The high speed steel performed much better than average at 850 psi, but that's not enough to take the jb weld gorilla lead also performed much better than average at 750 psi, but that's not enough to take the lead. Loctite crumbled at 300 psi. Pratley really struggled at just 125 psi. Unfortunately, Pratley just didn't do very well. Hercules gave it to JB. weld and pc7 are running for the money but 1125 isn't enough to take the lead from jb weld so jb weld came out on top with 1250 pc7 1225 hercules 1125 kbs new metal and high speed steel both at 850. now that we know the psi which took the crest of the cubes we can use a mathematical formula to calculate the weight or you can simply use an online calculator for calculations so jb weld crumbled at 3925 lbs pc7 3847 hercules 3533 in both new metal and steel quick on 2669.
After drilling a hole in each of these pipes, we repaired the pipes with epoxy putty, so next we'll see which brand could handle the most psi. The outer pipe eventually burst at 800 psi. I found the missing piece in the pipe. A large chunk exploded. It was removed and remained intact. You can see how the epoxy putty formed a plug in the repair area. It did a great job at 975 psi, but that's not enough to move forward with PC7 or new metal. A very large area is missing on the por-15 JB. weld once again did an excellent job at 2100 psi and moves into second place behind pc7 jp weld also did very well pickles that were missing from the pipe a plus b once again struggled in this test at only 375 psi unfortunately, a plus b just didn't do it very well, ep 400 was definitely above average at 1075 psi, there is a fracture directly above the repair area allowing pressure to escape.
Quicksteel did an excellent job at 2000 psi, moving into third position behind JB Weld Quick Steel actually did very well in this matchup. Including this test, as you can see, a very large chunk is missing from the repair area. The bouncer also did a great job at 1075 psi. I also found that the piece of gorilla that flew out of the loctite tubing performed even better than the gorilla at 1,400 psi, pretty good. The crater at Loctite Pratley really had problems at 50 psiright after applying pressure, it started leaking pretty quickly. Hercules did an excellent job at 1750 psi. Hercules did a very good job in this matchup and, as you can see, a good portion of the epoxy. missing so pc7 came out on top at 4000 psi jb weld second at 2100 psi speed steel 2000 hercules 1750 and loctite 1400 in the video above we used low temperature aluminum welding rods to repair a large hole in this cylinder head.
I'm going to polish this repair and then we'll put some epoxy putty on it. Definitely a big gash on this cylinder head that needs repair. High speed steel definitely seems like the right product for the job as it can withstand up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and will cure in just one hour. Okay, we'll let this heal and come back right away to see how it works. It happens all the time you're in the woods, trying to get a vehicle out and everything. suddenly the chain breaks, of course you have nothing to clean the chain and of course the adhesive tape will not be strong enough to fix this chain, so what else can you do?
You could get some epoxy putty out. I have about three quarters of a JB welding rod, so let's go ahead and use it to see if we can repair this chain. To make the repair, I will overlap two links and see if the JB solder will hold the JBL. about two hours to cure, so you should be ready to go. Unfortunately the epoxy didn't hold, but this is my fault. I didn't use enough epoxy. I'm going to go back and see if I can do a little better job. a name like Hercules we have to give Hercules a chance to see if he is strong enough to repair this chain.
I'll just overlay one chain link for now and then add some additional epoxy in a minute. I just remembered I had some new metal left over, so I'm going to use some too. I'm going to go ahead and add a little bit for 15. I'm still not done more for 15. I'm still not done, I found something prattly, let's add a little more prattly. I'm going to add some epoxy plus b, okay, let's add some ep 400, let's add some pc7 paste, wow, what a mess, this is about 150 chains, fix it, it better work, all good. the epoxy putty is fully cured so let's put this in and see how long the engine will run for 30 minutes and the epoxy putty held up very impressive once this engine cools down i'm going to take the cylinder head off and we'll take a closer look at it .
Check out this epoxy repair. It's been about 48 hours and this epoxy is fully cured, so let's do some testing and see how it holds up. I'm really surprised that so much epoxy held up so well. probably stronger than chain. I am very impressed with how well the steel holds up, as you can see it is still intact. I don't see any kind of crack, it's just in very good condition. Really impressed with some of these brands, including JB Weld, which definitely came out on top overall, especially when you consider the price. Kbs New Metal is also a great product if you are looking to buy in bulk and finally Hercules is also a very good product if the price is right.
