You have an idea where they're essentially coming from, but I feel like there are so many different names and people involved in this case that it could be

really

overwhelming. Get to the point. Really get to the point. I'm going to start with Max Shak. Nigh and Max were a six-year-old boy in 2011 when this

happened

and their parents were Jonah Shaq Nye and Deena Romano Jonah, who was 54 years old at the time, was a wealthy CEO of a pharmaceutical company that primarily sold Restylane cosmetic fillers. self made billionaire he had a lot of money he also had a lot of face no that's not funny so his main residence was in Arizona he moved quite often to the Spreckels

mansion

in Coronado California now Coronado is beautiful but all the houses They are millions. of dollars, I mean, it's for very rich and wealthy people, so Jonah and Deana were together, they got married and then they had a son named Max and they divorced in 2008.

Rebecca is the one who was 32 years old. She and Jonah Shaq were a couple they had. They met at a job where Rebecca worked in Arizona, they seemed very in love and very happy. Rebecca was staying at the Spreckels

mansion

or in Coronado during the summer and she was with the family Max and Jonah and then with her sister Zena, who was 13 years old. She came to visit from Missouri, so the Spreckels mansion was the largest and most beautiful house in Coronado. Some reports say it had 27 rooms, but I actually looked it up because it's for sale right now.
It has 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms right on the ocean. Is beautiful. If I say it again, on July 11, 2011, Rebecca was with her sister who was visiting and they were at the Spreckels mansion. Jonah was at work. Max was a happy, well-developed six-year-old boy. His mother reports that he was. He's not a daredevil at all, so somehow that day Max had taken a pretty bad fall over the second floor railing of the Spreckels mansion and then that turned into fatal injuries. No one witnessed Max's fall. It's really unclear what caused Max to fall over the railing. There are tons of theories about what could have happened - he was riding his scooter and he fell and it was foul play - but what we know for sure is that Max was found on the first floor with fractured facial bones and a spinal cord injury. resting on Max.
The leg was his scooter and the chandelier hanging from the ceiling had broken and fallen, although it was not on, but had fallen to other people present in the house at the time of Max's fall, they were Rebecca and his sister. Of them reported that they had not seen Max fall, they had no idea what happened. Rebecca had reported that she was in the bathroom at the time and that her sister was getting ready to take a shower, so Rebecca was in the bathroom and she just heard a really loud noise and then she ran out and saw that Max was hurt. .
She called her 13-year-old sister and called 9-1-1. Rebecca says that when she ran out and encountered a ghost, Max was on the ground. He was conscious and was saying the word ocean and ocean was his dog's name, so she thought maybe he was trying to say it was the dog that did it or something, but he told the lifeguards that he was saying the word. name to Ocean's lifeguards, they would later testify in court that they heard Rebecca say that Dina is going to kill me and that Dena was Max's mother when Max was taken to Children's Hospital.
Max was unresponsive and not breathing, which is why a lot of people are wondering. Rebecca liked it, how did she say ocean? If when they took him to the hospital she wasn't even breathing, he wasn't even responsible. A lot of people started wondering, well, you know what really happened. Investigators reported that Max played on a scooter, he played with soccer balls like in the hallway area where they could play a lot. Many have alleged that Max was riding his scooter in the house and tripped over the dog. He got to his place somehow and he tripped and fell and then that's how he fell over the railing, grabbed the chandelier as he was coming down and then he crashed.
There are others who strongly disagree that this may not even be possible, there is no way this happened. Max's mother ended up hiring a private company to actually investigate Max's fall. They concluded that Max's center of gravity was too low to allow him to go over the railing along with his scooter. They also said the hallway carpet was shaggy. It was simply too thick which would have prevented Max from traveling at a speed that would throw him over the railing. Max had no cuts on his hands even though he supposedly grabbed onto the chandelier on the way down, but after this private company He did.
They examined Max's fall and couldn't even replicate how this could have happened and concluded that there had to be foul play, but when they examined the scooter it was shown that on the underside of the scooter there was white paint. and white marks and some dents and it lined up exactly with the dents that were in the stair railing. There were some theories that Max was trying to use his scooter and go down the railing, he ended up falling and then he grabbed onto the chandelier and I pulled him down with him, remember razor scooters on YouTube and on TV and things you'd see that kids used the scooters to go down the railings and go up stairs like they were acting stupid on their scooters, so some theories said That Max was trying to go down the railing or something and do one of these tricks that he saw, but unfortunately it ended up falling.
Police investigators ended up concluding that it was a terrible and tragic accident. Max was taken by ambulance to a local children's hospital and was in critical condition. condition in the ICU, his parents, Deena and Jonah, were there by his side like the whole time wasn't looking too good for poor Max, so Deena had called her twin sister Nina and Nina flew into the city to come , you know, be there for her. Her sister would be there for the family. Rebecca went to the airport to pick up Nina and then Nina would later say that Rebecca acted very strange every time she asked her what had happened, that she was beating around the bush as if she didn't care. would matter. direct response the next day Rebecca also went to the airport to pick up Jonah her younger brother and his name is Adam and Adam worked on the Mississippi River and was a tugboat pilot since 1997 so she picked up Adam that way the whole family . was able to come in and be there to support Max remained on life support in the ICU his condition seemed to be stable or even improving Adam Jonah Rebecca everyone liked going home for the night and had dinner on July 12, 2011 and then Jonah the father returned to the Children's Hospital to be at Max's side.
Adam and Rebecca ended up staying alone in the house. Adam stays outside in the guest house, although he's fine because the guest house is huge, and then Rebecca was alone in the big house. because his sister had come back the day before, okay, I know we'll get there, so Adam is in the back house. He reported that he took an ambien, a sleeping pill, and then fell asleep around 8 p.m. on July 12 the next morning July 13 at 6:48 a.m. Adam called 911 911 one call Adam says he found a body bound, gagged, naked and hanging from the second floor balcony of the mansion in the 9-1-1 call, the first thing you hear Adam say is yes, a girl he hanged himself in the house on Ocean Boulevard in front of the hotel where you guys came yesterday for the guy, like the 9-1-1 call was strange, why did he call her just for girl and he knew who she was, so everything It was a little strange and that will come into play later, Adam said he was going to get coffee and that's when he saw Rebecca Adam says when he found Rebecca, she was completely naked she was gagged by a blue long sleeve t-shirt her body of the shirt was wrapped around her neck three times the sleeves of the shirt were double knotted and stuffed into her mouth her hands were tied behind her her back and feet were also tied.
Rebecca's body was hanging from a reddish-orange rope tied around her neck. The same type of rope was used to tie her hands and feet and the other end of the rope was tied to the bed frame. the bedroom where Rebecca was staying Adam says that when he saw Rebecca's body hanging he ran to the kitchen he grabbed a knife and grabbed a three legged table he took it there so he could climb on the table and cut the rope that he then says he He removed the shirt that was around Rebecca's neck and into her mouth and then started performing CPR for some strange reason.
I guess this story had hit the media and then they sent it out as a news story. Helicopter and this helicopter surrounded the house, they captured Rebecca's body Rebecca, which was still outside and she was still naked, she was even covered and then they showed it on TV, they blurred it out, but what are you guys doing because the police had already I was there, you know, I'm nobody, but from what I understand, most of the time at the crime scene they covered the body with something, but they didn't like it, they just left Rebecca still naked on the grass, this made the family extremely upset, I mean for all the obvious reasons any of us would be upset if that happened to one of our family members, why did they show it on the news?
So the San Diego medical examiner arrived on the scene 12 hours after Adams' original call to 911. For 12 hours, Rebecca's body remained outside and she was not covered. For 12 hours, this upset many people because they believed it was evidence of a compromised investigation. The medical examiner determined that Rebecca's official cause of death was suicide by hanging. Her autopsy report showed that she had a neck injury, she had fractures to her left arm and also in the autopsy report there were multiple bruises and abrasions. scattered on Rebecca's back, arms and legs. The autopsy examiner believed this happened because Rebecca Jenna went straight to the balcony, they believe she felt at an angle and when she fell she must have hit large plants under the balcony, there really wasn't much around the balcony to hit, so which yeah, it's like there was You're sure they also did a toxicology report and it showed that he had no drugs or alcohol in his system.
They estimated her time of death to be around 3:00 a.m. m. on July 13, 2011, so if we go back to Rebecca's room, a red robe can be seen tied with a slipknot to a leg of the bed on the floor near the bed there is a plastic garbage bag a small paintbrush in a large paintbrush a large kitchen knife in a small kitchen knife under the plastic bag was a tube of black paint, so Rebecca The media widely reported that the hands and feet were nautical knots. Police investigators had said the type of knots used were a hitch knot and a slip knot.
It is not exactly accurate to describe them as nautical knots. They are not used exclusively in navigation, but for the most part they are used in navigation. A slip knot is extremely simple to create, but a cleat hitch knot is a little more complicated. This type of knot is most commonly used in sailing. Now, surprise test, remember? What I said that Adam did as a profession at the beginning when I introduced him to Adam and that he was a pilot oftugboat since 1997, now the researchers came back and said these are very common knots, everyone knows how to use them, they are not complicated.
It's completely exaggerated by the media and when I heard that I was like, shut up, no, you're familiar with Coronado, it's right on the water and a lot of people own boats, a lot of people go out boating. water in their fancy boats, a lot of people were like, well, Rebecca and her boyfriend would go out and take the boat and go out all the time like Rebecca knew how to tie these knots, but Rebecca's family would say that Rebecca would complain about everything. the time he never takes me on the boat we only take it out once a year we never use the boat you look at the photos like these knots or they look a little complicated so also Rebecca's feet were very dirty and they took a look at the balcony and the balcony was very dirty and their footprints were showing like on the balcony you can see a V shape so they saw that it lined up with the reason why the feet were so dirty and then they also saw a small footprint of a boot.
Now the police said it was a police boot print, but they didn't. I don't like to test it or anything, they just assumed it was the police boot, so we didn't even mention the painted message that was in the bedroom, a door in the bedroom, there were words painted on it like a secret message painted on it. on the door and it said quote she saved him can you save her? I was about to say suspicious, just creepy, this whole thing gives you chills when you see it, what kind of thing is going on, everyone has their theories about what it means the police have never realized they didn't find any other DNA on room besides Rebecca's, then a witness comes forward, there was a next door neighbor who he had heard screaming and it sounded like a woman and she was screaming for help and there was just a lot of screaming, he heard a big scream, so when the police interviewed this neighbor, told her she was wrong, that she heard screams coming from a different direction and then they just ignored it.
Ma'am, no one interviewed you again. Rebecca's family contacted a high-profile Seattle attorney. Her name was Anne Bremner, we'll just call her An, and that was in the fall of 2011 and after reviewing the details of the case, he agreed with Rebecca's opinion. The family said the suicide ruling was a suspicion and actually offered to take Rebecca's case for free, so Anne had some pretty high connections and brought in this guy called Dr. ooh, he was a doctor, a renowned forensic pathologist and he had over 17,000 autopsies under his belt, so as if he had seen a few, she brings him in and they decided to do a second autopsy, but even though she was embalmed, she still had several findings.
So, there were a few things this guy agreed with: They both noticed that there was a lot of damage to Rebecca's neck. She had severely torn muscles in the front and sides of her neck. Well, he agreed that the findings about Rebecca's neck injuries are consistent with hanging. are not exclusive to simply hanging, he believed that they could also be consistent with strangulation as a cause of death and he found it strange that Rebecca's hair was gathered under the noose, so he thought this was strange because many people, especially women with medium to long length. long hair in most cases they pull their hair out of whatever they have around their neck, whether it's a tie on the collar of a shirt.
She said that most women, when they are found, if they commit suicide, their hair is pulled out. It was very strange that Rebecca didn't have my hair pulled out, which I thought was very interesting because it's little things like that that you don't think about, but they're big clues, you know, I don't want it to sound like these are my words, because if not These are my words, this is coming from someone like her, she is saying that if most women committed suicide they would not do it naked and that was something that should also be taken into account in the two autopsy reports that there have been. four areas like on the top of her bukka head there was bleeding near the top of her scalp when the first autopsy was done there was a theory that Rebecca didn't fall directly onto the railing she felt sideways remember as an angle and that his head came into contact with trees or bushes or the balcony itself, causing the small hemorrhages that Bailey had when the second autopsy was performed.
They were convinced that this was not the case; they believe that it could have been caused intentionally. inflicted blows on the head, okay, then lividity appears. Lividity is the drawing of blood in the body after death, causing purple or violet-like discoloration of the skin, so if a person dies face up, there will most likely be a pool of blood that goes with the position of the deceased, so if he dies face up, there will be a pool of blood like on his backside. The medical examiner will use lividity to help determine the time of death and what position the body was in at the time.
Post-mortem lividity can begin as early as thirty minutes once the person has died and becomes fixed or permanent four to six hours after death, so when the autopsy was performed on Rebecca, the lividity would have been fixed on Rebecca's back. If Rebecca had died as a result of hanging, then the lividity would have set in her lower extremities, so in the original autopsy report they said blood was present in Rebecca's vagina, it's not that suspicious. They know or think that Rebecca was on her period. I know seeing all the guys in the room cringe and thank God I was and we'll get into that so Rebecca is sorry, the family, oh my God, are you serious?
My lights keep going out. It was this doctor dr. Goodman, he was another forensics guy, but he looked at the pictures that were provided of the scene and remember how we talked earlier like there was another footprint on the balcony, the police officer said well, it was a police boot, it's not another footprint and she is. a police boot, well, this guy, dr. Goodwin looked at this photograph of the print and then compared it to a police boot and everything and determined that the boot print was not from police officers, it was not aligned with police officers that it was not aligned with.
Rebecca because Rebecca was barefoot and he went to the dr. Phil show and pretty much broke down everything that didn't make sense, there was someone else on the balcony and then funnily enough dr. Goodwin was forced out of Rebecca's case, but he never fully explained why he was forced out mm-hmm, so he guesses what's more. Well, when Rebecca died they took, you know, computers and things like evidence to look at and phones to look at and to see if they could put some pieces together correctly, so they took Adams' phone because Adam was in the house that night. anyway, so they took Adams' phone and guess what they find on his phone now.
I'm not judging, I'm not you. You're allowed to like this kind of thing, but if it fits this story, you think that at some point on the night of July 12th or even the next day, like early the next day, July 13th, someone we can't tell Adam, someone had searched terms like sexy. asian girls and anime bondage, so again, even if he likes that, I mean whatever, but the strange thing is that he comes up with watching it the night before and murders her and ends up tied up and all that and then for course, police investigators because it looks like they're on Team Adam here, they say you know someone must have accessed the computer now Adam allegedly admitted to watching porn on his iPhone on the morning of July 13, so, in 2010 , Rebecca's family had filed a lawsuit for ten million.
Civil lawsuit Dollars had claimed that Rebecca's death was a murder. The civil suit itself names Nina Dena and Adam and claims that Rebecca was beaten, gagged and strangled before being thrown over the balcony railing. The lawsuit would eventually drop both Nina and Dena. Nina and Dena both. She had solid alibis at the hospital from the video of this on her son Max's side of her, so she was pretty solid and then Dena was at Nina's house, but some seemed to have an alibi. I think her neighbor saw her enter the house, but Adam didn't. He doesn't have a solid alibi, so he's still the number one focus, so once Dena and Nina didn't come out with their alibis, they came out with their alibis, that's when, whoops, that's when Rebecca's family, his lawyer Keith Grier, was when he publicly apologized.
Both Amina and Deena at a press conference, honestly, it is extremely unusual for a lawyer to make this kind of public apology to former defendants, so I thought it was good that the right word that a great person needs to publicly apologize to Rebecca like alleges a family. that Adam was solely responsible for Rebecca's murder in the early morning hours of July 13, 2011. This lawsuit was allowed to move forward in the civil wrongful death trial that began in February 2018. How is a family represented by Keith Grier, the accused Adam? was represented by attorney Dan Webb and Dan Webb.
I understand that you know that you know. It's okay, he has a job to do. Baily surpasses him, but Dan Webb was considered the best of the best. He represented a lot of high profile cases. He was even contacted by Donald Trump, but Dan had to turn him down because he was, quote, too busy, so Dan tends to portray a lot of the bad guys, he's also very good at that and the video he was watching of the trial from Dan. looks like he's about to die he's intimidating not that that matters but it's just a side note he looks like a toad a side note about civil trials in criminal cases the jury has to find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt Also in civil trials they very rarely result in the defendant being imprisoned.
Civil suits generally deal with monetary damages against the defendant. This was a civil case because the San Diego Police Department determined that Rebecca's death was a suicide and they were unwilling to reopen it in order. take Adam to court, that's why they went the civil suit route, but the reason the family was doing this was not because of the money they invested in this, knowing that Adam had no money, he was not a guy rich. but Adam wasn't rich at all, they did it to show everyone else that he is responsible for this in the hopes that they can open this case and then they can put him in jail.
Oh no, we weren't filming well, so Adams. In several layers they argued in their opening arguments that there was absolutely no evidence placing Adam at the scene of Rebecca's death and they were right, honestly, there were no fingerprints, no DNA, nothing and he claimed that over and over and over again. to really enjoy it. in the jury's head, I mean, he's not wrong, there's no evidence, so they call Adam to the witness stand, now he's so nonchalant, the way he talks just sounds, I don't know, like what behavior It's like , I bet you that if he had acted with regret, sadness, shedding a few tears, I bet you it would have been a different outcome for him because they made a big deal of the fact that there was no physical evidence, but the way he acts makes me feel.
What an idiot, he's not even sad or sorry for what happened. I mean, that's my opinion, so then they play with the 911 call for the jury, of course, because the 9-1-1 call is very strange and when Adam calls 9-1. -1 he doesn't even refer to Rebecca by her name, he just says that I have a woman here that she hanged herself, you know, when they asked him about that, he said that she was a woman and then they asked him about that. these types of knots that are used in Rebecca, what about these knots? You use them a lot and of course he's like no I have no idea how to tie those knots and you just want to roll your eyes back because You're like dude, you work on boats.
I don't know anyway, so on April 2 we have closing statements and Keith Grier comes in, brings a realistic mannequin of Rebecca into the courtroom and shows I'm not going to show it to you. the picture just because, but it's a realistic doll that looks like Rebecca and it's hanging and she's naked and you know she just adds more shock to what really happened. Keith was able to piece together a solid line about what happened that night, he believes. that Rebecca was in the shower, she turned it off and then there was a blood stain in the shower from her period, so they knew the water was turned off because I didn't let the blood run down the drain once Rebecca got out of the shower.
Adam then confronted her, something happens and she ends up on the opposite side of the house, they know this because there are drops of blood, a fallen towel and her cell phone on the floor, so they think she was hit in the back of the head. times by Adam for some type of object then she was knocked unconscious, she was bound and gagged and then Adam sexually assaulted her and then he proceeded to strangle her before she was hanged and they believe the reason was due to rage over what happened . to themaximum, then the defense presented their closing statements and they just got very clever saying over and over again that there is no evidence to prove that Adam did this, there are no fingerprints, there is no DNA, nothing that leads to Adam and the jurors determined that Adam was responsible for After Rebecca's death, they determined that Adam owed the family more than $5 million in damages and again made it clear in a deposition that they knew Adam had no money and that it was not about money they just wanted to get.
The Sheriff's Department opened this case and did their job and it was clearly not a suicide. Adam has always denied all allegations and initially appealed the jury's verdict just after leaving court, the media asked him for an interview. Adam is like angry, right, and calls the whole family impostors, which is like what the hell does that mean, but it pissed off a lot of people, if he's really innocent, they're accusing him of horrible things they did to Rebecca, of course. , you have the right to be. angry, he should have gotten some kind of advice or something on how to act because the way he acted towards the media in certain interviews is like, dude, what are you doing?
You're just making yourself look more guilty, he's just coming across as an idiot, however in February a judge threw out the case but noted that the verdict against Adam would stand, which I don't really understand why they did that. An attorney for Adam said that while the verdict remains on file, it now lacks legal standing and cleared Adams' name. sanThe Diego County Sheriff's Department reopened the investigation, but once again determined in December 2018 that Rebecca had taken her life, meaning this horrible story about Rebecca's ahau and also about Max, poor Max, yeah there was foul play with Max.
I feel so bad that she was completely overshadowed, my personal opinion is that I believe Adam was involved in physical evidence, but the fact that a lot of his stuff was cleaned up is very suspicious. The fact that he possibly had the knife inserted into her is horrible because the way he was tied up. This whole thing is just weird and then the saying on the wall like what was that so Rebecca's husband wanted the police department to reopen the case because he brought closure for Rebecca's family so he wasn't against it but pay. for all legal matters to represent Adam, that's why he became the best of the best lawyers.
He didn't think his brother had done it at all, but the guy comes from a lot of money, like he's a self-made billionaire or something. He has all the money in the world to pay people. I think maybe he's been donating to the police department. I don't know, maybe he has some kind of connection to the police department where they felt like they should be loyal. to him in some way and that's why they just closed the case and didn't investigate it because if they prosecute the brother then maybe I don't know, it just shows that if you have money you can get away with anything and so on. that he drives me crazy I would love to hear your theory on this case, let me know below your thoughts, theories, what you have to say, but other than that, I really appreciate you hanging out with me today.
I hope you have a very good day, you make good decisions and I will sing guys later, bye.
