Wendigoon Reveals The Most Disturbing Iceberg Suggestions He's Gotten.. | Pick A Hand Ep. 3Jul 01, 2022
handthe talk show where i bring in other creators and try to take their money how through multiple
pickyour poison scenarios i ask you the tough questions your local podcast is frankly to ask the more you walk through fire the more chances have to empty my own pockets the pot in the end will always go to the creator's chosen charity so even though i will burn a bridge we will end up wholesome for this episode i brought a man on a mission

handhey man im excited to be on the show looks fantastic.
I've seen all the episodes and it was kind of subtly on the side. I hope you invite me eventually and now we're here so I'm excited. glad you really want to be in this we could jump right in here with question one oh boy here we go alright right smack bang in the hot zone ok i'm ok i watch the episodes i got horny come on oh ok here we go you shot yourself on youtube right and i might be crazy but i don't think i'll see you washing dishes at a steakhouse again anytime soon huh you're your youtuber right right you're a youtuber and that's it great, however, for a multitude of reasons, i don't tell every joe schmo in my life that th That's my job, so i wonder if wendy goon is at the dentist or with a meeting of people. making videos about what i say depends on who i'm with if it's someone i like to see a couple times a year and they just know them by name and they ask me what i do i usually say oh i work online and that's vague enough that they don't ask any more questions or maybe they're afraid to if it's someone, like a family member or someone who really wants to know, I'll say I make YouTube videos and then that's the next- the question I they have is where it gets weird because once i told someone there's a gun store i frequent in town someone who's at the gun store i've seen a few times i was like oh i do youtube he goes oh , that's great, what do you earn in a year as a fresh out of the game?
More Interesting Facts About,
wendigoon reveals the most disturbing iceberg suggestions he s gotten pick a hand ep 3...
The first question was like uh or kay um and some people I think it's interesting because a lot of people have that question about youtubers because a lot of people still see it as a hoax so half the time I'm going to get something related to money but if it's like a family member or a friend then they ask oh what kind of videos do you make and that's where it gets complicated with me because you can't just know yourself as your grandmother and say oh well have you ever heard of mondo movies and I like it?
Getting into all that conversation with them. The way I like to describe it through trial and error is I make videos about campfire stories on the internet, whether it's weird story stuff or weird conspiracy theories or whatever and it does enough to satisfy people and it explains what i do so i like it whenever someone asks me what i do i entered this as yes or no the river line asked me what test i took so it just depends on the person if I really know them I say I do campfire stories on the internet but like I said if I don't I just work online and that does it so you basically find what stop you're getting off at. more questions happens probably no yes exactly also let me see your wallet and the bank you had so i had a guy who is a friend of mine who is a vietnam vet so he is an older guy and i knew he made youtube videos and i talked with him a couple times and then like four or five times after i saw him after i told him about youtube he said so you like to draw unemployment and i kind of stared at him for a second and i kind of make money with youtube he He's like, oh, that's something you can do and I like it, so there's definitely a gap between people they know and older generations who don't understand that it's like you know a business. so to speak like you said pretty much which stop you get off at depends on what i tell p people yeah no that makes a lot of sense i felt like it's always been al
mostdisrespectful when someone would ask 'do you want to money with that? totally get it yeah okay now we move on to question two okay wendy goon you had an interesting take on your serial killer
icebergyou talked about how if we as a collective don't want to glorify serial killers So why do we give them cool nicknames like You worried me when you said don't worry okay okay okay I'm holding your hand here I know uh I know you're in the right place. the media's craving for racy headlines is probably not plausible, is there a realistic alternative there or should it be considered a problem?
I don't know if it's as much of a problem with the historical aspect and maybe a little bit, but where I see it as a bigger problem is in the modern media coverage every time you have cases like that, I remember, I think it was two or three years ago. years ago there was a serial killing out west i mean snowfall somewhere in the west and they immediately started marketing this guy as the next night's stalker and like the language around him was weird he wasn't a monster who liked ruined families it was like he prays all night and he creeps up and it's like they were depicting some kind of weird anti-hero and I've always hated that attitude and like I said stupid baby in the video as you know obviously for effect funny to take the point too far, however, i think the idea of elevating the worst in society to a place of infamy is a bad idea, at least now that we are dealing with things like, for example, you and i are on the same page page where we see so many weird accounts and people fangirling over people like ted bundy and we are n We won't be able to stop that anytime soon but what we can do is move on, stop treating him like anything other than a monster that does terrible things because I like that specific one, the new night talker, the one people talked about. how attractive he was and other growth stuff like that, long story short without going into a full story there are a lot of people who are down or have nothing to hold on to for one reason or another and a lot of the time people it becomes radicalized in certain groups or others, they have nothing to leave them, so they stick to the first thing that seems to have some kind of incentive, so whenever you take someone who has nothing and then I start to see that people get he gets carried away by the news with all this attention and admiration, it doesn't really matter what it is, they're just looking for something and that's where glory killings or things like that usually come in, it's very similar to how school shooters who, uh historically in their videos where they talk about why they did it they repeat the same sentiments again not stupid baby maybe a bit far but i think people could be more diligent with how they handle information about e evil people that's the only point I'm trying to get it was one of those weird things I never thought of when you mentioned it but it was like when I think of Jack of the Ripper I think al
mostlike a DC character yeah you know this real like sly guy who escaped invaded justice but like he was a terrible person he killed six pregnant women and i think it was like within a year they published it in comics in the newspaper of this devilish guy stalking through the night , so this goes back um like it's not just something new that happened where we glorify ourselves and I think the reason we do it is because every time something is different or out of the norm that we give in pay attention and talk about why it's interesting huh but with cases like that it's probably best if we don't glorify that aspect just give it the bare bones exactly kill six pregnant women yeah terrible headline but that's like that was to the title. for that and not for jack the ripper he praised the streets of London.
I feel like there would be a lot less comics and fangirls for that. Well, it seems like an oddly dark intro. I haven't even been able to pick a hand each time. The moment we do this starts on the worst note, okay we'll find, we'll find some joy here, yeah yeah yeah we're not here because we've reached our first hand choice well it doesn't matter what hand you have. take your pick because you're still going to get punched in the face. I'll give you a clue word for each question in the hand but that will be it and yes the select questions in the hand will get a little spicier each time we come back so wendy goon to my left we'll talk hints to my right we'll talk k amount wendy goon pick a hand ooh lazy like um i'm going to start because i have no idea what's related to amount have you picked the right hand of amount
wendigoonpersonally i've had a pretty slow introduction to 2022. i've posted seven videos with a total of a little over two hours of content and I mention that as a very imprecise base number.
On the other hand, you have posted 14 videos with a total of around 14 hours of content. You already did? in exhaustion at all or you fear it's on the horizon or you're just running on the adrenaline of this absolute tear that you're in i appreciate that don't underestimate yourself i know from some of your features and things you have things on the way but wow , I have not heard anyone quantified as 14 hours for 14 videos that took a second to process um factual, the difference between like me and like you is that your videos are very well edited and structured, while mine are more advanced. the lines of just crazy ramblings my editing is much more minimal and i like it while i couldn't do 14 videos as well as you if that makes sense because like mine it's so much more than long talk now i love to do that, I love being able to ramble on a camera and I'm glad people have come to expect a low level of effort on my part in that regards, however as far as exhaustion goes the closest I've come to Had to exhaustion is wanting to change the subject a bit as if I cover a lot of internet horror.
I want to cover a real life story. If I cover a lot of real life history. I want to cover a conspiracy theory or whatever. because whenever I feel like I'm getting a little tired of what I'm doing, I'm excited to get into the next kind of topic and eventually get back to it and something that I'm really happy with is that I think I've set up the channel. so I can do weird stuff like that and it's not out of place. It's normal, like right now you decide to find some random weird web file on YouTube and just want to do a whole series about it. uh no i'm really excited with where i'm at and you know excited to see where it goes from here well that's good news as a fellow creator that's awesome because it's not like i want you to be like yeah no honestly this sucks dude it's been rough man it's not cool that's good news that's awesome after that serial killer answer i needed to make a joke to you about you answering that and uh like we do here at picking a hand which is fifty dollars out of my own pocket thrown into the pot which we will discuss at the end of the video now you have a choice wendy goon now you can take that w and just carry on with the interview as regularly scheduled or you can move to the left hand which are
suggestionshowever, if you check this hand, you have e to answer this question, you can't buy your way out like you could with the first question, wendy goon, what do you want to do? how to be a man and i'm going to be a man i'm going to take i'm going to take that hand let's go to
suggestionsokay you've chosen the left hand suggestions you can't buy your way out of this here we go i don't think you need i'm sure you at this point you get bombarded with iceberg suggestions and this kind of thing is unavoidable so no offense guys what are some of the stupidest iceberg suggestions you've ever received?
Literally no one has ever asked about this before and it's one of the things I wanted to talk about the craziest, funniest thing for me obviously I get a lot of iceberg suggestions that I won't do because they're like another conspiracy theory . icebergs or another haunting movie icebergs and i've already done that i don't want to go over them again but the fun ones for me are the super specialized topic icebergs they send me i remember someone sent me an iceberg mold like different types of molds it can grow in houses and basements and they were rated by hazard level I guess and they just wanted me to break down all the different types of mold yeah just different types of mold that you might find in your house and sometimes I see avery niche which i think would be cool like for example i wanted to make longer historical videos about mistakes in history and someone sent me a roman leader iceberg like i know the different famous leaders of rome and though i wouldnt make an iceberg on that It gave me the idea to make a video about the history of Rome as it is briefly explained it would be great I have a cheese iceberg I remember that one was different types of cheeses and oh man there was one wait how were those classified, I don't understand, it was like where the provolone sits in that. then at the bottom it was just italian words i've never heard before so i guess if it's my darkness it got me the bottom tears were unknown um and then there was a real oh it was a cryptic iceberg that they sent me but it was for bankability level so i like the message they sent me i think this would be a fun little twist on the cryptid iceberg you could talk about how hot they are and i'm like you know i'm a professor from sunday school right i thought they just brought it back funny little twist let's talk about them too give me the story yeah but like thoughts of cracks kind of but i love getting those d mrs they're fantastic that's awesome see easy enough yeah perfect another 50 in my wallet pot that's a hundred bucks he's ready to get yeah we're going good , the next question here, um, I used to be very interested in lucid dreaming until now. as i could see yes and given your experience you said leave a lucid dream you had to fall off thats correct yes correct yes i find lucid dreaming fascinating so sorry little tangent here oh you ok with a handful of lucid dreams I've had where the dream is turning into nightmare territory.
I was always trying to find something to jump off of in the hopes that the landing would end the sleep correctly, which worked until it wasn't my theory. it's that I started thinking during the jump, man, it would be scary like this jump didn't actually wake me up and I just lay here and I think that mere thought that calmed down because I was lucid dreaming started to dominate this foolproof escape that I had and essentially my brain my br I'm over your thoughts on that, um, so I think you're absolutely right. The reason I've always said that falling is a safe way out is because the way I used to do it because I was in a lucid dreaming period. almost every night for months it felt great to stay in the cycle and the way i would always wake up is i'm just gonna wake up now and wake up and then one night i thought a thought to myself along the lines of man , it would be very strange if I couldn't wake up and stop working and I think it's exactly the same way that the fall not working was for you because after that every time I did it I would like to push myself and luckily, I never had the idea you had what if this doesn't work like it was going to every time you start to panic or get stressed your brain starts to panic and get stressed so it starts to fill up. in the spaces of your visual you know sensory with things that would make you panic or stressed which is where the dream is ams get much worse and like i said falling was always a sure hit for me because i never had that thought but thanks for ruining it.
Very sorry. this makes it more complicated. I thought that what had happened is the whole. Oh, wouldn't it be scary if I didn't wake up? I just applied to the strategy at all. I want to wake up now but as you pointed out it doesn't. which does the same thing with the fall so really no strategy is safe now that I think about it because you can talk your way out of it it's your thoughts that you deal with in the same way you can control your sleep as you can with your thoughts well , you can also stay there because it's like dammit this must suck if I stay here for eternity and then you can't leave your own head I don't know it's stressful this goes back to my thesis don Don't try to lucid dream a Unless you're really ready and I'm in my right mind, don't try it.
I have had more bad experiences than good. I would say what happened to you was the same thing that happened to me only yours is much worse because it means it's I'll go anywhere take the words of wisdom guys huh don't lucid dream or be lucid in any way responsible moving on to the next question here as i was just getting familiar with your content you seem to be well known for your iceberg videos and conspiracy theories but some of my favorite videos of yours are when you become this obscure history buff that You know, from Archduke Ferdinand to the Franklin Expedition. if you could please us with some, for lack of a better term, fun facts about WWII that are always on your head, I'd love to hear them, I really appreciate that I'm glad you like the weird stuff in history because I love history weird story and to you and anyone else who may be watching this who knows my channel the eight hour video of WWII that I'm currently setting up with people to be able to go and see things and like uh have visuals for things which I'm talking about so it's in the works um world war 2 is probably the most ripe time in human history for conspiracies the idea that military intelligence was paying off from what we know now and the first spy games started taking place i'm going to have some of the facts are wrong when i say this is ok because i don't have it like you know i don't have all the invest igation done and written but one of my favorite things that ties into the idea of how weird espionage was is there was a body found off the coast of france i think it was supposed to be a german spy and the body was returned to britain and he had handcuffed to his arm a briefcase that had plans for a german sneak attack on britain or whatever for britain to find this dead german spy and h We have all this information that says they are going to attack britain and britain decides to strengthen their defenses or attack.
I forget exactly what you know because this took place during the war, but whatever it was, it caused Britain to attack Germany in a different place. angle and possibly to help Britain win the war, years later it turns out he wasn't a German spy and in fact if I remember correctly he was just some random Portuguese guy who had died and I think it was the French staged his body to make it look like it was a German spy with information because France wanted Britain to help them fortify a beach or whatever so it was an ally fooling another ally into thinking Germany had a sneak attack when a sneak attack it never existed in the first place, there are plenty of weird German submarine stories citing sea monsters, of course there are all the conspiracies about Hitler surviving WWII and making his way to South America.
WWII is very ripe for a lot of weird stuff and I'm really excited to talk about it to the extent that right now I have to save myself from doing a bunch of weird videos about anything else I was a nerd if you couldn't tell on the middle school and high school and i was always fascinated by history and a lot of people find history really boring and that's because the way educational history is set up is they like it ok remember this name remember this date and that's about it but every Once you think about these historical events as people who have their own motives and reasons for doing what they're doing, who did all these great events throughout history, it becomes a very interesting story and one of the things to deal with. to do with videos like the franklin expedition and stuff like that is to get that drive back to remember like the human experience as a whole because I think it's really interesting, yeah, i think you really touched on that i'm gonna trash the name uss indianapolis yeah yeah that's right yeah that's it you got it you mention it at the end and i think that was a really good way to tie the whole story together yeah there are many tragedies like that that are otherwise for
gotten. uh i remember watching an interview i think it was with a world war 1 soldier and he was describing how chemical gas was used in the trenches and as far as i know almost everyone who fought in world war 1 is past, that was over a hundred years ago at this point and this was an interview in the early 2000s or late 1990s and he ended the interview by saying but I guess in the end it won't matter because give it a few more years and all that they were there that day they will make him dead and that was such a heartbreaking thought to me that someone who endured all these tragedies and conquests has now reached a point in his life where it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, so that when I tell stories about the Indianapolis Stuff like that I hope that at least a few other people still matter because I do care about them and I think it's a very honorable thing for them to do and I think they definitely relate to it thank you thanks well i think that's a is a good time for us to go to our next hand pick here so uh wendy go ahead you know you know the jig you know what's going on here to my left we'll talk about music at my right we'll talk corporate and one of these is a two part by the way i know i spoil you wendy goon pick a hand oh man i have no idea where any of these could go i'm so captivated by the mystique let's start with the music let's see where it goes alright music so you will often showcase a vinyl that you are a fan of in your background and one of them is astroworld by travis scott who at one point last year was a difficult artist to support publicly what is your take on separating the art from the artist oh boy ok there are several cases not just asteroi like ds man that's a good question there are several cases not just with astroworld where someone can do amazing work and the impact that work had doesn't depend on the expression vision of the artist or how they exist or what, even what they mean by that in a lot of cases, an example of that is I think rosemary's baby is one of the best and scariest horror movies of all time Like the waves and the tension, it's all great, but the director, Rowan Polanski, is still in hiding in Europe because he's facing child endangerment charges. or essentially pedophilia charges there were so many people who were inspired by rosemary's baby to move on i think i may be wrong here but i think james juan said that was the movie that got him in so it's because roman polanski is a bad boy james juan has illegitimate reasons for being a director or maybe someone can make it bigger than themselves or in polanski's case in spite of themselves i'm a big believer in the trap that like i'm on the co the side of the internet conspiracy theory and there's a lot of people who like to just have a field day with this astronomical world thing and it was like bollocks they all want the bad guy the bad guy part of the conspiracy be like a big devil with horns and it's very obvious it's an evil situation but it's never like that yes but most of what happened was negligence and stupidity on your part you know yourself and others your around and the which is why i put on the travis scott vinyl. the background for almost the whole beginning of my youtube videos is every time that album came out i was in high school and me and my friend were big fans of rap and hip hop and all that and the night it came out he came to my house and we like it we did the work we installed a stereo system we had like led lights hooked up and all we are like we're going to listen to this uh album from start to finish and that was one of the best musical experiences I've ever had I just had to listen the music and analyze it so like james obviously i'm not james wan or anything if he wasn't illegitimated by what roman polanski did then i'm not illegitimated by what travis scott did that album is still an experience i had an experience i shared with a friend and that's the reason i was there not because i think travis scott is a cool guy so i think the album still stands and the music still stands even though he's a dumb guy essentially ok n in an interesting way to put it, i've never heard it like that, perfect, that's a great answer, thanks, by the way, this was a two part, oh, okay, the music made me think of something else, so is your girlfriend kayla used to be a great little girl. fan of dickie but with his tv show dave that seemed to set an album back a lot and at this point it's been almost seven years since he released another album in my world which makes me think of a youtuber moving into more traditional media ditching his channel for the most part right right what do you think of the youtubers that have taken that path and it's something you might be interested in ooh ooh that's a good question man now that you put a twist on that I like there's a difference between entering new avenues and abandoning your fans or abandoning the people who led you to thatpoint, an example of how not to do it, in my opinion, it's like you're saying with a little jerk that he's like making music and then I'll leave the music and start the tv show, while I watched a youtube doc the other day about joji and how he made the transition from complete opposites of filthy frank to lo-fi hip-hop he has done phenomenal he has done a great job and showed how throughout his career he laid the seeds of what he wanted to do at the same time which started its transition so no one would be thrown off by a whirlwind turn, it was just a slow move and if people wanted to leave they could if they wanted to say they could but they were never kicked out. of the bus essentially and in a way it's like a normal youtuber who just transitions his content to a degree where I kind of got typecast at first and maybe I'll steal something it's like the iceberg youtuber because I covered a lot of icebergs in at In the beginning, what I decided to do is continue to make icebergs because people like them, but I was going to make another two videos in between each iceberg video, that way I'm not stuck and if people like the new content, they can like it. . and if they don't I'll just keep making icebergs for now and as I've gone down that road I haven't made an iceberg in a long time but people still enjoy the content because I didn't make them feel like they were wrong for enjoying the old content and that kind of scales like now it's official now i can say it on podcast or whatever i'm helping evan royalty uh write his next uh short film he's the guy that made the scp movies which are pretty big on youtube and he's making a movie of stalkers and I am helping him I write that my plan is not, if this goes well, just leave my YouTube channel and then start writing.
I planned the transition anyway, if that adds up to continue creating content and making sure no one is left behind just because a new avenue was opened for me there is a right way and a wrong way to do it I want to keep doing it the right way if that makes sense that's a respectable answer you don't have to just jump ship and say see you guys who want to see this yeah we're on the next baby oh you like iceberg losers that's 50 bucks thrown yeah , for you to answer that question, you once again have the option to ignore the other hand and continue with the interview. or you can skip to the other one which was once again corporate oh you know what i'm going to do i'm not going to let a question go unanswered let's go to the company right? going to be a man ladies and gentlemen all right hand corporate right hand having such a fast track record on youtube it's kind of amazing but i don't know if that's true when it comes to endorsements let me explain i reckon there are endorsement tears so when you're launching your way to stardom, you can skip the playground of bullshit-level mobile games and go head-to-head with inexperienced corporate giants with these little scrubs on the bottom right to help you along the way, plus that your undercount skyrockets.
Your value as a creator is constantly changing, and that's not just hard to deal with. yourself, but it's also hard to relate to sponsors. I say all of that with the bold assumption that it has been from one sponsor or another. It's true, wendy goon. um. I wouldn't say they dirtied me more. I can't always find myself where I'm scaling very fast and I'm very blessed and grateful to everyone for the opportunity I've had to be at this point well my ad agent was trying to lock me in on a price point for like you know now I offer to agencies, but it changes every few weeks and so the values keep changing and that's twofold, for one, if someone wants to offer me a long-term contract, I usually can't accept it because I know them. the values aren't going to be good long term and I don't want to book anything long term but on the other hand something that happened recently is I'm a little bit overrated and what I mean by that is one of the brands offered I, you know , a relatively large sum of money to make a video because they saw how fast it was going up so I made that announcement for them and then the information I got essentially was that this is not within the lines of what their projected growth was supposed to be b and they weren't mad they weren't idiots or whatever they were just saying that because every time they offered to do it the next month it was lower than the original because I guess what happened is they saw me going up really fast and kind of faked t or give me an amount that would have been up there you know where the escalation was supposed to go yeah but the video didn't do that well so that was the first time an advertiser ever backtracked and that was interesting. it was the first time i got outplayed and things like that have happened a couple times since then obviously i'm not trying to say this to sound like you know complaining or upset about success in some way but i saw that face but it's an interesting dynamic because while most people just assume everyone else is trying to catch up with me in cases like that, i have to catch up with what is expected of me if that makes sense that's weird i think so as I have spoken.
I have talked to other people in similar scenarios and they have not had an experience like that. I think that's pretty unique. that was your guess thats cool s is what it is baby and like i said they werent idiots about it at all they were just saying that to justify why they backed off on the next offer but i remember hearing that like oh now im the which is in the front. foot i didn't gain 100k subscribers last month get back to work oh so now you stop conveniently alright that's weird alright uh that's another 50 bucks thrown in the pot on my total half with 200 so far you were doing amazing wendy goon let's move on to the next question here, do you know Wendy Goon what is your most viewed video?
It comes to your head. It would be the haunting film iceberg. It is very much the haunting iceberg movie with 6.3 million views. but that's your number one most viewed video so i appreciate i have a theory that's not exactly a hot take but i think the creator's most viewed video of a season is never going to be the creator's favorite video right and unless have you had a change? heartfelt about the b Missing a parade, this applies to you, but in general, do you agree, disagree. Just because? The video watched might be, uh, your favorite, like some people you know, they honestly have to work at YouTube and you know that it would make sense to them that the most successful thing they'd have was their favorite and there's you know there's nothing necessarily wrong with that. by no means, however, for me, I do a lot of the content because I love doing it and your reference to the Black Parade video is interesting because I would still say it's one of my favorite videos because it's something.
I think it was the most original thing to do and while putting up a story for the black parade isn't original, it was something I came up with on my own before I really got into the content creation scene, so it felt like a complete me. full of satisfaction to get to that point: the haunting film iceberg. The reason I feel like it did so well is because I accidentally hit the nail on the head at the right time because there was a spark of interest and like haunting movies it started the iceberg trend was just getting started and those two things combined. at one time and that was monumental growth for my channel actually a youtuber by the name of mr gigi uh waved at me when that happened and that was my first yell i ever had on youtube so i feel like i hit the right time , but it's not my favorite video because it's something that interested me, but it wasn't something that was deeply personal to me, so like my favorite videos would be the black parade one the analysis of no country for old men that are the videos in my channel that nobody watches and honestly my martin luther king conspiracy video because that was the one i wrote and i rewatched all the t and i felt like i got it right many times you probably feel the same way as m You'll go to a video when you're done, I think so, that's nice, it's pretty close, it came off the clock the right way. but that mlk one was one when it finished i was like it hit the nail on the head i guess im the most proud i think the reason for that is everyone has different tastes and enjoyments and mine ain't a country for old movie reviews uh emo, mid 2000s rock albums and things that are hyper specific to me but the things that work well are more far reaching like icebergs and haunting movies that everyone can jump on and I think that's why I'd stretch too. to say the haunting movie iceberg is probably not my most favorite video of most viewers even though it's the most viewed for the same thing you get what I'm saying for the same reason it's not my favorite because I have a specific interest which I probably covered another thing that was more of a specific interest to them, it just appeals more broadly to everyone, like I had to categorize it this way, more and more people liked the haunting movie I support then people loved murder from mlk does that make sense yeah that makes sense it appeals more broadly to an acceptable level rather than really appealing to some so some of my videos really appeal to me but things like iceberg from haunting movies broadly appeal to many and I think that's probably why most of creators watch videos not their favorite lemme turn this around i know i'm the one being interviewed but i want to turn this around right now yeah you're on the gun now what's your most viewed video actually uh i think it's a review of a hate movie i think if it's if that still stands and is your favorite video doesn't get in yeah yeah what's your favorite video hard hard call and um man I mean it's my dating scam video which is the first one that comes to my mind i put so much into it that its like this is beautiful to me.
It's the first time I've put together a project like that and I was so proud of it and I think I still am. I didn't change and I think I like and I really like that dating scam video by the way too but I think it falls along the same lines that you know how much effort went into that and you were proud of the final project doesn't necessarily mean it was the sexier video, but you're happy with what you did and I think that goes for most creators. I'd be remiss if I didn't say at least once during this interview the word giants man check out my videos okay I don't have a question for that guys sorry I know why you like it so I.
I'm not going to ask you and I'm going to ask you to explain the obvious here, so it was great that you just said anyway, instead what did you miss out on writing short horror stories on Instagram? Wow man you tripped me up with the giants and then cut me down hard so I've always loved writing horror stories and as YouTube continues to grow I have. I haven't been able to do that as a lot of the stuff I used to write was very short and minimal, usually what I do is just find a creepy image or honestly like deviant artwork that people did like a creepy forest or something well and would. put a short three paragraph narrative for that picture there's so much simplicity to that I think that's the part I probably miss the most obviously you know I'm happier where I am now than where I was then but it was kind of like that I guess that it was enough for me to see a creepy image and then come up with the story or relic behind it and then talk about it and that was it and then just move on to a new project I think.
I kind of keep doing the same thing with my videos where I see something I'm interested in and dive into it and then I do the research and I want it to be something that's interesting to everyone else, so artistically I feel like I'm doing the same thing in a longer gas, but there was something about writing a narrative, not just researching, not just conveying a narrative, but being the storyteller that I miss to a degree and with things like writing for uh, the stalker movie that Evan Royalty is working on . i'm bringing that back to a degree like creating a narrative or speaking within a narrative people have asked me before like you're doing youtube now where do you see yourself in the future? i love youtube i really don't see a reason why i would ever leave the platform but if i could change one thing about myself on that platform it would be not just creating, not just delivering narratives but creating narratives and telling stories and that's probably the part I miss the short horror stories the most, but I have a feeling I'm going to.
Coming back to that, one way or another, are you still working on your supernatural-related novel? Yes, yes and no, so I'm still working on it. I guess anyone who says they have a novel is still working. the novel where you continually add ideas to it you know everyone has the notes section on your phone you like to know word throw up and then write later i used to sit and actually had a typewriterin my house because I like something to be so grounded about it and I used to sit at my typewriter and demand time to work and now it's more in the background but I've always said that before I die I'll have a book and I haven't changed my mind on that so yeah it's a good timeline to work from now and forever somewhere in between stay tuned guys okay wendy goon we've come to our final pick all i'll warn you all good all good on my left we w bad talk virus on my right we'll talk conspiracy which are funny words to put together btw but anyway uh wendy goon pick a hand oh boy ok so i think we already know on at this point I am I am I am asking all the questions so we will save the conspiracy for last so I am going to say virus for now ok we are going to go with virus in my life follow me through this one if you want I am ok john mcafee founder of mcafee antivirus i said follow me here i know i think i know where this is going ok john mcafee founder of uh mcafee antivirus and doer of many other things was a big topic last june i won't go any further but in fact , he had publicly announced at the time that he was going to cover the issue and possibly establish a link between him and a man named jeffrey who owned an island, uh, no you don't have to go into the details of that video. current status, but will often tiptoe around a specific controversial person or issue under the nation explanation of I still want to have a youtube channel tomorrow, right?
So why was that mcafee video any different? Did anything change along the way or were you just willing to be a youtube martyr for that story? when you said virus i thought we were going to covet the lane and your first words were john mcafee that's why i said it was good i liked it ok that story has always been like the looming presence not just because of the crazy and off place. there's a conspiracy, but that was kind of what destroyed my view of most world politics because it's like, hey, we're concerned about this social issue and there's this social issue that's things like oh, I care I'm glad that a elected representatives care and then as a quick side note there's an island in the middle of the ocean but don't worry we're going to keep talking about politics and that was depr.
Essing at first, especially when I started researching and at the time I didn't have a YouTube channel to talk about, so that drove me crazy. I think what makes the story different is that with things like jfk or mlk. like they're very conventional you can talk about them what you want everyone acts like that event or at least everyone in power acts like that event never happened and so you're shaking the table a little bit every time you start bringing out certain names and certain people that are members of it, like when I did my mlk video and I'm talking about, well there's this member of the police department who took the photo and this one staged it like all these guys are dead at this point, it's not like it's going to cause him a big problem if someone gets a lot of popularity talking about you know the assertive man named jeffrey who owned an island that's rocking some people i don't think it's me i'm someone important enough to ge I don't like killing myself over it as some would say it's never been my concern it's just venturing out and at the end of the day I don't know if my YouTube channel would be okay after doing it and a bit of that it is fascinating. part for me the part that I want to get out and maybe in a year or two if I were to cover it it would be with more efficiency and I would know what would happen and whatever but the other element is a lot of it is still unknown and I can actually talk about the john mcafee video for a second go crazy can i also lay out what i asked you to do for the john mcafee video go ahead i didn't mean it was is my place no no no no no you're not okay so i had planned this video from john mcafee right after john mcafee got engaged live i got gigi i asked several other creators to send parts for their video what have you and gigi actually sent me a clip of him talking about what john mcafee did while he was alive i was ready i was ready to make the video and i started digging into the letters he was writing from his jail cell and the calls he had made to his wife and i never told them this gigi but the reason i never did is The video is because through research I came to the conclusion that I think he committed suicide and my original purpose of the video was to be like oh look oh look yeah john mcafee committed suicide or whatever and it hooked me up with all the owners on the island and everything, but then there was a moment like in the investigation where I recognized as a man that this guy had a lot of problems and I'm about to make a video where I make a complete game out of it. his death and what do you have?
Not only would it be illegitimate if I continued to pretend I believed the whole theory, but it would also be disrespectful to someone who I now believe was actually in a lot of pain and did it to himself so the John McAfee video wouldn't happen for that reason in the future. a video about the island owners and whatever, but that was also another big moment for me because I was so far down this investigative rabbit hole and trying to figure out oh did he do this? Did john mcafee do this and then i realized that he didn't? really a conspiracy in that sense it's just a sad event kind of slows me down a bit in regards to that something may happen in the future but i want to make sure i'm not only knowledgeable about it but also respectful for situations like that, yeah, no, and I respect that because I mean you could have posted a video that would have
gottenyou millions of views I'm sure, but you felt inauthentic and it would have been based on a lie, the good stuff. news is 50 more bucks started coming back into the pot with happy notion yeah so we have a total of 250 so far wendy goon of course you made it clear how you feel about this but i'm still going to ask if would you like to go to the right hand of the conspiracy or do you just want to follow t or the last question oh you know what we're doing let's go to that conspiracy hand come on let's do it yeah pull the right hand here the video most viewed of shane dawson on his channel with above keep doing that keep doing that come on. this is funny i love it go ahead shane dawson's most viewed video on his channel with over 50 million views is titled conspiracy theories with shane dawson what are your thoughts on shane dawson as youtube's poster child for conspiracy theories, so I think I mentioned it? it may have been one of the first videos or it may have been on a podcast but in short shane dawson is one of the reasons i started youtube and it is for this reason that i have always been weird i have always liked weird things of history and conspiracy. theories, like I said before, I had a youtube channel, it was like everything about the island, you know what happens and what you have, and the same goes for a lot of the conspiracy theories that I talk about now, esoteric or supernatural knowledge or giant. s and stuff like that i was always very into and thats where conspiracy theories go in my opinion and when i started dating my girlfriend kayla i had heard of shane dawson i dont think i watched any of his videos. youtube consumption was like mr gigi or uh i like gun channels and stuff so i had never actually seen shane dawson and the first video i saw was my girlfriend was like well you like theories of conspiracy, he made a video about conspiracy theories, I was like okay, let's watch it and I remember he was furious and there is nothing to understand, it was nothing against him as a person, I had just met him, but he was just saying the closest thing to what i wrote in conspiracy theory on google and it was the first result the one i still remember the theory he said he sent me over the edge we were saying they were looking at it and i was complaining and then he said the color yellow is made for it draws attention and in some studies it makes people hungry so maybe mcdon ald picked the color yellow to get her attention and make her hungry and i paused the video and looked at her and said this can't be serious this it's literally a c advertising lase this is how marketing works your conspiracy theory is that a sign is made to get your attention i went crazy and i was going crazy and i looked at this is before youtube started i looked at kayla and i said yea ever have a channel i'm going to talk about real conspiracy theories no whatever, every time i started youtube i was like okay what do i want to do?
I tried a few gun videos and didn't really go anywhere with those. I'm like, oh yeah, that Shane guy made that conspiracy video. I've got to make a better one and that's what got me on the conspiracy theory iceberg which was the initial ignition for my channel so in a weird way I have to say thank you Shane for giving me that engine fire for ge t where i am because it pissed me off but i'm here because of it so i can't complain that much so all you wendy goon fans support shane dawson whether you like it or not you've got to deal with it. this is this is who brought you a lot of good oh no you put that up don't worry we won't cut it I was curious to see what you thought I remember watching those videos a long time ago and haven't seen it since I went. to revisit it for this question specifically one of them he was talking about the live photo feature on the iphone where you can just play it back as a gif and he was freaking out and i was like that's just a feature on the iphone maybe he wasn't known at the time i don't know whatever that's not the point yeah he too he too that whole thing where it's like oh you can hear a phone call seconds before and after you hang up it's like , You know? how the lines work thats what a phone does you put creepy music behind anything yeah no i hate shane dawson just fun something to talk about is something more fun to talk about is another fifty dollar rock in the pop, baby , three hundred dollars in the name of shane dawson, oh, I love to, put it in there to, uh, put it in there for the boat, so we'll have one more. closing question here i'm ready let's move on to the last question this is sweet and short to the point here what seems to baffle people the most when they learn about you is that you are a sunday school teacher is your extensive knowledge of guns the fact that that you don't curse the fact that she used to watch the ton of leafy and pyrocine or is it the fact that you're actually her dad interesting so i've seen it all well i've seen people get mad at me for a number of different reasons the school teacher sunday one is pretty recurring because i have kind of a slow continuation on my channel where i talk about sunday school videos and let me just say for the most part all the comments i get all the messages i get are overwhelming very positive about those things i get a lot of people like it's not religious at all, but it's great to hear you talk about it because most people don't talk about that stuff, but there are some who get annoyed by the concept of it's they just don't like the concept or they had a bad history with people who were religious so there's always something going on in the background, guns, one is weirdly less controversial, at least it's been in my experience that christianity i think it's because there's been sort of a climate change in at least american culture it used to be like guns were seen as a south american right wing conservative thing but now it's There's been this kind of turn where people have developed a distrust of things like being educated and like protecting the police and protectors and what they have and they've decided they need to protect themselves and therefore people have stopped see that as a red flag however they s until they see Christian and again I say they like that it is a certain group of people like several people who still see Christianity as the idea retains standard south american dora and that's what i have the most problem with guns weirdly christianity is somehow more southern appalachian than guns now because that makes sense but i think the god thing is the thing i've most seen, but I mean, like with the god thing and the gun saying there are some things about me that I won't. uh over and that's a couple of them so if that puts you off I'm sorry you can walk out the same way you came in but uh I'm, I'm here to keep being myself and talk about what I want. speak up and I'm glad the vast majority of people have supported me through it and it really means a lot really good here it's fun I was going to make a game at the end here with you instead of that question where I was going to have you try and pronounce goofy l location names huh but i felt like it came off of a ruse so twisted because you're always open you're always open about butchering some of the names you have to read because obviously i eat the most random things but i've lived in wisconsin about half ofmy life and you pronounced wauwatosa like wow wow and i was i paused the video and had to rewind what you just said because i'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing and i saw that it was spelled i was like friend you added another vowel what are you doing?
I didn't even try that's hilarious that's fantastic so I've tried to be better about it but with a lot of the stuff that I review it's completely on paper like I just read and I hardly ever watch videos on it so I what happens is I have tunnel vision and I write the names of all these places and stuff and at that point I think I'll figure out how to pronounce that later and then I have my notes and I'm sitting in front of the camera and I look at it I'm like here nothing goes wendy goon that was six picks one hand questions answered 300 in the pot to donate to a charity of your choice you did it with ease you gave very specific answers you got me down multiple times but it was worth it thats like every time we talk to each other regular wedding talk at this point if you just want to uh give yourself a little cheesy hello here at the end wendy goon let her know what's up uh i mean my channel is windagoon she's probably in the link or description somewhere who i want though i give a shout out to mr gigi because he not only makes fantastic content but talks to him on and off camera he's a fantastic guy he was very helpful for me starting this channel not just for greeting me but my advice and i can definitely say i wouldn't be where i am today if it wasn't for him i really appreciate that wendy goon me and shane dawson the dynamic duo baby brings you life hey so this video has like three weeks late this was supposed to be out a while back, long story short there are some issues behind the scenes which luckily got sorted out a bit but anyway this isn't the long project I've been discussing if some of you have curious i still have a very big project on the way it's coming to an end it's very exciting i know funny things but if you enjoyed this pick a hand episode with wendy goon i would really appreciate if you could pick me On one hand, it's a series that I want to continue no matter what I'm doing on YouTube.
I love challenging myself to try to deliver a good, proper interview for another YouTuber. You know they've probably been on countless podcasts where they get the same questions from you always know what brought you to youtube what to do you think about youtube blah blah blah whenever i see interviews like good interviews like hot interviews or something or hardware stuff i feel like everyone wants to be interviewed because everyone wants to talk about themselves you know it's fun stuff that everyone likes to be like on a game show type of environment thing i can't understand that like shawn evans isn't calling me right but it's like but i can get i can try to give people that and that that's what i want to do with picking a hand and that's why i love doing it and although it takes a lot of time obviously to form the questions and then also blah blah lo whatever, I want to keep doing it and I would love to have many more creators. in uh yeah if you enjoyed this episode please leave a like and subscribe because I have more content on the way. uh, thanks to my sponsors for always supporting the boy.
I'm not kidding, so as usual I'm Mr. gg and I'm abroad.
