What does Remi Warren pack for a 5 day hunt?Apr 29, 2020
what's up I'm Remy Warren
whatI'm going to do is I'm going to do a real quick pactum and show you what I take on a five day field
hunting where everything i have is in my
packand then i move camps daily like i usually have everything with me while i hunt so here is the gear and how i
packit obviously i have my bow arrow set that right there so my pack , this is actually the long-range outdoorsman, what I do is I like all four spurs. don't walk around with my boat in the backpack because you might need it here on the top easy access tripod so I have my little outdoorsman tripod here on the side right here I have my spotting scope in the front because it's a place on the stalk I like to wear my socks these little things work r Really good or put on an extra pair of socks then outside early in the season Snowy and a lot of high up places you know it can rain real quick so that big rain storms come in real quick and go real quick so I keep my rain gear in this outside pocket here that way if a storm is coming but you know it's not possible for it to rain then I can't take that in the outside pocket here i keep my knife like a replaceable blade gerber paracord which is for a lot of different uses and then you know and then i'll also keep for example my toothbrush sunscreen we go good in the hood abroad.
I keep my GPS or any electronic device and then my headlamp, which I often keep in my pocket while hiking. and I also wear my pockets on my pants so a lot of people are always wondering about clothing so I wear obviously I wear a long sleeve shirt these oh three Ridge Reaper pants field pants and then in the pockets here I keep my gloves. and then my face mask over here Oh lighter a pair of gloves and my face mask are great that kind of thing is beyond me and I always have a lighter in my pocket right now going into the body of the package we'll open it obviously I have my water right here its a hunt in the desert so water is really important so i will keep my water if i am that low i drink drinking water which is the little iodine tablets to purify my water i have another person with me i will usually carry a pump water and then split the weight between the tent and the water pump and the stove between the other person, but since I use drinking water and the camp can be far from water, I bring one of these little dromedaries, this MSR dromedary and then I can mix my iodized water in this while i have fresh water next i cant drink it right away so its camp water and/or mix water its very light so obviously i have a cap its very important because It's cold at night, even if it's hot. during the day and then i go in this zip up jacket this will be my insulation layer this can be the hood zips off the sleeves can be zipped off could be a vest could be no hood or just as a jacket so i'll keep this in my backpack usually on top because it's something you know you'll put it on in the morning you'll put it on take it off during the day then put it back on at night so here it is depending if later in the season i'll go with a it's like merino wool this is a mid season layer so as far as clothing goes i wear a set.
I don't bring extra pants for five days. I only bring one extra shirt and then I usually wear socks in my underwear two days per or two and a half days per Just so you know, on a five day trip you might bring two extra pairs of socks, one of our underwear, two extra pairs in the roof, it depends on how you have, your backpack is fine and then we have game bags, this is where I have you clear, so if I did not bring it is very hot outside, I would not bring the wool, but I will only bring an extra shirt and then my extra socks and i just keep the game bag and then i keep everything organized this is my kind of field processing so i have gloves a contractor bag and extra game bags this is all on top and i have my stove easy to reach the stove and pots is the key.
I only use one of the easy ones so it's like jet boiling just the MSR brand and the key to all hunting in the field the long spoon because you're dehydrated. foods that you don't want to go in there, with a little bit of food, the professionals use a long stick, okay, now let's move on, we have this is my food bag. I keep it in a dry bag or game bag because bear country. a lot of regulations like the regulations for bears if there are no bears you still want it in one of these bags because squirrels will eat your food and that's no fun mostly dehydrated foods 2500 a plan 3000 calories depending on the type of food and how much weight I want I really want calorie dense foods you know there are the different types of bars here food is a little subject in itself that bag of food and that's when I pack it that's in the middle right here because of the frame pack you know you want most of the packs you want to pack from the back up and then on the frames you can have a little bit more high weight so I'll put some of the things I need to get there and then I have my sleeping mat on this side here and then I have my baby bag it's essentially a waterproof sleeping bag I usually leave it open but if it was raining I could zip it up and then it has a p little hood but i can cover myself but very minimal and then on the bottom here i have my sleeping bag so thats pretty much all i have and then outside i have my first aid kit and ian who has my water purification stuff for that i can get to that very easily on the outside and then under the hood this is where i keep my hunting line and then also in my pocket a must have It's just my multi tool like my gerber multi tool.
I'll be using it for about a million different tasks in the field, so, simply put, it's my mule deer hunting kit for archery season in the field.
