. First of all, Amazon Prime Day is July 11 and 12, and this two-day Black Friday-style event can result in serious savings if you

how to take advantage of it. Which brings me to my second point: how Amazon Prime Day is different in

. How many times have you tried to purchase a successful Amazon Prime Day deal or the so-called Lightning Deal, only to find out that it sold out in seconds? That changes this year. Amazon has introduced a new invitation-only program for the biggest deals it hopes to sell out.

Prime members can visit these product listings to request an invite before the event. If you choose, you will receive an email with a unique link to purchase the item during Prime Day. If you're a Prime member, this 75% off 43-inch Smart TV deal for a hundred dollars is an example of an invite-only Prime deal that you'd request access to right now. Coming in at number three is a new Prime Day benefit to put some extra money in your wallet.

Amazon is offering a $15 reward to any new or existing Prime member who downloads the free Amazon Photo app and uploads their first photo. It won't cost you anything more than a few minutes of your time, and in exchange you'll get $15 free to shop on Prime Day. And just like last year, you can get a free $5 credit if you purchase a $50 Amazon gift card in time for Prime Day. If you're already planning to buy something on Amazon, this $5 freebie is easy to get. In the next point, I will answer the most popular question I receive about Prime Day. "Is Prime Day better on day one or day two?" And my answer is that if you see an item that interests you on the first day, buy it.

Don't risk the item going out of stock. It will not drop to a lower price. What I hope to be different this year is to escape some of the stigma of day two of the past. Amazon will put the same emphasis on the second day of Prime Day with some spectacular deals to further retain your interest, which I'll cover here. The second biggest question I get is, "When is the smartest time to shop and get the biggest Prime Day deals?" Now, aside from the invite-only system I explained, which will only apply to a select number of deals, this year the best time to shop on Prime Day is between 8:00 and 12:00 ET.

Amazon counts on the number of people who wake up fresh-eyed and eager or those who are on their lunch break with some extra time to shop. Another amazing time to shop is the often overlooked time between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. ET

While Amazon is offering some initial discounts to trigger Prime Day, if there's a product made or owned by Amazon that's not already on sale right now, don't buy it yet. I wouldn't buy anything smart home related, which includes purchases from home security brands like Ring and Blink, which are actually owned by Amazon and also avoid the more obvious Amazon Alexa Voice-enabled devices. Don't buy TVs, any type of vacuum cleaners, or Apple products before Prime Day, which again is July 11 and 12. At number six, it's your reminder that you can rack up coupons with your Prime Day early and on-day purchases.

Just like many of us wouldn't complete a grocery purchase without a coupon in hand or the way many of you watch my Sam's Club and Costco videos right here before heading to a grocery store, which I appreciate, there is a collection of Often overlooked Prime Day member coupons, which I'll link to in the video description box below, that you can apply to a Prime Day purchase or explore categories of interest. An alternative to this is to simply create an Amazon wish list that includes all your favorite products and that way, on Prime Day, you won't need to sift through thousands of sales. Following the tip I just shared, there's a secret scheduling tip if you own an Amazon Echo to receive personalized alerts about the Prime Day deals most important to you. You've probably heard Amazon encouraging you to ask the Amazon Alexa voice service what the best Prime Day deals are and then you'll get a confusing list of products that might not be of interest to you. Instead, there's a setting hidden within your Echo Mobile app to ensure you receive a visual alert of a sale on any of the items you've added to your wish list or shopping cart.

All you have to do is enable the in-app purchase and deal recommendation setting, and to save you a lengthy explanation, here's how to turn it on. So feel free to pause this video. For this TV as an example, even though it is on Amazon, the TV I would purchase is actually from Best Buy and will ship directly from them, which brings me to my next point. Amazon Prime Day, Walmart, and Target will be holding their own sales to coincide with Prime Day week, and of course, I'll be working around the clock to isolate the best deals for you on this channel.
