

i am

start

ing to feel a little bit like just the sadness in his eyes i don't want anyone to feel sorry no no i'm not sorry for you not you i don't know i'm sorry for collecting manchester

united

fans i couldn't yeah it's not in me dna um but the um no but look i said this a couple of weeks ago about ten hog the problem he's got is he had an opportunity there with the ronaldo stuff to really put himself on top you know walk in and just go right i'm not

stand

ing for all this and it can all be a you know for show you know it's also to get sorted behind the scenes but he just gets to be the guy who looks the figurehead he gets the leader he comes out and says i am eric tenharg i am not

stand

ing any of this cristiano ronaldo nonsense what a fantastic player he is what a player he's been but he's if he doesn't want to be at manchester

united

then i don't want him at my manchester

united

and he could have really stolen the march there he could have...

bought himself all kinds of time and because strength is important and man

united

fans value strength in the manager as well big time big time um and i think he's missed an opportunity i think it's made him look weak as a result and i don't think that that helps and the fact that he has to bring him in at the weekend and then the solution to them being crap is to get them to come in the next day and run a bit um it means that he's on he's under more scrutiny than he should be the scrutiny should be on the players it should be on the ownership i've i'm so i i think booby i'm i'm desperate to hear what you think about manchester

united

's history situation for obvious reasons but but there is there has been a systematic mismanagement of manchester

united

since fergie left and since the glaciers have been in but at what point does 10 heart

start

er have to take on responsibility despite that since day one mate since day one uh if you lose to brighton at home uh it's absolutely not good enough look there are philosophical issues at the club from the highest point in the club to the lowest point in the club every football fan under

stand

s that every football fan under

stand

s you know that the glazers are taking money out of the club and man

united

fans have a right to be aggrieved about that of course because they're a massive institution and the glazers are awful for man

united

but if you're a manager and you've got 16 17 players...
to work with and you go to brighton and then you go to brentford and you get and six but six goals get put past you your managerial

stand

ards aren't good enough simple as that um there are so much so much space in midfield uh changing ericsson from a false nine to a deep lying um playmaker look when guardiola came in when clock came in they wanted to install their philosophy as soon as possible but it was hard and there were points where guardiola told centre-backs to punt it long down the channels clop similar and now it's taken four or five years where we don't see any of that from city um and you know ten hog has to be mature and say that if he really thinks he's gonna he's gonna have a long time at man

united

he has to adapt to the premier league you know apparently he's not gonna adapt to him he talked about the the end of eras at liverpool man city you know ten hog won't be here in two months if he keeps on like this he has to make them hard to beat and he has to he has to uh abide by how english football currently is which is a lot more physical a lot more powerful than dutch football is we did we did a show together actually uh one of the

last

of our

stand

ing

last

season where we talked about whether or not this was an impossible job for 10 hog that the man

united

job was not the right jump for him at this stage because of the magnitude of the task ad what do you make of that like you know now that he's been in the job a few months um...
i'm i'm honestly i'm fully behind the manager i'm looking forward to seeing of course all right maybe you made a mistake or two in selection or something like that but ultimately i think he's what he's asking of these players isn't isn't the wrong thing i think he's just got idiots trying to carry it out i mean when you look at his

fault

if you ask you know if you're you need to solve a but who else has he got like you mentioned cristiano ronaldo earlier like he would probably love to be able to go you know no just just do one please then he does that we've got no striker yeah like obviously i'm trying to replace cristiano ronaldo with a striker i'm trying to get into mars and but i'm going to get him he's 40 like with the greatest we want to get a midfielder yeah and guess what we have to do sell one of our brightest youngest prospects to be able to afford a midfielder like we're in the process of selling james garner it makes no sense like tottenham or someone will go and buy him and turn him into a into the quality player that we know he should be and it's almost like barcelona acts like we're selling our future to kind of ensure our present is backwards these owners are awful and look obviously the owners and what they're doing gets magnified at moments like this ultimately what i'm saying here is i'm giving eric turn hard time because i know he needs it i know he needs it i i don't...
think you have it you have a choice now because like what what what what next like obviously 10 hog has showed incredible work i turned him into a brilliant team and were taking on some of the best sides in europe but he had the players he had the philosophy and as

paul

was mentioned a couple of times he had the stewardship of the club they trusted him whereas many

united

different times that's one of the things i alluded to before he arrived yet like you can get 10 heart but we never got like when when when said argus that i actually had van der sar over mars i know he left eventually he had like a full set up there of of everything and now we haven't got that he's now coming here he's working with myrtle and arnold who haven't got a clue um and the glazers who v o a lot of the the moves that we're trying to make so he's not he's not he's not he's not running or he's not working for a football club that is run purely on a footballing perspective or yeah with football the number one priority and it shows all right it's around the same time i wouldn't blame him if he walked but and he's walked in there and he's gone usually i've brought me here under false pretenses and done one he's doing it he wouldn't play he's doing a brendon rodgers like when he came in at liverpool is that he's not seeing enough intelligence around him and what he's doing or not enough enough structure and he's...
doubling down on himself and that's why he's buying players that he knows rather than

united

having a system in place where you buy players that suit your system when you

start

a play and the manager becomes more like a sprinkling of magic on top um he's going to walk and as

adam

said he's going to walk and leave a bunch of players that are specifically suited to what he wants and that's exactly what they've been doing for a decade now it's hilarious there's no there's no clear philosophy there's no clear like you you know what i mean like i mean one's a goater or whoever it was named is salah right you don't worry it'll work but you need some form of good structure in place um that runs as a football club even when the manager's not there we haven't los andre martinez is definitely not a center back in the premier league we can go there but we don't come on man i think i think this is being overplayed in the la in the two games not overplayed is one inch shorter than nathan or something like that actually he's not made to be a center back he's small as a person as well he's not just small and height he's actually got a small body and mentality a center back 60 millimeter wow all right boys we got we've got to move on

adam

sandler we'll have to move on as well um before we do um boovie where will manchester

united

finish this season uh i think a top half finish is a world-class achievement...
for this manager for this group of players uh for me i'm going 14th i think they'll get out of relegation but um i think there's three managers for me that i'd look at bringing in to replace ten hog i think you know alan pardew's free he's got experience now sean finishes he actually got burnley into europe don't forget uh and sam alois uh he's a big name of football i think he'd get these lads out of a a real problem sean sandro martinez um i'm very much staring on the barrel of a man

united

everton relegation season here and i may afford it all day long i decided to talk myself out of it

last

year but this year i'm in for it now don't finish it go ahead just give me a prediction right now change from before fifth six maybe second nice let's go let's uh let's go to this course so the scores after round one

adam

with nine had a fantastic clap back at

paul

's ronaldo comments enjoyed that

paul

with eight points had a great point on ten harg needing to get rid of ronaldo and booby with eight is when he went in on ten hog for his poor premier league tactics okay round two our tottenham hotspur title challenges or are we still bottle jobs obviously just recently tottenham's were just uh we managed to snatch a draw against chelsea and i'm sure people are getting fed up with spurs fans talking about how good we can potentially be this season but uh

paul

what what what do you make of that uh question or do do you...
believe tottenham title challenges after that late win at chelsea did we show the credentials or was the overall performance of chelsea too dominant to suggest that tottenham aren't bottle jobs wasn't a draw it was a draw yes but you never snatched a drawer i can appreciate it i can appreciate that and that says everything you want to know about tottenham mentality right there that you think draws or wins and we think draws are defeats like that that's that's the difference that's the fundamental difference there flav and that's where that and that tells you where to multiplayer will be this season is that you're gonna you're gonna finish in the top four and i think he will and i think he's probably gonna finish dead because i think between the manager and the players i think you've got enough bought but you know i've been giving conte a lot of credits i think he i i think he i thought he was the third best manager in the premier league but on reflection of watching the game at the weekend i think i think i've been a bit unfair to thomas too cool you can't just say it's a point and then just go through one game stop

last

week you could everyone just wrote can we just rewind can we have a hard cut to

last

week when you're like well top of the pile oh the pressure of being the title the title leaders the favorites for the title this season after one after one game of the season yeah so shut up um the point is i've...
been a bit disrespectful to tommy the touch there because he's clearly a brilliant manager and he's clearly got an absolutely iron grip as well which is also something like you know real strength of character there um i thought he showed an absolute weakness of character to reacting the way he did he behaved like like a child he's like a 56 year old man how hot how tight is this grip or how we could contact hands it was on his way he crushes zod's hand and it just

start

s to hear a crack and he's like oh that's that like conte i mean i don't think sushi's got that he hasn't got the he hasn't got the muscular structure for it it can't have been the i too much of it which shows his weakness too okay whatever what do you make of tottenham i know you're going to do the whole oh manchester city so good and no one can never get near us apart from liverpool because it's just liverpool manchester

united

forever but you know did you see anything in performance against chelsea to suggest they do have the metal to continue to challenge or is it simply a case of third or fourth place and that's it well there were two factors for me that i thought spurs if they were going to challenge they've got a kind of unique quality about them and the first factor is the world-class sort of talent of forward line players that you have sun and kane and they went missing against chelsea obviously kane was through on goal really really poor...
finish and there are moments where you know you're thinking of thierry henry sergio aguero mohamed salah these guys would have scored that goal and they would have won one nil and spurs would have that's a win no seriously history this guy didn't even hit the target he scuffed a simple opportunity i'm thinking if you're going to try and win a premier league title you need to be grinding these wins out with with better finishes than that the second factor for me is you're trying to change the game you know chelsea get back into the game and you bring richarlison on um you bring perisic on it was in ineffective so you're actually your squad depth looks better on paper but you're bringing on with charleston you couldn't you couldn't hold on to the ball he you had about five touches where it went astray and then your best player apparently the best striker in premier league history according to you scuffs a very very simple opportunity and he and he doesn't give you that goal where you should be beating chelsea you know based on the chances you add so for me it's classic spurs you're happy to be involved you're happy to get a point at stanford bridge you're happy to be in the party yeah sit there and take it right i love him as long as he's not talking about my football club then i hate him i think that's like everybody else even his mom says that i love him don't talk about my football was nonsense just to...
defend myself a little bit richarlison came on and hurried and defended for the front which changed the dynamic he's not a man to sit on the bench he'll be happy and he's going to be on the bench a lot him and kante are gonna have a scrap and that's where kante loses his mind i've already discussed it tell tell me about where you feel what where spurs are though

adam

despite what you've just said where they are monika is it gone no that will always remain until you do something useful um but i think i think outside the obvious two you're the best of the rest possibly but i i still back chelsea i still think chelsea are gonna finish in top four and be comfortable with that um so yeah i still think spurs will finish third or fourth um i still think you'll be fine this season but i've never expected you to win the league and i've never expected you to challenge for it you won't but you won't bottle it you won't bottle it but you'll be in the title challenge because there's always a third team in the title challenge but they only ever

last

till christmas i mean chelsea had done it a handful of times she think oh chelsea look really good they

start

ed really strongly and then they fall away and then you know and booby can probably attest this but in like february march you look at the table and realize no one's anywhere near you know does that gap as form to the third to there then below but it won't be it...
won't be a bottle job thing but you'll but i'm sure it feels like it feels like we're looking into your insecurities you've been here mate um you need to get out of what's up with other london club fans because you're more interested in being the biggest londoner yeah spurs need to focus on trying to get back to winning league cup titles winning milk cups you know all these cups you know ultimately the premier league is just a it's a level beyond you haven't won a league the

last

time spurs won the league there was black and white tv so we're talking about so long ago that uh i i you know you're not really in the discussion for league contenders for no for no justifiable reason you can't just jump there and you've got it gotta earn it you wait boovy i'm gonna ram those words down your throat one one day one day um but before before before we we round up it we do have to kind of acknowledge the fact that a lot of people are digging out chelsea they were you know i think all of us have been a little bit critical of chelsea's transfer plans and how how big the impact of losing the brandwich would been but in terms of that 90 minutes against spurs they were very very good and um you know you know you need to we need to acknowledge the fact that they are still the club that they were

last

season i don't think they will be in the long run but based on yesterday's performance super had them playing brilliantly and...
they definitely deserve to win yeah um what did you make of that

paul

uh you know i was impressed by chelsea they're one of the teams that i've tried they're one of the teams that i thought could go on with you there and look it's very early they might do exactly that they could implode at some point down the line i think they needed they need more goals in that team i think stalin's being tasked with being too much of a go and make everything happen for us players you look at city he got to just rock up and be part of the system arrive at the back post stick some goals in finish off moves the idea and he can do this you know he was doing this for liverpool and he's done this for city but i think the idea of he's got to be the main instigators not necessarily what he needs at this stage of his career i think it's a backwards step when you're asking him to go and do more for the football team at this point and have it so with his miss you know he's not he's not clinic i think he's a brilliant forward i think he's really really good but he's not i don't think he's not 30 all season kind of kind of material is in in attack but the good luck that what 18 months from being on from being the european champions or whatever they're still the world champions there they've got a core of something really good they're if he sorts the defense out which he looks to be looks to be doing if they have fafana to that...
as well then yeah actually no reason why chelsea can't stick it out for another season if they ride that i think they'll they'll be right back up there still but i think you could manage it as well yeah i think chelsea are in a position that they're very rarely in where they have a manager and usually by this point the manager would have been sacked or like you feel like he would have been gone for some reason like it would have happened but it's actually yeah and it'd be interesting to see with the new owners if they do that usual thing go all right he has a dip oh let's get rid and get someone else in or if they actually back him and give him time and try and build something to sustain because when you look outside of it it's like look again i'm not suggesting 10 hearts should be sacked but when people do that you go oh who's next and there's not there's not many coaches about anymore so losing touch would be a blow for for chelsea i think um and it'd be interesting to see how they treat him i think though they'll back him and help him rebuild yeah 100 percent you look at the new signings as well i think kirk corello settled in really really well i think for final be a great addition cuda barley looked immense yesterday so powerful he looks like a premier league center back already um and i think the big ones reese james we also had a lot of injury concerns

last

season if him and ben chillwell can get going i mean...
it's it's crazy i think if we if we if we were doing this video 10 years ago our full backs if our if our full backs are injured we're gonna you know our season is gonna be derailed but actually modern football you know some of these small kind of you know a left wing back can actually change your whole system with these kind of modern you know philosophical managers like tuko and guardiola and klopp so actually if ben chilwell comes back

start

s firing reese james

start

s firing these guys could be so dangerous especially on the counter attack reese james was amazing yesterday and that goal against suppose you know so much space that spurs couldn't handle the width that chelsea had on the counter attack it was uh i think these james ben cho are big roles to play had to change the system to get back in the game so obviously you've got to give up something not in that instance if you had a goalkeeper who could save things as well that wouldn't have been quite as good a goal given that he kicked it right down the middle of the goal as well just just to point that out brilliant thanks

paul

thank you very much for your weakness okay the winner of
